May only be rated as a café but it a good one. For Sunday Lunch I had a full English breakfast which was very good but I did see a number of regular older people tuck into a generous platfull of Sunday lunch. They were well-known to the hospitable staff. Me paying cash was a bit of a problen because I don't see why they should pay a 3rd party. No I paid cash and left a cash tip for good and friendly service which is what I received.

Wonderful and friendly high street restaurant cafe which had the best English ands Italian food. Whether it's a roast turkey Christmas dinner or a spaghetti tomato basil mix you'll not be disappointed very attentive and warm staff. Caters for old and young alike. Excellent.

Such a nice place, family friendly, the owner is always very welcoming, the food is so reasonable, fresh and enjoyable. If you want value for money and on a budget then this is the place to visit. My mother especially enjoys the Full English; there are other lovely dishes to choose from on the menu. She polishes off the lot every time. It's a regular haunt for me and my mother.

A friend brought me to O Girasol, and I had a great experience . The food was fantastic the first time around, so I went again, and the food and service were just as great as my first experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves good food with excellent service. I will certainly be returning very soon.

A lovely family run cafe ❤️ Walking into a cafe that gives European vibes, tiles and brown. The breakfast was good though I would say on the portion size the sausages was slightly smaller than expected. Nothing out of ordinary here but if its full English breakfast which is less greasy served with a smile then O Girasol is the spot for you. Obergado x

Charming and cozy restaurant/cafe with variety menu from sandwiches to salads to breakfast to mains! I had lasagna with chips - super tasty! The owner family is friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!

Popped in here at 9.25 am on a Sunday morning for a solo cappuccino. Staff very welcoming, unusually open when comparable establishments were still closed. They had a cappuccino with oat milk for the same price as one with cow’s milk so that’s a bonus too. Do try this restaurant, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

By far the best cafe at West Norwood, outstanding food quality at modest prices. The service is exemplary. To a casual by passer-by it may look too prestigious.

The lengthy Norwood Road hosts a plethora of eating establishments and whilst visiting our family in London and in need of a cooked breakfast, my wife and I chose to ignore our usual haunt and instead decided to try “O Girasol”. What an astute and very fruitful decision! “O Girasol” is a family-run establishment whose singular aim is to provide its customers, with only the VERY best. And provide it they did. The very best in taste, in presentation, in cleanliness, in cost, and in their remarkable warmth and speed of service. The icing upon the cake was getting into conversation with the owners’ son, a young boy aged 10/11 (?). What exemplary manners and a boy to be extremely proud of. My wife and I can HIGHLY recommend “O Girasol” and can guarantee you’ll be absolutely delighted with everything you find. A definite West Norwood gem. A definite winning team.

Maria and Tony are always in bright moods and try to accommodate every request. Both are joys whatever the time might be and the breakkie is always great too. Thank you both!

We (and our dog) have just had breakfast here and it was tasty and fresh and cooked for us by a lovely, sociable lady who made us (and our dog) feel very welcome. We were able to mix and match off the menu and two cooked breakfasts, with toast and good coffee, came to £12.50. We'd definitely come here again and are really happy to suggest that you do too.

Really friendly family restaurant with tasty food

Had a great meal here with my wife and two sons. The staff were attentive, particularly to my son's egg and nut allergies, and the food was very tasty. Particular highlight for us was the winter salad with kale, carrots and halloumi!

This is a really good cafe in West Norwood for a hearty English breakfast. We love their food. The chef takes personal pride in serving the tastiest well cooked ingredients in each dish. We walked in just before lockdown for a brunch and have stayed faithful ever since as I have not found a cafe comparable in the quality of their food, hospitality, cleanliness and ambience at least in SW London, if not to say the least. Their hospitality is so good 😊.....if you visit once I promise you, you'll keep wanting to come here everyone you think of a 'happy place to enjoy a good meal. 😉 Today I even tried Pastéis de Nata.....and it was delicious.

All right, I popped in here about six weeks ago because it was raining proverbials outside, had a very tasty and reasonably priced pasta pollo special. Nipped in a few weeks back with a mate because we couldn't find a table at blackbird or up the hill and it was good then as well. And I've just had a VERY good fry up there, with coffee, for 8 quid, which is only 1.50 more than Delicious down the road. In an Italian restaurant? The Fry Up Police will be stumped. I've seen enough, five stars it is.

My favourite local cafe, staff are so friendly makes you feel warm and welcome. Food is always good.

Lasagne taste like baby food ,zero substance and the chips were hard ,sparce and lacking potato. Did not enjoy the lasagne third time running. Such a shame .

This Portuguese cafe is always a pleasure to visit. The food is always fresh and prepared to order. The family that run the place are lovely.

First visited here as my wife was organising a function for 50 in this small family owned restaurant. The owners are from Madeira and are extremely friendly and welcoming. I was there only as my wife's driver but because we were involved in this function we were treated to a free drink. So it only seemed fair to go back there to try their food, so that is what we did. Their menu has the usual cafe favourites PLUS some items from their home country. I had grilled sardines, can't remember what my wife ordered, but it was all delivered with a natural smile. They also have an interesting range of drinks, not local to UK with some exotic flavours. Well worth a visit, and I would imagine fantastic for a small function.

We first discovered this family run restaurant about 3 years ago, The meals are cooked beautifully, tasty, piping hot, and there is something for everyone on the menu, you are always made very welcome and nothing is too much trouble, very pleasant surroundings and never rushed, prices are very reasonable, would highly recommend,

I have been told by a friend to go and eat at this place. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. It is a family run business and that helps everybody contributing to its success. What I have order from the menu was delicious and yummy. Unpretentious and brilliant food. I had drinks while waiting for my dish and what really struck me was the welcoming aura of the owner towards everyone who came in. Apparently many ppl in that neighbourhood were casual costumers and that was a great sign to me. Overall it's great value for money, great yummy food, very nice and smiling staff. A must if you are dining on Norwood area.

Good food, good prices, good atmosphere, excellent people. A fantastic little restaurant in West Norwood, offering everything from English Breakfast to more Portuguese influenced dishes. Service is great and while it is not the most stylish place in the world, it is good. Children are really made a fuss of by the owner and colleagues. Run very efficiently by a lovely, Portuguese family. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are really caring.

Food was good, homemade lamb chops and nice omelette. Huge sized puddings and good coffee, very good value for money. Last but not least, very friendly people!

Although the people are friendly here. The ingredients are cheap and on a few occasions they have got my order wrong or have burnt the food.

Came here with a couple friends, the place is extremely dirty it needs a health and safety inspection ASAP! The lady and young kid were attentive and make you feel comfortable but the place is extremely out of date just like the food its for sure out of date. Will not be returning.

Family owned, warm welcome and wonderful service

Very nice staff who are really friendly and helpful. They serve good pasta and sandwiches. A regular place we go to and although they are justifiably busy much of the time, the service remains very efficient.

This restaurant is fantastic first you are greeted with a warm smile, I have tried most of the menu and all the meals are cooked and served to a very high standard and nothing is too much trouble. I can highly recommend, try it for yourself.

I visited O girasol last Sunday morning. I had the best poached egg on toast I have ever had. The egg was cooked just so and the bread was delicious. I had an Americano to go with it. I said I didn't like milky coffee so they asked if I would like cold or hot milk to serve on the side so that I could add it myself. The cafe is warm and welcoming and the service impeccable. I wish I lived in London because I would go again and again.

Never had lunch or dinner but this is the best breakfast caf in WNW. And so cheap - breakfasts are around 5.50-7.50 including a drink and they're lax about substitutions. The staff are lovely but a little disorganised so it can get slow when it's really busy, but I only go at the weekend so am not rushing. Nice community place.

My family and I have been going to O Girasol for years now they're like family now. The food is amazing the people are amazing the place is very clean and cozy, it's a little piece of heaven in Norwood!
