Staff very friendly, good location and nice touch with the pool table. Shame there's no Becks or Peroni on offer at the bar.

Great pub, great staff and a great place to hang out on a saturday afternoon

Fantastic fish and chip supper night, shared with friends this evening. Beautifully crispy batter surrounding perfectly cooked fish. Absolutely fresh and delicious! Served with chunky chips, mushy peas, homemade tartare sauce, bread and butter! Only £9.50 my local is £4 more!).

A proper pub that has darts, pool, dominoes teams and only does food a couple of nights a week; pie night and fish and chip night. Booking is essential. Nice outside covered are and small garden. Real ale at sensible prices

Very pleasant staff and service. Food was good. Had a pleasant evening. Would recommend you try it. Now 2020 pub is well set up for take aways Friday and Saturday also 5lt kegs of ale for £20.00. Just book early to assure an order. WELL WORTH TRYING. we use it every week.

Regularly visit this rural pub with great staff and service - flexed their provision during Covid to observe the rules and to provide take-aways which include vegetarian options. What a treat to be able to continue to eat there - and now enjoy a takeaway service too. Minutes from lovely a Grantham canal walk.

We had such a lovely few hours there early evening last night. A lovely land lady and the food was very tasty. My son had requested something of menu for me being a ceoliac and it was absolutley no problem. Thank you for that.

We were staying in the village and visited here on both nights for a meal and drinks with our dog. Covid regulations are in full force and being managed amazingly well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and happy to chat (so were the locals). We felt very safe indeed. It was the eat out to help out scheme and we had pizza on Monday and Fish and Chips on Tuesday. Very large portions (especially the pizza), and served in boxes with disposable cutlery. We had loads of pizza left so took it home for supper. All the food was piping hot and very very tasty. A great village pub doing a great job of the Covid situation. Highly recommended for food and drinks. Thank you.

Good food with good value for money!

We took our 2 year old boy in one sunday evening and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so so friendly. The lady behind the bar took the time to get all of the colouring and activities out and sat with our little boy, introducing him to other people and just being wonderful! And there are some great drinks available. On behalf of a tired mummy, daddy and nanny, thank you so much! We would definitely come back x

We have been there numerous times both just for a drink with friends and to eat. We have had a couple of extended family meals to celebrate birthdays, the food is always good and unlike some restaurants, they are not in a rush to push you out as soon as you've finished. We have attended a couple of fund raising events which have been a good way to spend a few hours and last but definitely not least, fish and chip night on the last Tuesday of the month - best fish for miles around! Highly recommended

The Anchor pub hosts a "fish and chip" special night every month which is always a popular event to the point of being fully booked, so reserve early. Marco the owner is a super chef! The fish had the lightest, crispiest batter, surrounding delicious moist cod. Home-made mushy peas, tartare sauce with delicious chips and a freshly bread roll (I love a chip butty)! £16 for 2 people, represented very good value.

Despite where it sits in Tripadvisor this is not a restaurant (though it does do food on Fridays and Saturdays) but an excellent village pub. There are decent ales, a friendly landlord, an open fire in winter, comfortable seating and above all a welcoming pleasant atmosphere. It combines pub things: pool table, darts, football (on a sensibly sized TV) with being the sort of place you can enjoy a drink or two if you're not interested in any of that. Popped in three times over Christmas and the New Year and will undoubtedly come again.

The meals here are always amazing, The staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly and the drinks are always flowing. It is just a lovely place to go out as a couple or to meet new friends and old friends.

Queríamos un lugar para satisfacer mixta gama de edades. Me sorprendió lo amplio, espacioso, no todo el mundo encima de ellos mismos. Camarera educado, sonriente que hizo nuestra pidiendo agradable y servicial.Los entrantes estaban muy bien presentado, todas diferentes.Platos principales, dos de nosotros tuvimos el pollo a la parrilla que nos sentimos los bordes estaban secos. Todos los otros miembros de la familia disfrutamos allí principales encontrados.La camarera trajo a la tarta de cumpleaños, cuchillo, platos y servilletas. (no hay problema).

This is a good proper village pub where most of the customers were obviously local, and also does excellent mealsOne thing that impressed me most is that there were only 3 people working there - one exclusively in the kitchen - but they were as friendly* and efficient as you could want. (*I can't speak for the chef. He was too busy behind the scenes.)They have quite a small menu, but certainly show the value of concentrating on a few things and doing them very well.They also had a very pleasant golden ale as one of the 3 hand pump choices. All the cask ales were a nice round £3.00.

Situado en el tranquilo pueblo de Plungar, en el vale de Belvoir, a unos 8 km de bottesford, y tan sólo a la frontera en Leicestershire (cualquiera que sea la dirección postal podría implicar) es esta bulliciosa zona. Siempre sirve cerveza de micro cervecerías locales, y la casera era muy simpático y hablador. Se puede comer, y dado lo popular que el pub estaba, me imagino que la comida es buena. A juzgar por un póster de noches temáticas, no creo que hay una noche de tapas viniendo, para lo cual es imprescindible la reserva.

An absolute hidden gem! Lovely people, great food and service at a great price. Also well kept real ale at a real country pub.
