Great location,bars a little busy, lovely room, parking not too far away

Went in purely by chance. Ended up being in their spring beer festival. Beers were good , but unfortunately all over 4 .5 percent. No session beers. They have a habit of letting people queue from the door. Firstly this blocks the exit. Secondly alot of people haven't got a clue where they are in the queue as some people go straight to the bar. And finally you don't know what beers are on the handpumps as you can't see them. This is an on going issue that they have never sorted out over a number of years.

Had good refillable drinks and sat outside recovering from walking miles around Whitby. Nice setting and great outdoor space with see through window shielding panels Goid price in a good location

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Service was spot on. Location was as good as you could get it. Having the two bars one for residents and one for the general public was spot on. Think they could do with a few more staff on. On week days we had to go to the main bar later on. In all a very enjoyable stay thank you.

Probably the best place to eat in all of Whitby if you don't want a chip shop. Never had a bad meal here and really liked it

Wetherspoons is good quality at a good price

It serves it purpose, somewhere to sleep. Rooms are showing age and not the best cleaning standards but location is perfect.

It's a good place to go for a nice meal and drink and the staff are friendly

Always busy, great food, good atmosphere. Situated right by the harbour. Has disabled toilets and a big seating area upstairs.

6 of us visited for breakfast, we all enjoyed our fare. There is a good all-around choice off the menu. And quickly served.

Called for a breakfast and it was cold very disapointing

Stayed here for a couple of nights midweek in February. Still out of season so rooms were a good price. Check in time was 2pm but we got there at 11.30 and the staff were lovely. They took our bags and details so we could explore until check in. Location was great to get everywhere we wanted to go. Rooms were a decent size, beds comfortable, tea tray well stocked. There's a separate entrance for hotel guests with a lift should you need it. There's a nice little book buy and swap in the hotel entrance. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location for exploring whitby and the surrounding areas

Popped into Whitby as not been there for years. Wherever I go it's always great to find a spoons as you always know what you are getting. Within reason. Food was nice and hot, beer was great and the location/views if you get the right tables upstairs is great.

Very busy pub but to their credit it is kept clean and decent. What can I say about weatherspoons prices, whether you go for a coffee or something stronger prices are very reasonable. Great location on the harbour side well worth a visit but best when it's not so busy

Managed to book a balcony room (in their January Sale 😁). Superb! Don't think we've ever had a 'bad' room here though, & we've been coming since the hotel rooms opened a good few years ago. Great Burns Night meals too 👍. All staff friendly and attentive.

Just call in for a rest and a drink after shopping around Whitby.

Enjoyed our stay. Just go downstairs, press a button and you're in the pub.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, nicely decorated. The pub/restaurant also nicely decorated with great views upstairs if you sit by the windows. The only negative was that there was a long wait for breakfast -45 minutes- possibly because they were understaffed that day.

Love the angel an lots of the staff are so kind and helpful to me and ruthie would love to convert part of the building including the basement into an apartment on baxrergate in whitby by St Catherine new charity shop xx 😀

Didn't stay in the Angel. However, when we go to Whitby we go their breakfast, they have a great choice, staff really friendly

Only ever use the pub but smart and very clean

A really good hotel in a great location for all the amenities and views from the 4th floor harbour and Abbey facing....would highly recommend.

We were looked after by the staff really well. We came boxing day with our two children and staff were brilliant with us . Nothing was too much trouble for them . You can't beat the location and lots of choices on their menu. The room was a good size , warm and comfortable. We didn't have any noise from the bar below, which was amazing. I will definitely stay here again

Place was filthy hundreds of glasses on bar waiting to be washed. Won't be going in again

Sat in here now 30-12-24 9.10pm There must be at least 5 tables downstairs with food and drinks on them for at least over 20 minutes the bar staff aren't busy A pile of glasses on bar waiting to be cleaned All the tables are full but the bar area is quiet Its quite disappointing that they aren't bothered about clearing tables away and watching customers that want to sit at the tables take everything to the bar

Been in for drinks sat at table where people have eaten . Plates are still here 30 mins later , two other tables full of empty glasses , no member of staff going round emptying tables for other customers . People coming in moving glasses to other table to sit , eventually a bunch of younger people come in and take empty to bar . It's busy , but should be someone concentrating on tables , very off putting to sit with other people's leftovers . It's a spoons , it's cheap beer but service and cleanliness is normal everywhere .

Absolutely stunning location . We had a room overlooking the harbour. All the staff were lovely and so helpful. We will definitely be going back again. Couldn't fault it at all. Thankyou for a fabulous stay in Whitby.

We had food portion size was big enough to feed our 5 year old grandchild 8 chips or there abouts and steak was thin all be it cooked well shame really as was a good atmosphere

The management really need to look at their bar staff in this place. Went in for a drink and was greeted by a sarcastic middle aged barmaid, who was extremely rude. When I mentioned this to her colleague on the same bar he just turned round and said your not getting g a drink in here, I was flabbergasted. No customer service no nothing, treating g customers like this is appalling g.

We stayed 1 night with our 2 year son, the room had a king-sized bed and a pull out sofa bed, both were very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy and the check in was fast, staff were pleasant and helpful. We could have used a spare key, if one of us had to pop to the car the other was left in the dark due to the key being needed for electricity and also to be able to get back into the hotel, although we didn't ask at the desk so I wouldn't mark the service or facilities down for that. There is parking nearby, it cost us £11 for 24 hours. Overall the value for money was incredible and we would definitely stay again.

Located on the seafront. 100metres from the bus and train stations. Ideal location to explore from.

One of the best Wetherspoons hotels. Fabulous view of the quayside from the upstairs windows. Good curry, excellent bottle of malbec, a couple of G&Ts and a good night's sleep 😴 💤 👌

Very well managed Spoons, excellent speedy service, food is well cooked and presented. One of the best spoons I have used in the last few years. Steak came cooked medium rare as ordered on both visits.

Waited over an hour for food when did arrive was stone cold so returned and staff said would reheat for us which was not acceptable so asked for full refund which was processed and apologies made by staff for the long wait and arrival of cold food

The hotel you can not beat for the cost and location. It is are go to hotel for Whitby. The staff in the hotel and very friendly and helpful. Re the pub it's self, we found this time that the staff where extremely rude with zero manners and going by our experience this week I would say avoid the place but the hotel I can't fault for the money.

Absolute steal for food & drinks! 2 x double spirits with mixer for less than £10 is always a winner in my book. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Food choice is plenty with great portions for a very reasonable price. Overall a great stop for a few drinks and pub lunch with friends & family! It will always be a stop off for us when visiting Whitby :)

Just a typical spoons. With rooms. can't rate them as we didn't stay here. Just your average ping ding food and your average drinks. No complaints.

It was so busy. I understand it was goth weekend. It would be a better experience if you could get signal or WiFi to be able to use table order service. One of us was queuing at the bar while the other was trying to order online. It was a quiz as to who managed first. Still the best prices though

Busiest weekend of the tear .. whitby Goth and the management decided to have only one member of staff on the bar , poor guy was run ragged ,loads of other staff around but completing online table orders . 25 minutes to queue for a drink ,

New wetherspoons to myself. Popped in for one quick drink about 17:00 on a Saturday and I've never seen so much bouncer action, people were getting chucked out left, right and centre. Still good value..

Justvhad food and drink very nice but can get busy

Ideal for a cheap food and drinks. However the service took longer than expected and the drinks not so nice this time round.

Stayed 3 nights. Good location for railway station, very friendly staff. Clean room, well maintained, plainly decorated. Think Premier Inn, but including bottled water, biscuits and hot chocolate sachet on the hospitality tray. Didn’t eat in as I’m not that desperate for microwaved food.

Enjoyed our two nights away. Not the easiest room to find. Very comfortable super views

Great place to sit and enjoy a drink at reasonable prices while sat watching the harbour and people go by. Toilets were spotless and for women NOT up or down a thousand steps! Big bonus

Rude service, ales constantly ‘out’

Popped in for late lunch after a day trip, with daughter & granddaughter, food was delivered really quickly , granddaughter's sausages were a little over cooked , I had small fish & chips & mushy peas the peas weren't very hot , my daughter had a burger which was fine, We asked for some tomato ketchup which we never arrived & didn't get an explanation as to why. No one came to ask if everything was ok with our meals , which is probably just aswell. Probably wouldn't return again for food.

Had a lovely overnight stay with a friend...room was spotless..bed was very comfortable..but I'm afraid the breakfast we paid for was terrible....cold... overcooked hash browns.. fatty bacon...wish we'd sent it back and requested refund..as we seen other people do later on.....

Cheap as chips and decent food, beer is cheap but I had 2 different ales that weren't brilliant, nothing really to complain about.

Good hotel room's. Bar service was okay but beers were very similar and blonde. The only amber beer was on when we arrived on Monday and wasn't good and it was still on when we left on Thursday. Let's get round to the food, breakfast on Tuesday was served cold and a full English cold is not very good, we complained but it fell on deaf ears. Wednesday it was just aired and again nothing was done, Thursday went out for breakfast, we didn't want the hassle of trying to complain. Tuesday night was very busy and noisy caused by a gang of young girls who looked as though they were trying to drink the bar dry in record time, nine shots each in 5 minutes!!!!
