Fantastic place to meet up like bike night

Friendly staff, excellent food. I had the most Steak packed, Steak and Ale pie ever. Well worth the visit.

Unfortunately the worst pub I’ve ever been to. Service was okay, however not much positive could be said about the food and value for money.

Great Sunday Roast. We all had the roast, one beef, one pork and two veg roasts. All cooked to perfection, with tasty roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. The veg were especially good, including a great tasting Cauliflower Cheese. We have been a few times before and will definitely go again in a few weeks

A very disappointing visit this time sadly :( We Ordered fish and chips at £15.95 and received the smallest piece of fish that I have ever been served since school dinners over 30 years ago. I discussed it with the manager and was told that "we can only serve what our suppliers send us". I indicated that I had previously ordered fish and chips here and received a generous portion and that supplychain management was really their responsibility. I received a sarcastic comment "that they couldn't control how much the fish in the sea eat." no apparent acknowledgement for my concern and they seemed to have missed the point of receiving value for money ... I was offered an alternative meal but everyone else was eating already so I just put up with it 😞 I will leave the previous 4/5 star comments below for comparison; Very good service from the staff. Enjoyed the roast Sunday dinner. The meat (beef) was tasty and soft. Potatoes good , nice gravy , the veg was a little undercooked ( and I like undercooked) , nice beer , altogether a great visit. It was mid week in October but service could not be faulted and food was excellent

I attended a Bike Night even tho it was very busy and was served quickly The food was quick and very nice I had a burger and chips. Recommend

Another great meal at the Churchill Arms. We have been eating here for many years when on holiday in the area, and the food and service never disappoints. The food is always delicious and well presented. The team at the Churchill Arms are a great bunch and they look after their customers. I look forward to my next visit. 😊

All of the classics are available and they're made very well. We were both very pleased with our choices. My steak and ale pie was full of meat & the gravy was like none I'd ever tasted before. Perfect 😊. The Churchill Arms is a place we will definitely go back to whenever we're in the area. Well worth a visit.

Staff on shift were warm, friendly & attentive made our visit all the more enjoyable. Visited here for our evening meal and a few drinks.

I would say the quiche was really badly presented which was a shame . Wasn't sure if dad and my partner had thought the same but they did so I would have mentioned it at the time . Possibly best to have meals off the menu rather than the specials board . For nearly £16 each . Plus asked for salad instead of the chips but we didn't have extra just the normal amount .

Pleasant pub with decent home cooked food. It’s a bit overpriced for what it is, when the main meals average £15 a head average chips like you can buy in the frozen section of the supermarket are a disappointment. Some good beers on tap but not cheap! The atmosphere was a bit flat and the tables are squeezed in the section we were in. The pub quiz was being set up so might of it might of been the reason for the lack of atmosphere

Went out to meet friends at the Churchill arms. We ordered drinks and a portion of chips. The barmaids attitude was disgraceful, no atmosphere, no cheerful welcome. It was almost as if we were an inconvenience to them for being there

The Beer Battered Cod had soggy batter so I returned the dish. When I asked the bar staff if she thought it was acceptable she said "I like soggy batter". That says all you want to know about the food and the staff. The cherry tart and ice-cream desert had once again soggy and chewy tart with ice-cream that was already melting around the plate. I'm no foody but I would suggest you avoid this place like the plague.

Lovely pub. Food is nice, fresh and the homemade pies are exceptional. Good selection of ales and family friendly.

Just popped in for a quick drink and was only ones there (was about 16:00 on a thursday) but bar tender made us feel welcomed and had a laugh. Wis I could have stayed longer.

Disappointing burger. Just meat and a bun. Uninspiring salad and chips accompaniment. Don't think I've ever been served a burger like this. Usually come with relish, burger sauce, onion, salad in the bun etc.

A very quiet pub for Saturday evening, hence no atmosphere, but staff were very pleasant. I ordered the Home made burger, this came with chunky chips, coleslaw, 1 small wedge of tomato and very sorry looking lettuce collection. I ordered cheese as an extra, but when the burger came it was 2 patties and the cheese and nothing else, because of this, it was then a very dry tasteless burger. I did finish the burger as I hungry and couldn't bear wasting what I felt was an overpriced unexpiring burger for £16.20

Beer and service is fine. Have had 3 meals here and wouldn't recommend it...'homemade fresh lasagna' that was clearly a few days old and microwaved or similar to warm up, aburger another trip that was literally just a bap and burger with no salad / pickle / anything..very odd, tastless and dry. Final chance I tried the chips cone...poor quantity. Sorry to be negative but this is my honest opinion and you do state its fresh etc and charge a fair amount for this.

Just moved into the area and The Churchill Arms is just down the road so we have decided to use it as our local. Decent menu, tried most items, ranging from the All Day Breakfast, Roast dinner, Burger, Scampi and Pies. It’s not a gastro pub so don’t expect Froie Gras, with budgie Bon bons with a lime foam! Just good quality food at reasonable prices. The bar staff are very friendly and extremely welcoming, great service all round. This appears to be a great community based pub which is exactly what we need to protect. We’ll continue to use this as our local and recommend anyone to visit.

I had the burger and can agree with previous comments. Only 2 dry burgers in a bun, although I did pay extra for spoe cheese.This meal came with chips, coleslaw 1small chunck of tomato and some dying lettuce. Would not recommend for £16.20.

Visited for the first time today whilst staying in the area. We had the Sunday Roast (Pork) it's was delicious the pork , vegetables,Yorkshire puds and roast potatoes were cooked to perfection and the cheesy cauliflower gorgeous. From the booking online to the warm welcome for myself hubby and rescue Labrador Honey we cannot fault at all. Well with a visit. Thank you to the Lady in Pink biker hoodie who looked after us. See you again soon.

Down for a wedding and popped in here for dinner. The food and portions were excellent they have great choice of Drinks (thatchers) the staff were very friendly and the pub is nicely set out. Only down point was people's kids running around but not the pubs fault. Would recommend

We had a table for 6 and unfortunately 4 of the 6 meals were really poor. 2 of us had burgers which were so over cooked and dry and the chips were re-heated and Luke warm. The other 2 poor ones were a very dry meat pie although it was well filled with beef and a stroganoff where the rice was totally overcooked and not very hot at all. Such a shame really as the staff were very nice and the pub is dog friendly. I'm a chef in a pub myself and definitely would not have sent those 4 meals.

This was a quick lunch stop off, Positives Lovely space for both inside and outside Staff friendly Breakfast bun was nice but warm not hot and expensive for size Toilets lovely and clean Negatives Bloody expensive Paid extra for a slice.of cheese £1.25 for kids meal and adults!! Then they forgot to put cheese in and they didn't even both to melt the cheese Burger was horrible and dry Chips were warm considering it wasn't busy this not acceptable So overall was ok pub not sure if go back and why have they only got a slide for kids? Garden is big enough for swings They need to soften the bottom of slide as well with kids rubber as two kids ended up crying by dropping off the bottom of slide to hard. Could be a great family pub with few improvements

The interior design of this venue is very striking, with a refurbed but somehow historic looking interior. The menu is comprehensive and further enhanced by a varying and original specials board. There are also various theme nights, and we were particularly impressed with an Asian cuisine night some weeks ago. I suppose in the last 18 months or so we’ve eaten here on about six occasions. Invariably the food is good, hot, and well presented. The staff are particularly commended - friendly, quick and very competent. Highly recommended.

Happy with your service. Although onion rings were dry. Happy they delt with an incident that wasn't very pleasant to see or hear. Many thanks as I had a pieceful side snack.

Lovely pub and friendly staff but the food was very disappointing. Of our group of four, two had the fish and chips. Lots and lots of batter and very little fish. I don’t think either of us had ever had such a poor offering. Another of our party had one of the ‘specials’, Faggots. These were tasteless and the texture very unappetising. Our fourth party member had the Stroganoff and that was fine. But to have three meals out of four to be so disappointing means that it’s unlikely we’ll revisit.

Out for a lovely roast dinner today. Couldn't fault it. Red hot plates and friendly staff. Didn't have room for pudding.

A great pub with a brilliant selection of beers, food and snacks. Friendly staff and a well laid out interior.

We have been guilty of passing this place on numerous occasions and yesterday we thought let's go in........and I can tell you right now we will definitely be going back!!! For a start it's got a good car park and you are instantly made to feel welcome as you enter the building. Whether you want a coffee ☕ or a beer 🍺 a breakfast or a meal they have a good menu and a brilliant specials board!! There is something for everyone and they offer a good value for money. Vegetarian options and all day breakfasts. The place is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. To add to all of this they are dog friendly ☺️. They do have special evenings and events and I urge you to check out their Facebook page and web site. With outside seating areas for the summer months and cosy warmth for the winter months you can always be comfortable and enjoy. Brilliant customer service and good value for money 👍🏻.

This a lovely pub with really friendly polite staff. Sadly the food is a let down due to it's quality vs cost. Also unfortunately I also got an upset tummy after eating here, which was not good. We will return for a drink but not food again.

I call in once or twice a month to eat. I find the staff extremely friendly and helpful and the food and the service are excellent!! I would highly recommend the Churchill arms

Excellent, roomy pub with friendly staff and good food. Bike night is every Tuesday and continues throughout the year. Obviously the weather influences numbers. Can't really comment on atmosphere. It's busy when it's Tuesday bike night but I don't often go there on other days. For an idea of prices - a bacon bap is currently £4.50 on bike night.

Great pub. Lovely landlady. Friendly, with a great knowledge of her stock. We had a great night and she let us sleep over in our campervan.

It was a special motorbike day for charity. The pub did an excellent job. Well done.

Visited the Churchill with family for dinner and we had two Lamb curries and two fish and chips which was good. Staff were polite and attentive. The barmaid even severed our second round of drinks at the table as we were still eating.

Found the food and drink to be extremely over priced, with the food very poor quality. Quite possibly the worst pub in the area, and found one of the staff to be very rude making it quite clear they didn’t want our custom as the bikes would be in later that night and that was their focus.

Camping locally. Excellent food, probably the best gammon I’ve had in a pub with really generous portions. Top quality beer. Really great service and super friendly staff.

We ate here twice during our brief stay in the area, and both times were very happy. There's a nice garden area, and it's dog-friendly. It seems to be more of an eatery than a traditional pub, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Great service, and decent food at reasonable prices. Recommended.

Just had a Sunday lunch which was excellent. Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding very good. Veg a little overcooked for our liking but very tasty. Managed to share a pudding which was enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend

I’m a regular user of the Churchill arms and most Sundays my family and I go on for a Sunday Roast, The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful!! I would highly recommend this establishment

Sadly a very rare child free Friday evening was definitely spoilt for us. There was a very sharp piece of plastic in my husbands chilli. When we complained the attitude from the manager was just so poor. We mentioned that apart from the plastic the food just was not great. She responded saying that I should have raised that sooner. I found the attitude really poor. All she needed to do at that point was apologise for the fact that there was plastic in the food which could've cut my husband's mouth, instead of trying to shift it all on us. I actually don't know how pubs like this keep running 🤦🏻‍♀️

Visited yesterday evening with my sister & cousin & my sister & I both ordered the beef lasagne. How the kitchen staff could send out such dry rubbish is beyond me! I fed mine to my dogs & my sister left half of hers. We did tell the server to mention it to the kitchen but we refused the offer of anything else, definitely won’t bother eating there again.

Went for bike night, nice atmosphere, nice bikes, burger was a bit disappointing but I suppose they have lots of mouths to feed. Probably better food when it's not bike night. Will visit again

I visited the other day with my husband. It was a lovely day and I fancied a prosecco. He came back with a pint of cider and a small bottle of prosecco and was astonished at the price! £17.45. I was equally as shocked. Anyway I went to look at the price list on the wall, a small bottle of prosecco, 200ml, over £12. I'm sorry but I would expect this somewhere in central London but not a country pub. Ridiculous.

what a lovely country pub, came here for a saturday evening away and it hasn't disappointed if at all. Fabulous place, lovely staff, big beer garden for us and our dogs great beer and ale selection, the staff were so kind, we will be back definately 😊

Went for lunch on Friday, service was quick and friendly. Great value for money.

Live locally and met with friends for drinks, which escalated into having a meal. We have been disappointed in the past with the food here and hoped it had improved. Sadly not. One meal was the beef burger, which consisted of two small, cheap burgers, both overcooked and dry in a dry bun. The other, a meal from the 'specials' board, which was flavourless and a mean portion of chips. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice pub with friendly, helpful staff and nice atmosphere but the food is very mediocre. We have eaten here only a handful of times and have been repeatedly disappointed. Good pub shame about the food.
