The service here was atrocious. The waiting staff were friendly but horrendously unorganised, half our food was missing and we had to keep going to the bar to chase up. By the time the sides arrived for our roast dinner, the roast dinner was cold. Some of the food never arrived, but we gave up asking. None of the staff apologised or took responsibility. A huge thank you to the kind ladies on the kids table though, they were fabulous with my 3 year old daughter and she thoroughly enjoyed herself!

I booked an outdoor table for myself and family. We were there to celebrate a milestone birthday. The service was beyond terrible. We had to order inside and two meals came twenty minutes before the others. We were missing multiple sides, we were neglected outside with no one to check how it was going. Even after requesting the missing items that came with the meal, the manager made a comment about usually charging extra (even though it was listed as part of the meal) They held no accountability for their lack of attention.

We just had our 2nd wedding day celebrations here and it was perfect. Jade and her team were great, super flexible and really lovely. We were running quite late for our lunch booking, ahead of the party we were throwing in the orchard area outside, and so they very kindly set us up a beautiful new table in the orchard for us and our family with no hassle. Jade was so welcoming, even getting us a wedding present to congratulate us, and her team were amazing throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this space and Jade’s team ☺️

Love this pub. My husband and I moved to Ham and walk across Teddington Lock. What a wonderful find. His family used to hang out here when they were young. Now we've been a few times ourselves. The food is really drinks. Good drink selection. Outside in the garden is plenty of space to sit, with a different food and drink menu. We also love all of the activities that they host and will go to as many as we can.

Very disappointed left waiting for our food for an hour, we only ordered bar snacks, no pre warning we would have to wait so long for food. Having asked at 40 mins and left further 20 mins still no food left with no option but to leave as food hadn’t arrived.

Booked a table for 7 people, but when we arrived the manager didn't seem to know about it and I was told we would have to vacate the table by 7 as there was a quiz night and they needed the table for that. Staff were noisy and appeared to be shouting orders to each other, not condusive to a pleasant meal experience. Food wasn't very hot, and was mediocre. Certainly won't be returning in a hurry.

Courtyard is lovely and the pizza was good. However - there is an outside bar where the 2 barmen were not only rude, they massively under poured drinks by freehand. If you're going to free pour - cool! But these guys were just ripping everyone off and people got very upset. Their customer 'service' was why we left and went elsewhere. Really disappointing.

We had our wedding reception at the Anglers and the whole process was really thorough and organised. Jade was really great with any questions we had and requests. We were able to cater the food to our specific tastes and have a brilliant evening in our budget. The food service was prompt and the bartender assigned to us was really helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a cute little riverside venue to host a wedding reception on a budget - this place is a steal.

I recently attended the Opera in the Garden evening and it was very well planned and attended. Everyone had a clear view and the setting was perfect. The beer garden at The Anglers is well suited for performance. We were given a warm welcome, the service was smooth, and staff were very discreet whilst serving during the show. We both enjoyed our meals. Once the temperature cooled, staff brought around hot water bottles for those who wanted. A great experience of live entertainment in a pub setting. I am sure the upcoming Shakespeare in the Garden will be a great success!

Huge garden and very paddle friendly - we moored our kayaks on the pontoon, brought our paddles up with us, and had a lovely lunch. Definitely recommend a reservation if you want to sit outside on a nice day. I appreciate the effort they made to accommodate coeliac / celiac disease and provide gluten free options. In addition to the gluten free things listed in the online allergen menu, they were able to make the burger gluten free with a gluten free bun. If you let them know you have an allergy they take extra care - they grilled my burger and corn on a separate allergen grill to prevent cross contamination.

Disappointing having brought family back after a nice experience last year. Most food was generally good but one dish came with stone cold mash, and it wasn't a great deal better on a second effort but as everyone else was finished it did. Our daughter's peas also arrived after a chase, just as she finished her meal. Very a little remorse or apology from the team and the server attempted to clear all plates while the delayed diner was still finished which is a no no.

I have been coming to the Anglers for many years.....last week I ordered a burger & chips with my friend. I asked for vegan cheese. It came and had some weird lumpy stuff in it so I asked what it was. They said they would get the manager, about 15 mins later he came (once food was cold) snd said don't eat as has dairy. He ordered another burger which eventually came after my friend had finished eating & had to leave so I ended up sitting eating my dinner alone. The portion was small for the massive price. I used to rave about their burgers and chips gf buns and vegan cheese. (As I'm dairy intolerant) This was a weird experience and the staff were very slow. No one even apologised for anything, not very professional. I never complain but I do think it's a shame that the prices are so high and the portions so small. I would rather pay to eat in a restaurant for a better service and more value for money. Other than that I love the Anglers for its location and friendly vibe. They welcome dogs and always have bowls and water available for your furry friends. I will not be rushing to dine out there now sadly as I just can't justify the prices. The drinks are expensive too. Will always love the place though....I hope they improve the menu, portions, prices and service.

This review is for the beer garden. We arrived, having reserved 2 tables in advance. Spoke to the staff member managing that area who said no such reservation was made. We went into the garden to find signs indicating 2 booths were indeed booked in our name. The problem was they were filthy and being used by a group of 10 unsupervised children as a play zone. Staff walked by repeatedly as they trashed the booths, collected about 60 plastic beer glasses and 10 dog water dishes, and had great fun chucking the lot everywhere. We fought to reclaim one booth from them, and I sat down to enjoy my first ever £8 pint. In a plastic glass that was not clean. The manager may want to take the odd walk outside!

Staff advised that they e mailed the day before but I did not read this as was busy. There was a private function starting at 4, we had booked 1-4. At 3.30 a miserable staff member told us we had to leave. I replied we will at 4, the time we had reserved seating, she snapped back and said "you booked indoor". Lovely location in a beautiful and peaceful spot, with kindly if slightly inexperienced teenage serving staff. Food is on the good side of average, but a little overpriced for the quality and size of portions. I had the vegetarian wellington - lovely crisp pastry around a flavourful filling with interesting textures from the nuts, but slightly marred by the undercooked wedges of butternut squash on the side, and a rather parsimonious quarter of a carrot given as a portion. The vegetarian gravy is good. Had a mini sticky toffee pudding after, the pudding was light and not too sweet but the accompanying squirty cream from a can was a mistake. Some things should stay in the 1980s. They have a good range of ales on tap.

We had a disappointing meal here as my wife and I found that it was difficult to eat the food because the pasta was too hard. The fish sauce was in fact quite tasty. We mentioned this to the waiter who came back with the manager who seemed quite unapologetic and explained that it was 'al dente' and it was how it was served in Italy. We have been to Italy many times (in fact twice this year) and this was 'al dente' on a new level. After some discussion he took my plate back for extended cooking with the phrase that 'it would not taste the same'. I imagine it was put in a microwave for a few minutes as it was a tad softer and I found I could eat about half of it. All in all a lot of money for a poor experience.

I was looking for a new Chinese takeaway, after reading reviews I decided to give this place a go. Upon arrival I found the decor to be a little shabby, for example, removal of the Covid screen is long overdue, made the experience a little impersonal or detached, like a petrol station after 10pm, ordering thru a hole in the Perspex. My server was polite and hospitable, managed to smile and took my order quickly and accurately, although this was interrupted by a telephone order, which I accept is their M.O. I was advised of a fifteen minute wait, my order was ready on time. After a ten minute journey home, my food was still hot. I found the (5) Crispy Pancake Roll very crispy, however may require more seasoning, a little salt corrected this. (30) Kung Po Pork, was excellent, considerably more onion and carrot than pork, however really scratched my itch for spice and sweet, would definitely order again. (82) Special Fried Rice was loaded with pork, prawn and chicken, and was a generous portion; however the rice was not consistently fried and parts had a taste and feel of boiled rice. I’d also like to see more egg? The three dishes came to £17 something, which isn’t too bad I guess, the portions were large and of good quality. My criticism of the food is due to my own personal tastes and I recognise that the takeaway was quite busy. I recommend and will be frequenting this establishment. And there’s a pub next door…
