I normally love the polenta cake but the last 3 times the cake has been very dry & dense. I've had to throw out the piece I got today. No idea whether it's because it's the end piece. Also got a smores brownie, given a very small corner piece which is also very dry!!. Not good!!!

The bread selection is wonderful and tastes great, scones are delicious and I love the mini pizza roll for lunch, lots of lovely deli items and other treats in the shop.

Lovely bakery spoiled by the sullen, sour manner of the older member of staff today. A smile would have made all the difference.

Stopped in to have a look while walking in the area. Impressive range of lovely looking quiches and great selection of cakes and pastries. We got a small individual quiche each (one Lorraine and one goats cheese sun dried tomato). Both were really good. Lovely thin crispy pastry with perfectly cooked centre. Also got one of the pizzas rolls which was amazing. Lovely soft dough with really good tomato filling. After sitting on a bench outside in the sun we decided to go back and get some more food to take home! Got another two pizza rolls as well as a s'mores brownie (very good) and a white chocolate and Biscoff blondie (also very good) The girl that served us was very polite and helpful, and the prices of all the food as good as the food quality! Will definitely be back for more food next time we're in the area.

We ate here tonight on the way home from the cinema in Richmond as we wanted something quick. The service was friendly but very slow. The food service was fast but it was the clearing of the table and getting the bill etc that seemed to slow things down. Most of the alcohol free drinks on the menu were unavailable (beer, peroni and sparking wine). Sourdough bread was unavailable so was substituted for ciabatta. 2 slices cut in half with butter was charged at £5.95! The chunky chips were pale and, we felt, undercooked. Overall… friendly service but too slow (especially when only 4 occupied tables in the main restaurant) and the food was disappointing. We won’t be back, sorry.

Eating out with friends . We've eaten many of times here at the Dante since new management. The food has always been fantastic but tonight we had fillet steak and it was amazing! I can honestly say it was the best steak I've had. Perfectly cooked. Very generous portion sizes and great atmosphere. The chef went above and beyond, ordering in the fillet as it is not on the menu. Empty plates all round. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area to call in for a meal.

Cheerful welcome on the evening we arrived in Hawes. Our lad had a full meal and we had two small plates which were very tasty and good value. I had an excellent pint of Wensleydale Gamekeeper. Sat in front of roaring fire.
