Can't work out what's wrong here. Confusion (or lack of knowledge) amongst staff with the menus, food not labelled properly, sides with food not as per specification on menu (and some staff not even knowing what is on the plate when delivered). Not so much a staff problem but a complete breakdown of supervision, management and training

We have visited a few times lately to look around the garden centre, but it has been some months since we last ate in the cafe/restaurant. On previous visits, my husband has enjoyed a homemade pie and I like the toasted ciabatta. Went to the drinks counter to order to diet cokes, they came out of a tap, tasted like weak soda stream and cost £3.05 for a small glass. Ordered the pie and ciabatta asking for chips with both instead of mash and crisps respectively. Well, two more uninspiring dishes could not have been delivered. The pie, no longer served in a dish with a lovely puff pastry top looked like something store bought accompanied by hard, over cooked oven chips and strangely a little jug of gravy. No veg, no salad, no nothing, £14.50. My ciabatta had hardly seen any heat and although I had asked for no tomato, what was in the middle, yes, tomato. Again a portion of overdone chips in a flower pot with nothing else no salad garnish. So this meal cost £32.50, I don’t mind paying for something that’s a least edible which the pie was really not. My ciabatta was ok, but not great. Considering it was a Monday lunchtime, it was really busy, but we sadly won’t be back.

My wife took a friend for lunch today she had a jacket potato with tuna mayo which was swimming in mayo could only eat the jacket,her friend had the smallest scone which she did comment on the size to be told it was homemade.Not wanting to cause a fuss they did not complain,needless to say they will not be eating there aygyain.

No jacket potatoes left at lunchtime so ordered a prawn sandwich and paid £2.50 to add chips. The chips were great, but £12.50 for a miserable looking sandwich and chips is very expensive. A garnish would have made it look slightly more appealing and better value.

Absolutely awful, paid £34 for 4 hot drinks and a coke with 4 cakes, all served out of paper cups and served on paper plates, with wooden forks and no napkins!!! Grubby tables, dirty floor and miserable, surly staff!!! My mum had a tea and it was a teabag in a cup with a dish of milk, what the hell!!! We want a few weeks ago and even though it was equally expensive, we at least had proper cups and plates and cutlery!!! Will not be going again, I’ll go to Costa next door, at least the coffee tastes nice! Disgusting!

So, once again all vegetarians are apparently on a diet. Aarggh!! Compare the meat option Full English breakfast to that offered as the veggie alternative (see picture). Half the size and frankly, disappointing. Not half the cost though of course! Everything seems very expensive. £10 for the full English, £8 for the (poor) veggie choice. Top-tip, order a side of toast and a side of scrambled eggs for £3.60 instead of the set Eggs on toast for £6. Coffee was nice though. It's been a couple of years or so since we last visited. Will probably be the same at least, before we do so again.
