The Ardentinny Restaurant in Argyll & Bute

We were staying in the village for a week and ate at The Ardentinny on three evenings, and had excellent meals each time. Well presented and good sized portions. The menu is fairly small, but well varied, with an obvious use of local products where possible. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and it is dog friendly. (Just check their opening hours during the off season) Highly recommended !

Visited on a cold dark Jan Friday evening and were greeted nicely and received friendly attentive service from two helpful serving girls. The menu is quite unusual with just 4 mains and in general choice appears in large part aimed at vegetarians which seems odd in such a rural setting. Overall the food quality/taste was unfortunately fairly ordinary although not expensive . We were the only diners in the large modern dining extension which obviously felt a bit soulless and has a slightly utilitarian cafeteria feel but no doubt on a sunny day will feel far better with views over the loch. In summation for our palate the food offering really needs to be reconsidered and improved .

Wow!!! For those that love amazing food surrounded by everything that the West Coast of Scotland scenery has to offer, this is the place to come to. We had a mix of superb steaks and fresh fish dishes. Seb and Farhan in the kitchen along with Allegra and Kaitlin in the bar made us feel totally welcome and made our day really special. We will be visiting again. If you enjoy great food and drink, add The Ardentinny to your "must visit" list. Fabulous

Beautiful place excellent service topped of with excellent food I had local venison and my wife had roast squash Loved it and will be back to be out on the deck

service was spot on, reasonably priced, food not the best , but nonetheless very acceptable - the only restaurant we returned too on our short 3 day trip.

Delicious food served by a friendly team in a cosy and light bar and restaurant. Dog friendly in the bar. We were made to feel very welcome, especially by Caitlin. The venison and chicken and leek pie were excellent

Very average food. Fish n chips was probably the least appetising I have had. Burnt n soggy oily chips, cold mushy peas and for some reason the fish gave off a yellow oil?? Service was good thanks but a bit pricey for what we had. Good luck to a lovely venue but maybe pick up on dress codes and food presentation.

Was up for the day. Absolutely lovely welcome and very friendly. Food was great. Steak pie and and scallops were amazing. Very dog friendly in bar. The girls were amazing. Defo be back. Xx

Very welcoming staff , including local residents in the bar. Dog friendly and everyone made a fuss of our Golden retriever. We have visited 3 times in the week and had a great time on each occasion. Food was well presented and of a high standard. Would recommend a visit and hopefully this restaurant will thrive and survive in these difficult financial times!

Excellent food! Nice friendly staff, smiles from the kitchen too :) - great location and fantastic outlook onto loch long from restaurant and bar. The food was wholesome, one of the best steak pies I've ever had! There was a dressing on top of the oysters, although nice, I would have liked the option of just tasting the oyster, also presented on top of red salt....not to be eaten - I don't think they required the presentation salt either! Will definitely be back!

Sailed to the moorings operated by the restaurant and rowed ashore. Good big portions of pub grub, fish and chips were great.

A perfect location on the water, well prepared and creative dishes, friendly staff. One of the best meals I have had, with a beautiful setting. A gem of surprise on such a remote Ardentinny small village. Recommend it without hesitation and well worth the a trip even if it is out of your way.

I am always searching for great places to eat with a welcome to match quality. Today I took the chance and called The Ardentinny. Super welcoming conversation and genuine service which made me sure the chill ice was right . On arriving the location is excellent and the welcome was as good. A lovely table and super choice of food. The owner / chef was very accommodating . Scallops perfectly cooked and lamb spotnon. The burnt broccoli and greens etc were excellent . Convinced to have tue rosemary crème brûlée by table next to be, it was fab. Good choice of wines and a genuine passion for what they do. Lovely couple have only just taken this over at Easter . I recommend highly . I will be back x
