Went into this cafè whilst waiting for a bus... thought we would get out of the rain ..and we were glad we did what a surprise we had not been to a cafè where table cloths are on the tables ( very nice touch) menu variable & plenty of choice from breakfast to lunch plus a specials board for that days lunch table service was quick and the children were given what food they liked ... we had the special and for the price the meal was very nice .. we can recommend the angel inn for meals and good service will definitely go back next time we are at the angel islington

Can be described as a “greasy spoon” and if it is described as that, it would be in an endearing way. Lovely service, old fashioned atmosphere and half decent and very inexpensive food. Go for the experience and the nice feeling about the place. It is what this type of cafe should be.

This is an old style cafe with a huge menu choice. Had a cooked breakfast brunch and wasn't disappointed. If you are looking for an excellently cooked fry up with a mug of coffee, in a old style cafe, this is great. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was tremendous vfm. Loved it!

I've been coming here for over 20 years on and off, and it is one of the few traditional British breakfast cafes I know that serve quality food at a good price. No overpriced mass-produced food here, unlike Pret A Manager. Good service, and friendly management, what's not to like!?

Pleasant, down-to-earth, old-style caff in central Angel, providing traditional caff fare as well as some Turkish specialities. Decent, reasonably-priced coffee and snacks, good wifi connection also.

A lick of paint. The new pizzas and some better lagers and the angel has gone up in my estimation. Was actually pretty busy yesterday and I struggled for a table. Food is Wetherspoons but great value.

The Angel Inn is unpretentious and friendly enough. I popped in before going to Sadlers Wells to see a ballet matinee. I had a really good fry, the food arrived very quickly and was very reasonably priced. I would recommend The Angel Inn.

Great place for quick and cheap lunch. Very quick order time even during lunchtime that I've been. Few notices: lahmacun should NOT be presented cut! What's the point? The whole pleasure of eating lahmacun is to wrap it and hold it yourself, not cut and eaten using "knife and fork". And also it should have came with lemon. I have been eating lahmacun since was born, so I know what am I talking. Otherwise - prices are good. Wraps are okey'ish, I asked for mustard and got too much of it inside wrap. And wrap itself just collapses when you eat. Gotta boost your wrapping skills, Angel Inn.P.S. look at the photos below - the menu :)

Some reviews here appear to be about the Angel Inn in Highgate which is a pub. THIS Angel Inn is not a pub; it's a caff. And a very good one it is too. Generous portions, good food (eggs, bacon, beans, mushrooms, toast, etc as well as more exotic fare such as Turkish pizza, spag bol and fish and chips), competitive prices, brisk and polite service, varied clientele. Nothing fancy but perfect for a quick load up.

Good food, some staff nice but let down enormously by an Asian woman. She doesn't speak to you, doesn't smile, throws the food down on the table. She was busy taking orders via the phone and ignored my food under the grill which caused a fire. Her colleague remade my order and then it was thrown down on my table by the Asian woman with a snarl - no "sorry", no "sorry for the delay". Avoid if you want a good experience. But, the food is good.

This well-run eatery is really a traditional 'Caff', despite its being called an Inn. The friendly staff will serve you up the best value all-day-breakfast in London, at £4.95 including tea and toast its an absolute snip! The present management have been running the place for quite a while now, and they know a good product when they see one. The place itself is quirky, with its downstairs WCs (go down there in the early morning, and you have to switch the lights on yourself) and has a certain charm that the local posh eateries simply do not have. the Angel has its clientele or regulars - usually a sign of a good eatery - and although not far from trendy Islington Green, it is off of the tourist map as the exterior looks rather unprepossessing. But go inside, and you are in for a tasty treat that won't break the bank.

At this price point, it IS the BEST of it's type we experienced.ANGEL INN located cross from Angel Tube, steps from posh eateries on Upper Street serves up quality and value to local punters. Set breakfast @ 4.95 is outstanding. We opted for the vegetarian version of a fry up: 2 poached eggs, bubble&squeak, mushrooms, tomato, beans, toast & the BEST ( we agreed on this) builder's tea we have EVER been served. EVER. BIG serving. HOT. STRONG. TASTY. My companions toasted sammy was generous and tasty. her coffee was every bit as good as offerings out there costing double. Service is super friendly and genuine. 5 circles all the way.

Have been to the Angel Inn many times and enjoyed it in the past. Service could be quicker but the food is well presented, good portions and hot. The tea can be quite milky so do tell them if you want them to "leave the bag in" for a stronger cup. I last visited yesterday and was dismayed when my friends order went to different table, the guy started to tuck in before he realised it was the wrong set menu. So....they took his actual order...the one he didn't start...back to the kitchen and I then observed them removing some parts of it - including scraping off the baked beans to turn it into my friends order. She hates baked beans - so having the residue on the plate, tucked under the fried egg wasn't nice.....shame on you Angel Inn :(

Out I went, for a thoroughly intense knees-up with Janto, Chunger and Big Mervyn. After drowning our sorrows with Big Merv’s inheritance from his deid Mam, and ingesting some lighter fluid avec workerman’s glue, we headed to The Joker for a knees up. First in, Chunger got in the pints which were all exceedingly tasty and helped wash down the acrid tang of glue at the back of my throat. It was only after Janto repeatedly and brazenly kept impersonating a couple on a date next to us, by doing the young man’s lovely, soft posh accent that things really got funny. ‘WHAT IS SO FUNNY?’ He boomed. ‘Please let’s just leave, these men are savages and I think they’re on something, they’re out of their heads!’ said his date. We laughed some more and Merv said, too right, we’re out of our heads on good times, and also a heavy dose of my deid Ma’s dosh. ‘You sick freaks’ intoned the gent. ‘You think you’re so funny!’ It was then that Chunger stood up and roared with the strength of a hurricane into his own pint glass - ‘I AM TRYING TO HAVE A LAUGH. MY FATHER WAS NOT VERY NICE TO ME’ We fell about the floor laughing and ordering more pints which flowed as fast as the beautiful currents of the Arno. Things became decidedly ugly when I took a gulp of the young gent’s gravy which was on his plate, but Big Mervyn settled accounts by leaning on the man’s shoulder and whispering a few sweet nothings. Overall, I had a cracking night and the craic was 90 as we Ho Ho Ho’d all the way home with the young couple’s umbrella which they very kindly gave to us, as well as £50, which was very generous.
