We came here for breakfast twice with our baby. The food was absolutely delicious - we both had the omelette and got a rice crispies cake for later. The staff were so accommodating with our baby, they even gave us tips on best places to visit around Norfolk. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We had a lovely breakfast here during our short break in North Norfolk. Well presented, tasty and fairly priced in what is a nice environment. We also took away some cake which we ate later - delicious. Friendly staff who have us a couple of tips for local attractions and other eateries. Recommended.

One of the best lunches I’ve had in a long time. Service was outstanding and staff very friendly. Visited with my 10 year old granddaughter who chose from the kids menu. Her pasta was beautifully cooked and presented. I opted for their Hassleback jacket potato - delicious! Will definitely return.

It’s my birthday today and I chose to go to Artisan cafe in Alby for a gluten free afternoon tea. I had heard good things about this place and I was not disappointed. There was much more on offer than other popular afternoon tea places and the servings were much bigger. The first time since diagnosis 13 years ago, I found my scones (cheese and fruit) were bigger than my husbands normal scones! When does that ever happen? It was all delicious but so big I couldn’t eat any of the sweet items (other than the fruit scone) so I get to have them this evening. I highly recommend this place, the staff were all really lovely and the food was fantastic

My girls fiends and I are regular visitors to this cafe/restaurant. We always enjoy the varied menu. Two of my friends have complicated dietary needs which are always accommodated without complaint, indeed today the lovely waitress rang the cake cook to double check there was no coconut used in the recipe. Everyone goes the extra mile to make our lunch enjoyable. The prices are reasonable, the staff friendly, the food is fresh and good, a great atmosphere, they love dogs too! Perfect for lunch!

My wife and I went for breakfast. Pleasant staff. I had a breakfast.....nothing special...1 sausage, 2 bacon, half a barely grilled tomato, beans, mushrooms. I asked for my eggs to be scrambled. They charge £1:00, to scrambled them. They were done in a microwave, and rubbery. The thick slice of 'toast' that came with it, wasn't toasted, just warmed up. This very average breakfast was£13:00!!! I'm happy to pay for good quality, unfortunately this wasn't good quality. My wife had eggs Royale.......nearly drowning in hollandaise sauce. One Americani, and a tea completed the breakfast. All for the princely sum of.....£28:00!! 2 very average breakfasts, for an inflated price. 4 of us went to a garden centre, the following day, just down the road, and had 4 far superior breakfasts.....all for £28:00. I don't know how they can charge so much, for the food they serve. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

This is such a quirky place - unique in many ways and atmospheric in the midst a group of artisanal shops. It is a destination in itself notwithstanding you can stroll in the beautiful Alby gardens within the complex I was really hoping we would hit the jackpot here as it had so much going for it.We were well outside lunch time hours after 1600 hrs when they close 1700 hrs so this may account for our disappointment. The owner is very engaging and passionate about the cafe but we had a few issues with our hamburger.Yes it was very generous with the condiments inside the burger but the bun itself was awful - it was dry and broke apart when you took a mouthful unlike brioche which is tender as it is made differently. He informed he uses bakery type rather than brioche buns as everyone uses the latter and he wanted to be different which is noble and individual but not necessarily a customer perspective.Even though I was informed the minced meat of the burger was done on the premises it was hard and not what you would expect if freshly made and I suspect at that time of the day we were there he had to resort to a frozen one I would like to be corrected but I have eaten better hamburger in terms of bun and meat at macdonalds and an array of burger joints not withstanding pubs Also as the image below shows the hamburger is higher than it is wide which makes for challenging eating But on a positive note the condiments in the bun were generous as was the excellent salad and potato fries but that does not detract from my criticism I would like to believe this was blip and also due to time. of day we arrived but if not I do hope my constructive criticism mistaken on board as customer feedback is important as it is apparent you have a number of outstanding reviews on trip advisor You deserve success - all the ingredients are there

Wow, what a beautiful establishment. A new owner I believe. A total transformation. Great menu. Super range of cakes, treats etc..... cheese scones to die for. Most pleasant staff who could not do any more for you. Massive shout out to Ruby. Love this place, and when in the area we will definitely be back.

My first visit to the lovely Artisan Cafe but it certainly won’t be my last. I’d seen great reviews and friends had recommended we visit so on a nice sunny Friday I booked a table at rather short notice. From the initial phone call to the friendly welcome on arrival to the delicious food to the lovely staff everything was excellent. We had a chat with the owner who was genuinely interested in our decision to visit and how far we’d travelled and he made us so welcome. Going for coffee and brunch or any meal isn’t just about the food, it’s about the service, the care and attention you receive, the decor and the ambience and The Artisan Cafe has it all. Thank you for making our drive so worthwhile, we’ll be back very soon.

After what's been a tough couple of days my wife and I along with my sons girlfriend needed to get out for a break, we felt after previous visits that this was the perfect place to go. The staff and the owners are first and foremost exceptional, you're made to feel so welcome like you've been friends for years, the food is outstanding and the cakes are pure heaven, then the setting it's all in just tops off that perfect visit, it made our day perfect so thank you all, we will be back VERY soon.

My boyfriend and I went to The Artisan Cafe this morning, they were very accommodating as I am dairy intolerant, they gave me dairy free butter with my traditional breakfast. It set us up for the day. Would definitely recommend

Holt is a bimbling town and ably served by cafes, each with their own identity. The Wandering Whelk is nicely tucked away by a car park. We opted for coffee and toasted tea cakes but the menu was full of breakfast/ brunch treats. There were cakes too. It was very clean, relaxing and speedy service. It is an ideal place to linger over coffee and "a little something" as Winnie the Pooh might say

Called in Today for a quick snack & drink as we have been here several times in the past. Unfortunately it was not quite the same as it was a couple of years ago. One member of staff was not as customer friendly as she could have been. Food was less than average. Sorry but we won't be returning

Best iced coffee ever! A regular here, staff always helpful and polite. Place is always clean and tidy. Food is always freshly cooked. Dogs always welcomed with a bowl of fresh water and a butcher's sausage. Today after a stressful morning I needed a nice friendly place to go. No brainer! Megs and an iced coffee, all is right again with the world. Thanks Thomaz

Found this open on the last day of our short break and left wishing it had been open earlier in the week. The best vibes and coffee in Holt by a long mile.
