The Astbury in Shropshire

I’ve eaten here before and the quality of food and service was good so was pleased to return for Sunday lunch. Excellent! My colleague had lamb, I had beef and both plates were commendably good, very generous helpings, excellent vegetables especially the cauliflower cheese. Highly recommended. Well done and thanks to the team.

Excellent Sunday lunch, quality, quantity, presentation, atmosphere and staff. Reasonable prices & wines also. Good parking and lovely surroundings. We go about once a month weekdays also. Menu changes every few months so well worth a visit

Amazing lunch. So wished I’d ordered the vegetable wellington which is the best V wellington I have ever tasted. Everyone’s food was delicious , from starters through to desserts. Excellent staff and service .👏👏👏👏

Decor= classy. Accoustics= noisy. Service= slow, arrived 12:30 left 4:15 after 2 courses and coffee. Flavours= nice. Food= mostly good but belly pork was 70% fat with the skin still attached - no crackling - needs a re-think. Chunky apple tart was tasty but not chunky.

Went for breakfast - disappointed to say the least. Served on a cold plate Fried eggs were hard Sausages were cold Hash brown was cold Bacon was ok Service could have been a lot more friendly and engaging Would I return - on the basis of this meal - definitely NOT.

Huge thank you to The Astbury for helping my wife host an Afternoon Hen Tea Party for 36 lovely ladies. The staff were all superb and special mention to Valme Gomez and Gill Thomson! A quality venture with superb food catering for all dietary requirements. Highly recommend a visit!

This is mainly a golf club but the facilities are open to the public. My wife took me here for lunch as a treat it’s fantastic. We had the restaurant to our selves shame really as the food is fresh and cooked to order. The staff took my wife on a guided tour of the house and explained what was being added to the 300acre estate. There is a lot of money being thrown at this place and would highly recommend it. It’s furnished to a very high standard and the out look over the Shropshire countryside is beautiful. Monday and Tuesday are very quiet we went on a Tuesday and we sat there on our own. They do afternoon teas but I think you would have to book them. It’s not over priced for the quality of food you receive. Going again soon.

What an amazing lunch. Excellent food and service. Nothing was too much trouble. Even the lovely sunshine that kept trying to blind a friend was blocked out by staff! We had been before but this visit was simply excellent. Could not fault anything

We visited The Astbury for a family halloween party. It was fantastic value for money! The venue was decorated beautifully, there were lots of things to keep the children entertained and they even got a packed lunch as part of the price! The staff were fabulous taking coffee orders and going to collect them for us and the party organiser was very welcoming and helpful. Have now booked afternoon tea with Santa which I'm sure will be just as fantastic!

I visited the Astbury for afternoon tea this weekend and for £19 per person I wasn’t impressed unfortunately. I always find there aren’t enough sandwiches in any afternoon tea but there were ridiculously few here, yet a plethora of scones - three each! Despite them being different flavours (one cheese, one fruit, one plain), that was way too much. There was no butter provided for the cheese one either. Service wasn’t bad, however we had to wait so long for milk that our tea got cold. And to top it off, a few of us felt unwell that evening - which we think may have been the profiteroles or creme brûlée, which seemed a bit warm when we ate them. I’ve had cheaper afternoon teas which were much much better.

This is an excellent venue. Very well appointed, good service and excellent food, all set in a beautiful golf course. Very reasonably priced . Highly recommended

I came on Friday for afternoon tea and I must say it was just excellent. The food was slightly different than what was written on the menu online but it was better than we expected! You just need to update the website. We were served by the lovely Mia and Jess who were both amazing and attentive, very impressed they knew we’d used the booking code too and offered it to us without us having to ask. Mia dealt with a rude customer next to us really professionally and handled the situation well even though he was shouting at her about the fact he hit his car on the way in. Overall a lovely experience and we will definitely return. Thankyou Mia and Jess :)

We had a lovely Sunday roast lunch here today . Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Alex served our table and was attentive without being intrusive . Good quality food cooked to perfection. Roast dinner was £16.95 and dessert was £5.50 ,which we were happy to pay .You certainly would not go hungry. In addition the setting is beautiful and the interior design is very elegant.We will be back with more family and friends..... next time afternoon tea .

Had an amazing evening at Montgomerys , was our first visit , stunning surroundings and views , really chatty friendly staff and the food … oh the food was something else … came back buzzing for more , in fact why wait , we are going back tomorrow … will be telling all our friends to share the pleasure that we experienced. Who knew something so good was on our doorstep .

A real gem. Visit as soon as you can. Its only going to become more difficult to book. Unbelievable value for money taking into account the view, the setting, the food and the service. You will not be disappointed.

Came in as a group of 8, table wasn’t ready for us so had to wait an extra 15 mins for it to be set. Carvery wasn’t worth the money at all £15 is very expensive for what it was.

Fantastic afternoon tea to celebrate the jubilee weekend. We have eaten at Montgomery’s a couple of times since it’s opening and have been really impressed with the quality of food and superb service. I can’t wait to visit again soon!
