The American Diner in Hartlepool

We had not been here for about 3 years and called in just by chance today. We both had milkshakes; my husband had the regular banana and I had the ‘Million Dollar’ banoffee shake. They were both fantastic, very flavourful and made with fresh ingredients (I could see the bananas being peeled from where I was sitting). Our server was called Hollie and she couldn’t have been nicer. We will definitely be returning, thank you.

A friend and I popped in for a sugar boost (1 a diabetic and 1 fighting the big C) and had a couple of milkshakes. The staff were simply amazing, friendly, genuinely interested and first class full stop.

Passed this diner numerous times and always wanted to call in, well today we did and I will be calling in again, excellent service 5* +, just had the breakfast wrap but what a wrap lol, Mrs eats had to use her knife and fork - me I used what god gave us lol, re-fill of coffee in required omg, never had that at a breakfast stop before, clean, tidy place to sit and eat as I have already said staff were brill I will be back.

Absolutely wonderful breakfast I can never eat it all, always pleasant staff ready to refill your cup of coffee

I took my son and grandchildren here and we had milkshakes and hot dog and chips which were brilliant the milkshake was mmmmmmmmmmmm . Staff were pleasant and I would definitely be returning and I also recommend it .large menu to choose from

The food was very good, if only the staff had been a bit more attentive (long waits, had to go and get our own table sauces, no point buying refillable drinks as so hard to get attention of staff to refill) and also the toilet smelled unclean. It could ah e done with a good scrub down with bleach. Food we had was tasty. Such a shame about the other points.

Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. I'm glad the two of us didn't have a main course each - couldn't have managed to eat it! So much food - really good quality though and the Key Lime Pie was gorgeous!!

Had 2 burgers lovely French fries, top up on soft drinks, milk shakes looked good. Would visit again. Large menu to choose from

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was . The wife had the full breakfast which turned out to be a winner with excellent black pudding. I had the chicken enchiladas which again turned out to be another tasty dish. I will definitely be calling in again to check out their burgers.
