The Angel Hotel - JD Wetherspoon in Scarborough

Very beautiful amazing good lovely food and the puddings are so fabulous and very fantastic 😀

The hotel you can not beat for the cost and location. It is are go to hotel for Whitby. The staff in the hotel and very friendly and helpful. Re the pub it's self, we found this time that the staff where extremely rude with zero manners and going by our experience this week I would say avoid the place but the hotel I can't fault for the money.

As with all witherspoon pubs busy good food and drink highly recommended 👌

Standard spoons. Nice staff, but unfortunately, it seemed understaffed on Saturday night.

Just a typical spoons. With rooms. can't rate them as we didn't stay here. Just your average ping ding food and your average drinks. No complaints.

Absolute steal for food & drinks! 2 x double spirits with mixer for less than £10 is always a winner in my book. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Food choice is plenty with great portions for a very reasonable price. Overall a great stop for a few drinks and pub lunch with friends & family! It will always be a stop off for us when visiting Whitby :)

It was so busy. I understand it was goth weekend. It would be a better experience if you could get signal or WiFi to be able to use table order service. One of us was queuing at the bar while the other was trying to order online. It was a quiz as to who managed first. Still the best prices though

Busiest weekend of the tear .. whitby Goth and the management decided to have only one member of staff on the bar , poor guy was run ragged ,loads of other staff around but completing online table orders . 25 minutes to queue for a drink ,

New wetherspoons to myself. Popped in for one quick drink about 17:00 on a Saturday and I've never seen so much bouncer action, people were getting chucked out left, right and centre. Still good value..

Justvhad food and drink very nice but can get busy

Ideal for a cheap food and drinks. However the service took longer than expected and the drinks not so nice this time round.

Stayed 3 nights. Good location for railway station, very friendly staff. Clean room, well maintained, plainly decorated. Think Premier Inn, but including bottled water, biscuits and hot chocolate sachet on the hospitality tray. Didn’t eat in as I’m not that desperate for microwaved food.

Recently stayed here for a couple of nights for the wife’s birthday,very comfortable and clean staff are very pleasant.Food and drink good prices,plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.Will definitely return for another stay

Great place to sit and enjoy a drink at reasonable prices while sat watching the harbour and people go by. Toilets were spotless and for women NOT up or down a thousand steps! Big bonus

Popped in for late lunch after a day trip, with daughter & granddaughter, food was delivered really quickly , granddaughter's sausages were a little over cooked , I had small fish & chips & mushy peas the peas weren't very hot , my daughter had a burger which was fine, We asked for some tomato ketchup which we never arrived & didn't get an explanation as to why. No one came to ask if everything was ok with our meals , which is probably just aswell. Probably wouldn't return again for food.

Had a lovely overnight stay with a friend...room was spotless..bed was very comfortable..but I'm afraid the breakfast we paid for was terrible....cold... overcooked hash browns.. fatty bacon...wish we'd sent it back and requested refund..as we seen other people do later on.....

Cheap as chips and decent food, beer is cheap but I had 2 different ales that weren't brilliant, nothing really to complain about.

Good hotel room's. Bar service was okay but beers were very similar and blonde. The only amber beer was on when we arrived on Monday and wasn't good and it was still on when we left on Thursday. Let's get round to the food, breakfast on Tuesday was served cold and a full English cold is not very good, we complained but it fell on deaf ears. Wednesday it was just aired and again nothing was done, Thursday went out for breakfast, we didn't want the hassle of trying to complain. Tuesday night was very busy and noisy caused by a gang of young girls who looked as though they were trying to drink the bar dry in record time, nine shots each in 5 minutes!!!!

Very poor experience over two evenings. Very busy pub that was simply understaffed. Had to wait an hour for food and even then had to ask for it a second time before it turned up. Surprised by how over-stretched the staff were given that most Wetherspoon pubs are well staffed.

What can I say it's a Wetherspoons pub. You know what you're going to get, value for money beer and cheap food. Which is fine occasionally.

Angel Inn is a Wetherspoons pub so the beers are cheap and the food half decent. It also hires rooms for the night about £36 thinking of trying them out next time I come to Whitby. Decent place, Sadly for those that come by car? No parking as it's on the main part of Whitby dock, no room for one, but there is paid parking near by. Nice pub, next to the train station and bus depot. First pub you'll see, besides the George.

Arrived quite late to Whitby and many places were closed for food. Luckliy Food was served until 11pm. Lovely Staff, very helpful.

Traditional Wetherspoons fare, real ales slightly pricier than other venues in the same chain but tasty and a good selection and variety, all the same!

One of the better spoons, great location

We always enjoy the value in Wetherspoons and this is one of our favourites because it's in one of our favourite places to visit. Love snacking on some wings while we're having a few drinks.

Decent food needs a bit of tidying up better chairs

Ordered on the app. Breakfast: after drinks were delivered and told no bean (why not take it off the menu or go across the road to the co-op and buy some) offered us something in place of it which was fine , thank you. Breakfast came and it was Luke warm at best. The fact the butter was spread on the toast straight away, but never melted kinda underlines this point. Don't expect a hot breakfast! And no, it wasn't busy at the time of ordering, half empty at 11:00am

The Angel is a large Wetherspoon's hotel in a prime location by the harbour. The seating area is on two floors, the upstairs at the front, being particularly popular as it offers great views over the Harbour. There is always a good selection of real ales on hand pumps and all the usual Wetherspoons beers and cocktails. Food and drink are excellent it's always packed out. It is probably the best value pub in Whitby. Especially crowded in the summer and during the whitby goth festivals in april and October. You often have to queue to get in. Top tip if you are planning on staying in the hotel Goth festival weekend book a long time ahead.

Good pub. Clean, efficient staff, standard Wetherspoons pub food. Didn't stay here as a guest so can't comment on rooms.

Got to be one of the busiest pubs in Whitby. Hard enough to get a table inside or outside.

Not the best place we've visited. Spoons is busy. Clean enough but no atmosphere and not greatest choice of beers. Breakfast was usual spoons. Ok for what it is.

Firstly, a great location right at the side of the quay. We have stayed in several rooms now, from a large quayside room to smaller rear rooms, and they are all extremely well decorated and furnished, with very comfy beds. Great value, especially if you go off-season. Another great thing is you can just go downstairs and have a great value breakfast in the Wetherspoon pub.

Always like a pint here, upstairs near the windows for the views of the harbour or in the two high back chairs near the fire. Selection is great and prices are OK.

We went for the steak "special" the food has gone down in spoons, the bbq chicken melt was rubbery, the mixed grill the meat wasn't the best quality, scraggy bits of meat.

Good food and a great selection of drinks but need more staff serving at the bar, this is a new review went in on Tuesday 19th of March in the evening for a drink I payed by card and for some reason I was charged £6.15 😡but I did know till I check my bank today after I had travel home and found out what had happened which was too late then, so when I go to a pub and anywhere now I want a receipt or pay cash.

Rooms are ok, beds are very budget though poor mattresses but otherwise ok good location right next to the harbour.

Spent my 65th Birthday lunch here with my wife daughter and her freind. On Sunday 3rd of March I ordered char grilled chicken with chips and peas. Expecting white chunky chared pieces of chicken in a lemon sauce. I got a gray slimey piece of chicken wet and under cooked as if it had been boiled it looked like slop i refused to eat it and showed the waiter what char grilled chicken looks like. I then ordered fish and chips and got a thin frozen strip of fish. A few chips and peas for £10.95. Wow My daughter had pasta slop. Her freind chilli. With dried out rice. My mrs over cooked scampi. £40. Wow what a bargain. Ive eat some rubbish but this has to be the worst food ever. I dont know who is making this slop but he needs a change of career.
