Courtyard is lovely and the pizza was good. However - there is an outside bar where the 2 barmen were not only rude, they massively under poured drinks by freehand. If you're going to free pour - cool! But these guys were just ripping everyone off and people got very upset. Their customer 'service' was why we left and went elsewhere. Really disappointing.

We had our wedding reception at the Anglers and the whole process was really thorough and organised. Jade was really great with any questions we had and requests. We were able to cater the food to our specific tastes and have a brilliant evening in our budget. The food service was prompt and the bartender assigned to us was really helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a cute little riverside venue to host a wedding reception on a budget - this place is a steal.

I recently attended the Opera in the Garden evening and it was very well planned and attended. Everyone had a clear view and the setting was perfect. The beer garden at The Anglers is well suited for performance. We were given a warm welcome, the service was smooth, and staff were very discreet whilst serving during the show. We both enjoyed our meals. Once the temperature cooled, staff brought around hot water bottles for those who wanted. A great experience of live entertainment in a pub setting. I am sure the upcoming Shakespeare in the Garden will be a great success!

Covid has been the making of this pub. Pre-covid this pub was rubbish and avoided at all costs. But a refurbishment and the addition of a huge number of staff (see Covid table service only) has transformed things. Highly recommended for families, dog owners and beer lovers. Huge garden and very paddle friendly - we moored our kayaks on the pontoon, brought our paddles up with us, and had a lovely lunch. Definitely recommend a reservation if you want to sit outside on a nice day. I appreciate the effort they made to accommodate coeliac / celiac disease and provide gluten free options. In addition to the gluten free things listed in the online allergen menu, they were able to make the burger gluten free with a gluten free bun. If you let them know you have an allergy they take extra care - they grilled my burger and corn on a separate allergen grill to prevent cross contamination.

Disappointing having brought family back after a nice experience last year. Most food was generally good but one dish came with stone cold mash, and it wasn't a great deal better on a second effort but as everyone else was finished it did. Our daughter's peas also arrived after a chase, just as she finished her meal. Very a little remorse or apology from the team and the server attempted to clear all plates while the delayed diner was still finished which is a no no.

I have been coming to the Anglers for many years.....last week I ordered a burger & chips with my friend. I asked for vegan cheese. It came and had some weird lumpy stuff in it so I asked what it was. They said they would get the manager, about 15 mins later he came (once food was cold) snd said don't eat as has dairy. He ordered another burger which eventually came after my friend had finished eating & had to leave so I ended up sitting eating my dinner alone. The portion was small for the massive price. I used to rave about their burgers and chips gf buns and vegan cheese. (As I'm dairy intolerant) This was a weird experience and the staff were very slow. No one even apologised for anything, not very professional. I never complain but I do think it's a shame that the prices are so high and the portions so small. I would rather pay to eat in a restaurant for a better service and more value for money. Other than that I love the Anglers for its location and friendly vibe. They welcome dogs and always have bowls and water available for your furry friends. I will not be rushing to dine out there now sadly as I just can't justify the prices. The drinks are expensive too. Will always love the place though....I hope they improve the menu, portions, prices and service.

This review is for the beer garden. We arrived, having reserved 2 tables in advance. Spoke to the staff member managing that area who said no such reservation was made. We went into the garden to find signs indicating 2 booths were indeed booked in our name. The problem was they were filthy and being used by a group of 10 unsupervised children as a play zone. Staff walked by repeatedly as they trashed the booths, collected about 60 plastic beer glasses and 10 dog water dishes, and had great fun chucking the lot everywhere. We fought to reclaim one booth from them, and I sat down to enjoy my first ever £8 pint. In a plastic glass that was not clean. The manager may want to take the odd walk outside!

Lovely location in a beautiful and peaceful spot, with kindly if slightly inexperienced teenage serving staff. Food is on the good side of average, but a little overpriced for the quality and size of portions. I had the vegetarian wellington - lovely crisp pastry around a flavourful filling with interesting textures from the nuts, but slightly marred by the undercooked wedges of butternut squash on the side, and a rather parsimonious quarter of a carrot given as a portion. The vegetarian gravy is good. Had a mini sticky toffee pudding after, the pudding was light and not too sweet but the accompanying squirty cream from a can was a mistake. Some things should stay in the 1980s. They have a good range of ales on tap.

1st time back to the Anglers for 20 yrs. Here, visiting family we opted to go here simply due to a central place to meet. We heard that the food was very good. Having the Roast Beef lunch visually looked impressive with the giant yourkshire puddings on the plate with a decent cut of Beef. Unfortunately, the vegetables and goose fat potatoes let the dish down the coliflower cheese bland along with the root veg. The goose fat potatoes tasted old hard and not crispy. You would expect a decent roast potatoe to be crisp. The gravey also lacked flavour. My saving grace was the horseradish, which most certainly cleared the sinuses. The deserts requre another scoop of ice cream too for the price. The services was good and the environment very plesent. I will be going back as it is a nice location and will always try other dishes from the good selection on the menu. Still a very enjoyable afternoon.

It's got such potential, but it's consistently disappointing. Great location on the river in Teddington, very local to me but it's still one I try to avoid. Every time I've been there I've had a problem. Staff have been rude, we were once asked to move tables mid meal in case someone else might want our table, even though it wasn't reserved and despite the restaurant being almost empty for the duration of our meal. We were moved from a comfortable table to a table next to the only other people there, a large, loud group, and it ruined the meal. Another time I was told off for taking a bottle of ketchup to my table rather than using it at the bar, where there were more than a dozen bottles of ketchup. I was told off for taking 2 blankets when sitting outside. I didn't realise what a terrible customer I am. Can't say I've ever been told off at any other pub. Last visit, staff were fine for the first time ever. But I left feeling hungry after the meal, the portion was so tiny. In the past, it was very slow service, we waited 2 hours for a work lunch one time, this has improved. It always used to be freezing inside the pub, but it was warm last night.

The Anglers is probably England's most inland, coastal pub. It is just below Teddington Lock, so it is at the upper limit of the tidal part of the Thames. It's a smallish pub with a large garden. The restaurant area is of a good size and the bar stocks a decent range of beers. We visited to enjoy an evening of singing by Rogue Opera. The event was held in a well heated marquee in the garden. Rogue put on an excellent evening's entertainment and everyone was enjoying their drinks. The bar staff were both friendly and helpful. They coped well when the audience flooded out to get drinks during the interval. Great evening thanks to the staff and Rogue Opera. We plan to return later in the year to try their food

Booked an indoor table this afternoon. After arriving the duty manner told us to sit outside because indoors is all full and if you want you stay or leave. The on duty manger today (14th Jan @14:00) was so rude to me. He dint respect the customers and he was very disrespectful to me with his language and attitude when I tried asking him for assistance and help. The table offered was even dirty. He fought with me so loudly. He was very loud and aggressive without considering the surrounding. This is not the professional way to treat customers. Being a manager he doesn't deserve the position to be there. Had such a bad experience today only because of him. We left the pub. We never had bad experiences before in this pub.

Seems some of the staff have been "pulled-up" for interacting with customers ! This is a shame, as with a world of competitive pricing between companies you look for a differentiating factor. The frie

Ate at So bar Richmond Not really authentic Spanish paella or white bait. The food had too much salt. And the rice was mushy.
