The food is superb every time we visit, the staff are friendly and very accommodating. There is always a very nice and welcoming atmosphere.

Popped in here around 4pm for an impromptu Sunday lunch on the way home. Friendly staff, quick service and large portions! There's a special Sunday menu with option of up to three courses. Selection in all courses is good and there were several specials on. We got the fish and chips and roast beef dinner and were happy out.

My parents have been going to " The Auld House" for many years now and when home I always push for a meal there with them. Cracking food, very friendly and 100% recommend this place.

Been going to the Auld House for many years. Food excellent, never had an issue and staff very attentive. It's open on a Monday when many places are not. Good parking with easy access to the Bar / Restaurant area.

Massively over charged, food was not nice at all. Fish supper was not nice at all, lasagna was discussing, kids didn't like the burgers and the toastie was not nice either. Service was terrible, we booked for a large number and they put us two people short. The suggestions by the staff to fit the two other people in was a joke and we ended up having to re-arrange things ourselves as the staff were no help. Food was not brought out all tougher, and some people were finished when others were getting their food. Some deserts were even forgotten, and we had to ask to get them. Overall, not a great experience and I wouldn't recommend at all.

Meal very dry. Asked for gravy charged £1 for it. Wouldn't recommend.

Just had a lovely meal at the Auld House. The steak and Guiness pie was really nice. The staff were very friendly and Steven who bought our food made us feel very welcome as we are visiting from London. Tried our first Guiness as well!

This venue was chosen to bring friends and family together following the funeral of a very dear man. The room was well laid out and warm, the service was excellent and the nibbles were very tasty. An ideal choice for a big gathering.

Very Poor Had not been there for over a year as the last time we had dinner it was poor /bad but as our local was booked up decided to give it another go roast beef [boiled beef] tasteless, gravy like water and the veg were rubbish boiled stupid, chips were luke warm . There was lots on the menu but the first 3 item we asked for were not available The place was cold and the front door kept sticking open and the noise level was high Staff were doing there best but sorry will not be back

Loud crowd of lads in the main bar shouting and getting on. Not helped by the pool table dragging them in. Didn’t feel comfortable. Restaurant on the other side wasn’t busy but told us we had to go next door to just get a drink, Would never go back.

Ordered Christmas Dinner completely tastless,roast potatoes were like a brick,vegetables in the bowl were tastless especially the cubed turnip or was it parsnip to be honest I couldn't tell what they were as above mentioned tastless Christmas lunch menu ie Turkey Dinner £25 on the normal bar menu £17.95? work that one. I can honestly say this was the worst Xmas Dinner I have ever had to the point I actually left most off it on the plate.

Beautiful spot. Food was amazing and generous portions.

As a party of 11 we all enjoyed the various meals which were of good sized portions and served by friendly staff. Will call again.

Great place for hosting events.

I used The Auld House for the wake after my mother's funeral. I'd ordered the tea and coffee with sandwiches and tray bake option. The sandwiches were traditional in terms of filling and none the worse for it. They were fresh and tasty, especially the roast beef, and the tray backs were excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. Recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal celebrating my Dad's birthday. There was 6 of us went for steak night. The steaks were cooked the way we wanted and were delicious. Staff were friendly and very helpful bringing out the birthday cake and plates so we could have it for dessert. Will definitely be back. 😊

Absolutely lovely food and even better staff. Looked after by Stephen and another young waiter. Couldn’t have done anymore to make sure we had a great evening. Had a vegetarian and a vegan in our group and they had fantastic options to please everyone, highly recommend

Went for my brother in laws 70th Birthday lunch on a Sunday afnoon. As there was a large group we had pre-ordered. My first visit there and really enjoyed our afternoon. Food was excellent staff friendly and efficient. Good size car park. Would def recommend

Meal was lovely. Been years since I've been there after going years ago with my grandad for lunch. Even remember the staff from back then who were on the evening I visited recently.

Generous portions given and the staff were bending over backwards for us and our wee girl. Went with the missus as you do as we were over from Birmingham staying down the road and we loved it. Next time we are over, we are rinsing you for your Steak night and taking advantage of your wonderfully poured Guinness! Thank you for giving us a great time and making us feel valued

The food has always been great and still is, except for the sticky toffee sauce, it’s the toffee sauce you get from a squeezy bottle that you would put on ice cream definitely not the the sauce that should ever be served with a sticky toffee pudding cake, it really lets itself down in doing this. I know people may say I’m being trivial by writing this review but you’re paying for a sticky toffee pudding with toffee/caramel sauce and they give you this. 🙄

Food and service was excellent. Fish and chips were cooked perfectly, and the turkey and ham was lovely. Desserts were very good, the pavlova was excellent, best I've had.

Went to the Auld House today for the first time. Friendly welcome and nice table. Quick service, food was perfect. I had fish and chips, other members of family had the turkey and ham which was lovely, plenty of fresh seasonal vegetables. Dessert was even better, I had Pavalova which came with a side of fresh fruit, other dessert ordered was sponge cake with jam and coconut and custard. The meal was lovely.

Good plain food but menu seems the vary very little. It seems to have remained much the same for years.

Food was good apart from the roast potatoes they were over cooked and tough to eat. The menu choice was good but I do feel everything was over priced including the drinks. You can eat nicer meals for cheaper elsewhere.

Absolutly first class. Good honest pub grub, piping hot and generous portions. Staff offer a warm welcome. May I say too the bar, restaurant and toilets are kept spotlessly clean.

We had my mother's wake here on Monday (16th Jan) the buffet was meant to be for 35 people at £9.95 a head, there was barely enough food for 20 people. Quite a few of the sandwiches were at best dry, at worst, the bread was hard. I had to keep apologising to people because I was totally mortified at the lack of quality and quantity of the buffet Update: what we took home with us was cocktail sausages as that was the only thing there was an abundance of. I'd like to know how you justify charging almost £350for 2 plates of sandwiches 1 plate of sausage rolls and one plate of cocktail sausages

Been into The Auld House a few times, since moving to the area. Good is top notch and fresh. Well priced also. Can’t wait to get back for a sizzler.

I would find it difficult to fault this establishment, from the atmosphere, large car parking, warmth, friendly staff, quick reply to emails, compensative menu and ESPECIALLY the quality and taste of the food. (at VERY completive prices) Normally I am quite hard to please, but if I lived closer, I would be a regular visitor. GREAT staff and GREAT lounge bar.

All house burger is a must. Was absolutely gorgeous with garlic cubes and pepper sauce. Thank me later!!!

Had a meal yesterday and was disappointed in the quality esp for the price . Chicken goujons didn’t look as if they had been even cooked .I had gammon which was so tough and chewy I couldn’t eat . Also it was a bit of ham ,chips and a bit of lettuce and half a tomato for £17 . We have never had a bad meal before and that’s why we chose the auld house as you can always be sure of a good meal but unfortunately wasn’t up to the standard at all yeasterday

Food was fantastic. Excellent value for money. Great portion sizes. Lovely staff & good service. We will definitely be back because there are lots of other dishes we would like to try.

We recently had a Christmas night out here for 6 adults. It was a 3 course dinner for £26.95. Well worth the money with generous portions of piping hot food and a good choice of menu. All served quickly and efficiantly by the waiting staff. Will definately be back again.

Been here before and it was great, this experience wasn't as good. Food looked cheap such as starter of garlic bread charged at £5.95. Looked like something bought from spar, out of a packet. Garlic mushrooms also £5.95, in total 2 1/2 mushrooms dressed up to look like more. Chicken wings just ok. Mains, lasagne was far from home made, looked like heated in micro from a packet and some cheese added on top. Burger was nice. Chips are excellent. £73 spent, was expecting better tbh. I understand restaurants are looking to cut costs but I think this place has went a little too far. Need to up game for me to consider going back and spending £73.

Right on our doorstep, first time I have been to this place in years, rump steak was lovely and mum really enjoyed her scampi main! Lovely service by a girl named Victoria I believe. Would be lovely to see it being supported by locals again as for a friday night at around 7pm the restaurant was auite quiet

Very nice food and friendly service

Very friendly staff with a wide range of food to choose from. They also had a roast of the day which was roast beef which was outstanding, definitely returning!

Stopped in to the bar to watch the all Ireland final. Sky Sports available and staff/locals were great. Good Guinness and would recommend. Hopefully stop in again in the future.

Me and the wife called in for lunch today 29th June 22. Friendly staff pity about the food. We ordered one peppered chicken sizzler and one Peppered steak sizzler. The meals came around 20mins later which is perfectly acceptable however neither meal tasted of pepper sauce more like just gravy? Mentioned this to the waitress who was very polite and returned with a newly made jug of peppered sauce. This had a slight hint of pepper. One meal had garlic cubes as a side these were also fairly tasteless without even a hint of garlic. We have been to the Auld house a far few times pre covid and found no problems with our 😒meals. Disappointed to say the least Won`t be returning 😒
