Nice little cafe, pleasant staff but over £7 for an egg mayonnaise sandwich with a salad garnish was a bit pricey I thought. The sandwich was ok but just normal brown bread with a non too generous filling.

Just found this lovely little cafe in Whitley Bay and felt I had to write a review to say how nice my visit was. I enjoyed a full English breakfast and a latte and the service was welcoming and efficient. Whilst I expect it could get very busy at times, I was lucky to be there at a quieter midmorning slot and did not struggle to get a table. The fact that it is dog-friendly was one of the main reasons I went inside. I noticed that they offer a huge range of hot chocolate flavours- maybe one to try during the coming winter months when I visit Whitley Bay for a walk.

We were staying with a good friend inn whitley Bay and shortly after our arrival we went to Eden's Cafe for lunch. Not our first visit and as always the food was freshly prepared and served quickly. It is no surprise that this is one of our friend's favourite places for a light lunch or coffee and cake.

After reading the negative comment below from Ceri feel I need to put my review on. This cafe is a lovely gem with excellent staff, selection of food and the most amazing homemade cakes. Yes they run out of things like all places do and they do use local produce. In a time when all small businesses are struggling give them a break! Rob and Jan have lots of regulars like myself who go for the atmosphere and of course Rob’s amazing homemade food. It is as competitive in price to other places and it’s cheaper and nicer than a costa that would be churned out!! I would give Eden’s cafe 10/10

We've been to Eden a few times in the past year and when we were in Whitley Bay for the Carnival on Saturday I was incredibly disappointed with the underwhelming breakfast sandwich we had....I had the sausage and fried egg sandwich and my partner had just sausage and I have to admit....it was bland...the sausage (god knows where they buy them, or indeed why?) was tasteless and the brown bread was too. We've previously been and had Eggs Royale a few times and that always blows me away but, for the price of the breakfast sandwich, and what you get.....it just doesn't seem justified. There are great butchers and bakers down the street that do really great produce so I don't understand why they don't support local by buying homemade and handmade bread and sausages etc from them??? Wherever you're buying them from, consider changing the prices of your menu if you're going to continue serving sub-par goods. I am really disappointed in this visit and I will think twice before returning as I feel that what you're charging....just is too much!! £20 for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 hot chocolates??? Ludicrous!!!

First visit to Whitley Bay for many years and came across the Eden Cafe. We sat outside and we were promptly served by an extremely friendly and attentive female member of staff. We both ordered the club sandwich with one being gluten free. When they arrived, WOW what a true delight to see that they were both presented exactly the same. (It can be extremely frustrating for those who are coeliac or have a gluten intolerance to go out for a meal and find there is very little choice on the menu or what is presented, is of very poor quality and looks nothing like other dishes being served. It has got to the stage where I have to take a picnic as a standby.) We both thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches, making the appropriate delightful noises after each mouthful. They were absolutely perfect and served with a lovely side salad with dressing. Better than a five star hotel! I also have to highlight their hot chocolate is the nicest I have ever had. You can certainly tell the difference with good quality chocolate. (And no, I didn’t have marshmallows and cream.) Even though it is a 90 mile round trip from home, we loved our lunch so much we returned a couple of weeks later and, yes, had exactly the same! Eden Cafe is definitely worth visiting.

Really disappointing - again. Visited with a friend for breakfast. He had Eggs Benedict, I had poached eggs on toast. His was ok- nothing more. Mine was awful- two pieces of rock hard, cold, small slices of white processed bread toasted and two poached eggs which tasted strongly of vinegar- presumably added to poaching water- with the straggly bits of egg white still attached. The toast was dry- not even buttered. You couldn't butter it yourself because the eggs were on it. Cost of this was £8.00We both had tea to drink which was a small pot each-enough for a large cup. The bill was almost £22.This is the 6th time I have been here and 4 times have been disappointing. It's expensive for what you get, poor quality and it's a cold, not very welcoming environment.

Just been to Eden’s cafe In Whitley Bay. Bought a coffee and scone on my dog walk as I always do but thought I’d try somewhere new. The coffee scolded my mouth so I literally had to spit it out. Naturally I took it counter and asked for a new one coz couldn’t drink it. Waitress topped it up with milk to cool it down. I’m not fussy so took it. Tasted like hot milk not coffee so asked for a new one in a carry out cup so could leave. The owner/manager/cook not sure (man) then comes round the corner and starts having a go at me. Saying I shouldn’t have asked for a new one, that is was right in the first place. That coffee is hot - yes but is scolded my mouth. Being awful really hostile and confrontational. Said loads more but too much to write. I was so nice to them wasn’t even complaining just wanted a coffee I could drink. I didn’t raise my voice I’m just in shock that someone can be like that to people never mind customers. I know we can all have bad days but that was out of order. So I left the shop with a burnt mouth, coffee I couldn't drink as mouth hurt and a telling off for saying anything. I couldn’t have been nicer to the waitress (who was lovely) he didn’t like it that I challenged him being nasty to me. Not nice. :-( Obviously I won’t be going back but think that shouldn’t happen again as I was so upset after. If there was less points I would give I would, however, the scone was decent just not the owner or coffee.

We landed in Newcastle airport after a week in Spain and stopped off here for a bite to eat with a local friend before driving back home to Scotland (they had been looking after our car so it wasn't that far out of our way). An absolutely **amazing** selection of hot chocolate - just what we needed to warm ourselves up. The owner was very helpful and friendly in telling us the other hot chocolate combinations not on the menu. We chopped and changed out minds about what to order quite a bit but we got there in the end. Kids ordered pancakes and grown ups ordered paninis and burgers. Food was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't have any room left for cakes but they looked absolutely amazing. My son took one "to go" to eat in the car journey home. It was also interesting hearing the owner talk about how he made the enormous Easter Egg that was on display. He's a man who takes great pride in his job.

Went here for lunch while on holiday. I recognised the name from researching the area beforehand so was expecting it to be really good. Sadly my party had mixed reviews. Firstly you can’t see the menu from outside - I’d recommend putting the menu in the window so passers-by can see it. It was quite busy & only one person working in the front most of the time, which made the service a bit slow. My ciabatta sandwich was lovely, but my sister was disappointed with her pancakes bacon & maple syrup - only 2 bits of bacon & the pancakes were a bit small & flat. The kids shared pancakes & strawberries. It was ok to start with but the pancakes were soggy & they couldn’t finish it. For what we paid (£30) I was expecting much better quality. I wouldn’t go back.

We have been to Eden's cafe before & have always enjoyed it. However our recent visit was disappointing. I ordered a sausage & egg sandwich which I was underwhelmed by. The sandwich was cold & it was oddly cut into small triangles? It also had a side salad & garnish which was nice. I had a Latte which was ok. My 3 year old son had beans on toast. which he enjoyed. He also got a babychino, the temperature of the milk was far too hot for a toddler & he flinched when he took the first sip. Unfortunately he picked it up & drank it before I got chance to check it. I would have expected this to have been thought about by the person making the drinks. We didn't want to mention this to the person serving as she seemed rushed. My husband ordered a full english which he enjoyed but he was disappointed with the coffee. We got a slice of chocolate cake to take out with a chocolate strawberry on top, it was really dry. I hope this is an isolated incident, as the food (especially the cake) & service has previously been really good, which my friend detailed on trip advisor.

A highlight of our previous visit to Whitley Bay was the cake that we bought from Eden's Cafe to eat in the accommodation we were staying in. This time once we had unpacked our cases we made a beeline straight for Eden's to have coffee, and some of their wonderful cake which is made freshly every day.

This has become the best place for lunch in Whitley Bay. I particularly like the eggs benedict. A great array of cakes, if only I wasn't on a diet.

This place has a big variety of home made cakes including cheesecakes, I had lime and elderflower, also carrot cake, amaretto cheesecake and smaller cakes including flat almond and choc rounds. There is a deal which is 5.95 for a cake and a drink. Very reasonable. There are newspapers and an outside area. Friendly place

had been to this cafe before it changed ownership and was put off by bad service so it took me a year to twig it had a new name and new owner. What a very very pleasant surprise we got. Firstly my husband had just got back to eating after an operation and decided he wanted a burger (it was 10am!). The owner replied 'you can have whatever you want, whenever you want here!! And promptly served him up burger and chips. We had THE most delicious milkshakes ever to wash our food down with and unfortunately couldn't manage cake that day so returned a couple of weeks later with our daughter in tow. It was her birthday so where better to have cake for breakfast? Again the staff were tremendous and made a special effort with our daughter by piping 'happy birthday' on her slice of cake especially. The cakes are all home made and absolutely stunning, there is literally not a bad word you can say about this place. Well done Eden!

Called in for breakfast, first visit, almost turned round and left because of the music being played. That would have been a big mistake, the breakfast was fabulous, generous and beautifully presented using the best ingredients, super sausages from Nicholson’s up the road and the lady kindly turned the volume down when I asked.

Quite inoffensive music. Ok. Nothing much else to say. Tiramisu was the ok. Had better. It's not bad just not good fairly standard.

We visited this lovely little cafe in our quest to find the best Eggs Benedict in the North East and this place is definitely in the running. I opted for the Royale variation and my guest had the Florentine. We scored them 8/10 and 7/10 respectively the only reason fit the loss of a few points was we would have liked a little more hollandaise and my eggs were slightly overdone whereas one of N's eggs was really overdone with no runny till at all. All in all thoroughly recommended.

As soon as you walk in the door you cannot fail to be impressed, well decorated and comfortable. Well done the design team. Sat down and immediately was greeted and was brought a menu with a smile, so rare these days. Placed an order for coffee and a Club Sandwich, the coffee arrived quickly followed by the sandwich a couple of mins later, really quick and efficient and the taste was superb. Everything about the visit was absolutely great, will be back for more and as it is also a dog friendly establishment I will bring the pooch along the next time.

Our usual lunch place was closed so we tried this nearby. Soup was such a small portion and the bead stale, unsatisfying, expensive. The sort of place which thinks if they charge a lot people will think it must be good, sorry chaps, it hasn't worked.

I would highly commend this cafe to anyone looking for quality food, service with pride and a smile and value from r money. I travel all around the UK and when I want something tasty and am on the move, I find myself in cafes all over ordering bacon and eggs with tea. Eden Cafe by far is the best I have had in 2016 and it's on my doorstep!!! Well done guys keep it up, Whitley Bay need more quality places.

This is a breath of fresh air on Park View Whitley Bay. The owner bakes all the cakes, many celebration type speciality cakes. The pancakes and Caesar salad are a must at this establishment. Friendly, imaginatively decorated cafe with outside seating, Eden's cafe is becoming one of the most popular places to pop in for just a coffee or something more substantial.

We visited EDEN cafe and found the breakfasts to be good value and full of local produce. I asked the owner of the origins of the ingredients as all tasted amazing. Meats from local butchers and other dairy from farm source which was evident in the flavours. Definitely worth a visit and value for money...
