Binky's in Castlereagh

We had breakfast recently on a Sunday morning . Service was friendly and efficient and food was tasty and enjoyed . Our only complaint was that it was a bit expensive .

The place was busy when we arrived around 3pm. The waitress said she’d seat us in a moment but we were left standing there for several minutes. Can’t really blame the restaurant for the overly shouty patrons who seemed to want everyone within a 2 mile radius to hear their pretentious chatter. It just made everything rather loud and unpleasant. We ordered the fish and chips and chicken goujons with a milkshake. The fish wasn’t great. The goujons were crispy but rather tasteless. Milkshake was very nice but not a very generous amount to warrant the £4.50 price tag. Overall it’s fine if you want a quick bite in the middle of a trip, but it’s not somewhere I would intentionally go.

Supremely overpriced! £14.50 for an omelette and a cup of tea. Please stop ripping your customers off. A fancy teapot doesn’t cut the mustard…I’ll consider returning when I see reasonable prices.

Great little discovery this afternoon. Lovely atmosphere and the cakes are amazing!!! Well worth popping over for a cuppa, lunch and a natter

Plenty of parking outside We came around lunchtime and the place was pretty busy but we were seated right away at an empty table. Decor was quite quirky. There was a good choice on the menu for lunch and nice looking desserts in fridge. Plenty of pastries as well which looked good. Staff weren't too interested really. We ordered a chicken wrap and french toast with maple syrup and berries. We also got 2 coffees. Presentation of food was lovely but unfortunately the taste didn't match. My friends wrap looked huge but it consisted mainly of red cabbage. Hardly any chicken inside and she spent most of the time picking the cabbage and salad out as it wasn't fresh. The brioche fren h toast was burnt . There wasn't the usual burnt taste but rather the taste of a dirty grill on it. When I cut into it , it was like a sponge with raw egg pouring out. The berries came in a little pot covered in a sauce. The berries were definitely past their date. They tasted if nothing but mould that I could still taste right into the next day. Absolutely horrible. Because I'd poured them over almost the whole thing , then it was all inedible. The banoffe pie (which was ordered by my friend) was OK. Bland with a soggy base but tasted fresh enough. We waited until the end for our coffee, despite asking for it 3 times. Either the milk was sour or they never clean the coffee machine because the sour taste of it was extremely strong and we couldn't drink that either. All this set us back a grand total of £41:80 ! So very overpriced esp when you didn't enjoy it. I'm.not one to complain so we just left . I doubt anyone would have been that interested in our complaint anyway. Bathroom was clean but no soap for handwashing. All in all , there are lots of nice places around this area , I'd skip this one.

Three of us had a delicious lunch on Wednesday . There was a queue which was well organised and we didn't have long to wait . Service was excellent , friendly and efficient . Our food was piping hot and much enjoyed.

when we entered we were told to call back in 25 mins when there would have been a queue and us at the back of it, , the idiot male server who ordered this we ignored and headed to a table were a couple were leaving , order was two large breakfasts frie and two pots of tea ,which was the worst in uk and ireland , the fry was rancid , soaked in grease totally uneatable, the worst in belfast , we will never be back in this expensive almost £30 hell hole , 36 cafe a few doors away was 10 outa 10 ,,,

My wife and myself used to visit Binky's quite often but being coeliac my meal wasn't always gluten free as it should have been. So now we just give it a bye ball, and eat where we can trust our meals to be correct.

WARNING CHEESECAKE LOVERS - jelly like cheesecake, soft base no texture. Like eating baby food. Even two of us had the cheesecake, big regret. One of us got chocolate cake, was mid. More chocolate sauce than cheesecake. Will stick with cafe mauds homemade style cheesecake.

Went in, asked for a table for 3, was told the wait would be 20 minutes even though there was at least 6 tables of 2 available. The assistant refused to pull a chair from another table. We went up the road to No.36 cafe. A much better cafe.

Was meeting a friend for lunch here, had heard good reviews about the place. Arrived and noticed that although there was a small queue, we were the only group of 2 and noticed 2 empty tables for 2 sitting empty and ready for use. You’ve to wait at the door to be seated. The staff were back and forwards past us numerous times as we stood there for at least 5 minutes. As they went past they deliberately avoided eye contact each time, and no one greeted us, or acknowledged us. Others were coming in behind us and with no service whatsoever, 2 pairs of visitors left. We were getting fed up waiting and being deliberately ignored. Stopped a staff member and asked for a table for two. He was rude and abrupt, muttered something, handed us a menu and walked off. I called after him that there were 2 empty tables which we could use. He ignored me and walked away. At this point we decided to cut our losses and we left. Very bad customer service and rude staff who deliberately avoided eye contact as they repeatedly walked past us. A quick and simple “we’ll be with you in a moment” or “sorry, there may be a short wait”, or even just an acknowledgment that we and others were queuing would have been polite. But none of this, we may as well have not been there. First impressions last and I’ll remember the way we were treated and I’ll not be back. I’d give it a miss if I were you. Shame because the food looked nice and I’d heard good reports. But they clearly couldn’t handle lunchtime which I wouldn’t have described as busy. As I said, there were several empty tables which we could have been directed to. There’s no space for queuing so the staff, and there are plenty of them, just no one taking charge, really need to up their game to even get customers in the door to stay while they faff around and ignore new arrivals. Our lunch in the Secret Garden just up the road was first class, we were immediately made to feel welcome, and had our table and food ordered in minutes!

It's my birthday !!! And we love the food, Desserts here !! So I could off went anywhere for my birthday treat.. but I wanted to go here.... Got our seats and ordered I wanted a yummy fish and chips 🍟.. Didn't wait that long for our food to come, my daughters looked so delicious and so did my husbands food... well my fish and chips came, don't get me wrong I know we do get hard chips among our chips !!! But wtf was the chefs on... my chips must off been reheated that many times that they should off been put in the bin !!! And the fish we will not go there..... I did say to one off the staff and she went ok hold on a minute !!! So we waited, and waited and waited... by this time everyone had finished there dinner !!! So I called someone and just handed her my plate, and told her I wanted food that I could eat !!! Another staff member came over to see what, and why.. told her, she kept on Apologizing, it's wasn't her it was the cook, (so not a chefs ) she did ask to replace it, offer cake etc but I wasn't in the mood !!! Got a ten pound voucher for next time !!! But sorry I will not be back !!! Until the cook does learns that if he wouldn't eating, nor would the one's who are paying for it !!! 🤔

£6.30 for two take away cups of tea in the branch beside the cinema. I don’t think I need to say anymore, extremely overpriced.

Called into Binkys a while back for some breakfast. I opted for the Avo Eggs. Just beautiful. Will definitely be back to check out the rest of their menu.

It was my first time back here in several years. I came for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. The club sandwich was very tasty and a decent size. I had a coffee afterwards which was also nice. The staff were friendly but the only negative thing was that once we had finished our meal it took quite a long time for the plates to be cleared.

Meat free breakfast served with pork sausages. Poached eggs served with pieces of shell still on. Avacado breakfast served with the stone on toast. Chef must have been hung over from the weekend as a basic rookie wouldn't make these mistakes. Will never be back, we all felt suck the rest of the day.

We visited earlier today and had coffee's and a HUMUNGOUS scone! This one scone was perfect to eat between us as it was soooo large but my was it delicious! The pastry chef obviously knows his/her craft as the scone was light and the texture was gorgeous.

Binky's in Dundonald used to be great but we haven't been there in a good while so when we were given gift vouchers we went there today for lunch. We were put at a table beside the front door. I asked if we could be seated somewhere else but was told that was the only table. However, shortly after we sat down other people arrived and they opened an adjoining section for them. Recently met a few friends for coffee in Binkys and must say the selection of food was fantastic. Although I opted for a fresh baked scone on the day I will definitely be back to avail of the lunch options. Coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

It was great to see that all procedures were being taken seriously and adhered to . We felt safe and comfortable . Staff were all pleasant and helpful . The breakfast was delicious and much enjoyed by both of us .

Binky’s Dundonald is lovely, never had an issue wonderful staff and beautiful coffee and scones, however I recently visited Binky’s on the Belmont road, the male waiter we encountered was extremely arrogant, I don’t understand how a person can be so rude & condescending.We will definitely return to your Dundonald cafe in the future but will give Belmont road a miss.Thank you.

I was recommended to try Binkys for breakfast ! so today a friend and I decided to try on the way to a appointment, can honestly say I was not overly impressed!! I have to admit the breakfast was lovely but the staff on the other hand wasn’t so lovely!! On arrival we were shown to our table and given menus, within minutes the waitress was over asking “were we ready to order?” I politely said “no! Can we have a few moments please?” To which she rolled her eyes and walked away! We finally ordered and while waiting there was more and more people arriving. As there is a good size dining area I thought they would of spread customers out a little but I was wrong! They seemed to put everyone around the same area near front window which confused a few customers as there was plenty of room to have a safer distant between everyone who was there while we were there.. You can honestly tell who are more regular customers as they were greeted in a more pleasantly manner!! Breakfast arrived and I have to admit it was good which was great but as I was leaving I asked another member of staff “have you a bathroom?” To which she pointed and said “there” .. They could of done with a little help too ! As toilet holder was broke and toilet roll lying on floor and no soap in dispenser !! I can honestly say no matter how good the food was I will never go back to Binkys be made feel like that again and really suggest they pick better staff with better personalities in future as I’m sure they eat out themselves in different restaurants and wouldn’t like to be greeted the way we were!!!! Very disappointed !!

We love to come to binkys never disappoints i had the caesar salad which is always delicious, my son loves the club sandwich and my daughter had the all day breakfast the staff are always friendly and wore their masks, hand sanitizer on the way in and we use it on the way out. Never disappoints

Excellent menu and friendly service. We took our two grandsons,aged 10&12 and there was plenty for them to choose from.The 10 year old had an enormous burger and the 12 he old demolished a rump steak.My husband had terrific fish and chips while I had a beautiful chicken dish from the specials.We were all so full that we couldn't manage a desert each and the waitress kindly brought 1 desert and 4 plates so that we were all able to sample!Great value and delicious food.

Absolutely georgous steak with sweet potato fries and a large coke, the steak was cooked to perfection it was absolutely delicious.

Had a meal with friends after cinema. Appearance of food ordered was so off-putting although it tasted ok. Not as good as I remembered it.

Went on an impulse and to use up Christmas vouchers with my husband. Decided to have the 2 course menu. I would travel the country for a good chowder. Today I didn’t have to go too far. It was to die for. Fully loaded with scrummy king prawns, salmon, cod and smoked haddock. Wasn’t sure about the bacon, but it just added to its deliciousness. And two pieces of wheaten. Best chowder I’ve ever tasted. Be back again for that. This was followed by a huge portion of roasted turkey and ham, roast and masked potato and loads of fresh veg; parsnips, carrots and purple sprouting broccoli. We both loved everything about the food. Only problem was our eyes were bigger than our stomachs.

Came here for lunch with daughter,my first time, staff where excellent very friendly and quickly took our order, I had Lasagna my daughter had a Chicken burger both meals were excellent and plentiful, most definitely recommend Binky,s

Went for our daughters Birthday as they cater for Coeliacs. Unfortunately, my jacket potato was not cooked properly. The staff kindly offered to rectify that but still very hard and even the butter was not melting I could not eat it. One two members of our party of 5 adults had the same problem but did not want to say anything as you were waiting rather along time in general to get food. They did decorate our area beautifully and the staff were extremely helpful and apologetic. They also gave us all free Sundaes as a goodwill gesture. Thank you for your kindness but unfortunately we will not be returning.

Have been to Binkys a couple of times recently and the food has been delicious, took relatives for dinner at the weekend and they were impressed, could specially recommend the fish and chips, Sunday Roast and Philly steak sandwich. The staff are friendly, the food comes extremely quickly.

Called in today after dinner to grab a couple of hot drinks and relax before a movie. We were seated infront of the counter and were given menus. They staff didnt seem to be in any rush even tho it was a saturday lunchtime. A lot of standing about and 2 of them even thought their mobile phones were more important than serving customers. We waited 15 minutes to place our order and when no-one had returned to us, we left. Very disappointed.

First visit to Binkys in Dundonald today and was met with what appeared a long line of customers. Big group in front us us waiting to be seated, yet a few empty tables that would have suited our party of three, including pensioner with walking difficulties. Asked staff could they facilitate seating and was told from supervisor, wait in line. Not happy but luckily only had to wait about ten minutes for seat. Our server attended promptly and returned with drinks, followed in double quick time with our meals. All the food was well presented, large portions and cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef and staff, food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Recently visited Binkys for lunch ordered a baked potato with tuna and cheese what an awful mess it was The potato was cold the tuna was not warmed up and the cheese was squashed on top if Gordon Ramsey a famous chef had seen that he would have read them the riot act! no server came over to ask me how my meal was so much for good manners

Seven of us visited for a pre Christmas breakfast which was to mark our grandson’s 10th birthday. We were made very welcome, seated at a great table and breakfast order taken. Everyone had something different, the food came quickly and was all delicious. The staff had a little cake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to great delight. I cannot explain how great this place is! I visited on Sunday 8th Dec and everything was just excellent; the food was delicious and didn’t have to wait for long periods between courses, which I thought might have been the case due to it being so busy. The staff in Binky’s Kitchen were so friendly and attentive, and were particularly kind to my 18 month old daughter, Tilly, even though she was being a rascal! Cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

Attention to detail use to be second to none in Binkys but for a while now customer service is seriously lacking, the staff all seem to have changed and the new staff just don’t seem to care I use to visit here regularly for my morning coffee and scone but I’m so put off now by the dirty tables and staff that just ignore you, so disappointing to see such a great place going so down hill.

Came here for brunch. Got seated and ordered our drinks and food. My deluxe hot chocolate was amazing would defo recommend!! I got the avacado and eggs which was alright and my friend got the big fry. Had high expectations from previous Visits to Binkys, but was so disappointed in my family meal out for my Birthday . It was not overly busy , staff missed customers sitting with young Children that ended up having their meals put in boxes to go home as children were so fed up waiting . Our mains were so very boring and the desserts where stale and disgusting 2 different dried out slices of manky chocolate cake and a 3rd attempt on a chocolate brownie that tasted and looked like it had been the window displayed one for 6 years I asked for mine to be taken off the bill as none where eatable, which was done . I originally asked if my child could get an extra scoop of ice cream as I was not having with. My dessert I got a rotten shrug and told if he wanted from our so called waitress with an attitude. Left very very disappointed especially as it was my Birthday. Going to the dogs . Such a shame .

The things we had were beautiful but it was over 17 quid for 2 puddings and 2 drinks. V noisy as it is busy and very popular. Staff were dead on.

I hate to leave reviews and I never go out of my way for bad fed back, but I feel very strongly about this needing addressed. I used to be a regular customer of Binkys and could not of rated it any higher than excellent, but due to standards slipping dramatically with customer service and cleanliness I will be taking my custom elsewhere. My last few visits there was six to eight plus very dirty tables staff gathered behind the till or on there phones not showing us any interest or the other two tables that was in, who I can only presume was the manager in charge was standing making herself a cup of tea while we where trying to get someone’s attention she then just walked passed us with her tea and that’s the last we seen of her, the mess or that fact that no one had been served seemed to not bother her. We then left no one seemed to noticed or care. The staff used to be amazing in Binkys which is mostly why we went that and the amazing cakes so sad to see an amazing coffee shop go so down hill. Train your new staff and manager. I actually rang to talk to the manager after leaving to tell of our disappointment and the young girl didn’t seem to know where she was shocking.

Order was all wrong. Staff inattentive. Ordered cake and it was as hard as a brick was offered a fresher piece from a freshly baked cake but I declined. Why not give the fresh cake in the first place? Food ok toast wasn’t toasted soup was cold. Would not recommend either cafe or kitchen part both not good quality and expensive for what you get.

Food was very good Staff pleasant and helpful we really enjoyed our visit and would go back again. All of us were happy with the food and service. Well done folks

Called in today for cake and coffee, spoilt for choice with all the yummy desserts. Waiting staff very friendly and helpful. I intend to go back and try something from the lunch menu.

My first time visiting here. My friend & i called in on a whim. Although it was very busy we got seated straight away. It did feel rushed & we had plenty of time to eat. The food was lovely, the service is great too. Although I didn't try any of the baked goods, tgey looked totally amazing. Id definitely would recommend & will visit again

The menu is somewhat limited although there are some pleasant offerings. On my last 6 visits I have found the waiting staff to have a certain "attitude" and indifference that makes the experience somewhat cold and businesslike. The prices appear ok but when the food is delivered it does tend to look like poor VFM. I visited here recently with a friend, who paid the bill. When we left, we were followed out to the car park by a waitress, who said "I think you need to pay" !! She was quite adamant that we had walked out without paying and was fairly rude about it. My friend found the receipt in his wallet and showed it to her, at which point she said "Oh alright then" and went back inside the building. (no apology!)

Just had Sunday lunch ... Turkey and Ham etc and was indeed very very good . The only hiccup was that it was not overly warm but there Was no problem in having it changed and came back out piping hot The service was excellent

Went in to try and enjoy a Birthday dinner.

We came for lunch and a bun. Waited for half an hour to be seen while watching one blonde waitress, wearing heavy makeup with a dragonfly tattoo in particular walk around aimlessly avoiding eye contact with us. Contemplated just walking out. While the food was tasty we were really disappointed paying so much for our food to be let down by terrible service and rude waitresses. It seemed only one waitress with brown hair was actually doing anything. Fed up...still waiting for our dessert !

Visited Binkys today for lunch (15th Aug) and had the Rump Steak Flatbread. I wanted to take the time to say compliments to the chef as it was amazing and great value (8.99)...menu has good range though would say desserts are on the expensive side.

Portion sizes are good but I found my burger was a little bit on the bland side. Prices are about average and the waitress didn't really show much enthusiasm

Heard a lot of positive reports about this place so thought we would give it a try. Although the service was good. The breakfast was pretty average. Bacon advertised as American crispy bacon was actually thick non crispy bacon. The fry up was good portion and well cooked. The coffee was quite tasteless.

I go here at least once a week with my best friend. We are always made extremely welcome! The best German biscuits in Belfast! The staff are all friendly and professional. What a surprise we got when we turned up on Tuesday night! The staff were rushed off their feet, apologising as they hadn't time for their usual hospitality! I like being served at my table. It's a little luxury. I pass by several coffee shops to go to Binkys but if this new rule remains, I'll have to rethink. Food great, staff excellent, such a pity my experience here has been destroyed after all this time

Called for lunch 1st time visiting. Nice big portions, friendly and pleasant staff nice family atmosphere fully recommend

We needed an early, light lunch and called in here. We all fancied the soup, which was a traditional Irish vegetable broth. It came pretty quickly, but we all thought it could have been a bit warmer and even with added salt and pepper, felt a bit under seasoned. The wheaten bread was good however. Whilst we didn’t try them, the choice of cakes looked great and very generous. Was ok and nothing really bad.

This is a gem of a restaurant, the food is excellent and the the customer is fantastic. My wife says the the Lemon Meringue cake is the best she has ever tasted, he Latte was perfect and my Pavlova was great. This is certainly a great place for all the family.

Really lovely food: Sandwiches were delicious and full of filling, great scones with jam and cream, tray bakes delicious and the meringues were lovely with a layer of Chocolate, chocolate strawberries, etc. Coffee refills would have made it perfect.

I’ve been here plenty of times to be able to write a fair review, in fact i left a 5 star review a while back. Sadly I’m now adding a 2 star review. Only for the food, the staff are nice and helpful its just my order of a cheese panini has found new meaning the last couple of times i’ve been. Instead of my usual lovely thick bread with oozing cheese i’ve gotten this flat excuse for a panini with what i can only describe as a cheese sauce in the middle. Haven’t been back since as its happened on more than one occasion! Also binkys kitchen is miles better!

Myself and my mother went here for lunch. I got the tuna sandwich on granary bread and mum got the meringue. Both of us enjoyed it and staff were really friendly. We go here a lot and are never disappointed.

Have been here before, about a year and a half ago, and was not excited at the experience at all and did not plan to go back! However, with a some friends, a couple of nights ago and the majority wanted to go so we went! ... I had a snickers pie with ice cream and a mug of hot chocolate and I have to say I really enjoyed them! one other had a massive slice of lemon cake and another an even bigger piece of lemon meringue pie, they looked delicious and those that had them said that they were... Couldn't finish my Snickers pie cause it was soooo sweet/rich but still would recommend it...

I was here recently for a Sunday lunch. As always the place was packed out but we managed to get a table. The menu is varied and the food really good. I had a decent burger and chips. The desserts are fantastic and huge too. Service was quick and professional. I’ve always had a good experience here.
