What a lovely place! Foods good, staff are great and dog friendly too. Only one slight gripe is that the beer garden, and play area, have access to the carpark. A gate would be a good idea.

My family and I are regulars at the pub. We love the Food, atmosphere and service at the Angel. We’ve tried quite a lot on their menu and it’s got a lot of options, even for some of us who are vegetarian/pescatarian. We were recently served By Ellie who was wonderful at taking orders, she was very helpful and polite. In all honesty, this is a more expensive pub to dine in, but with the daily deals, such as children eat free (with adult meal) it makes a difference. And it’s definitely worth it all for a lovely meal. We will continue to come to eat here.

We had a fantastic experience at the Angel Inn Pub. The food was absolutely delicious, with every meal being a real treat. The server had a great sense of humour, making the visit even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would happily return for another meal.

Went here Christmas day for dinner. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was cheerful. Prehaps a bit too long between meals but otherwise a lovely experience.

Family meal get together prior to Christmas We ordered two beef and one turkey roasts, Service was good considering how busy they were Drinks were and starters were brought out promptly and were very good, after a slight delay the mains were served sadly the beef was tough maybe the knives were a little blunt but even after requesting steak knives it was just not good, the flavour of all meals was supperb with large well cooked Yorkshire puds and crisp roast potatoes, good seasonal veg and flavoursome gravy Our server Carlie was attentive and very helpful We will be visiting again

Third time to visit this cosy, inviting restaurant. Once for lunch. They accommodated a walk in and food was served fairly quick. Staff were a little flustered due to a busy lunch setting but handled well. Would like to try one of the offer evening In the week.

The best local put, every time I visit, all staff are highly trained on allergies/intolerance, feel safe to eat there. Also food is amazing, never been disappointed. Highly recommend

Another mediocre meal, Sunday roast served on lukewarm plates, with slices of stringy and chewy beef, over cooked roast potatoes and nondescript Yorkshire. Waffles were cold. Meal Overpriced, Horns in at Parley offers better value and quicker service. No price on desert table menus.

The food & service was excellent we’ve been coming for many years & still enjoy the experience.

To celebrate a good nights work, my wife, took me to lunch. We enjoy the Angel hugely always have. Food was excellent I had a steak ciabatta and the wife had pulled pork. Drink was amazing, I had a Guinness substitute which was great and the wife had a little whine. The whole interlude was about an hour and a half. It had the edge taken off it by a group of four, two men and two women who felt we might regard them as being more authentic millennials, if they exhibited their skill in swearing. Shame it was otherwise a great time!

Great Christmas atmosphere and hospitality

Very busy lunch service, nice atmosphere, reasonably tasty food and good service. Our server was called Anna, who was very attentive. I was only sorry that the place was cold, the radiator near our table of 11 was stone cold yesterday, when the weather had been quite cold. Happy to go to the Angel again soon.

Nice pubby atmosphere seating a bit rickety, but I guess that's for the effect. Pleasant staff, large outside garden, overall very nice.

We booked a Christmas celebration meal for 26 people, the food was great, and the service excellent. It all went very smoothly and everyone went away happy.

Thank you so much for a wonderfully enjoyable family meal today, 5 star in everything! (there were 5 adults and 1 child - we booked a table same day). The food (as per our last visit) was so good and we enjoyed every bite! Please don't ever get rid of the chicken schnitzel with the garlic butter - it was lush! It was a very busy Saturday and there was a very large table seated just down from us - the staff worked so hard and were rushed off their feet but they all remained so friendly and welcoming! There was a bit of a longer wait than usual for the food but this was expected as it is a lovely popular pub on a Saturday. We were happy just chatting and having drinks. One server stood out for us and that was Ellie :) She looked after us so well and couldn't do enough for us! Every meal out with my family is so very special - thank you for being part of it with us :)

Very disappointed with my meal today. I went for fish and chips,there was more batter than fish snd as I have a dairy intolerance I left the batter so there wasn't much left for me. Very little meal choice if you have a dairy intolerance.

We went there for a Sunday lunch while celebrating a birthday. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Lisa our server was very good, as were her colleagues. Drinks and food came very quickly. Reasonably priced for what we had. My only criticism would be, that I felt the tables we a little too close, however we had an enjoyable experience, thank you.

A cosy pub with lots of well-positioned tables. We were given a lovely warm welcome, the choice of food was good, each of us having something different & enjoying all.

Better than our last visit and service has definitely improved. Jess was an excellent ambassador for the pub. Roasts were good, both beef and Pork with good vegetables. Only improvement would be to ensure the gravy, sauces and custard are hot....not warm.

Update to a previous weekday evening visit, similarly impressed following a really good Sunday roast for a group of 10, pre booked and all went smoothly, great service despite being very busy. Attractive spacious place of varied zones, modern but with a rustic feel. Ate an evening meal from a varied menu, being a wednesday all burgers had the attraction of a huge discount, listed at say £17 costing less than a tenner, which was tasty. My companions cannelloni also good. There seems to be a Monday deal for something else too. Attentive staff, efficient service.

Daisy was our server today for lunch. She was lovely and took extra care of us as one person has an egg allergy. We felt completely at ease with her. The food was great, good portions and extremely tasty. It was lovely that we could bring our small Shih Tzu too. Many thanks to Daisy and the other staff too.

The last time we went here was about 4 years ago and we walked out because of rude staff and a no care attitude. But...our friends wanted to come last night and gosh !..are we glad we did ! What a complete difference. The staff were lovely, food very good. We'll definitely be coming to The Angel again. We'll try the Sunday roast soon

Good as always in Hall and Woodhouse pub is excellent and great value for money. Service from George was really good! Attentive and always seemed to be around for any requests! Helpful when the servers have a good personality! Would highly recommend!

The company for the meal was amazing, and I enjoyed the evening but the fish pie was a little lacking in fish and was mostly diced potato. The sauce with the pie tasted good and the salad was fresh but only consisted of rocket, 2 slices of cucumber and a couple of cherry tomatoes.

When your sat in the bar on a Wednesday evening with 9 other people are in the and 6 are at the bar waiting........a phone call finally brings someone out to seve you! Get a grip!

Friendly and relaxed, was good to see a large table of diners enjoying a Birthday celebration. Sunday lunch was delicious, nothing too much trouble. Our waitress was amazing and all the team were clearly keen to provide excellent service. Will be back.

Food was very average, one pudding in the order was completely forgotten and never materialised, we couldn't find any waiting staff to speak to about it . There was no apology about it and we had to ask for it to be taken off the bill!

service was great staff were friendly and the outside area where we sat was clean and quiet on early Friday afternoon, sadly that's where the good stuff ends, firstly the pate starter where you are served a huge hunk of pate with two small pieces of toast for £6 not great, wouldn't be so bad if it was nice pate but sadly it wasn't and more resembled dog food and impossible to use on just two slices of toast so over half of it wasted which actually ended up being not a bad thing, the hotdog i ordered looked and tasted like it had been reincarnated from some very distant time and no amount of soggy onions and inventive use of mustard and ketchup could hide its shrivelled sorry looking self it tasted worse than it looked which was quite an accomplishment by itself, the chips were overcooked and more like walkers frenchfries and also arrived late, the steak my partner ordered had a strange taste to it like old oil. dirty pan kind of taste , couldn't quite put our finger on it but it wasn't pleasant nor was the lifeless tomato floating around on the plate of oil, the mushroom was great tho as was the beer, real shame as it's a great looking place, will return for a drink perhaps but will give the food a definite miss.

Gluten free option very minimal. Had a prawn cocktail which was really not nice. The sauce was quite bizarre. Gluten free roll given. Not worth the money

Quite disappointed. We have visited several times and always good. Not this evening. Sophie, our waitress, was excellent but it was impossible for her to keep up with the orders. Several shrieking babies and running around children - which I know is just as difficult for the staff. We had to wait a long time for our drinks. Starters were fine. My fish pie was tasty but over microwaved with a crust round the edge. No sauces on offer for potentially drier meals ( chicken snitzel) The chilli meal was very nice. Ordered mini puds and coffee. The coffees came, and were finished before the pud arrived - it was nice. Felt the staff were rushed so service very slow, some of the food was below par and the pub was very child noisy. Will try again sometime because previously always been good - but not for a while. 6th September We went again last night and a totally different experience. Service excellent and just the right speed, all the food was very good and a much nicer atmosphere. Would certainly recommend - it was The Angel we know! Thank you to all the staff for a lovely relaxing evening.

Food was fine and staff were nice, just insanely slow to get food out and did not seem overly busy. Nobody came and asked if we needed more drinks etc, just basics really. When we did speak to staff they were all very nice just could be more pro active

Stopped here for some lunch, and found the prawn cocktail to have a funny taste, and bread bland with rock solid butter. The beer garden was unkept and had several uncleared tables. Disappointed...

Overcharged us by £43.50 on the bill which we were advised would take 3-5 business days to refund. Was then informed that we would have to pay once again. When discussing the determent and inconvenience of this mistake I was rudely spoken over and blatantly ignored. I can’t remember the lady’s name who dealt with it however she had red curly hair. She was abrupt and dismissive throughout. We came to the pub yesterday and heard being rude to another member of staff. Considering we are regular customers who come to this pub on a weekly basis, I would have expected to have been treated with a bit more decency.

We've been searching for a pub like the angel for so long. Great service. Such happy staff! Play area! Dog friendly! Treats and water bowls on display. I haven't had such a lovely relaxing Sunday afternoon in a very long time. I can't believe it wasn't packed out! Wish we'd found it sooner.

The Angel continues to be one of our favourite places, though we have not visited for some time. We ate in the beer garden on a beautiful summer’s afternoon. Service was excellent (thank you Scott) and the food was delicious. The menu is varied and great value. We look forward to returning soon.

Stopped off for a quick lunch, the chicken and bacon pie was very nice.

Definitely not the standard it used to be and for a Saturday lunchtime it was not very busy. We sat in the beer garden as we had dogs with us but it was scruffy and needed a good clean, there are no exuses for dirty tables, cigarette buts on the floor and dirty/damp chair cushions. To be fair the food was ok, nothing special but won't be rushing back.

Atmosphere: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Price: 3/5 Made a stop @ the Angel Inn today to grab a quick pint and a snack before heading out of the area, I have to say I’m really happy I did! Initially I saw the prices of the food and weighed up whether I wait until I get home to eat, however, I took a chance and ordered the Pork Meatballs in Tomato Sauce. It was delicious! Meatballs were super tender and the sauce was wonderfully spiced! The lager was cold and crisp! Proper traditional Inn with a lovely vibe and friendly staff! All I can say is you’re paying for the great food at a great location!

Visited the Angel on Sunday evening for a meal. Selected Sunday Roast Beef and drinks. Served by a very personable young man called Connor. Came to pay and thought that I had not paid enough for our order. Connor then explained that Sunday Roast in evening was £9.95 instead of full price. Result. Connor was very chatty whilst getting on with his job. He treated everyone with respect and is an asset to the Angel. We had a conversation about a previous Sunday Roast we had at another location. I had given a very bad review on that one which he said he would try and find later. As for the Angel Roast, it was excellent and just the right size for what we wanted and at the reduced price. Thought the quality may be poorer as it was cheaper in the evening but it was excellent and will have to call another Sunday evening with that price and excellent quality. Please thank Connor for his excellent service and personality.
