Our plans fell through so ten of us descended on The Applecart at 6 o'clock on a Thursday evening in the hope of getting a table. The staff were excellent and really accommodating and quickly found a table for all ten of us (including a child and a wheelchair user). Needless to say we all ordered something different but all the food arrived at the same time and was really good. I had the double beef burger which was excellent. Staff were really friendly and efficient with a special mention of the young waiter who looked after us so well.

Dined here tonight whilst staying in the hotel and I was impressed. I went on the day time menu and enjoyed the Chicken goujons and Rump Steak. All very well cooked and tasted lovely. Chelsea who was the waitress was attentive and friendly. Enjoyable meal.

Amazing service and so quick. Lovely atmosphere. Charging sockets at every table. The food was amazing. And had a bar area.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions and it is a good place to go for a meal if you are on a budget. Don't expect too much and you will have a great time, that is not to say that it is awful, because it isn't, it is just very basic. If you want a steak cooked exactly as you like it, there are better places. Equally, if you like a no frills all you can eat breakfast buffet, this might just be the place for you!

Service was awful, we waited and waited ages to try get kids deserts but no one on bar and the 2 girls were Serving tables so we just left and kids went with out ...even though we had already payed foe there deserts. Will not go bk again

Food and service was great. I stayed at the hotel and had dinner here. Perfectly reasonable prices. Great selection. Steaks were top quality and cooked as I asked. Service was good.

Took a while to get seated as there'd been a bit of a rush at lunch but once we were the food arrived quickly and was nice. The staff were obviously working very hard and we're friendly regardless.

This is one of my favourite places for breakfast. This morning I didn't manage to get it because I hadn't booked! Wow, it just shows you how good it is because the restaurant was full at 8:30!

Good food, plenty of choice, self service for Breakfast. Evening meals were table service, again good food, reasonable wine choice, nice staff.

Came here as booked for dinner and breakfast included with my stay at the premier inn. The food was lovely and staff were nice and friendly. If you come here just for the restaurant, it can be on the slightly more expensive side but the food quality makes up for that, and the included dinner and unlimited breakfast with your stay with premier inn is surprisingly good value per person considering you get a very nice 2 course meal, a drink and then unlimited breakfast the following morning for approx £25 per person.

Always good value, foo9d was well cooked and presented, just occasionally there seem to be too many children, but thats just a personal thing !

Bought drinks and as it was in the services area attempted to feed my children a picnic in the outside picnic area only to be told we weren't allowed. Appreciate there is a pub here but it's not clear it's not part of the services (usually there are outside places to eat). The girl was rude and announced loudly to the whole pub garden (she didn't even come over discreetly). Really embarrassing and unnecessary. It's not like we set up camp in the middle of the inside restaurant. Signage and a bit of compassion would not go amiss

when we go.to have Sunday roast they have no beef lamb only chicken left and 1 30 pm not good enough and the price keeps going up so steep and we get an answer from the staff that they are busy even when we have booked and long time to wait menu stays the same as well all year when do get roast dinner its burnt its not good enough

Fantastic service from the friendly staff . Food was beautiful my steak was cooked to perfection & tasted amazing.

We had an utterly appalling and shocking experience at this restaurant- Beef eater- Apple Cart at Didcot. We went there as it was my Birthday, and that was the nearest place we could go, reached at 0845 pm- I agree this was late; But when we booked the table, no one advised they close at 0900pm. We have been there before and , this is the second time we've encountered such poor quality and service. Served by K H (as per the bill)., I ordered grilled salmon served with Butter sauce and Roast potatoes. The food was cold, was completely tasteless and came with no sauce. The portion for an adult wasn't even enough for a kid. And please, for the love of food, keep some vegetables in stock! I wonder how boiled potatoes mixed with roast veggies became "roast vegetables." Some of the ordered Calamari was half cooked and tased of raw batter/coating!! Our kids, who usually love mac and cheese, now hate it after eating it here. The server even brought out a single bowl of potato chips for both kids, despite us ordering separately for each. To add to the disappointment, there was no starter and no pudding, yet we were still charged 90% of the cost of a 3-course meal. This isn't about the money—it's about the sheer rudeness of the staff. When we raised our concerns, the server dismissively said, "You came near closing time, maybe that's why...." This level of customer service is shocking and unacceptable. If the restaurant cant serve customers past 0845 pm, they shouldn't allow people to book for a table nor keep the restaurant open at such times. We won't be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before dining here.

We always come here because you consistently serve up lovely food with good service. Tonight Rosie our waitress and her boss I think where great. So nice visiting here so friendly helpful.

I can only comment on the incredible level of customer service. My 83 Mom had a very stressful journey and had been driving most of the day. She pulled over to take a break and became very unwell - the staff at the Beefeater could not have done anymore to look after her until the paramedics (and ultimately an ambulance arrived to take her to hospital). I live an hour away and they kept me informed on her status and even contacted me the following day to check on Mom's status. I am so grateful for the level of compassion that was shown by the whole team. Thank you so much.

The food was okay, the waitress was lovely but the manageress or supervisor didn't seem to know her job and what discounts to give. I was in on Sunday the 30th of June. I got seated and mentioned I had a tastecard for 25% off the bill. I was told they don't take tastecard on a Sunday and when they do it is only 25% off of main meals. Fortunately I had the Meercat meals App on my phone so managed to show her that was accepted Sundays and discount on entire bill but was told that Tastecard still isn't taken on a Sunday and is only on main meals. I checked online when I got home and she is wrong. I was going to get in touch with their head office to let them know that restaurant isn't giving the deals it should, but decided to write this review instead. Hopefully now someone from the restaurant will see it and check and then update their policy there.

Visited here on Saturday afternoon. We arrived early but were shown to a table straight away. All staff we can into contact with were excellent, offering genuine service. Kyle was outstanding. His service was top rate. Attention to detail was fantastic. He made sure we had everything we wanted. As for the food well it was great too and did not wait long. Chicken was flavouresome ribs were so tender. 1 had gammon which apparently was great. Great visit. Thank you

Food and service were excellent. But please turn down your air-conditioning. It was freezing. A party of four and we were all uncomfortably cold.

Came here for fathers day breakfast. Booked for 1030. Were not made aware that at 11 they would be taking everything away and clearing up. I know they had to prep for a busy lunch. But by the time we had time to get food for kids and my disabled mum we didn't even get time to have a coffee because the machines were cleaning. My dad even got told off for getting a pot of jam to go with the bowl of porridge he already had on the table. I understand they had a quick turnaround but we wanted to enjoy our breakfast at least.

I visited this evening, just myself and my 3 year old daughter. The witness serving was an absolute gem. I real credit to the establishment. She was patient and engaging with my daughter and very understanding of what it is like to dine with children. The food came really quickly and was hot and tasty. Reasonably priced. Kelly (I think that is what her name tag said), the waitress, is what has made me write this review. She was absolutely spot on at being available and efficient as well as a lovely, friendly server. The pub got busier as we were there and even though Kelly was run off her feat it didn't effect her service. I mentioned on the way out I was really pleased with her service and they suggested a trip adviser review. So here it is!

Service great but portions small Breakfast is excellent worth having

We went for a meal tonight and found out they had T-bone steak on the menu so had to have that. It was delicious and Cleo who served us deserves a special mention , she was exactly what every restaurant should have , friendly, attentive, happy , with her service and great food , it made it a thoroughly pleasant evening.

Booked a table for meal when we ariived from 10 hour journey too be told not serving food!!! Why take our booking and we wasn't the only ones

I was away on business and just wanted a place where I could be in and out quickly. This worked perfectly. Standard type menu for this type of establishment but more than adequate. Didn't have to wait for a table. Service was quick and efficient. I would highly recommnend.

Was looked after by Nate, lunchtime visit,ribeye was cooked perfectly and a runny eggy on the top, wife enjoyed a Gammon steak again cooked very nicely.

Went for breakfast with better half & Grandchildren & the food was smashing, hot & nothing missing from the selection ... What complains could anybody have when kids eat "free" under 16 years so breakfast worked out at £5.50 p/h ... Defo will be back

Great deal. The selection of cooked food was excellent. The cappuccino coffee was not overly hot. But left the premises not needing to until early evening.

Perfect place for me whilst dining alone for work. Order taken quickly, didn't have a long wait and for the food and drinks to arrive. Excellent quality. Special shout out for Leah H who served me and did a great job.

Haven't visited for several years as having moved away. Popped in when passing on a journey home. Restaurant is looking very tardy and in need of a face-lift. The food was more than adequate for our needs. It was well cooked, and the service was good.

The food was nice but a bit pricey. Luckily we had a 33% off voucher! It was very clean and tidy and the staff were really friendly. The churros sundae was delicious. We would definitely return.

Popped in for a beer around 4 o'clock. No one eating but staff were 'larking arond' and more interested on chatting than serving me. Toilets in bad need of refurbishment. Overall its a dump.

My wife and I were travelling down to Weymouth from the Midlands and decided to look for somewhere to have breakfast. We initially pulled into McDonald’s, but the car park was full and the place was packed with people so we parked in the Beefeater’s car park and decided to have something to eat there instead. Unfortunately for us we had missed the breakfast service, and it was still quite a way from the lunch service beginning, but the very nice gentleman behind the bar told us that he would make us some hot drinks if we wanted. We took him up on the offer, so we at least had a rest and loo break before we set off on our way again. Thank you for making us welcome, and hopefully next time we are passing we will be in time for a meal.

If you want to wait for ages at the entrance without anyone serving you, this is the place to you. Avoid

As with all Beefeaters, expect to stand around for ages while they come and collect your details and give you a table. Worst I’ve known for this. Avoid this place, poor staff and service

Very clean the staff were lovely Rosie was a great server and looked after us highly recommend food was nice and tasty and nice atmosphere ! Breakfast was lovley too plenty of options if staying in the hotel I definitely recommend the beefeater next door we went here every night !

Pretty poor, turned up at 1900 on a Saturday and there was food on the floor and dirty tables. Staff werent particularly friendly so turned around and went elsewhere.

This place has seen better times… the staining on the chairs has to be seen to believed… not sure the staff really wanted to be working on a Friday night… table more sticky than the puddings. Avoid….

Slow service. Waited at desk on arrival for 10 minutes. Several staff walked by and ignored us. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to acknowledge someone and say that someone will be with you soon!!! We’re seated and given a drink but then waited another 15 minutes before anyone came to take the order. When it arrived the main meals looked ok but the portion of chips was very poor. £3.49 for less than half a bowl!! I commented and the waiter agreed that it looked sad but didn’t do anything about it. Priced have increased and is no longer good value. Standards are falling again.

Pleasant place to unwind on the go.

We attended this restaurant in February, we pre booked a table. When we arrived we approached the desk where a lady was working, however we were not acknowledged for a number of minutes as she was busy typing away. Eventually she did say she would be with us in a minute. Eventually she got round to greeting us and showing us to our table. Our waitress came to take our drinks order, my wife ordered a gluten free beer, but they did not have it. I ordered an alcohol free beer, but they didn't have it. My wife ordered a glass of red wine, but they did not have it. I understand places can run out of things but to have the first 3 not there was unbelievable and disappointing. The food was average, the waitress was very good however. Only visit here if you are prepared to have your 2nd or 3rd choice. I have since raised these issues with the company directly, but got a very poor response and felt like this is just normal for them. Not a great experience.

Despite recommendations, I was extremely disappointed with the standard of food.

Had an 80th birthday celebration with 22 family members. Our waitress Kelly was amazing, very organised and went through the order in advance to check all was ok. The food was lovely and very hot and the service was good , they brought the cake out we had provided with plates and napkins. we were there after everyone had else had left but were not hurried at all . Thanks to all at the Beefeater we had a lovely do.

Great service from leah again, we've been here a few times and the service is great when leah is your waitress some of the others are overbearing and rude

Would give 0 stars if possible, was truly dreadful, we arrived for our booking and there was only 2 other tables of 2 in at the time so the restaurant was quite, the staff had seen us arrive but left us standing waiting for 5 minutes while they had a chat , we was then seated and not served for another 15 minutes before deciding to leave, the cleanliness of the place was also disgusting. Beefeaters as a whole seem to have gone right downhill

Was Mother's Day but food was excellent.

Leah was brilliant and looked after us very well. She was friendly, gave us lots of space, and good with children from what we saw from her interaction with other tables. We felt welcomed and had a good time!

Had the sharing sunday roast.Not worth the price.Small amount of thin meat anemic stuffing ball with only carrots and peas plus 3 parsnips ,Roasts.and very small pigs in blankets.

Couldn’t rate the food because I arrived a 9:02 pm to be told that the kitchen was closed. As the only on-.site source of food for the Premier Inn this was not welcome news. I therefore resorted to a drink and a packet of peanuts. The unhelpful staff member behind the bar shouted at me, as went in search of a table, that I was only allowed to sit in the bar area as the other tables were for people who were going to eat. The chance would be a fine thing. Overall it was a very poor welcome and convinced me not to try another Beefeater restaurant.

Had breakfast in here twice excellent food very busy and didn’t have to wait long went in with 3 others all happy and will use this place again on way to football matches.

Spacious, not busy during the week which I prefer, service is prompt and the food is always great value for money. Especially the children's menu which offers healthy options.

Had a lovely breakfast part of the Premier Inn breakfast deal. Service was great met the chef she was great! We had already been served by the same waitress earlier in the day, remembering what we were drinking, big bonus! We were seated and seen to in a timely manner. The breakfast was cooked as requested so no complaints there, was cooked perfectly We will definitely be returning! Thanks for a lovely stay and a good send off with our breakfast!

Stayed here on a recent family visit. plenty of parking, that's no issue. Food is good with attentive and polite service,and comfortable seating. Not huge portions,perhaps a little more on your plate wouldn't go amiss. Comfortably room,unfortunately the air extractor in the bathroom didn't work, which caused moisture when showering etc. Nice buffet breakfast at reasonable prices,and you can eat as much as you wish,two prices ,one for hot food and one for a continental breakfast, ( just cold food ) but called continental. Comfortable,nice food ,polite staff,no issue recommending here.

I had dinner with my family there. The staff provided excellent service. They are so nice and helpful. There are a lot of merits such as spacious, easy access and free parking outside the restaurant. The quality/ value of food is reasonable.

Just had a fantastic roast here my part had a ribs combo. Also fantastic! Friendly service, food was cooked perfectly. Definitely will go back .

The manager here absolutely hates children and believes they should be fed to gorillas. The staff play beer roulette where you pay a quid and pick one pint from a possible six. If you're lucky, you'll get beer. If not, it's the contents of the bog brush holder in the gents! Happy gambling! Monday to Friday 6pm to 7pm is all-you-can-eat dry roasted peanut hour. The eating of beef is strictly prohibited and is punishable by a mallet to the genitals. There is no lighting in this place at all which takes some getting used to but also gives the fondle tunnel an extra bit of danger.

Disorganised scruffy staff that didn’t seem to know who was in charge. I waited for ages even though they were just stood around talking to each other. When someone finally came over they said they were too busy and I’d have to come back in an hour. The place was less than half full. I counted 14 empty tables but was told to come back in an hour. Didn’t bother it looked rough and run down anyway.

Met up with friends and had a very enjoyable lunch.

This was our 3rd visit in 4 months. On both previous occasions our fillet steaks were perfectly cooked as ordered, and were lean, tender and tasty. On this occasion, sadly, our fillets were very poor. Both steaks were under cooked - rare instead of medium rare, but more importantly they both had thick lines of gristle running through them. About 1/3 of Mrs Dibble's fillet was inedible. We pointed this out to our excellent server, who said she would pass this back to the kitchen. However, nothing happened as a result. A very disappointing meal.

Was not expecting much, but was very much surprised! Great quality, Great service, Great Value!! During my 2 night stay at the premier Inn I had dinner here both nights! Highly recommend the beefeater combo as everything was delicious and the portion was huge. Also had the steak and more of the amazing chicken wings. Worth giving a try!

Good meal, not great but very good. I had the prawns and they were slightly over cooked but tasty never the less.

Staying at the nearby Premier Inn, makes this Beefeater a simple no nonsense option. This review is not just from 1 visit but weekday meals over 2 weeks. Location is good with good signage from the roadside and free parking during the visit both in front and behind the restaurant. The entrances both lead directly to the podium where a member of staff will greet and escort to your table, asking questions such as any allergies and offering to get drinks whilst choosing from the menu. Decor is typical brand with seating arranged at multiple levels. Service has been great from all members of the team but must say that Leah, Dawn and Harry stand out for managing what should be a simple but specific order (no ice can be extraordinarily difficult at other restaurants). Speedy, efficient, tasty and perfectly proportioned meals - I have returned to this location even though I have other options closer to my workplace!

Stopped over for lunch on Nrw Years Eve. We were able to charge our electric car at the BP garage next to the restaurant. We had to download an app, but it all worked well for a stop off on our journey. The food was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We all had two courses (starter /main), and the options were varied, steaks were good. There are also many vegetarian options.

I went to the Apple Cart this afternoon with my daughter for some fish and chips. The food was outstanding and the chips were probably the best we have ever tasted!! We were served by a waitress called Caitlin who was wonderful. So friendly, warm and attentive. We felt extremely cared for. The food came quickly and the over all experience was truly great. A++++ from us

Had the unlimited breakfast here, staff were helpful, food was hot and plenty of it. Clean and tidy.

First time eating here in a long time. Easy to book. Friendly staff. All you ever wanted for breakfast. All you can eat. Great value and everything was hot.

Staff appeared to be tired, I assume some team dynamics problems going on! Really strange, first got to restaurant, no one desk so asked at bar and was told by a staff member to wait by other desk (quite abruptly!) Then that same member of staff came over and sat us!! Very strange.

Waitress was incredibly slow and lackadaisical. I had to wait 10 minutes to be served. The guy sitting next to me had to go and pick up the drink he ordered with his meal from the bar while she stood there watching. I finished my dinner 15 minutes ago and I’m still waiting for her. Was going to order a dessert. But not now. I’m sure she is a nice person and all that but don’t clear the table next to me when you know I haven’t ordered and you are my waitress.

Went a few months ago for a Sunday roast. Was absoloutley amazing. Best roast in a long time. We then went last week and had the Xmas menu. It was awful. Frozen roast potatoes is not what I expect anywhere. The sprouts were rock solid as we're Carrots 🥕

Took my family to breakfast before a day out and was very impressed. Greeted warmly by Kelly and other staff were cheerful and welcoming. Lots of variety, food piping hot and coffee was delicious.. Would highly recommend.

On our way to Gosport, we stopped for dinner at this wonderful beefeater. It was great to speak to Caitlin, she was pleasant and knowledgeable. Thank you Caitlin for the service you gave us. You was great. Good food and great service. Will stop there again.
