The Apollo Arms in Lambeth

We were lucky enough to be able to host our daughter’s Christening lunch at The Apollo Arms and were so thrilled with our choice. The food and wine were excellent, but even more notable was the service which was absolutely impeccable. What a wonderful team - so attentive and accommodating. We were made to feel so welcome and couldn’t have had a better experience. Thank you for making our day so special.

This was our 3rd visit in the last month, but the first on a weekend and the first with the kids. We all had the roast beef which was superb. Our waiter Cam was, again, helpful, attentive and personable.

The meat is the burgers were very thin, but the bun is loaded with other things to create a good visual impression. The chips were one large potatoe cut in to 8 peices. This cost £17.50. The fish had very puffy batter with a small fish inside (and was also very oily) This cost £17.50. So, it looked very good buy was very low on what you were actually paying for.

The dining experience offered a mix of flavorful dishes alongside missed opportunities, with pricing that didn't align with the overall experience. While the ambiance was spacious and tidy, the establishment lacked the bespoke charm expected of a gastropub at its price point. Service, though friendly, lacked attentiveness, resulting in a prolonged wait between starter and main without communication or reassurance. The starter of Foie Gras and chicken liver parfait was tasty, but hindered by a scant portion of brioche. A sophisticated sounding tagliatelle main course, while flavorful, was overly sticky, indicating overcooking, and its portion size didn't justify the steep £24.50 price tag especially when compared to the Sunday Roast at the same price. We considered ordering dessert but the lack of staff engagement prompted us to visit a local ice cream parlor instead. Ultimately, it was a high price to pay for a subpar experience, an example of an eatery going overboard on the socials but not really delivering in real life.

I went out with a few colleagues from work to catch up socially. In all honesty I felt spoiled for choice with the menu as there was quite a few things I wanted to try. I had the burrata in a harissa sauce as a starter. It was incredible in both freshness and flavour! I had the pappardelle with a mushroom cream sauce as a main - it changed my life! My life can only be broken down into "before this dish" and "after this dish" now. I will never be the same! For dessert I had the sticky toffee and banana. The top of it had this perfect sugar-crunch texture which danced on my taste buds with the other flavours! I'm not going to lie...my dessert spoon also ventured onto others plates (I eat fast). I probably lost a few friends in the process, but I was consoled by the food. I came there for friends, I left them for food. What an experience! I will be back Apollo!

In common with so many other eateries in Clapham Old Town on Saturday The Apollo Arms serves brunch. Considerably less bustling but more sedate than its rivals it serves more substantial and more substantially priced mains from its standard menu. Whilst my wife opted for salmon and scrambled eggs from the brunch menu I chose a heavily battered piece of haddock and chips mushy peas and curry sauce.

We tried the sunday lunch - our comments were dealt with in the best way possible by the management and the food was very good. It certainly is a buzzing place and great value - booking is required and it definitely is the closest thing to a roast at home - great atmosphere

An excellent evening from start to finish. Engaging and efficient service. Superb food and wine, especially the steak tartare with beetroot. We thoroughly recommend having dinner there and will certainly return.

A brilliant place for a family Sunday lunch, offering traditional dishes and much more besides. A good place like this gets very busy so it is essential to book. Relaxed atmosphere and good service.

We had Sunday lunch there today. The roast potatoes (which can often be so disappointing) were perfect. There was plenty of gravy and all the trimmings. The staff were helpful and charming. I highly recommend the Apollo Arms.

A fantastic pub with great outdoor space at the back. Went in front area for dinner and food was outstanding, having steak tatare with a crispy egg on top - yes the yolk ran onto the tatare :) followed by an unreal schnitzel, something I wouldn’t normally order but was 10/10. Will be returning soon for their roasts on Sunday.

Went to the opening of The Apollo Arms. Awesome new pub with great food and great friendly staff. Do definitely book - will not regret. Very spacious including a garden at the back. Cannot wait to go again !

Drinks outside in their wonderful garden followed by dinner inside where the atmosphere was buzzing. The staff were attentive, the food excellent - recommend the tagliatelle - and an excellent selection of drink, Butty Bach ale and Vergelegen wine. What could be better. And the dog loved it too!

Fantastic food, friendly staff and nice drinks. Really enjoyed our meal out and nice to have a new place in our area. Highly recommended

Just finished dinner at the “soft opening”. For a soft opening meal, it was first rate. James was an excellent and attentive server, the food, especially the schnitzel, was delicious, and the ambiance relaxing. A few refinements here and there and it’s the top gastropub experience in Clapham, full stop. The price point is high, so the food and service will need to maintain a high standard. All in all, a great night out.

Fantastic place with an excellent garden & terrace for summer days drinking rose! Lovely food (bar snacks were amazing) and great spaces for large groups. Looking forward to coming here again

Great atmosphere, beer garden, and staff. Ideal for an afternoon / evening with a group. The space is lively with easily some of the best bar snacks I've had - try the Scotch egg!

In a word, EXCELLENT. Delicious food, extremely friendly and attentive staff. I will certainly be going back again very soon
