Lovely pub, good location, good times really, recommended

Such a shame about Kevin Tweedy as was a lovely pub, should be ashamed of himself for his actions, as well as those trying to prevent the information from being spread about the kind of man the owner was (which is public)

Quiet Saturday afternoon with chilled music and no sport screens. Great real ale selection. Mostly pales.

Haven driven passed it many a time thought about time I went in. I thought nice and pleasant pub with friendly staff and good beer selection.

Unreal food; fine dining quality in a homely pub. Highly recommend!

Beers were very nice. Didn’t eat here as none of the food options seemed as substantial enough for us as our appetite was hoping for. Would have liked some hips included in some of the options rather than having to order them additionally.

I genuinely think this is the best pub in Norwich in terms of beer selection and staff service, and that is saying A LOT. I've been to pretty much every single pub in and around Norwich. I don't think I've ever come here and not been spoilt for choice, they always seem to keep it new and interesting and the staff always seem to know all the beers inside out which in itself is impressive and speaks volumes. The only *minor* negative is that it's right next to a main road but come on when a pub is this good who really cares?!

I've eaten here numerous times in the last year and can't rate it highly enough. The food is superb Michelin quality. I usually have fish and it's always fresh, tasty with an interesting sauce. Different friends I've been with have had the steak "sublime" and vegetarian dishes "amazing" Have also had the best Sunday roast here. Not tried the BBQ yet but will do. The friendly staff are knowledgeable and passionate about food, beer and wine. I hope it continues to thrive. So lucky to have such a gem in NR3

New food menu. Cask & draft ales. Plenty of seating inside & outside. Happy atmosphere.

Second time for food after such an amazing first time. Didn’t quite hit the same heights as our first experience. Our starters (the bread) was burnt, all our mains came out at different times, waiter didn’t write down our sides, which is unfortunate and mistakes happen. But when explained to my hard of hearing father in law, the waiter had to repeat herself and turned a bit obtuse (???) and then never returned to our service. Dealt with the manager and the chef(??) after that, who both seems aggrieved that we weren’t happy with the service. All very odd. You’re allowed to be criticised - it wasn’t good tonight and to have steak without a carb… is a basic mistake to make. Would add, the manager did his best to apologise and make up for the mistakes, but unfortunately it was all a bit awkward by this point!

Brilliant place for food and drinks, such a social atmosphere, highly recommend this place

This is just fantastic food. Have eaten here twice now and the food would be at home in a Michelin starred eatery. This said, it is a great relaxed atmosphere with lovely friendly staff. They have recently switched to a BBQ format and forget run-of-the-mill burgers - the food standard is still up there and so tasty. We had two teenagers with us last night and they absolutely loved it . Ten out of Ten. Will be back soon.

The pint was amazing I went here with my mum and we made a joke amongst ourselves about how we should have a taster of every pint there. The bartender over heard us and told us it was the unspoken rule to try max of 5 and then pick one. I then smashed a glass as I was leaving #sorrynotsorry The pint was amazing. Thanks

Excellent roast dinner- belated Mother’s Day treat from my son. Service excellent , food beautiful cooked and full of flavour.

I have say my experience at The Artichoke was amazing. The food was Gourmet quality, and one of the best meals I have ever had. I have travelled extensively and dined in fine restaurants, so feel justified in my opinion. The service was excellent, with a very efficient and polite waitress.

If it somebody else's round, then this is well worth a visit... Can only comment on Saturday night, but was very lively, and the overpriced, unpronounceable German larger was very nice, as someone else payed, after I'd got past the initial over tastiness, and acclimatised... Leaving me wanting more, but isn't that what the best pubs do?.. Toilets are... Traditional, now with a hipster twist/graffiti, you decide.

Top notch roast only let down slightly by the Yorkshire pudding, the chef had a problem with the oven and the horseradish not having enough kick for my taste. 9.5 for me

Amazing beer and some of the best food I've had in Norwich, amazing bar and staff in general. Really kind atmosphere.

We've been here recently on a Sunday 5pm and it's been rammed. Congratulations! The food is fantastic. For a five star review -like better gravy stronger (for beef) not generic gravy. Definitely Better Horseradish. Creamed is rubbish really. Need something with a bit of kick at least. And maybe an extra couple of roasties for the money. The sausages are well worth the extra. That said I bloody loved it. On to the beers. All the beer boards I've ever seen have prices. Please post on the board. No reason at all why not. As we said at the end. Not going to come back. Licked plate meant nothing. Lol. See you soon.

Good service, good atmosphere and excellent drink selection but overpriced food. Ordered a dish which was 'available to be made vegan': i.e. cheese was removed but it was still the same price. Food tasted good but when it arrived I thought it was a side dish due to the size. Some pearl barley and 3 pieces of squash for £14 was way too overpriced. It would have been appreciated to either have a 'cheese' alternative or a couple of quid off. Will definitely come back, but only for drinks.

Called in after beer festival. First time and was surprised by the inside. Very well done out and friendly staff. Great selection of beers and ales. Not many people but was a Tuesday afternoon!

What a great pub. 15 minute walk from the town centre and such a welcoming vibe from the minute you walk in the door. Lots of cask and keg beers to choose from, plenty of space and a comfortable outside seating area. Would highly recommend a visit

It's honestly a crime that the Artichoke and the kitchen there isn't booked to capacity every weekend. The team at the Artichoke know their stuff, have built out an incredible drink selection (natural wines and great beers) and the food is incredible - and at great value too. If you're not there, you're missing out.

No lager selections unfortunately. A dying pub, sad to see.

Always a great selection of craft beer and down to earth venue and staff. Haven’t been since they’ve started their own food - need to try that out.

Toilets are nice and clean, plenty of staff available. There is a selection of art on the walls which is available to purchase which is a nice touch. The smell of fried foods made my stomach rumble. Prices were reasonable.

We were here for our son Tim's wedding party it was wonderful - I am temporarily in a wheel chair and the staff went out of their way to help. The atmosphere was great and everyone seemed to be happy particularly Tim and Marcella. A truly lovely afternoon

The artichoke has a wonderful large beer garden, perfect for a sunny afternoon pint and the cosey atmosphere inside is also so warm and welcoming. The beer and general alcohol selection is extensive, I think no matter what your tipple is, you will fine a lovely drink to suit your mood. The food is genuinely some of the best I have ever had, I love coming here with my partner or a group and ordering a few different dishes to share because everything is always so good (also fresh and Seasonal). The staff are all fantastic, so knowledgeable, friendly and so attentive, they are some really cool guys and gals. 10/10

The Artichoke is a traditional pub which offers a fine dining experience. Excellent meal. Dog friendly too which is also a bonus. Friendly and very helpful staff, made us all feel welcome. Large selection of beers. Down side, no dessert on offer!

The pub has a great selection of beer on tap, in cans, and large bottles. It's a must stop on the North City crawl. The food is now produced in-house, as opposed to hosted pop-ups, and makes the pub worth a visit if you're not drinking. The food is very tasty with simple flavoursome small plates. A touch more salt, sherry instead of balsamic vinegar, and a runny egg yolk here and there would have made it even better.

Visited for pub quiz. Quite chaotic as you can imagine. Never been before but was a good night.

Good pub, but not for the first time, not much choice for those who like traditional amber best bitters. However perfectly understandable for a pub to sell what their regulars want ;-)

Popped in for a late Sunday lunch, and it was different from what I was expecting, but it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was more of a tapas style, so smaller portions and you need to order a couple of dishes, but the quality was excellent. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants something slightly different for a pub lunch. There was also a large range of beers on tap, which is obviously not a bad thing for a pub.

Cider was lovely. Can't remember what it's called but had no bubbles and was rhubarb
