Nice venue, we love the space and the ambience (even if a bit tired), the staff were friendly and they had great beer. The only food on the menu was pizza. There are now some great pizza restaurants in Bristol but this was not one of them. In all honestly this was the worst pizza I have had in years. Dry, flavourless, like eating cardboard: I only ate the few slices I did because I was starving. Do go for the ambience and the beer but if you want to eat go elsewhere.

Better suited as a rats den saw bar staff doing drugs the guy who said he owns the place Andy threatened me (excuse me while I laugh) told me if I didn’t leave he would batter me all this after I asked for a clean glass only visited as we wanted a quiet drink place was a ghost town avoid at all costs staff freely swear at each other across the place not suitable for kids !!!

Unfirendly staff and terrible service no regard for customer care, good enough venue for a gig wont be visiting otherwise

Unfriendly staff, dirty tables & a rowdy clientele makes this place on the 'One to Avoid' list. Prices are high for what it is & better fayre can be found far cheaper nearby.

Fuming is an understatement. My 16 year old son was served in here Friday night and was completely intoxicated. Not once was he asked for identification to prove his age. Been trying to contact them through phone-in but no answer at all. Disgusting that a child who looks under 18 was served alcohol, he was not the only underage person there either, there were 3 lads 16,16 and 17 years of age.

Popped in for a pint after work and the place was like a ghost town. Went to the bar and got a lager for a hefty price (much cheaper places up and down the road) Sat near the window and the table had red sauce spillages so I moved to another table and this one was covered in salt or sugar. You’d think they would clean the tables in this Covid era. Guzzled my pint and made a hasty exit.

This was suppose to be a celebration for my son from his gran mother but the pub was empty only about Six or seven people in mostly drinking but still waited 35mins for food food was not even tasty.

I left the sun glasses in the toilet, went downstairs, saw only the waiter going to the toilet and the sunglasses disappeared. He said he did not see them but my an my friends know that he stoled the glasses. Please, do not go there!

Having been to the Assembly for a couple of years,my how it's gone down hill!!!! This use to be a bit of a oasis in Bedminster, not now. Waited 40 minutes for cold food to arrive,lager was ok but ale and cider awful, took refund and left.

Have been in here twice in the past few weeks and both times it has been horrific in here. The first time was on Saturday 27th October, a group of us went in for planning to have a few drinks and have breakfast, there was only one person behind the bar area serving, we must have waited a good 5 minutes or so, the drinks we were served was not what we ordered but as it took so long to be served, we just took what we had. Whilst we were waiting a lady approached the bar and asked how much longer he food would be as she had been waiting 45 minutes, on hearing that most of us decided not to bother, but one of our group was determined to give it a go so ordered a breakfast. He had to wait 35 minutes for his food to arrive, when it did the chef did apologise, he pointed out that he was the only person working in the kitchen and he also had to bring out the food from the kitchen - in his credit the food was apparently very nice, and you could see he was doing the best he could in the situation. Fast forward to the Saturday just gone (10th November) we thought we'd give the place another go as we must have just gone there on a bad day, we arrived to find the bar area swarming with people waiting to be served and yet again only one person working behind the bar, there were two chairs blocking the stairs to the toilets and no indication of if there were any other toilets available? We waited 5 minutes with no real movement in people being served so we left and went to another local pub instead. That is 8 of us that won't be going back in there again, the people working were doing the best they could but to have so few staff working, meant the place was untidy where items hadn't been collected and the wait to be served was a total joke

Well what can i say about this place its not the best place to go over priced flat paint of Stella visit with family from Chester nearly £3 for a glass of coke bar staff need to go on a customer service course only good thing about the place was the people we was with avoid big time

Avoid this place the food has gone down hill !!!! Hardly anything on the menu and what we did want to order they didn’t have !!!

After waiting 40minutes and in that time seeing 2customers complained about food .ours eventually came out.absolutely disgusting and I would have been ashamed to present that to a customer.I have never saw chips like the ones that were presented to us.sure they were from yesterday and warned up. The beans where cold.the sausage was burnt.I would never go there again or advise anyone to.couldn't see anyone to make a complaint to.awful.good standards ought to go there or a secret shopper.

Went there last month. The food order is shocking. If I ordered something from the menu, the bar staff have to check if they got it in stock! It's a restaurant which SHOULD have food ready for ordering EVERYDAY! One bar staff member was extremely rude to me. They do have the odd idiot there who like to fight. Avoid the place

Este pub tiene un nuevo 'Gerente' que no hace ningún trabajo, pero se sienta a beber y posar. Hay un nuevo menú de opciones pequeñas, pero varias veces los pedidos no están disponibles. Se les acaba la cerveza constantemente. Las camareras te dejan esperando mientras conversan sobre cosas banales con sus amigos, el único factor redentor es el barman más viejo, que hace todo lo posible. Esta es una inmersión deteriorada, destartalada, antipática y mal dirigida de un pub. Evitar a toda costa.

Does a nice clean pint at very good prices,food is what you would expect for a chain pub. And it shows live sports on an abundance of screens in there.

Came here for a light lunch with my young family. We were given a menu everyone choose their meal. Good menu choice. Food arrives after a bit of a wait 30 Minutes...

The meal was shocking ! Took 40 mins to come out. The chips where cold the burger was vile. The beer was served in a dirty glass and was flat ! Never again !!

i went here last night for a Christmas meal. WOW the food was amazing. the price was so low .didn't expect much. but I was so wrong . could not have had better in a 5 star restaurant . and defiantly plenty on you plate. thank you assembly . had a lovely night .. and thank you to the chef..

Went here today with my 2 young children & mum for lunch, had to wipe over tables as filthy, should have left then but gave it a chance. Ordered 2 lattes...half cups received, given 2 replacements-no better & was warm milk couldnt taste any coffee! Waited over 45 mins for 4 simple meals even though place was almost empty, people who came in after us got served ages before us, so we told passing barmaid, then 'chef' came out for a chat with bar staff only then did barmaid say something to him & he went back to kitchen, after another 10 mins 1 meal arrived then a good 5 mins later the other 3 arrived, no apology or anything. Food was ok for the money but Certainly wont be returning here!! Dreadful place.

Great value breakfast arrived in less then 8 minutes,food cooked perfect we will definitely return for more

We come here at least twice a month and the good is decent value for what you get. A new menu had been introduced recently and it is not too busy if u go around midday.

Went with friends to assembly and a baby 29/4/2017 was 6.30 in evening not late mother not drinking, got drinks was there literally 2 mins barmaid informs us we only have half and hour as children not welcome after six, when I asked to see this policy there was no evidence even manager could not show me any. If this is there policy then surely there should be visible evidence of said policy. So anyone wishing to have a drink with there children on a nice evening I advise you to avoid THE ASSEMBLY

My partner and I wanted to have breakfast at The Assembly this morning at 0930. Because we had parked at the rear of the building, we approached from the back. The carpark was strewn with waste, the skips were overflowing with open bags and the smoking area was plastered with cigarette butts. It was disgusting - and we decided we didn't want to eat there. We went to Witherspoons - very nice.

Un excelente local con un excelente personal y algunos personajes fantásticos/clientes. La comida se sirve hasta las 9 con una gran selección que se actualiza cada vez. Los precios son excelentes.

Went here with two mates to get some breakfast and right away the place was lovely, brilliant mix of modern and classic pub feel, ordered up some food and the service was quick. A small mistake was made with our order but we didn't get time to mention it before the staff corrected it themselves and apologised. (that little extra care and attention to detail is fantastic) However my only complaint can be the reverse tardis that is the tea pot. Ordered a pot of tea to find a decently sized pot of tea delivered to our table (looked around 3 mugs worth in size) but somehow while it was full only held one cup of tea inside! The laws of physics and space-time do not apply to tea here and it left me perplexed and wondering about the state of all this timey-wimey-wibbly-wobbly stuff and seems to govern our universe and decided to deny me a pot of tea.That aside I highly recommend this place, fantastic service with a smile...(and possible secrets of time-space distortion)

Pub is spacious and clean . Lots of seating and different ranges of people . Ordered two meals for £10 . Food was served in 15 mins which is efficient. Lasagne and New York chicken . Meals hot and good quality for price. Overall quick easy lunch hour . Enjoyed .

Me and my son decided to pop into The Assembly on the spur of the minute for lunch. We were impressed with the modern spacious surroundings. There was a mix of ages, couples and groups in the pub.I ordered the fish and chips & All day breakfast from the 2 for £10 menu. The staff were very friendly and the food arrived within 15 minutes. I could not complain about the quality of the food, it was delicious.I noticed that tables were cleared and cleaned quickly once they had been vacated.would recommend a visit.

Nice open space inside, tables in the window for people watching, but let down by the staff sadly. Could be so much better, I felt it lacked effective management, there are far better pubs in the area.

My first drink was a coffee served by a friendly Girl.So i thought i would have a half of beer[late afternoon].I waited for another girl to finish chatting and could not believe she served other people that just got to the bar.Okay no big deal but on my 3rd occasion i was served by a girl with a blank face in a not too busy bar.If this is what corporate pubs are like then you can stick it.

I go to The Assembly quite a lot to watch football and it always has a friendly atmosphere along with plenty of screens that show a wide variety of football every night.Lots of drinks choice which is well priced for Bristol. The food is ok, but I am not looking for a Michelin star meal when I am having a few pints and watching the football.This place is essentially if Wetherspoons did Sky Sports - perfect.

had a couple of meals in here in the past or a snack whilst in Bedminster its usually clean and the service is good. Food can vary. The pub is bigger inside than out but if you are looking for a place to eat its really not bad.

Went to watch a football match on a Sunday afternoon. Staff behind the bar seemed unhappy to be there.My friend and I ordered some food, my breaded mushrooms arrived still frozen on the inside. My friends 'mini burgers' were just normal burgers cut up into odd shaped bits, no buns or anything. Just found it laughable.Might go back to watch football there as they have a lot of screens but avoid the food at all costs

What a lovely local. Wonderful traditional pub. Huge range of drinks. Lovely staff. With fab pub grub. Wonderful venue for watching sport, various TVs. Large screen. Drinks are well priced too. Always a bonus

Nice looking pub. Woman behind the bar didn't know what drinks were burgers were in burger and pint deal. I had bacon in my burger which was not warm and the chips were clearly re fried. No ketchup in the entire pub and they sent seafood sauce with our burger. Not very well run. No check backs. Crap product knowledge.

The young lady with long brown hair(no name badge) had an attitude from the start as she was called from the back to serve me.She brought tea for two to are table and the cups had tea stain rings all around them. I asked for clean ones and was told ALL THE CUPS WERE THE SAME. Basically like it or lump it.The second lady that delivered our food was polite and the food very nice.This was at 11.00 am, it's not as if this young lady had had a hard day.We visited on 29th December 14

Stopped here with my mum a few times whilst doing shopping. Had the large breakfast (before 12) and it is cheap and very very tasty!!! We will go back here all the time now.cappuchino cups good be bigger though! 2 mouthfuls and its gone lol. Lovely and warm in the pub and very child friendly too! Would recommend!

Good atmosphere and very well priced drinks and food. Love coming here to watch the football, they have many screens and comfortable seats to view. Quiet area for families and couples too. New management within last month and very attentive and friendly.

Since moving to Bedminster a year ago this has become one of our most frequented pubs. Mostly because it's our go to pub for a fry up in the morning. At £1.99 for a traditional brekker it's cheaper than you can cook at home and every bit as good. It's also become our go to venue for watching sport due to their excellent big screen and bargain beer prices.Friendly helpful staff make every visit even more enjoyable and this pub is a welcome change from horrendously overpriced gastro pubs taking over the area.Next time you are walking down East Street pop in and give this place a try.

Today I visited The Assembly pub down East Street in Bedminster, Bristol and what an unexpected wonderful surprise!I found myself going out for a bit of lunch whilst I waited for my clothes to wash at the Laundrette. As I walked to East Street to get some shopping, I kept looking at menu's on cafe/pub menu's. They were all so similar. I love a good sandwich or jacket potato but wasn't feeling that today, wanted something more interesting and different then I usually have.That's what enticed me into walking in The Assembly. They do your usual pub classics such as lasagne but on top of that I noticed they did a few meals with Halloumi, Duck, Asparagus Pasta, this draw me in as I was looking to try something different. In the end I picked the Grilled Halloumi Wrap for £3.99, expecting a tiny meal I added a side order of chips for £1.Now don't do what I did. Walked past this pub several times and never went in because it looked a bit gloomy and small from the outside. I couldn't of been more wrong! The venue is ridiculously bigger then I thought, with lots of bar space and areas to dine, it's decor was simple yet nice, not shabby at all.It took 20 minutes till my meal came out, I was a bit worried about the length of time it took but when i got my meal it was very big and was steaming hot, so there was nothing to complain about. The wrap was so nice and the salad used with the Halloumi was very thought out and complimented the meal. I was very impressed with the meal.When I was there all I could see was one member of staff, I think he may of been the manager. It was around 2pm I had my meal so there was no need for tons of staff and I could tell he managed the floor and bar perfectly. He was very polite and friendly. When he was serving a meal to a couple with a child I overheard him say to them, that there was an extra 2 sausages left over in the cooker and he has added them to the childrens meal. I thought that was amazing customer service and shows that he was willing to go the extra mile.I thoroughly enjoyed my unexpected visit and will certainly be going there again :)
