Papa John's Pizza in Plymouth

Charged my bf twice for an order that never was never placed. Guy on the phone was clueless and unwilling to help. Poor service

Order was over an hour late so called them twice, first time they said it was on its way, second time they said it had been delivered but we never got our food!!

ordered twice from here. both times my food never showed up. not a phone call or a knock. don't order from here.

Pizza wasn’t delivered, spent 30 mins trying to get them to pickup the phone after they did they then unplugged there line and we had to get another branch involved who were great help, they finally started to help once the area manager got involved. Overall worse experience as it took 4 hours so what was going to be a treat for lunch turned into dinner.

Where to begin, we ordered a pizza at 12pm, and was told it would get to us at 12:44pm. Not only was it 4 hours late, but we had to spend over a hour on hold. We rang the store but no one was answering. So we let it ring. 40mins of it just ringing, the u plugged the phone. We had to get another branch involved just to get anywhere. It wasn't until the area manager got involved, they finally answered the phone. He gave some BS about it being delivered already, which wasn't true. (this convo was 2 and a half hours in). It took 16 phone calls to that store, 5 to another sore in St Budeaux (woman there was amazing help). But avoid this Muttley store. They don't care and hung up on me when I heard a dog in the background and staff laughing. We finally got our pizza at 4:30pm. The worst experience I've ever had.

Awful. Was signed off as delivered. Called restaurant they said was just cooking would be with us in half hour. Called again told was in car. Over 1 hour later said finally arrived stone cold, wet and made wrong. Branch lied and unhelpful

Over an hour to arrive, cold and stale tasting. Domino’s or Pizza Hut take half the time and taste much nicer on arrival, above all else they arrive HOT

I regret not reading the reviews before ordering! The service is HORRIBLE! The employees have no idea what's going on around them. Delivery takes an average of 3 hours. This is a sick joke.

Worst service and delivery ever! Don't expect to receive your order faster than 2.5 hours. Also the staff is rude, impossible to communicate with. They constantly change the version and pass the phone to each other.

I had to ring the restaurant 3 times to try and cancel it to be told it was on its way, therefore I waited for it outside so no one got woken up but it was never actually on its way. It then said it was delivered when it wasn’t so assumed it wasn’t coming. Then the door got knocked on and caused my dog to bark which woke people up. I always put to call when outside yet this never happens. I found this whole order very frustrating and unprofessional.

food never turned up.I placed the order at 5.26 was told it would be delivered at 6.15 at the latest. 6.30 I called to be told it would be 25 min.30 mins later I called again to be told it will be another 10 min then again I called to be told the same story.it was now 7.00.i appreciate that it's christmas eve,but if I was told upfront that you can't deliver I wouldn't had ordered.I would like a full refund as we didn't receive any food and the service was awful.

Very bad delivery service and very bad customer service when you try to talk to them on the phone they hang up on you.

Delivery never came. Had to call twice for a 45minute delay. They could not reach the delivery driver so gave me a choice of refund or remake and resend.

Food was cold on arriving. Ordered at 3.46pm food arrived 4.56 which was 15 minutes after we got notified it had been delivered. This is the second time this has happened.

Ordered food and after it said the delivery time there was still no arrival on the order, the app then changed to saying delivered so ring the restaurant and just got told it was out for delivery, 20 mins after the phone call and an hour and 25 mins after I put the order in still no food so ring again and no answer and no food delivered either

It took 1hr 35mins to recieve our order for 2 pizzas. We are only 10mins down the road. We called after 45mins, said the driver is in the shop now, won't be long. Called 30mins later, he said its out with the driver. Called 15mins later and asked what was going on and where is our food. It arrived not long after. It was tepid in temperature, the base was like cardboard and the sauce was all dried out and chicken was chewy. Called for a refund and he said his manager isn't in until 12pm tomorrow and call back then. It was inedible however we hate wasting food so ate as much as we could manage! Absolutely disgrace!! Never going back there again! Domino's all the way!!!!!

Why ZERO communication? 2 x items wrong when delivered, but I paid for more expensive items but was substituted so left out of pocket. 😩 Didn't even tell me or offer refund, just swapped and dropped off! Label on box still showed what I ordered but different item inside? 🤦🏼‍♀️ We called 3 x times total after order showed as delivered when it wasn't, just told be there in a min which it wasn't. (If they're out of something, fine, let me know so I can decide if I'm happy to proceed with that change.) Ordered through app. Will just go collect from another place next time so I can communicate with them if any changes.

Restaurant ignored my calls and food never turned up. Zero stars. Kids were waiting for dinner…

The worse service ever. Food ordered at 5:22PM and after 2 hours of waiting, no food and instead a text message saying sorry your delivery was cancelled. Called the restaurant twice and they were no help at all. The restaurant did not know what was going on. Very poorly run. Told me to contact customer services for a refund… wish me luck. Will not be ordering again.

Tracker showed as arriving between a certain time range, showed as delivered after the time range, then wasn't delivered for an hour or so after that time frame, food was cold when it arrived but still tasted pretty good.

Normally food and service are excellent but food was over an hour late and arrived cold. Standard of food is excellent but nobody likes cold pizza disappointed tonight let hope next time is better.

I give 2 stars for service because the female worker was so helpful to get my order sent finally after an hour. The manger of the store should really change his attitude or job he's in the wrong game told me my food would be there in 2 minutes it took 25 he didn't give a shit. The woman was so helpful she should be manager! The food was absolutely dogshit as well only ate it because I was so hungry and couldn't be asked to ask for a refund as it didn't look plausible after what I read online. I never do online reviews but this felt necessary. The food cost £20 so not cheap.

Should have listened to the previous reviews and avoided ordering! Pizza was delivered over an hour late and this was after a follow up call made by my husband. This meant our son missed out on the pizza as he had to go to bed. Food was cold on delivery and there was no apology for the inconvenience of being late. Please take heed of the reviews and avoid ordering from here!

Sadly let down on many levels. Late by an hour at least, largely cold and pizza was not great. Will stick to using dominoes. Shame really as delivering quality is a great strategy in such a competitive market. Perhaps their market is drunken teenagers whose inebriated taste bud will be so senseless that they’ll consume anything. Sadly I will not use again.

My food didn't turn up, no cancellation, no update, just a message saying my order was completed about 4 hours after ordering

2 bad experiences in a row. First time I arrived after the tracker said my food had been collected already. Turned out a delivery driver had taken it out and I had to wait 15 mins for it to come back, they would not make me new food despite me requesting it. 2nd experience tonight, took 50 minutes for them to make my collection order. They'd turned their phone line off so couldnt call to check status before leaving home, drove over after 20 minutes. Order tracking still showed on making my order/first stage. No good will gesture offered. Ordered at 18.25 on a rainy Sunday, didn't get my food til 19.15. Plenty of delivery drivers collecting orders before I got mine, hardly any customer space so had to stand outside in rain. Twice bitten, twice shy - I'll go to Domino's over the road or Fireaway just up the road next time. Pizza also did not have bacon on despite that being on ingredient list.

Order arrived totally messed up. Chicken popper bites replaced with something totally different which isn't on the menu. Pizza arrived burned. Person on the phone tried claiming the Chicken poppers were a new side called Chicken popper bites, when in fact there's nothing remotely chicken about them, and wouldn't listen when we tried to tell him they'd messed the whole order up.

It took too long for delivery. The pizza was cold. We will never order again.

Was ill and bought a pizza on the app, and asked my friend to pick it up with hers. When she got there they refused to give her the pizza even though she had proof of purchase from me, and said that I had to be there even though I wasn’t able to get out of bed. Terrible service. KFC wouldn’t do me like this.

Order didnt even come papa johns had said they had sent off the order but I hadnt recieved it. Waited for over 1 hour and a half in the rain on the pavement and nothing. In the end I had to go up to papa johns and collect the order myself.

I never recieved mt order. Called the restuarant three times to make a change to the postcode as im dyslexic and no one picked up. They delivered the food to the wrong address and after i called to get a refund they said i have to get a refund.

Pizza was great when we eventually got it. Order was 'lost' and remade. waited almost 2 hours for it.

Ordered a pizza bundle. Quick delivery but sadly the pizza was cold and thrown together. We ordered Potato Tots and Chicken Poppers as additional sides , no call to say out of stock but received Jalapeño Bites and Cheesy Bites. Phoned the store and told they had run out of stock, even got the dips wrong!!!!!! No apology, sadly will no longer order any food again.

Just ridiculous, 3hrs for delivery and terrible quality. We did manage to get through on the phone once, an angry guy answered telling me he is on his own and not a miracle maker. The owner of this store really needs to take control, as the whole experience and terrible cold pizzas will drive customers away. This is the first and last time I will order from this store.

Ordered a pizza delivery, arrived cold and very dry, no flavour whatsoever

Do not use these. My order appeared as delivered online. I tried phoning numerous times over the next hour or so, but they didn't answer. Then, an overdone pizza turns up. Overdone because they make the pizza on the order and keep it warm for over an hour before sending it out for delivery. I've never had an issue with Dominoes!

Ordered the summer saver which was advertised as 2 pizzas. PJ only processed one on the order. Phoned store and they refused to send another out saying it was not ordered! But we paid for it! The advert clearly says 2 medium pizzas in the deal. They should know that even if the system is incorrect! Not happy

We ordered our on Uber eats and took over an hour to come! We rang the store twice and on the second time the guy was very rude to my partner! The food arrived after the guy was outside for 30 minutes and didn’t try to contact us! The food was freezing cold so we’ve had to reheat it! Not happy at all and don’t order it off Uber eats as they take the piss

Ordered a delivery for 2245, checked the app it changed it to 2345. We didn't get the delivery until 0045. The store doesn't answer it's phone no matter when you call them. Overall terrible service. Cold food and they don't even want to talk to you.

Still waiting on our food, ordered at 6.30, it’s now 8.30 and accord to their app it’s been keeping warm for an hour… can’t say I’m looking forward to receiving it! Shouldn’t even be a busy night but still not collected by the driver 🤦‍♀️

Absolutely horrendous service. Ordered at 7.25 for delivery an hour later. Store told me waiting for a driver at 8.30. Then store didn’t answer the phone until finally food arrived at 9.45pm cold!!! Disgraceful

🤬 OMG where to start…. Wish I read the reviews before I even bothered. So pre ordered a pizza @ 20:00 for 22:45 it was late the pizza didn’t leave until gone 23:00 but even more frustrating it didn’t arrive until 23:25. Given all this time I get the wrong pizza and sides after attempting to call they answered and hung up on me. Absolute 🦮💩 food and service never again better quality from the ASDA pizza bar.

A waste of £20. I’ve had better basic pizzas from a supermarket. I had a Hawaiian, not that you’d have known, due to its miserly topping of ham and pineapple. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother.

We used to love papa johns but it’s gone down hill massively. We have tried to order it 5 or 6 times and it’s always been cancelled but it actually arrived this time. Shame, I wish it hadn’t, we ended up putting the pizza and sides in the oven to heat up for a bit and that at least made it warm. Don’t bother tbh, we won’t be getting it again. It was cold and undercooked and was really basic.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE!!! No customer care given wait over an hour for your food no drink delivered or any dips with your side an know one let's you know of this even after ringing to see where your order is and after all of this your food isn't even warm let alone hot it tasted like rubber and was absolutely disgusting then when you ring up to make a complaint or raise concerns you get the phone put down on you absolute disgusting service from start to finish especially considering how much a takeaway costs these days. If i could give zero stars i would. I received a vegan pizza with HAM on. Clearly an absolutely disgusting "joke" played by whoever made the pizza. Not happy AT ALL.

I had a bad experience from here 6 months ago and swore I'd never order again. But I did and it's still terrible. I even ordered in advance hoping that it would arrive on time. It was still 30mins late, cold and rubbery. The staff or manager here obviously don't give an F about their jobs. Don't even bother ordering from here.

Easily the worst Papa John’s branch I’ve ever encountered. Took 2 hours to get our Pizzas, which is shocking considering it’s a 5 minute drive away - why charge for delivery or even offer it if you can’t deliver a pizza? I called up and the girl on the phone lacked the initiative to fain any level of customer service - Pizzas arrived in the dual state of being both burned and stone cold, as well as being frugally topped. I order Papa John’s once a month, but when doing so from this particular branch always have to call after an hour and find out where our food is. At least we’re all lucky enough to be in a position to order pizza, given the state of everything, but don’t waste time doing so from this branch of Papa John’s :(

Great pizza, and it's even cheaper if you pick it up. The staff were friendly and funny. The customer size of things is quite small and there isn't anywhere to sit so just bear in mind if you have trouble standing or are in a wheelchair.
