The Auld Hoose in North Ayrshire

Table booked on 24/12/2019 for 9 people to have lunch on 5th Jan 2019. We were told when ordering our drinks that they had only one can of diet coke!! Bad start. One hour after our arrival no food had been brought to the table. Eventually starters were served. Food average. When we asked for salad cream for a salad it was to be told that they didn't have any! I ordered fish and chips and was told they didn't have any fish ' only scampi. Attitude to customers was take it or leave it! I felt they had let us down and Dalry down. We will not go back there again.

Visited this pub yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely pub with a beer garden. Beautifully decorated and maintained. Still to try the food but I will definitely be back to try it. Friendly and helpful staff. The pub looks like it would be rather small upon entering but its quite the opposite,ideal for families too.

The new chef definitely knows his stuff. Two great fish dishes on the specials, along with others. Don't see lemon sole or halibut that often. A real treat.

My husband and I popped in today (1st May) for lunch. I opted for macaroni cheese that came with salad and chips. My husband ordered a baked potato with chilli and salad. Both were generous portions. Served piping hot. My macaroni cheese was totally delicious, creamy cheesy sauce with crispy grilled cheese on top. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else from the menu. Thank you.

In an effort to support local business my wife and I have tried twice to have a lunch at this establishment. Last week we arrived at two minutes to three to be told they stop serving food at three midweek. Tried again today but phoned down first, just in case. We were told yes that's fine only to be told fifteen minutes later that the "chef" had decided to have Tuesdays off. Won't bother wasting our time again.

Christmas menu was superb. Soup was delicious, Turkey with all the trimmings too. Plenty of choice per course. Lovely glass of bubbly included in the very reasonable price. Shame it wasn't busier. Lovely Christmas decorations, though.

Went on a sunday afternoon, they serve food all day. Good menu , good value and our food was lovely. Decent prices for both wine and soft drinks too. Nice bar area and friendly staff .. would def go back - have told people they don't know what they are missing. I had chilli chicken ... and my friend had beef stroganoff - both lovely.

Great wee pub with awesome friendly staff and very reasonable lovely food. Beer great too! We will be back again soon! 😁

Great wee place in a town badly needing somewhere like this. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Food is great. I had the veggie bean burger which was amazing. Apple and rhubarb crumble with custard is not to be missed! Wine was perfectly acceptable easy drinking sauvingon blanc. Perhaps something better quality would be nice if going for dinner. Best food in Dalry, and it's right in the middle of town.

Friday lunch for three. The place was very nice and the service was very friendly and efficient. Each of the lunches were excellent. As good a steak pie as I have had anywhere and my wife thought the lasagne was the best she has had - not greasy.

Had my first visit last night.lovely atmosphere ,very nice staff and the food is absolutely stunning.all the dishes we had were well presented and tasty.looking forward to going back to sit out in the massive beer garden .oh and ill need to go again to try out their steak night.compliments to the chef!!!

We first came here in August ,when I took the pictures....The place had just reopened 4 of us went here for a meal..The decor is very good, the staff and food were very friendly and nice...It is very clean and the toilets are fresh and clean. They have a large area out at the back-( for smokers )-will be great in the summer as well. There is entertainment nearly every weekend,a great place to come even if you do not want a meal,just a drink.. We have been back a few times since then, and the place ,service and meals are still great...Will be coming back again

Visited based on the reviews. Not from the area but remember when it was Enigma. Huge changes. Now a lovely pub and restaurant. Menu offers excellent value and the food was high quality. Best chilli nachos ever. Staff were very friendly and efficient. My son ate for free and he had a great time. Will return- soon!

Nice atmosphere and attentive friendly staff.Great entertainment most Friday nights too.There are usually two guest ales on tap and prices are very competitive. There is also a garden and a smoking area designed like a room in an auld hoose at the back of this pub/ restaurant .

Out for meal with family;great service, excellent food, ambient surroundings and great value for money. Definately recommended.

Visited The Auld Hoose on Friday for a lunch. Will certainly be returning. Tasty, well presented food, excellent value for money, lovely surroundings and happy, friendly service from Veronica, our waitress. Gave good advice regarding ingredients in food. We will be back soon.

Lovely pub!!! Good is yummy and the drinks are cheap!!! One of my favourite local pubs now! Steak pie is the best!!!

My husband and I went to the Auld House yesterday for a meal. The food was excellent and thd staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definately recommend.

Had a meal with my sister Elsa and brother in law Andy. Lovely place, staff and owner Gavin were very welcoming. Food was delicious. Excellent value for money too. Gavin looked after us really well and was very friendly. Went there a couple of nights prior to this for drinks too and again Gavin made is feel very welcome.

Beautiful and newly refurbished inside. Friendly staff and great food and menu choice. The meals are made from scratch, my husbands burger was made of quality and everyone really enjoyed the meal. Excellent seating area at rear or bar / restaurant. 3 adults 2 children meals and drinks(numerous )£45. Well priced and a lovley relaxing place to visit. Toilets are immaculate they even offer hand lotion and there is a more private bar at the entrance if you don't want to eat. It has a chess board table, nice if you like that kind of thing...we did and we'll be back :) try the mushroom sauce with the chicken balmoral, it's really tasty
