Ordered 2 paninis with chicken bacon and cheese which were tasty but small portion for the price charged. They came with a tiny salad and small portion of crisps. Had a coffee and hot chocolate and was charged £27. Next day went into Ben Arthur's bothy and we had a 2 course meal and drinks for only £10 more which was far better value.

Absolute rip-off. Scandalous prices. £4 for a bread roll out of a packet and a slice of sausage was bad enough but my bill for a roll and a can of Ken bru was £7.10 I queried it and was told the can cast £3.10!!!! I could buy a 24 pack for £10.50. And, it was a can from a multi-pack that was clearly marked ‘must not be sold separately’ If I had cash on me I’d have left a fiver and not a penny more.

Stopped here for breakfast. Absolute rip off..14.50 for breakfast, which would have been OK but failed to tell us it was another 4 pounds for coffee, as it wasn't included in the breakfast,.I had a very small ,weak cappacino and a bap with a slice of bacon in it..bill was over 26pounds and we were still hungry. Do yourself favour and go to rest and be thankful about 10 mins away.Food truck there has amazing food at half the price. I also heard the owner asking an older man for a tip and he said no,and after the gentleman left,I could hear him talking about him and laughing with a stsff member. Avoid,Avoid.Avoid

My husband and I stopped in after a long walk ready for lunch. Plenty of seating as it was quiet when we went it. There was a lot of choice on offer: sandwiches, jacket potatoes, panini, soups and on the board specials. The cakes were out of this world- the jam and cream scone was huge and so good!

Stoped for a panini, it was £7.50 which is fairly expensive even by inner city standards, but I thought, if its good I'm ok with that. It was just that, ok, nothing special certainly not worth £7.50, but the kicker was it was absolutely tiny!! I'd have begrudged paying £3.50 for something that small!! Very, very disappointed. I feel robbed. Just down the road the villige cafe is much cheaper and 3x bigger!

Stopped off here this afternoon on our way home. The place doesn't look like much from the outside and when you go in the inside doesn't do much to alter that view. Don't let that put you off. The food is tremendous.Mike, the owner, has his own style and sense of humour. Thoroughly enjoyed our wee chat with him. The range of burgers is interesting. Both my wife and daughter chose one and they described them as some of the best they'd eaten. High praise indeed from a foodie who views burgers as a last resort. I had a haggis panini, freshly caught this morning, and it was superb. My granddaughter's choice was the soup of the day...tomato and basil and she also described it as the best she'd had. I'm not one for singing anyone's praises. I usually give fair reviews that are balanced with both good and bad points. My only negative opinions would be the decor and overall look of the place however the quality of the food far outweighed any negative thoughts I initially had.We were talked in to taking away some dessert (didn't really take much convincing). The Mars Bar cheesecake is amazing. If you're passing through Arrochar stop there and buy some. Thanks Mike for a lovely meal and convivial chat. Hope the carrot cake turned out all right.

While on a short holiday in Scotland came upon these tea rooms, as we entered we were greeted by a gentleman I now belive is the owner Michael. It was a very warm and welcoming one, once we had asked him about his menu we decided on the large breakfast, well it was a plate of quality and quantity. The food was really tasty and was presented not just thrown on the plate. As we left we asked for some choc chip shortbread which we ate later, again the quality was there. I would recommend this establishment to anyone going within a few miles of Arrochar. Thank you Michael.

The parking could be an issue for those with mobility issues. It is small so it has both a cluttered and homely feel to it. Service is friendly and efficient and the coffee and cake we had was absolutely fine. The cafe advertises itself well and it may be that on first sight visitors might have second thoughts but that should not deter you- it really is fine. It is a little expensive compared to some better furnished and decorated cafes in the area but given that it is seasonal and people have to earn a living, the additional expense is no big deal. In saying that, it is probably about £1.50 (at most) dearer than the many places we have visited in the area and had similar so the expense is hardly going to break the bank. Keep it up people.

Group of 12, ordered some sandwiches and panninis to take away. Food took close to an hour to be made, panninis were small and were £6.50+ and came with no sides until we pointed out that the menu stated that they were accompanied with crisps and salad. A can costs £1.50 and a small slice of cake was £3.50+. The quality of the food was far outweighed by the long waiting times, the ridiculously expensive prices and the disorganisation of the place and staff. Extremely disappointing.

Finished my coffee and was sitting outside enjoying the day as it was sunny. At 12:00, I was asked if I would like anything else to drink. I replied no. I was then told I needed to order something else or move on. There was a free table out the front of the cafe with nobody sitting in it and loads of free chairs.

This place is more like a coffee shop cafe than an actual tea room so if your expecting tea room like quality and service you are going to be disappointed. I liked this place we stopped here for some coffee and a snack. Coffee was good tea was average we had sandwiches. Its nothing amazing but it was good and it gave us a nice respite on our travels into the highlands. Service was good and the food and coffee came out rather quickly which we liked.Parking is on the street or there is a little area beside the shop that you can park but its rather steep.

Was expecting great quality fresh food . But very disappointed . Looking forward to local mussels but off the menu . Scallops were fresh but the sauce let it down and the bread was stale and expensive . Both in the end had fish and chips , that was two very small pieces of fish each , couldn't hardly see any fish , most likely frozen due to the texture and appearance . Staff were excellent and beer was good

The hotel is an experience. The food is wonderful the beds comfortable and the cosy. Great place to stay for visits to the island. Looking forward to a visit in the summer. PLEASE finish the residents lounge.

I am giving you an excellent review based on previous visits but arrived Thursday 14th November at 11:15 and it was closed. Website says open at 10:00 and opening time on door says 10:30. Several people left disappointed during my 20min seat on bench. Off to Port Bannatyne for my brunch. Can you update your opening hours on door and social media platforms.

What an absolute find. This place was amazing in every way. The staff are welcoming, friendly and so attentive. The food was out of this world. Would definitely recommend 100% and will be back. Just wish we had found it at the start of our holiday and not at the end

Met up with a friend for lunch today. ALWAYS reliably happy with our meals at The Esplanade over the many years.... But today's young chef was very astute with his skills. We had *Cullen skink, the baguette was fresh and warmed....so often it is not; (it's the little things like this that make you come back,), *fish n chips, and *incredibly chunky steak pie, with a lid rising up to the ceiling I'm my opinion all 3 meals really were the best examples on the island. Well done to: *The Esplanade for keeping up the standards of quality which bring people back * The Chef * The always friendly and helpful waitress 😁 (Love the new curtains and furnishings 😁)
