The Granville Chinese Restaurant in Wiltshire

We ordered a takeaway online on thier website at 19.20 from this restaurant to be delivered at 20.20. Received an email confirming delivery in 60 minutes. I rang the restaurant at 20.29 to be told food had left the restaurant. At 20.45, the food arrived and was not hot enough to eat without reheating. I rang the restaurant to ask for a fresh meal. Was told by the very rude gentleman on the phone, they will not provide a fresh meal and if I want a refund I have to drive to the restaurant. My wife rang to be told they don't need our custom, and we do not know what we are talking about. No customer service at all. If you pay for hot food, you expect hot food. Not from this establishment. Ĝ

Not a nice experience, or food. Tables set with only a fork and a spoon. Meals were incomplete & had no serving spoons provided Left eating with just a fork, No soy sauce. Young waiters trying hard & would benefit from training. Hot and sour soup was OK, but just hot. Spring rolls like supermarket ones. Egg fried rice had no apparent egg and extremely greasy. Popcorn chicken used in each dish, suspect freezer to fryer. Fresh veg was raw in the sauce, quite unpleasant, we won’t be back.

This is a lovely restaurant. My husband who is English loves coming here every Sunday. The food was excellent and the staff serving us were very efficient.

One of the worst meals we have encountered £35 wasted!! Takeaway was so cold the sauce had solidified and the noodles stayed in the same shape as the dish , COMPLETELY DISSAPOINTED, The delivery driver didn't have a clue on the area even had to ring And dropped a pin with our location. Haven't even tried to eat it its so bad

A recent visit was disappointing. The owners need to do an urgent review of the food and availability of basic items . Staff very friendly

Could not fault this experience!! From entering to leaving, the service was superb!! The food was superb!! In my opinion, there was nothing to fault!! And at a reasonable price!!

My partner treated us to a celebratory meal here as we used to use this location with previous owners when it was Lee's etc and by the reviews seen elsewhere. What a huge disappointment. The restaurant was cold, the wine was warm, the menu was confusing as it was not set out like any menu I have ever seen. I ordered one of my favourite dishes, lemon chicken and I have never had such an awful meal. The rice was too salty, the chicken had no taste, it was greasy and the texture was not like any chicken I have had. The people running the restaurant gave me a glass of wine for free and did not charge for the lemon chicken. the service was not the best in my mind either. We will not be returning.

We have been here many times over many years, even with the various owner changes and to be honest the standard has dropped considerably, Menu was confusing and VERY pricey. Food lacked flavour in all items ordered, albeit rice was very salty. Missing; chopsticks, prawn crackers/dip on arrival, fortune cookies on leaving, maybe cost saving, but spoilt the evening as we were expecting the normal service. Attendance was good and reduction in bill given for unsatisfactory meal, which we appreciated. White wine needs to be chilled not warm! Sorry but we will not be visiting again, albeit the restaurant was not busy, although we had booked (for a Tuesday)

This restaurant in Melksham is currently our favourite chinese for lunch. We have visited many times over the years and I have to say that usually the standard has been good. When we visited last Friday everything about our experience was excellent. The food was freshly cooked to order and was delicious (we had the 3 course lunch menu). The waiter (we hadn't seen him before) was very courteous and friendly. The price per person was very reasonable at just under £13. So all in all, I fully recommend this establishment. If you haven't visited before, please give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We shall be back!

So excited to see dim sum in this area as none locally Ashamedly didn't have high expectations as had judged the Granville by past reviews.. Very much mistaken! Sooo good. Really not expecting quite such a good standard Highly recommended The restaurant are definitely on to a winner with this dim sum menu. Hope they continue with it as I will be a returning customer for sure Tried a number of items off this menu and all were exceptional Service very polite and welcoming, thank you Don't do fast food, do exceptional food as fast as you can ;)

Really helpful friendly staff food was amazing, restaurant clean. We are looking forward to our next visit and will definitely be recommending to family and friends

Meal was the worst chinese food I've ever eaten. Very greasy and unappetizing. Restaurant was practically empty and this place used to be busy all the time.

Table for 12 plus 2 high chairs Been today for the eat as much as you like buffet This place was amazing Mixed hor d’oeuvres to start followed by duck pancakes, crispy chilli chicken ,tempura prawns to name but a few Then to find room for mains The choice was endless, all served fresh and hot The waiter was brilliant nothing too much trouble and made suggestions Can’t wait to visit again

Very good service and reasonable prices. The food was fine but rather bland - perhaps designed for English atstes rater too much?

Worst chinese takeaway I have ever had period tiny rubber chicken balls dry sauce disgusting service was poor and they forgot my curry sauce too
