OK. Quite expensive. Good quality bakery and they do sell stuff off as the day goes on. The takeaway bakery is fine.

Popped in for lunch at The Artisan Experience. We both decided to have the special, which was pork and sage stuffing stottie and chips. The lovely staff apologised for taking a little longer for the chips, it wasn't a long wait if I could cook chips like that it would have taken me an hour. They were fantastic. The stottie was delicious. There are simply not enough stars to rate this place. The staff were polite and attentive. Wouldn't normally tip that much but they were worth it.....and the food is so cheap. Well worth the money. Will definitely go back to try the Sunday lunch but won't eat as much as I'd like to save room for the gorgeous cakes. 10/10 Best wishes Violet and Brian

Called in for a coffee and could not resist the above,if you have not tried one please do.The freshly sliced Ham and Pease Pudding was cooked in a beautiful tasting pastry. Also had a fruit scone and this was as nice.Whenever we visit we always get a good welcome from all of the Staff, the Owner always asks if everything is OK. The Selection of Products is constantly changing and we have never been disappointed with any "new"Products.Place is always spotlessly clean.

Love that the artisan experience cafe is dog friendly! We have visited several times in the last few weeks and highlights have been the breakfast (eggs benedict - but there is so much choice!), a lunch (chicken salad sandwich) and the cakes/ patisserie are lovely! The guys are so friendly and go out of their way to help.

Made first visit to this cafe today at the recommendation of one of my fellow scranners. Excellent start to finish both in terms of food and service. Very reasonably priced and quality high. Cannot understand some of the negative comments on here tbh. Either they have ridiculously high standards or i visited a different establishment. Keep doing what your doings Artisanians and you will reap the rewards.

Liked the page on Facebook about a month ago and ever since I've been dying to try this Sunday lunch. The venue is a small little cafe, very modern, clean and welcoming. We had booked ahead and the staff seated us straight away. Drinks order was taken and menus brought. I choose beef and my partner pork, looking at the people's lunch around I couldn't wait to tuck in. Lovely big plates full of lush thick gravy and plenty of different vegetables. The meat was beautifully cooked and just fell apart. Fabulous value for money and the staff are so friendly. So pleased I made the trip here and look forward to trying the pastries on another visit.

I have now visited here twice. Both times in the afternoon. And on both occasions I received indifferent service and pastries that were dry and bland. I see their photos on social media, of pastries that look mouthwatering, but the cherry and dark chocolate Danish that I had last week was dry, dense and lacked flavour. And when I walked past at 4.10pm one of the signs said 'Closed', while another said 'Open'. Thanks to the black glass it was difficult to see if anyone was in there, but as the side door was open, I entered to find a young lady on her phone, who grudgingly told me they were 'sort of open', but I couldn't have anything hot! So much for the 'All day breakfast' being promoted on the menu on my table! The cutlery and crockery were grubby, the coffee OK, and the pastry resembled something a child brings home from school when they have made a first attempt at making pastry!!

Loved the Sunday lunch - I've been on the hunt for a new place since our old favourite The Ship Inn at Benton changed owners. My god. This was better than our old favourite. Packed with flavour, huge portions and a relaxed atmosphere you can't grumble at all for £7.95. It was so good I didn't want to review/tell anyone about it case it gets too popular!

I've eaten here many times now and here is why. I always opt for breakfast through the week, or a Sunday Lunch at weekends. Breakfasts are huge and great value with the option to have haggis on the side which is absolutely delicious, all ingredients are fresh, local and of the highest quality and cooked to perfection- anything you want, nothing is too much trouble for the friendly, hard working staff here. The Sunday lunches have gained a reputation to 'those who know' for being absolutely to die for, hence booking is almost essential- you might turn up and be lucky to get a table but don't count on it, as I discovered once, lesson learned! All of the food is cooked fresh to order and bursting with fresh veg and meaty gravy flavours. Root mash is lovely as is the tenderstem broccoli which is served. The meat falls apart in your mouth whether you choose lamb, beef or any of the meats. There are always lots of delicious baked goods available baked fresh on the day, sweets and savoury, pies, cakes and artisan baked breads, scones, you name it.... to enjoy inside or to take away all at great prices for the range and quality on offer. Seating outside is nice and very popular when the sun is out. It's a must visit place, not situated in the middle of Whitley bay but a 5-10 minute walk from the centre or very short drive which is totally worth it, trust me! :)

Great bread - just like your Mother used to make but better. The bread is very tasty and Rob, the baker and owner, is a guy who is ready to help with any advice and suggestions. He will explain the types of bread he makes, and there is a good variety, and which are the most healthy and suited to you - just tell him exactly what you are looking for. You can't beat that taste of freshly made bread which you know is a bit special and excels when compared to loaves bought in the major outlets.Treat yourself.

I had read the reviews and was kind of in two minds do I take the plunge or not but let me tell you all this place knows how to cook and the Sunday beef dinner meat melts in you're mouth veg nice and crisp mash no lumps the list could go on and on well I shall be coming again as the food had no faults at all so everyone reading this you shall not be disappointed in the food. Been twice and will definitely return again and again! Our first visit was a weekday morning when we had the most lovely poached eggs on toast and again yesterday for an impromptu Sunday lunch. It was amazing! One of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had...beef was so tender and tasty, to go with the SIX veg, roast and mashed potato, beautiful Yorkshires and lashings of rich tasty gravy. Very generous portions...it pains me to leave anything and not clear my plate but I was beaten this time! Couldn't believe such a small place can offer a choice of four roasts...excellent! The staff are so friendly, giving the place a real neighbourhood feel. It's spotlessly clean and really pleasant and comfortable. Just one tiny niggle...it would be great if they took card payments. I'm terrible for not carrying much cash and it can be inconvenient when places don't take cards.

I decided to try the Artisan Experience today, as I had a surprising free hour, and I am really pleased I did! The cafe has 7 tables and 3 of these were taken when I came in just after 1pm. The menu has jackets, panic is and there are specials. I went for the broth and it was delicious. It is a little cramped as the chairs are big, but the staff are lovely and friendly and the deli counter looks very tempting. Definitely a good spot for some lovely food and a natter!

After having done an hour's yoga hubby suggested I didn't make lunch but we should try the Artisan Experience, which is literally just around the corner. What a wonderful decision! My hubby ordered the lamb shank so it took little longer to be served as it is cooked to order, however the ambiance is very restful and newspapers are provided so it was quite enjoyable. The food was delicious, my beef was tender tasty and fell apart. The vegetables were in abundance, fresh and well cooked. The highlight for hubby was the gravy, which was delicious and in abundance. The staff were helpful and very cheerful. We will most certainly be going back very soon.

I can't comment on the food because I only have a coffee, the food was great when it was the bakery. When somewhere is called the artisan experience I immediately think of artisan breads and coffee made manually with a traditional coffee machine not an automatic, unfortunately, the coffee is made by an automatic machine here. I worked in cafes from the age of 16, once owned a cafe and have drank proper coffee for over twenty years and I've still not had a decent cup of coffee from an automatic machine. I'm not a snob, I just believe good coffee is easy to make and costs pennies no matter what beans you buy, so why make it any other way. Anyway, I just believe this cafe would really benefit from a real coffee machine, good espresso beans and staff trained in making coffee properly and then they could justify charging £2.40 for a Machiatto; yes a Machiatto,a single shot of espresso with a bit of milk/foam on top, even the big chains and some of the more expensive places in the area charge no more than £1.60 for a Machiatto.

Went along to see what the improvements were like, much better than the cafe which the Artisan bakery ran. Much cleaner and more organised and look lovely. Unfortunately they heavily rely on the artisan bakery (along road) for bread etc which concerns me as the artisan bakery has terrible scores on doors report. However, my option of the cafe changed on my last visit when they served me rotten smoked salmon. It had a terrible taste and smell. It came warm and they quickly changed, obviously knew about it in my opinion. Not good practice at all! Hope they up their game as they could have a gold mine... But not yet!

I walk past the artisan every week and noticed the cafe had been refurbished. The sign outside advertised Sunday dinners and I remembered this when I was walking my 10 month old boy last Sunday. We popped in and sat at a table near the window. I ordered a beef dinner from the counter and sat down. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner turned up and it was very well presented. Vegetables were gorgeous and the gravy was very tasty. Then came the free cake! Didn't even come to a tenna!

Run don’t walk to Foda in Monkseaton. Sarah had the French toast of the day which was brûléed figs, crème fraiche, walnuts, honey and cinnamon toast and Grilled lemon. It was unreal. I had steak and eggs with an extra sausage. The drinks were beautiful too with an option for some CBD in it too. Best food I’ve had in a long time
