A good weatherspoons slightly smaller venue I presume to cope with busy days but good overall. Also they take cash unlike several NEC outlets so we'll done Spoons. Giving the customer the choice pays we walked past your competitors to come to you!

When visiting the nec for an event with a group of us I suggested Wetherspoons as it’s a known good, you know what you’re getting and it’s reasonably priced as I assumed all the other nec outlets would be very expensive, How wrong was I? Well it has an extremely limited menu which is double the cost of any other one I’ve visited. And even on the limited menu half the items were unavailable. A chicken wrap with 2 tiny bits of chicken? Drinks that were paid for and didn’t arrive. It wasn’t even overly busy. I should have just went to one of the snack places it can’t have been any worse or any dearer!

Horrible!!! Prices are astronomical. I’ve paid over £16 for an Ultimate Burger which was completely dry and cold. The bacon was tuff and gooey like a shoe. Even onion rings were dark and greasy like they were left three days ago on the bottom of fryer. For that price normally you get a prime burger, but this was actually a kick in a face after 45 minutes waiting. One of the worst meals of my life.

Very poor, not your typical spoons experience. As other reviews state, should have checked the reviews first. Very small portions, limited menu and prices that were borderline ridiculous for what was being served Chips were not cooked and panini was so dry as had been sat under the heat lamps for so long Service was ok and relatively quick, but really poor food and drink compared to usual Spoons options. Should of seen the reviews before going in I’ve been to lots of weatherspoons and normally is great. Guess there is always one …. Came here for lunch and the place was like a ghost town. Massive place. Biggest by far that I’ve been too. Was clean too. No sticky tables. Staff seemed to be busy just chatting to each other. But that’s fine don’t expect them to just stand there. But they didn’t come over once to ask about the food. Now you’re at the NEC so there is plenty of choice. You need to bring customers in. No pizzas as they ran out .. Son’s pasta wasn’t cooked (surely it’s not hard to reheat food as im sure it wasn’t fresh. My son asked for some crayons and was turned away quite bluntly. Now I’m sure any place that charges £17 for fish and chips can afford to stock up on the little things. All the rest of the food was dry and over cooked and the presentation matched the flavour and taste. Poor Really big let down as mentioned this is my go to place normally if there is one close Really need to step up guys and sort it out

Eaten here a few times over the years. It's a very limited menu as you'd expect given it's location. Was disappointed to see the burger menu only had vegetarian meat substitutes or chicken. Opted for the chicken and when it arrived it was a very sad looking affair - certainly not worth the £16 I'd spent; burger dripping in sauce and about six inches from it on the plate was a handful of chips. First thing I'd been able to eat all day and didn't touch the sides. Chicken was also DRY. So dry in fact my mouth still feels like it's recovering 24hrs later.

It’s a Wetherspoons. The brand literally focuses on making sure you get exactly the same service and product which ever Wetherspoon you go to. So once you reviewed one you reviewed them all. This particular Wetherspoons is located inside the Birmingham National exhibition centre and it is very well located in relation to lots of the exhibiting halls. We often use it when we are there for having meetings over a coffee which are obviously unlimited refills or maybe some lunch if we’re feeling peckish.

Worst ever experience in any Wetherspoons! Whilst being at the NEC you will expect to pay a premium, this was out and out robbery! The food is twice the normal price and half the quality. A 'small' breakfast was small enough for a small child! The sausage was burnt to within an inch of it's life, and I could count the beans on my fingers. The coffee, normally included is £3.25! We then went to get a table and asked another staff member if we could use the app to order. She said yes to fobb us off. In reality, they had disabled the app so we couldn't order from it. Rude, lying staff that don't have a clue what they're doing. Obviously don't want my custom. Came back today (6 years since previous review) and me and my wife were both served the incorrect meal, even after only 10% of the food menu was available. When we asked to change to correct items, my wife's meal was changed, but mine wasn't as I'd had a bite before realising it was wrong. Also refused to give any sort of refund, even though they have failed to deliver a service that we have paid for. The staff were rude, confrontational, and abrupt. They obviously need basic people skills, let alone customer service training. Avoid this thieving establishment at all costs. Update: they never brought my wife's replacement, so we both had no food. Another low score review for this venue which seems a theme on Google currently. First time visitor as we were attending an NEC show. Ordered breakfast at 10.50am, arrived at 11.40am and the drinks machines were out of service for most of that time meaning very little choice for " free" refills that actually cost c £3.50 each. Did raise my dissatisfaction with a Team member when I chased the food order and was told we have a backlog, I think they should say that when you order so you can make an informed decision. Decided to raise with JDW customer services when I returned home and got this pat on the head back..... Thank you for contacting the Wetherspoon Customer Services team. I am very sorry to hear of your disappointment following your recent visit to The Atrium. We do try very hard to provide good service and standards and apologise if you felt let down on this occasion. I have shared your feedback with the pub and area manager to look into the matter further, and assure you that any necessary improvements will be taken to ensure that you have a much more enjoyable visit in the future. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We do hope that this won’t put you off visiting us again soon. We will never be returning but at nearly £20 a head for breakfast, I expect more and the apology should also acknowledged the poor experience with a gesture of goodwill. So it must have been pre-cooked waiting somewhere in the kitchen to be thrown out. In my opinion it was only worthy of being thrown away. The burger must have been the cheapest meat, it was luke warm and to be honest I would not feed them to my dogs. I could not eat them. I did have a few chips. Well if you counted them about a dozen. The meal was called a double classic beefburger £13.50. I know you get value for money at Weatherspoons and generally at other locations the food/price is a reason why we visit. It has been a full twelve months since my last visit, and not much has changed. The prices go up every year, but the quality never improves. I was here for breakfast on my annual visit to the NEC (as an exhibitor), so the whole affair was brief - that is one thing you can rely on - the food is always quick to arrive. I went for the standard traditional breakfast which was lukewarm at best. Customer service was efficient but very curt. It is still a very drafty and chilly experience in the mornings, which is a disincentive to spending a lot of time in here. The bill came to £11.44 with a standard orange juice, compared to £9.95 last year. I'm beginning to think that Premier Inn's £9.99 'all you can eat' offering might be a better option.

Minimal menu. Ordered 5 beers, one soft drink and six ‘classic’ burgers. Hundred quid!!!! Worst presented food I’ve ever seen. Really, ever, ever seen. Dry bun, dry burger, with chips and err, that’s it. No cheese, no ketchup, just a singular lettuce leaf in amongst the chips. Wish I had took a photo to justify this review but was too embarrassed having invited overseas colleagues and customers for lunch. No wonder we are the laughing stock of European cuisine when foreign visitors see this as typical English grub. Disgusting, I don’t know how they can lie in bed straight thinking they can serve muck like this at such high prices. Avoid. Please avoid , I am not joking. We found a table in The Atrium easily enough and attempted to order our food using the app, except the app doesn't work in there! Ordering from the bar was fast and efficient, but the food took ages to come, not because it took long to cook, but because none of the staff knew the table numbers or layout. We could see food being carried round and round in circles until eventually the table number was found, but by that time the food was cold. The food itself was awful! The burgers came in a fresh bun, but the alleged '6oz' patty was dry and tasteless. The bacon wasn't great either and the salad (if you could call it that!) was a piece of curled up lettuce the size of a postage stamp! The chips were ok, but were from the end of the bag and not very enjoyable. The best bit of the measly, yet horrendously expensive, meal were the onion rings. After eating the 'meal' I considered doing a covid test as I honestly thought my tastebuds had stopped working! Just awful!

For a franchise known for their consistency - this pub disproves that theory. Food was microwaved to warm it up and it was the worst pub food we've ever had. I felt so sorry for the excellent staff serving that filth. In addition, Wetherspoon was known for it's reasonably priced drinks - not here. The lack of range, and profiteering prices were an eye-opener; we will no longer look to a Wetherspoon pub as a place of fair prices and okay pub food. Pity, because the waitresses were excellent.

This is by far the worst weatherspoons we have been in The menu was very limited and very expensive We ordered burgers in rolls which were not fit to eat The tables weren’t cleared -we had to ask The place was busy but staff were busy standing about and talking The waitress was asked to clear our table but never came back she was too busy propping the bar up with her colleagues Lots of caravaners use weatherspoons but lots are not going back as things are deteriorating rapidly

It has been 2 years since my last visit to this particular Wetherspoons. I wasn't surprised that there has been no improvement and the prices are as horrendous as ever. The traditional breakfast was £7.50 at my last visit (February 2020) and it is now £7.85. Drinks included, that's £9.95 - nearly a tenner - for breakfast (see photo of bill). That's no better value than the breakfast I turned down at the Premier Inn I was staying at, which was £9.50 - and that's 'unlimited'. I said the same before - this is sharp practice and a cynical ploy to cash in on the unsuspecting and hapless visitors to the island that is the NEC, because there are simply no other convenient options for breakfast. As for the food - well, it was just OK. You know what to expect from Wetherspoons. One thing I did notice however - comparing photos - there's no longer a grilled tomato included. So I'm actually getting less than before! Service was quick and cheerful, but the place itself is drafty because it is open to the main concourse, and that makes it very unwelcoming to spend a long time in.

It was alright. It was busy and there was ques to order, however the service was quick. The ordering app did not work so you had to que at the bar to order. The food was served quick and was normal Weatherspoon's food (limited menu though). I don't remember any other Weatherspoon's being as expensive as this one. 2 main meals, 1 starter came to £28.97. So it was not like normal valve for money Weatherspoon's. Staff were friendly.

It is always disconcerting when a restaurant's reviews are overwhelmingly negative, or at the very least overwhelmingly lacking in any praise or compliments, which these reviews are. Judging by many of the comments here, I am not the first (and will certainly not be the last) to note that the prices are so overinflated as to be almost bordering on the extortionate. I have said it before in these reviews that sometimes the price a venue charges is simply based not on how good the quality of its fare is, nor on its location - which is sometimes a big factor - but how much it can reasonably get away with charging. In this case, as some other reviewer noted below - a 100% increase on what you can expect to pay for exactly the same fare at another Wetherspoons venue. That is nothing other than sharp practice - a major venue with a (virtually) captive audience, brazenly charging prices that they cynically know people will pay because there are no or few other comparable alternatives. I choose Whetherspoons for two reasons - the same two reasons why any customer chooses a brand they are familiar with - I know what I expect to pay and I know what I'm going to get in terms of choice and quality no matter which branch I visit. Not the case here. Whilst the quality was simply OK, the cost of a traditional breakfast in London, where I live, is £3.65. Here, it is £7.50. That represents an increase of OVER DOUBLE the price. I had initially chosen Wetherspoons because I didn't want to pay £7.50 for a buffet breakfast at my hotel (see my separate review on THAT) but on discovering that breakfast here with drinks included came in at just under a tenner, I wished I hadn't bothered. See my pictures of the final bill comparing both venues' prices. Oh, and one other thing while I'm on the subject - and again I'm reiterating what some of my fellow reviewers have noted here - service is somewhat lackadaisical. I visited at a quiet time when they were not busy, but I can see how they might easily get overwhelmed because this is a big outlet with a large capacity, and includes an external seating area, as well as tables out on the concourse (see pictures). But the staff really have to stop having loud conversations within earshot of customers, chatting idly across the bar and calling to each other across the room. As a guest relations manager for one of the world's major hotel chains, I found the lack of professionalism shocking. OK, I know this is not a five-star hotel, but a little more discretion and respect for your customers wouldn't go amiss.

We called in during lunch at the running show and only just got a table. The menu was very limited with a lot of food and drink sold out. The food itself (jacket potato and cheese) was really good but we did have a long wait and they were out of forks and sauces.

I came yesterday with my friends for afternoon tea, it was by far the worst afternoon tea experience we’ve ever had!! I was so shocked that this awful experience came from such reputable hotel! Very unexpected! I was so looking forward for a traditional afternoon tea and I choose the hotel based on reputation and location and invited my friends to come along, I’ve initially booked for 7 and two cancelled on the day for emergency reasons, the afternoon tea was then served, it didn’t look appetising or inviting, tea cups arrived with no saucers underneath, no cups for water for water bottles!! The food was served on one of these wooden blocks which was unexpected and unappealing for the traditional afternoon tea style we were expecting, those blocks were ugly and made it hard to access the items desolated inside and made it hard to communicate with ont another as there in ur face kind of thing!! The whole desolate looked like anything but a traditional afternoon tea style! Coming to the food itself We had soggy couple of sandwiche sliced each, unappealing purple dyed salmon setting on densed pastry (why would u dye the beautiful salmon colour in that unappealing appetising way, it was awfull, we also had arancini balls with meat in the middle despite me telling them we dont want anything containing meat or pork or alcohol when I booked, they apologised and replaced it later with vege version, Scones where ice cold, not fresh and it looked and tasted like what you get in these prepackaged scones from supermarkets,, we also had runny icecrem with few diced pieces of strawberries swimming in the middle, At this point we were off and didn’t want to complete the couple of items left in the sweet section because they also looked like something u just opened from packaging and placed on a plate in a rush!! When we’re ready to pay I was told I need to pay for seven although five came and I asked for afternoon for five on arrival as two cancelled due to emergency happened at the time, no one mentioned this when I booked and it didnt sound right that I have to pay for two extra when they didn’t turn up, The restaurant manager came and told me that he had to prepare for seven and I have to pay for seven because of this, at this point I flipped and wasn’t sure what exactly was pre prepared as everything there looked like ready made supermarket quality food not a top hotel restaurant quality food, and he can see they that there was food left over which shows that wr didn’t enjoy what wr had!! He the. Said I don’t know what’s ur explanation from an afternoon trea, I then Stopped him and said I’ve been to so many in my life most in hotels and I never received this below average experince, food in other place looked artisan, made for you, prepared, inviting, appetising, opposite to what we had! He then apologised and ask me to pay for the five wr had! I’ll never come back again nor my friends will, worst food and very unprofessional restaurant manager, he’s got zero customer service and satisfaction experince!! What a shame…

Fantastic food and an excellent service. A relaxed family atmosphere, and loved the real fire! Elizabeth, our waitress, was wonderful, and truly helped to make our get-together with friends a memorable experience, especially as it was a special birthday occasion. Highly recommended 🙂
