Lovely pub, lovely staff but food was so over priced. A portion of chips (£4.50 for a very small portion, £6.25 for 2 very small scoops of icecream).

Room on the small side. Younger members of staff in the bar / restaurant busy chatting to each other while customers waited for menu's or to order drinks at the bar.

Great location for us to meet with family. We only ate and didn’t stay over.

The whole say was excellent, lovely rooms, excellent service with friendly staff and great food. Would not hesitate to stay again!

What a lovely place to stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, the food was excellent and plenty to choose from on the menu. The added bonus of being dog friendly made our stay even better, I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

19 of us visited as a group from our MG club. The service was excellent, the food was great and the staff were brilliant.

Last day on our stay at Avon Causeway was a disaster. I ordered a pint of cider, received a pint of bitter. After complaining it was changed.Later on asked for a bottle of white wine received a bottle of red. Had to wait forty five minutes for our food order.We were told the steak specials which were advertised on there Thursday menue were withdrawn by butcome. This is despite it being shown on the butcome loyalty app as available. Finally we asked if they could store my dogs food in there fridge it was in a sealed container with our room number on it. I was informed it was in the breakfast fridge. The member of staff couldn't find it. It was found after a phone call. Day one of a two day stay was great. Shame day two let it down. Also on the last day after our meal I asked if I could order a desert, as the member of staff didn't come back, to take my order I went back to my room..

Booked it last minute to see family staying in Bournemouth. Easily accessible from the A338 so traffic noise was expected otherwise lovely and remote setting. Massive bed but small en-suite and good supply of ground coffee/tea biscuits and water. Friendly staff on check in and also at breakfast. We enjoyed the Full English Breakfast. Would definitely return.

Excellent food and very courteous service. Rooms are very spacious and clean, with all of the amenities one would expect.

Just back from a 3 night stay at this really nice comfortable and welcoming hotel. The staff Amanda and Sarah are such happy and friendly hosts. The breakfast is gorgeous.Thank you from the 4 dubliners.

Having checked the website to ensure food was being served we arrived to be grunted at at the bar being told there was no food. We were then told there was 'Ploughman's Lunch' sadly only one! We shared this under protest, terrible, bread was stale, no cheese at all for £16.95. General experience was very below average, avoid.

Friendly and efficient. Room was comfortable and clean. Very helpful in meeting individual requests. Highly recommended.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Shower was amazing, best in any hotel I've stayed in and there was a hairdryer Net curtains were black with dirt and torn, not what you'd expect for the price of the room. Breakfast was perfect. Served piping hot and was delicious. Breakfast service on the 8th July was impeccable, the waitress was super friendly and made us all feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.

The rooms are very nice to the smallest details. Stayed in a family room with 3 beds (of which one was a sofa bed). Very clean and elegantly decorated. The building was a refurbished old train station, very charming little place. Staff also very friendly and nice; treated us very nicely although we arrived later than the normal check in times. Would definitely come back.

Didn't like the surcharge on our dinner bill.

Booked last minute due to last minute condor changes. Hotel is very good. Helpful staff and breakfast included.

Great location and reasonably price menu

I had such a lovely stay at the Avon Causeway, the hosts were so friendly and accommodating and there were lovely personal touches such as homemade biscuits (so yummy) in the room and 'proper' milk for tea instead of those little tubs that are never quite enough. Wonderful breakfast (and doggy guests get one too!)! The room was good, very clean and the bed was super comfy. I did go during a heat wave, so although I'm sure this is usually not an issue, the room did feel very hot overnight, even with the windows open (unfortunately no air-conditioning), but we were provided with a fan that definitely helped. Overall, just a great stay and I would definitely go back!

I have stayed here before, but only popped in this time whilst waiting for a flight arrival at Hurn. Excellent selection of beer, good location and friendly staff.

The children took me there for father's day lunch. Although the food was nice the service spoiled the whole event to the point they had to chase the drinks order and go to the bar to order our desserts. Very disappointed as the venue is really beautiful.

The quality of the food is very very good. I feel like the place lacks a bit of soul. It needs a snug maybe, a bar area that really encourages you to stay for hours near the fire, sit outside under heaters with a blanket maybe? Almost every table is layed up like a resturant. It's a Pub... I get you want to push food but you need to get the balance right. The seasonal salads are excellent. Ale even better.

Beautiful pub with nicely appointed rooms. Rooms are a bit on the warm side. Food is excellent quality & service is friendly & quick. Very much enjoyed my 2 nights here.

Great find, near Bournemouth airport, an old railway station with carriages. Lovely rooms, very nice, polite staff and tasty food. Can park your car whilst on holiday! A breakfast bag was provided for our early flight. Highly recommend!

This is a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Have just left after our 4th stay and will be going back. We love it. It is a lovely area and such a unique looking place as its historical beginnings was a train station. It is relaxed and there is no pretentious feel about the place. Sarah is proffessional, efficient and approachable. She works very hard and her team are great. I can’t praise it enough. This is our bolt hole and a trip to Southbourne beach is a must.

We stayed Saturday night to enjoy a weekend away for Father’s Day. The room was perfect for us as a family of four with a dog, comfortable beds and very very clean! We had a lovely dinner and breakfast, food and service was amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is now our favourite place to stay if we come to mudeford.

First time using this facility , because it was also going to be our first time using Bournemouth Airport. So pleased we did use the Avon Causeway as the staff were all polite and helpful , the room was wonderful and the food for the evening and breakfast was great. It literally only took a 5 minute drive to the airport . We will definitely be using Avon Causeway again in the future for us to use the airport to get us to France 🇫🇷 Thanks for everything Stephen & Marina

Me and my daughter stayed the night here. The food was lovely and the staff were really friendly, Amanda the manager was really friendly during breakfast service and made us feel very welcome. Lovely place. 😀

Visited here for an evening meal which was very nice. The food was very well presented, tasty and a fair price. Wednesday has 25 per cent off if you belong to the Butcombe app so works out to be a good deal. At the moment as the road is closed over the flyover bridge they are offering a free drink if you dine with them. Very pleasant staff. Would definitely return.

The pub has a big and varied menu. Pleasant staff and a comfy atmosphere. Old railway memorabilia adds interest.

Visited for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed- had the roast pork which was served with excellent roast potatoes, a selection of vegetables followed by the crumble. Staff were very polite and attentive - well worth the visit and will be returning very soon.....

A really lovely weekend spent at The Avon Causeway hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, as were Amanda and Sarah. Lovely ladies who made us feel very at home. I would recommend the Avon Causeway to anyone after a lovely weekend experience around the Christchurch, Lymington area of Dorset. An ideal spot to stay. Thank you to all at the Avon Causeway.
