Stopped here for a drink on a hot spring day. What a stunning place. The location was perfect and the set-up evoked a festival site. Just brilliant!

Booked an outside table for a birthday lunch for two. It was a lovely hot day so that was nice. Despite it being a busy Saturday our food order was taken swiftly and there was no wait at the bar for drinks. There seemed to be plenty of staff around (unlike many pubs/restaurants right now). The menu is mixed, with a good variety of small/large plates and sharers. My boyfriend had a decent cheese burger and I had the grilled prawns with a side of fries. The outside seating areas are lovely with a variety of seating options for different sized parties. A bonus for me was being able to plane spot as Teddington is under one of the Heathrow flight paths!

Lovely pub along the teddington lock with a generous amount of garden space and seats! Went there for lunch and they have a very affordable lunch menu/sandwich menu! The fish was battered and fried nicely and came with lots of dips by default! The fish finger ciabatta was also done really nicely!

We had a very disappointing experience at *The Anglers* in Teddington. We came for dinner and ordered the roast beef, but the meal was a complete letdown: the potatoes were hard and cold, the gravy had a very unpleasant taste, and the quality of the meat was extremely poor — tough, dry, and far from what you'd expect in a proper Sunday roast. The only decent part of the dish was the cauliflower cheese side. When we politely voiced our dissatisfaction while paying, the waitress simply turned her back and walked away mid-conversation, ignoring us entirely. Feeling dismissed, we decided to speak to the manager. Shockingly, his response was even ruder. Instead of being professional or understanding, he told us they had served over 250 customers that day and we were the *only* ones complaining — as if that somehow invalidated our experience. It’s worth noting that we did *not* refuse to pay. We had already paid the bill before making any comments. Our feedback was honest and respectful, yet we were met with sarcasm and arrogance. We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend this place to anyone. Bad food can sometimes happen — but disrespectful treatment of paying customers is completely unacceptable.

Awful service and treatment - mostly the managers who treat women like scum. Went as a party of 18-22 year olds, ordered drinks and sat down - within 10 minutes a male staff member came out and told us to get out as they don’t serve under 21 year olds. This was false as we had all already been served. Despite asking politely we were made to leave without finishing our drinks. He offered us refunds but once inside refused and told everyone to leave. I cannot believe the way we were treated and reckon the staff would not treat a male or mixed group in this way. Will not be coming back - managers need to be reexamined as the bartenders were completely amicable.

Terrible how a pub can serve 18-22 year old girls, check their IDs and allow them to spend their money and kick them out for not being 21. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if you do go please be prepared to be mistreated

Sat down on a table that was reserved for food only, we had a look at the menu and decided not to eat but to order drinks and carry on the evening. A staff member approached and explained that we were “taking the piss” because we hadn’t ordered food and only drinks. I understand that certain tables given the early summer heat are reserved for food which is fair enough but do not expect to be treated with such disrespect when we are still spending money on drinks which are nearly as expensive as the food

Last Friday (04/04/25) I visited The Anglers with friends who are Fuller’s employees from another site, we were shocked and disappointed by the treatment we received at this location. We came in hoping to use their Fuller’s indulgence cards, something they do routinely as part of the company, and were instead refused service entirely after an hour of being there because we were apparently 'taking the piss' using the cards and ultimately kicked out of the pub. This card is a perk for working at Fuller's and can be shared with friend's and family. The manager on duty who refused us, who we believe was named Guillem, was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. As a group of 10, we were planning to put through a large food order and carry on drinking there for the rest of the evening, so the pub missed out on a significant amount of business. We expected at least a baseline level of respect, especially as they are colleagues within the same company, but were met instead with hostility and poor customer service. This experience was both embarrassing and unacceptable.

Came for a meal and drink. It was packed (mothers day, all mothers out with their families no doubt), and we were told "no tables, but you can order a drink in the bar and hope for the best later". We went to the bar, and stood in line for 30 minutes. As it was our turn, the bar staff said "sorry you have to order from the other queue", pointing to the left. Where there were at least 20 people before us trying to get served. Why couldn´t he say that way before? It was said in a very rude way, but I guess it is because he was stressed. I get it. But he clearly saw us waiting. I get it, it was stressful but there was absolutely no structure to the serving. We didn´t want to wait another half hour so we just left. Very annoying experience and I doubt we will be back, at least not when there are loads of people there.

Cold and overcooked eggs, poorly cooked bacon, and staff with an unpleasant attitude. One of the waiters rudely warned us just because our puppy peed in a corner outside near a planter. But the worst part was when we tried to express our concerns—they cut us off mid-sentence with a quick “sorry” and turned their back on us. We invited our friends here thinking it would be a great experience, but instead, we had a terrible morning. It’s truly sad to see a place we’ve enjoyed for years decline like this.

Sadly I have to write this review after the terrible Christmas Dinner that I had this year. We booked our table a few months ago at the Anglers which stated a Christmas feast. Unfortunately it was doomed from the start. Let’s start with the table, there were four of us and we were sat on two of the bar tables that were pushed together and couldn’t fit the glasses on let alone any side plates. There were no more tables available. It was ridiculous but we made do. There was not arrival drinks which I was shock about considering the price. The canapés were stale as they had clearly been the night before but the start was good. Now for the main event, the feast which consisted of 3 potatoes, uncooked Brussels sprouts, 2 parsnips 2 pigs in blankets and some turkey which was inedible. The turkey was so bad my dad had to ask if it was pork. None of us ate it and it all got set back. The meat was grey and dry. Desert was fine and cheese was ok although only had one type of cracker but we were so let down but the dinner. There was no pots of gravy, there were not exciting side dishes. I had a better Sunday roast the previous weekend in another pub for £20. The cost of this was £125 per head plus a book fee and service so before we sat down I paid £565, then we had two bottle of wine and some other drinks which £220 so £785 in total. I am disgusted that I paid this for poor food a terrible table and at this price you expect better. I do have to say the only blessing was the service was amazing. Our waitress was attentive and could see that we were a little frustrated from the start. But she was brilliant as were they others that served our table. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, make it at home or by a microwave meal.

Worst Christmas Lunch Ever! While the turkey was decent, the rest of the meal was shocking—especially for £125 per person. When it turned up, I thought it was a kids meal it was that underwhelming, despite being advertised as "with all the trimmings." you are given raw roast potatoes, hard sprouts, roasted carrot and a parsnip, no yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, or additional vegetables made the experience feel like a bad Sunday roast at best rather than a festive feast. I was gobsmacked they would even serve this to paying guests as a Christmas meal ! Since you pay upfront, it seems like they just don’t care if it ruins your day. I even had to buy my mum lunch afterward because she was still hungry as could not be bothered to eat the "school dinner" they served up. Avoid at all costs if you want to enjoy your Christmas meal!

Came here as a group for a pre Christmas roast having previously thoroughly enjoyed the food. What a disappointment 😞 Our meals were compleatly underwhelming. Roasts arrived with chosen item in gravy on a plate the sides were brought separately. Nut roast was cold, meat was dry. Sides were sparse, we asked for more which was provided, after the "this is is the fullers portion size" talk which seemed well rehearsed, but one cauliflower cheese between five? Vegetables and yorkshires pudds were unseasoned, potatoes were dried out, as if they had been sitting around for a while. Cauliflower cheese was watery, boiled tepid cabbage. Salt, butter and some love would have gone a long way. The venue is not budget £4 for a lemonade and that feels like what we got, aunt Bessie's or something from cook would have been significantly better. I was surprised to see a chef putting their name to the menu, I would be reluctant to serve what we received from a home kitchen. Anglers seem to be coasting on a strong historic culinary reputation, definatly not one of the best roasts in London. Lovely setting, ambiance and good service shame about the food.

We have come here for years, since back in the days in 2009 when this was a lovely little pub. Also in 2023 we've been here multiple times for food and drinks. But I have to say: today's experience was absolutely shocking. Whilst the service was friendly and the atmosphere was great, the food is so far off the standards. It's getting worse and worse unfortunately whereas pricing keep going up! A pint of beer for £9? Okay, it's London... but still. Much worse was actually the food. Look at the photo attached: the price for this "burger" was £18.95. Can you believe this? And much worse than that: it consists only out of 3 ingredients: a cheap white roll, a patty, some penny-worth iceberg lettuce. That's it. Apparently there was cheese on it, but we couldn't find it. No tomato, no sauce, just simply NOTHING. At McDonalds you pay £1 for it and at least get some gherkins, onions, proper cheese. This wasn't even the worst thing: The kids burger cost £8.95, which is probably half-way reasonable. But it was EXACTLY (like literally EXACTLY) the same burger with EXACTLY the same fries. Only difference: the fries where not placed in a copper cup for the kids, but placed on the plate directly. Same amount, same fries, same burger - but £10 cheaper. We asked the waitress and she kindly explained that there was no error, she went through the order again and admitted that she was also struggling to find any difference other than the fries not being put in a copper cup. We were 8 persons and noone of us won't come back. No way. I always loved The Anglers and have spend probably hundreds if not thousand Pounds here every year... It's a shame. If I was Fullers I would try to intervene here, as one of their best horses in the stall is going south and losing customers. Again, look at the photo! Additionally, this burger was so incredibly small. Everyone was left hungry, but with that disappointment we decided not to have pudding and to leave the restaurant. I have NEVER, NOWHERE paid £18.95 for a burger. Maybe I did once, but got like Wagyu beef, molten blue cheese, crispy onions, halloumi and whatnot on my patty.... at The Anglers? ==> Iceberg lettuce. PS: In all fairness: Atmosphere is great, service is great, drinks are great, location is great. But holy crap, what has happened to your food standards?!

Lovely riverside pub to stop at. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. We were given plastic pint glasses (despite everyone around us having glass) which was a shame and the loaded fries were quite expensive given the portion size.

Nice location, staff are friendly and welcoming, but the prices are insane. Was charged £5.50 for a tiny portion of chips, which tasted ok but nothing special.

Courtyard is lovely and the pizza was good. However - there is an outside bar where the 2 barmen were not only rude, they massively under poured drinks by freehand. If you're going to free pour - cool! But these guys were just ripping everyone off and people got very upset. Their customer 'service' was why we left and went elsewhere. Really disappointing.

We had our wedding reception at the Anglers and the whole process was really thorough and organised. Jade was really great with any questions we had and requests. We were able to cater the food to our specific tastes and have a brilliant evening in our budget. The food service was prompt and the bartender assigned to us was really helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a cute little riverside venue to host a wedding reception on a budget - this place is a steal.

I recently attended the Opera in the Garden evening and it was very well planned and attended. Everyone had a clear view and the setting was perfect. The beer garden at The Anglers is well suited for performance. We were given a warm welcome, the service was smooth, and staff were very discreet whilst serving during the show. We both enjoyed our meals. Once the temperature cooled, staff brought around hot water bottles for those who wanted. A great experience of live entertainment in a pub setting. I am sure the upcoming Shakespeare in the Garden will be a great success!

Covid has been the making of this pub. Pre-covid this pub was rubbish and avoided at all costs. But a refurbishment and the addition of a huge number of staff (see Covid table service only) has transformed things. Highly recommended for families, dog owners and beer lovers. Thanks Nick for the awesome service!

Apart from a minor blip with my Sunday Roast which was rectified. This pub is well worth a visit.

Huge garden and very paddle friendly - we moored our kayaks on the pontoon, brought our paddles up with us, and had a lovely lunch. Definitely recommend a reservation if you want to sit outside on a nice day. I appreciate the effort they made to accommodate coeliac / celiac disease and provide gluten free options. In addition to the gluten free things listed in the online allergen menu, they were able to make the burger gluten free with a gluten free bun. If you let them know you have an allergy they take extra care - they grilled my burger and corn on a separate allergen grill to prevent cross contamination.

Disappointing having brought family back after a nice experience last year. Most food was generally good but one dish came with stone cold mash, and it wasn't a great deal better on a second effort but as everyone else was finished it did. Our daughter's peas also arrived after a chase, just as she finished her meal. Very a little remorse or apology from the team and the server attempted to clear all plates while the delayed diner was still finished which is a no no.

Very overpriced for what I received. My friends fish and chips looked good but my main (chicken schnitzel) was disappointing. My cheesecake was a little dish with some dry biscuit crumbs in the bottom and a bit of cheesecake filling piped on top to order. Very disappointing as place looks great and service was good.

Had the Crispy Asian Beef. It wasn’t crispy at all but soft. The Asian salad accompanying it was soggy with carrot ribbons that had browned from being prepared too early. Not pleasant at all. Friendly service but painfully slow.

We had a space booked for our little boy's birthday. The communication with the team beforehand was fantastic, and the space we had (the conservatory) was absolutely perfect for a family gathering. We loved the barbecue food too. Huge huge thanks to Jade and her team for making the day so smooth and easy.

I have never seen such a tiny steak for £28 and almost no avocado in avocado salad. Also we ordered rose sparkling wine and they brought Prosecco. Service is quite slow as well.

Great pub - always had excellent service here and the food has always been good. The menu has options for different dietary requirements. Has a really nice beer garden which backs down to the river and overlooks the weir. The pub supports other local organisations including local charities. A very friendly place to visit!

Ate at So bar Richmond Not really authentic Spanish paella or white bait. The food had too much salt. And the rice was mushy.
