The food was nearly 2 hours early and when I rang up to speak about the order the customer service was disgusting!!! Honestly disgustingly rude man on the phone! The time I got home from work the food was freezing cold and had to reheat my takeaway which was an absolute joke considering I ordered it to arrive at a certain time. Poor service rude people on the phone. Never ever ever ordering again 🤢🤢🤢🤢

OH MY GOODNESS IF I COULD GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR I WOULD. WE WAITED TWO HOURS FOR OUR CURRY, ONLY FOR IT TO ARRIVE STONE COLD, I PHONED INSTANTLY, BUT WAS TOLD BY THE INCREDIBLY ARROGANT RUDE MAN, AS I HAD PLACED THE FOOD ON A PLATE, HE WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK, REPLACE OR REFUND, I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT I AM NOT ACUSTOM TO EATING FROM CONTAINERS, HE JUST CONTINUED TO SHOUT AND SAY THERE HAD BEEN NO OTHER COMPLAINTS THIS EVENING, AND THAT HE WOULD NOT REPLACE OR REFUND, BUT AS A GESTURE I COULD HAVE A DISCOUNT NEXT TIME, THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.... HE THEN PUT THE PHONE DOWN. I WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICES, AND I HAVE NEVER EVER SPOKEN TO SOMEONE IN THIS MANNER, AND NEITHER WOULD I WANT TO STOOP THAT LOW. I PRESUME THAT HE WANTED IT UNTOUCHED IN THE CONTAINERS SO HE CAN TAKE IT BACK, REHEAT IT AND SEND BACK OUT TO SOME UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS. HE IS HAPPY TO TAKE OUR MONEY ( CASH NO RECEIPT OR CARD READER ) ON THE DOORSTEP!!!! AND LEAVE US TO HAVE COLD CONGEALED FOOD. I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE TAKE YOUR CUSTOM TO A TAKEAWAY THAT TAKES PRIDE IN THEIR FOOD AND CARES FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS, AS THIS EXCUSE FOR A TAKEAWAY CLEARLY DOES NOT.

Ordered pizza & spicy spuds. Order was very late. Topping on pizza was lovely however the bases were well over cooked. As for the spuds, they were over cooked & I ordered a spicy sauce for mine, expecting it in a pot, but no, covered all of them in the sauce, which I really didn't want. Like to dip spuds in, or not, should be my choice. Made the spuds even soggier 🙄 gave 2 stars as the delivery driver was so so nice!!! Would've tipped him however had no cash on me 😔

Still the best indian takeaway, food was excellent and so tasty.The food delivered was hot. It was excellent and the delivery bloke was polite. Thank you we really enjoyed our food

This was the poorest excuse for Indian food I have ever tasted. Food for 3 people got 2 poppadoms no dips, 3 different meals all the same sauce. No difference in taste. Absolutely awful, if you like indian food forget these .

Just received our kebabs after a one hour and 45 minute wait. 2 phone calls and being told it was busy on a weekend ( this is Friday @ 17:11) ain't much good when you pay and receive cold food. If I had been told that I'd have to wait 1 hour 36 minutes, I wouldn't have bothered. ( It certainly wasn't worth the wait!) Take it from me, Feed Well Malaysian/ Chinese, Eggbuckland or Francines on North Prospect Road is the place to order from. The latter for kebabs.

After ordering food yesterday 16.1.2021 it was delivered 2 hours after order was placed...absolutely stone cold...after ringing the shop 98 times finally got an answer...was told the manager would phone me back...today....have since phoned to speak to the manager...Still no joy....Well here is my message to the manager....please don't think that I am going to stop ringing...until you contact me I am going to continually ring until you have the common decency to call me and sort this out...paying £30 plus for food that we couldn't eat is no joke. As I said I'm not going away so I suggest you call.

This kebabs shop saved my life! The owner made the prices so high I could never eat anything from here so I lost weight and saved my life thank you Babas. First off what a lovely looking menu But then you get to the prices ?! What is the owner thinking ! Priced far to high! Your notice the kebabs are cut with onions to so less meat!

Placed an order online and picked up my food without having to hang around too long. I went for the chicken and rib combo with spicy spuds. Don't get this, it was horrible. Dry chicken, fatty, grisly rib with no meat whatsoever. I know it was a bit of a warm evening, but I couldn't help noticing a fellow customer's food being prepared by a guy who was sweating profusely. Several times I saw drops of sweat drop from his brow into the food he was putting together. If it had been my food he was preparing, I'd have asked for it to be re-done. By somebody else!! Won't be going there again.

Joke of a portion. Tasty but you have to fill up on poppadoms and naan bread. The photo below is 2 curries (shared by 2 people) This is 1 person’s portion. All sauce! Not a patch on Chinese or kfc even!

So we ordered 2x 14 pizzas. We weren’t told they had “ran out” of 14 inch pizzas and were sent 4 x 9 inch pizzas. Clearly not made fresh then. Most people would assume that makes 18inches... WRONG. Called to complain and was spoken to by a rude woman claiming to be the manager who told me I was stupid and I got more for my money. No. 2 x 9inch pizzas = 820.87 cm2. 14 inch pizza = 993.15cm2. Please educate yourselves and stop ripping people off. Clearly shouldn’t be making pizzas if you don’t have a clue. Yours truly. Someone who’s smarter than you and who won’t be ordering from you again.

Disgusting food all thrown into cartons covered in garlic sauce instead of in pots , chicken over cooked, no drinks phoned and was met by a disgusting lady with no manners

Really enjoyed the kebabs but found the ribs were too sweet but others in the group enjoyed them. Can be a bit hectic as it’s quite popular but if I fancy another kebab I’ll be back.

Mid Saturday evening, small group left as I came in and no one else waiting. Ordered a half pound burger but the server just disappeared and although he passed quickly by twice or more, no burgers were put on the grill/griddle and no sign of any. After almost 25 minutes I spoke to the other server who immediately offered to sort it only to for her to be told by the first that he had to clean the griddle. I changed my order to a large kebab which was served fairly quickly although the modest tangle of meat was placed loose in the carton with the salad, the pitta was lain on the outside and wrapped in cold paper. No fork so impossible to reassemble before I got home. Uninspiring, unappetising and pricey for what you get.

Harto de esperar a ser alimentado. Comida de excelente sabor cuando puedes conseguirla, pero toman más pedidos de los que pueden cumplir. Cambié a ordenar solo comer que funcionó por un tiempo, pero creo que todos se han dado cuenta de esto ya que esas órdenes se retrasaron. . . Quiero decir por casi una hora, no 5 minutos más o menos. Esta noche fue la gota que colmó el vaso. Debería haber estado aquí a las 8. 15 . Ahora 8. 50 y todavía esperando. Simplemente no es lo suficientemente bueno.

Nos mudamos a Oxford desde Plymouth hace dos años volvimos a ver a los niños. Decidimos ir a las babas para tomar un kebab y no hay diferencia, todavía hay carne de pollo y papas fritas en el cajón superior, y 3 de pollo y papas fritas exuberantes, y sí (la broma de Kfc) sigue trabajando como una máquina bien engrasada.

Previous Saturday ordered through just eat. 2 hrs later no delivery. Reason? Just eat went down off line. Tonight ordered through them. 2 hrs later no delivery again. Ordered 1811 delivery due 1915. Phoned for update at 1934 to be told just About on route. 2015 still nothing. Kids tea gone cold waiting on their chips to go with it.

Placed order direct with babas not just eat at 16.45 for delivery at 18.45, rang at 19.20 to be told 10 mins, called again 19.40 to be told on its way, called again for 43rd time and got through at 20.00 to be told on its way, now 21.38 still no delivery best put this down to bad day, after 5 years think it’s time to order else where!!

Ordered our meal...what came can only be described as “I think it was left for the dog”. Reordered after complaining to be told next time we would receive a discount. Next time? There’s more chance of me applying to be a contestant on love island. The refreshed order arrived minus the all important spicy spuds. Which suspiciously taste the same as the disgusting ones we sent back. I asked the shop how often they check their salad (curly cucumber is not my thing) and they said every day. Safe to say would never visit this place again. Disgusting

Ordered 2 meals from here through just eat at 6.30pm and it said our food will be with us at 7.40 which was fine, then they changed the time to 8.15 at 8.45 still no food so i looked on just eat app again and it said our food has been delivered so i phoned babas to see what the hell was going on and the phone line cut off, so i phoned again and the phone was engaged and i probably tried about 20 times to get through to someone so in the end i phoned just eat and they were so helpful, they offered to phone babas to find out what was goimg on and again they could not get through so luckily we ended up getting our money back so we ended up ordering a pizza and at 10.30 pm our babas take way turns up at the door!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately we could not accept the food as we had got our money back please don't order food from here!!!!!! Service is horrendous!!!!

Bad food bad service, do not order from here! Our last experience our food was over 2 hour late, food was cold, not cooked properly when we phones up the manager, he was very rude and disgusting customer service!

Came in late last week for a simple lamb kebab. Surprised when the meat which was in long strands and came from a metal storage pot with no sign of being very warm, was then stuffed into a polystyrene box with some lettuce and onion, closed, part wrapped and then a plain pita which had been left on one side with others and showed no sign of being warm or even partly inflated was place on top, not in, the box and then the whole was wrapped in cold white paper. I was surprised that there was no knife to cut the pitta given that the lamb had not been put inside it. When I asked, the stern curt female who identified herself as the manager said that it was my fault if I didn’t like their presentation and that if I had wanted the meat in the bread I should have made it clear on ordering. This is the first kebab shop I have ever been in where this has been the case. She then made a great performance of rolling mor paper into a large cone and lifting the strands of lamb high to lower it in and then wrapped the result in more paper. I wanted to eat it straight away and wasn’t surprised to find it difficult to break and bite the strands which within less than a minute of my being given my food was at best tepid and becoming greasy. I think the large kebab had cost me about £6.50. Thoroughly miserable and unpalatable.

Here we go again.Used to be absolutely lovely take away,now they started unofficially forcing to order minimum 15£ for delivery.When I was ordering he said minimum order is 15£, though it has never been like that.Indian boy with good English accent, your fault the shop has lost regular customers!!!

Went in to get a take a away, was very busy, Order was taken quick,food was put on griddle to cook and we were soon on our way.Staff were very busy, but polite and friendly.

We have been regular customers of Babas for three years now, it has gone down lately though used to be really nice authentic food. Not worth ordering on weekends and public holidays- the quality of dishes is getting quite low,like over cooked rubbery prawns,oily onion bhajees... My husband’s favourite used to be spicy special, but now its all onions and peppers with a bit of chicken. We still sticking to Babas take away from time to time and it’s like a lottery-once can be fine,the other day wasting money.Shame seeing it going down.

Have had there kebabs May times and can truly say they are the best in Plymouth. Food is fresh, portions are good well worth the money. Sticky ribs are also good

Normalmente es la carne kebab Donah sabroso y agradable ahora y de nuevo con ensaladas frescas y patatas fritas.

2 kebabs dieron orden equivocado, en vez de pollo dieron cordero, la carne era absolutamente repugnante difícil correosos y comestible. Llame para avisar que era muy poco servicial gerente antipático y grosero! Me dijo que tengo que pagar para sustituir cuando la comida era extremadamente pobre. No volvería nunca recomendaría este lugar aquí o aquí.

Regularly use always a faultless service, nice friendly young delivery driver. The best kebabs, my favourite always fresh and fresh salad. Always deliver when they say they will and never let you down. My daughter says they service the best spicy potatoes. excellent place

Excelente servicio. Y el personal buenas porciones muy amable. Buena relación calidad-precio. Se llena bastante, pero la comida cocinado, así que no importa la espera.

It's OK, standard meals. We only order from here as our other Indian takeaway does not deliver much rather our other Indian to be honest but babas is ok. A lot of the time I find their meat is very chewy and meals are dry

Love their food, but this is now the 3rd time I've returned home with cold food! Most of my order was made up quickly, but was then left waiting on the side for so long for the chips.... chips that were there but then given to other customers who arrived after me, meaning I had to wait for more to be cooked, hence the cold food. They've had their last chance. This is the 3rd time the exact same thing has happened so I can't be the only one. Great food, poor service.

If it wasn't for the fact that the kebabs are good, I wouldn't go back. Messed up our order (one less kebab) so we had to share one. They ended up £4.95 better off and to go back would have meant the rest of the food going cold. Had already had a query on our order so it should have been easy to get right!

Just left yours brought a chicken kebab and chips , the kebab was slapped in a plastic carton with all they mess around it, the pita bread slapped on top all soggy, when i asked in the shop why do you not make up the kebabs they said you do it at home, pita bread fell to bits soggy mess , if i wanted chicken in a plastic box i would have went kfc,, chips were made from cardboard yeh ? Thats after a 25 min wait

Got there just after 11.40. Looked at menu, great deals . Girlfriend wanted a burger but was told grill was off & so was the fryers. The first time I have tried a takeaway from Babas. The garlic chilli chicken masala was pretty good, the garlic fried rice was excellently flavoured with lots of garlic and not the sometimes token one piece of garlic served in some places. It was a busy service, there was a little confusion on some orders being served and the food was a little tepid. What knocked this place backwards for me was the communication in the kitchen. A polite way of saying senior employee speak to your counter staff with a little more respect in the presence of customers.

This is the best kebab in Plymouth always tasty and value for money even taste good cold the next day well done great service keep it up

We ordered online from this place and I wish we hadn't bothered!!We asked for three children's meals only to be sent just three sausages! When I rang to complain I was told by an arrogant little girl that's exactly what i had ordered!! No apology, no offer of replacement food or a refund.On opening the adult meals all three of the kebabs were tepid and the chips were overcooked but cold!!!We all felt sick after eating what food did arrive so won't be going back again.Staff most certainly need a refresher course on customer services and telephone etiquette. But I suppose that's what you get when you employ petchulant children!!Avoid using this place, there are far better kebab shops around who don't charge you an additional fee to deliver your cold and missing food!!!

There is many kebab shops in Plymouth but this one is by far the best all though the interior is outdated that doesn't reflect on how yummy and fresh the food is been here many times and never had a problem staff have always been lovely and friendly fully recommend this take away

great food worth the wait for it to be freshly cooked. The chicken shish was tender chicken breast cooked on the grill so it was still succulent and delicious and don't forget to try their home made coleslaw which is fabulous!

My wife and I just fancied a donar kebab, we're glad we did try for yourselves and enjoy we did. The staff were freidly and helpful

The order was delivered early so we thought it was good, the burger was ice cold upon arrival, the potatoes and beans were actually good which is a surprise the kebab was alright but that's kind of expected, however going back to the burger it was food poisoning in a box... the coleslaw looked well out of date so we scraped it off hoping to save the food there was basically no cheese underneath so we though to add more of our own then we looked underneath as we wanted to remove the onion as we always do because this is common in burgers, the sauce looked congealed and there was barely any of it though that is probably our saving grace and the only edible part was the salad which basically didn't exist after the onion with a tomato the size of a 1p coin the burger had clearly been reheated before she yelled at me for having reheated it saying it wasn't safe even though my girlfriend who works in food hygiene knows its ok to reheat something once if your careful although not recommended can be done its such a shame because the delivery driver was so nice and the rest of the staff who we spoke to on the phone seemed lovely, the manger was awful, rude, insulting and refused to solve the situation in any format I'm lucky that the takeaway site refunded me out of their own pocket without request, but seriously doubting safety standards and customer service is none existent, the manager claimed to have filmed the making of my food which is either a blatant lie or a very dodgy as have worked in food places before and this is not common practice, the manager didn't want to hear anything instead wanting to discuss a review left on the takeaway site, to be honest I'm considering reporting the really off looking food to prevent illness in other people, thankful we didn't eat it Cant believe this place thank for a hungry evening for my girlfriend.

I had been stood there for about 45 minutes until I was served, people kept coming in and not letting us pay for our food we wanted. When we got the food, it was cold and took about 20 minutes, maybe more, to be fully done, only for chips, chicken nuggets and their onion rings... To put it politely, their chicken nuggets are nothing like chicken nuggets seen in every other takeaway. It was covered in breadcrumbs rather than the batter you'd get on them. The chips easily went cold, very fast. They were really horrible to taste, and the customer service was appalling! I certainly won't be going here again!

This place gone downhill and always look like it needs a deep clean. The meat in there is not very good at all and won't be going back after feeling sick after eating there meat so keeping away from that place.

Food is nothing special but then again the majority of kebab takeaways are not serving Michelin star food so it can be forgiven.What can not be forgiven is the attitude of the staff in here. It's like going into a classroom where the supply teacher has lost control and the pupils are running things. They need to get some manners and a smile. Wow that's gone down hill !Just been up there and the kebab meat hardly looks cooked as well as being cold the girl who served me doesn't know how to say thank you.I've never left a review before but had to join up to share this poor experience oh well time to find another kebab place.P.s anyone know how to reheat kebab meat ?

Love the food and have been going for years. Spicy spuds and ribs are my favourite, but they also do a greet kebab! Great for money also

I ordered my meal online. Delivery time was one hour and I received my food within 40minutes. Thefood was good the it wasn't that hot so I did have to run it through the microwave to get some heat.I also ordered a samosa to which the insides didn't look or taste great so I threw that. The rest of the meal was tasty.

Ummm... Not brilliant I have to say with a tired interior and an impression of greasy food areas too.The kebab meat was ok, the salad poor, the pitta bread stale and the chips just about edible.Once was enough.., I'd rather go hungry.

Why oh why won't they construct a kebab into the pitta bread like everywhere else? Being presented with a child's TV supper spread with everything separate is miserable. How can you assemble it on the hoof. Much worse to find that the staff co platelet refused to put the meat into the pitta or even slice it open.

Luv the kebabs here but the Nasty girl who calls herself a manager needs 2 take a long good look at her management skills the way she spoke to a staff member was DISGUSTING felt so sorry for the poor girl

Work around plymouth alot and have had babas a good few times and NEVER had any issues, staff are always smiling and laughing and food is always great! Good size portions and good value for money. Would and have recomended it to everyone i work with and none have ever had any problems. Keep it up babas!

1st time getting kebabs from here and omg how awful they was.... Very tasteless and rubbish crap pitta bread. Honstly DON'T waste ur momey

Been a few times, havent been for a while. Got a bit bored of the staff doing me a favour and taking my money for a service. You will not see a smile cracked in this place that is for sure. The food is so so, not cheap but this is the least of their problems.

Fairly routine example. Lot it youngsters seem to hang around. The kebab portions are not that generous and service can be a bit offhand.

Long established take away shop selling mostly doner kebabs. Not sure they sell enough to be sure that the meat hasn't been reheated several times. Mood of the serving staff varies widely. Sometimes it's a grumpy place to come.
