Our group of ladies were well treated ( one of us arrived very late and there was no fuss to make us order without her). In fact, service was excellent. We all ate different dishes and all enjoyed our meals. We now think this may also be the Christmas venue for our get- together!

Shocking size of the chocolate caramel cake, we were just given half potions. I did say they were very small slices and was told that’s how small they are potions now! I know there are hard times but to half potions and increase the price is shocking! £4.45 each slice. Not a happy customer. It’s a shame as the site is lovely but will not be ordering any cake again. I did go back and take a photo of the last piece of the cake in the cafe!!!! This would probably be cut into two pieces.

We have eaten here a number of times during our stays at Eye Kettleby and the food has always been really good. The portion sizes, in our opinion, are big for the price, so definitely value for money. The choice is really good and there are daily specials too. The team were happy to accommodate any small changes we asked for which was appreciated. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and after staying on-site for over a week, we got to know some of the team who remembered us from previous stays. We have also had breakfast - again good choice and definitely value for money. Can also recommend the fruit scones….delicious!

Extremely disappointed...We were bringing our 97 year old Aunt with us for lunch. As our Aunty has a very small appetite I asked about the children's menu for her. We were told that they couldn't offer her the child's menu. The manager went through to the kitchen to ask the chef... I was then told that they could do a child's portion, but it would be full price, 'WHAT A RIP OFF' we were extremely unhappy about this but couldn't do anything at the time as it was a Christmas treat. At the end of the meal I did express how unhappy we were. Why can you not offer smaller portions for the elderly at a reasonable price.

Visited with my parent and children for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Whole place very clean and welcoming. Accepts dogs which to many is welcoming but may put others off as there were a few in the restaurant. The breakfast was great value with tea / coffee included and a good range available. Beans come in a separate pot which is great for those who don't like it spreading onto other breakfast items :) Very accommodating for allergies and able to switch out items my daughter is allergic too. Sausages were fab and bacon cooked just as we like it - very well done and crispy :)

We love to escape to Eye Kettleby Lakes lodges for some downtime. The lodges have received some tlc lately so we had new kitchen, dining table and sofa. All lovely. The weather wasn't great, but we stocked up on food and drink and had everything else we could need. We ate our sunday lunch at the Tearoom and can only say it was delicious. Good portions. Good selection. Good menu - we'd booked and advised we needed a dairy free meal. As always the staff were a delight and we can't wait to be back again hiding in our little place of tranquillity.

We visited today as a party of 8 for Sunday lunch. It was easily the best food we’ve had in an age and the staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating - our daughter is quite a fussy eater and they went out of their way to ensure that she was served something that she really enjoyed! A huge thank you! We’ll definitely be returning.

We went to the Lakes Tea room for lunch recently as we had seen good reviews for it in Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed, and although it is called a tea room, it is more like a restaurant, the whole site is clean and tidy, well organised and good value for money. I ordered Melton Mowbray Chicken and my partner had Cajun Chicken salad. Both were very tasty and I would go as far to say that my Chicken was delicious. Very good value too at £12-95. For desserts we had Cheesecake and Creme Brulee, both with Ice cream, and these too were well presented and very tasty. Service was very good with polite smiling waitresses. The total bill including drinks and coffees etc was £46 which is comparable to the cost per person that we can pay in most restaurants. We are looking forwad to going there again (we live 20 minutes drive away) to try more items on the menu. If you live nearby it is worth looking up this place, the signs say Eye Kettleby Lakes, but there is much more than just fishing there.

...shame about the meal. Four of us ate different choices - three of which were distinctly under par. Coronation Chicken on jacket potato - the cubes of chicken were like eating dice...handmade bacon burger...bacon pure salt, burger drier than the sahara....bbq pork melt...pork like leather and as for the melted cheese....think eating a piece of plastic. Really disappointing food but a fantastic location...Probably won't make a return visit.

We have been staying at this venue for about the last 7 years, we have watched it grow as they have expanded into not just Luxury Log Cabins & Glamping Pods but catering for Caravans with a Touring Park. For us as its adults only accommodation it is a relaxing venu. The Clubhouse now offers a range of food for eating at Breakfast, Lunch & Afternoon Tea with good opening times. We found the food excellent - especially the Soup at lunchtime - not out of a tin or made from powder that's for sure.

They had a special menu for Easter Sunday, mostly Roast dinners, one of us had chicken, another one gammon, another one had beef& the final person had goats cheese that they had with the veg, roast potatoes & Yorkshire(This was a special requst) the staff were really helpful & polite and couldn't do enough to please us. All very happy with all aspects of our dining experience. We would go back hopefully when we visit in our Motorhome.

This was my first visit although my two friends have visited several times. The surroundings are idyllic, way out in the countryside with a long driveway where you pass long horned cattle. There's a substantial car park. The description, "tea-room" is quite misleading as this is actually an extremely large open plan restaurant in a U shape. So there can be many diners in there but it doesn't seem packed. There is also a lovely verandah for outside dining. The menu is very varied and something for everyone, including children. My one comment would be that the price is a wee bit excessive for the type of dining you experience. Having said that, we all very much enjoyed the tastyness of our choices and cleared our plates. The cake is delicious and the portions nicely large for an after main meal treat. We will certainly be returning.

We popped into the Eye Kettleby Tea Room during a country lane Sunday morning meander, really to see just what the "Eye Kettleby Lakes" concept was all about. Glad we did, as it made for a very pleasant stop - ideal for tea, or lunch. Surrounded as it is, by a series of well ordered and very pretty course angling lakes, amongst shady woods, with fields beyond, the setting is picturesque & peaceful. The two large indoor dining areas have a pleasing "pine-log cabin ambience and the service, on a very busy (World Cup) Sunday was both friendly & efficient. The lunchtime menu was fairly comprehensive, more than adequately catering for those seeking a light bite, a full on feast, a refreshing drink, or whatever. All pitched around the "Good Pub Grub" mark, representing fair value, served attractively and of ample proportions. Tempting desserts too! Very pleasant, shady al fresco areas were also available. Child & dog friendly, it makes for an attractive refreshment destination stop - non anglers very welcome! The farm shop just up the road is well worth a look too. We'll be back.

Firstly , I should say that all the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The extensions inside and outside are exceptional. However, the break fast on Saturday morning, did let EK down. The toast came with the breakfast, it was piled on to, with no sideplate to use. Non of the 4 of us, had butter...we had to chase staff for some. I squeezed the field mushroom, to remove all the grass....but there was so much grease soaked in it, it was inedible. The scrambled eggs were obviously microwaved, and were just a crumbly pile of rubbery pieces. I left them. The 2 pots of tea came without milk....again we had to chase staff to get some. All in all, a disappointing breakfast. We are regular visitors here, but won't be using the clubhouse for breakfast again. We will use it for sandwiches and cakes, going forward.

Restaurant has good local reputation, nice location and food is not bad but the "steak and onion pie" that I ordered was just an oval bowl of mince with a square bit of pastry on top, a few lack lustre chips and some cooked frozen peas. Asked waitress to check with kitchen re my dish but she avoided us thereafter with no explanation. Lamb steak dish was tough also. I was probably just unlucky but wouldn't go again for lunch. Me and a group of friends decided to have lunch here with our children. We chose to sit outside so that the children wouldn't disturb other diners. Unfortunately, the outside area has no boundary fences or play area and this tempted the smaller children to run towards the car park and the lake. The staff we encountered were very abrupt and the waitress could not be bothered to walk around the table to put the food down in front of us. Our drinks orders were also forgotten about. I appreciate that not everywhere is child friendly but my friend did explain that we were bringing the children when she booked and there is a children's menu which implies that it is a child friendly place.

Visited the restaurant on Sunday morning. It was almost empty still staff informed us that we can't seat at the table because they are fully booked for lunch. In a while we decided that it wouldn't be comfortable to have a lunch at the sofa next to entrance doors so we wanted to have a cup of tea but this didn't help us to seat at the table in the restaurant for 20 minutes. Most of the tables weren't marked as reserved, staff charged us for two pots of tea when we asked for one pot for two. It was still empty when we left. But we couldn't have a table and had to seat on the sofa next to entrance. Liked this place previously but won't go there anymore.
