Traditional afternoon tea at The Anchor Bar, Chelsea. When we were in view of the hotel, it just reminded me of the Copthorne Hotel and it turns out its from the same group. Entering the place, it was very Chinese with red paper things like Asia but probably due to CNY. Anyway, had the afternoon tea which was a waste of money like the ones in Asia. The worst thing was the sandwiches which were so dry. You could run your fingers on the surface of the bread and get no resistance. The bread felt so dry and rough that it would not deform on touch like fresh bread. The classic scones were too crumbly and hard like American biscuits [the Southern style American ones], again they look and taste like the scones in Asia. The tea menu didn't quite align with me as it was too floral so the only choices were either black or green.

The place is beautiful, the people serving are very nice. What was questionable was the simplicity of the food; we had the brunch. The eggs Florentine was nice, nothing too refine, no extras (bread or potatoes, or fruits). I enjoyed the Mimosas, and the pancakes. It was the strict minimum. For the price charged, adding 12.5% for annuities, I was expecting a bit more.

Very desapointed . I will avoid the brunch from now on . Buddha salade was so cold directly from the fridge. No sauce..no bread. The eggs Benedict were warm but ok , the bread under was hard and everything slammed on top of each other cold ham . Not refined for the price. The service was good, no value for money .

During our visit, we faced several issues: 1. The cocktail my mum initially ordered was unavailable. She then ordered another one, which also couldn't be made due to missing ingredients. She eventually settled for the same cocktail my mother-in-law ordered, but it arrived without alcohol and seemed hastily made. 2. When the rest of the drinks finally arrived after a long wait, the bartender accidentally spilled my Coke on me, soaking my cardigan, bag, and phone. The bartender was very apologetic and assured us that our drinks would be complimentary. 3. After cleaning up, we went to settle the bill, only to find that only one drink had been removed, and it wasn’t the one that was spilled. We tried to explain that we were told all drinks would be free due to the spill, but the bartender (not the one who served us) was unresponsive to our concerns. Additionally, we were charged a service fee despite the subpar service we received and after contacting the hotel bar they were unable to refund us for the drinks.

My partner and I popped in for oysters & champagne on our anniversary and were so well looked after by Mario & the rest of the team. We felt absolutely spoiled and Mario truly made our day. We can’t wait to come back!

6.20 pm. Loud music has started. We are here for 4.30 pm tea and to talk. Is it a disco? There are not even enough people here to appreciate. The place is empty ... except for us :-(

Honestly shocked how racist the manager is. He only brought the non Asians orders. Only until 10 minutes after everyone else's food and drinks came did they get their drinks.

I waited 30 minutes for two peri-peri chickens, which was far longer than expected (Nandos can do better during the busy hours) Additionally, I noticed that a pizza tray was placed on the floor, which raises serious health and safety concerns. This is unacceptable in any food establishment. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend this place

Good food shame about the bread. 7/10 We went for the £35 set sharing menu during lunch and it was nice. The food just keeps on coming especially the starters. The starters were lovely, the key here is not to make the rookie error like I did by filling yourself up on the starters and then too full for the main. Portion sizes are good and the food is flavoursome. The only downside with this place which is why I say 7/10 is because the bread. It’s cheap pitta bread that you can buy from Asda. I personally love Lebanese bread and I was expecting that when going into a Lebanese restaurant but they cut corners and buy ghandi’s flip flop bread from the supermarket. Not good But the rest of the food was great

This shop displays pictures of the shop next-door's menu items next to low prices, illustrated with the exact same photographs modified using Photoshop, in order to poach its customers, when in-fact they don't sell these items & the equivalent items are significantly more expensive. Non hygienic
