honestly all 5 stars the place was clean, welcoming, amazing food. i got the cookie milkshake and ultimate burger and fires it was amazing and fill u up more than u can eat ❤️

Service was good... Don't forget to register your car when U arrive. Philly steak just came in a hotdog bun and they had run out of coleslaw which was poor... Not rushing back

Don't touch this place. Turn right on entry. Grab snack from Shell forecourt, and get on your way. Between Smart Parking, and OK Diner directors, they're scamming car parking charges. The intent to charge, indicated by apparent signs, can't be clearly seen when it's dark. They don't indicate when diner is closed, so you can be parked up before you notice, and then they claim you're not a customer. Who knows if the food is any good. I've zero intention of finding out in the future

Travelling down the a19 and fancy a break? Simply pop in the OK Diner for a breather and pick up a £100 parking fine whilst you are there. I won't be back for more.. Potential customers you have been warned before you visit. Ok Diner You can shove it..

If it wasn't so expensive, it would probably be one if the best burger restaurants. Taking family of 4 can cost you over £60 for a basic burger chips and milkshake.

It's a nice place to go for a leisurely meal out, great for sitting a chatting with a meal or a drink, or one of their posh milkshakes. It's not somewhere to eat if you are in a rush. Fairly simple foods to choose from mainly Burgers, Hot dogs, chilli, salads, all day breakfasts. They have puddings too and their milkshakes are thick ice cream style (don't try a pudding and a milkshake unless you have a big appetite) Nice retro American diner styling. Parking is usually easy. They do have a system to enter your reg no into now. It says you get a full days parking if you enter your Reg No. Internet is poor in that area but the diner has their own internet and the staff will tell you the code.

Nice food with, prices aren't bad at all. Only downside young female server wasn't very attentive and could learn to smile occasionally.

Nice little spontaneous meal out with my little girl, finished early so picked up from school and popped into OK Dinner We started with our favourite milkshake BFG and it did not disappoint I had the spicy beef sub and my daughter had the chicken burger upgraded to twister fries is a must Good service and good tasty food nice little night out

Very nice, had the pancakes and syrup with banana. Very simple but very delicious. My partner had a club sandwich and said it was lovely. They had a high chair for the little one and provided crayons and a menu that he could draw on. Always good to have a distraction while waiting for food

Always driving by them, today decided to finally stop by. Sure beats a service station sandwich.

Love black pudding. Didn't have any. 3 star. It seemed as if the really old woman with glasses who has been there a while didn't even want to be at work when we were there. This saddened me.

Lovely food and attentive staff. Fantastic hearty meal with a delicious dessert. My partner got the black coffee and they made sure his mug was never empty!

Can't comment on food, as we didn't have any. Weird place next to a service area on the A19. We only stopped to get a coffee and use the loo. Didn't expect to find an American diner here. Service still took a while, despite almost NO customers.

Great food here. We especially like the chilli with curly fries and cheese. Very nice. Parking good too apart from anoying camera limiting your parking duration. A heafy fine if you overstay so be careful.

Like a real American Diner (1950's)....Food was good and the peanut butter milkshake is unreal.

Friendly and helpful staff, bland and average menu offering, music genre well suited but the audio levels are poor (no Mixing between tracks, clipping and high treble common). Careful with the car park, ticket/fine trap if you miss the register screen or the notice signs.

Showed up after closing. 21:09 to 21:16 was in the car park. It was shut so tried to check opening times. Signage was missed due to the dark at the time and lighting is poor. In this time I got a PCN. Couldn’t enter to input my reg information so as such the 5 minute window was over and the PCN was issued. Tried to appeal to OK diner, they decided I wasn't worth helping. However, the same issue happened 10 weeks prior to myself and they redacted their PCN. That was 3 months after the parking system was instated according to them. This is now little over 5 month and that apparently is too long after installation but 3 month is fine. The only way they could help me is if I had a receipt and a PCN code. Which obviously I couldn’t get as the place was closed. They must think I wanted a nice £100 fine for 7 minutes worth of looking for opening times. Hadn’t been for years and wanted to try the place again. Will never be going back. The place is embarrassing.

OK Diners are everything they promise. I've used quite a few so knew how they work and the menus they excel at. Great coffee and really filling meals at sensible prices. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend them when your travelling. Great music as well!!

Called in here, for a quick tea time bite. Driven past here many times and always wondered what it would be like. The staff were super friendly. Food was exactly what we expected. Worth a visit. Staff returned frequently to ask if we wanted a free refill of drinks

Awful no outdoor furniture so no outdoor dining and charged £100 for parking. We loved the food before this when we didn’t have the dog with us. We checked the menu on the door and found there were no takeaway menu so got snacks from the garage. Absolutely will never go back and have told all my friends and family on social media not to go here. We won’t be.

UPDATE: 09.04.24: Great food and great service as always. The Big Porker hotdog with BBQ pulled pork is unreal. UPDATE: 09.06.23: My mother and I popped in for some lunch after a long trip. The service was excellent - thanks Nichola - and the food was the best yet. Absolutely loved the BBQ hot dog. My mum doesn't usually eat burgers but really enjoyed it! I had the chargrilled chicken butterfly breast burger, with bacon, chips and a bubblegum milkshake. My sister had a beefburger with chips and a black forest milkshake. We had some onion rings each. My nephew had spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread, a Capri Sun and a chocolate ice-cream cone. The food and service were fantastic. We really enjoyed it all. My nephew especially was crazy for the spag bol as he kept telling everyone. The 15% off loyalty card gave a nice saving. Will definitely be back.

We had a great experience here at this American inspired diner. Recommend the cheeseburger and Monterey cheese, root beer ice cream soda. The banoffee milkshake was incredible - banoffee being an English addition ;-). Will definitely eat here again

Really good diner. May seem pricey but worth it. Fresh cooked and great portion sizes. Refills on tea and coffee. Milkshakes come with their own refill vessel. Really would recommend and will be back. Remember to register your Vehicle Registration Plate for the parking!

It's more than OK... here's why! The Good 🍔 The prices are competitive compared to the usual service station outlets. The theme and ambience of the Diner is also good fun. Staff are also super friendly whenever we visit. The Not So Bad 🍨 The menu is great if you enjoy fast food. If you're going then we'd recommend burgers, pancakes and the breakfast options (not all at once!) The Ugly 💩 If you're trying to be 'good' or eat low cal then it probably isn't the place for you.... but then we'd say to give yourself a day off if you are visiting here!

Stood for a good ten mins before being seated when not busy. Took 40 mins for food to come. Asked if everything was ok and I said it wasn’t. My food was cold and I couldn’t eat it. Was told it could be cooked again - another 40 mins. Nope. Still charged for a £17 meal that went back to the kitchen £100 for a below average meal for visitors to the area we had recommended you for. Poor!

I would advise anyone not to use this restaurant my son and his girlfriend went and they put there registration in on entering , 2 weeks later she recieved a fine from smart parking, she appealed and sent proof of payment that she ate in the restaurant and apparently that's not proof and the appeal was disapproved! Visited the restaurant to complain as there machine must be faulty to be told there's nothing they can do as its nothing to do with them, yes it is to do with them as the machine is in there restaurant, very bad customer service and a good way for them to rip customers off. Great food and very helpful staff and very friendly.

We waited for an hour for our food. Only one chef. Food was very basic and my gluten free roll was hard as a rock (and paid extra for it). I only ate it because I was very hungry. On a bright note the waiter was very nice and apologised for the wait.

It definitely gives 50s American diner vibes! Food smells amazing as soon as you walk in, staff are friendly and ready to help, reasonable prices and delicious food!

Visited this place on the way down to York for a weekend Holiday. Was really surprised to see a classic American 1950's style diner like this on the A1 as I was looking for a place to have lunch. Had an all day breakfast with a soft drink. The prices are roughly what you'd pay at a cafe. But it was good. Really enjoyed it and look forward to visiting again on my next adventure. Would recomend for those of you classic American car and motorcycle enthusiasts who love the American cultural stuff like classic diners. Especially if you're a fan of retro and vintage stuff.

Great looking diner, good music (rock and roll) and great food. We've been using this diner when in the area for many years and have always had good service.

Called in for a quick bite and ordered a bacon and egg roll which was very nice as was the coffee. My friend had the same but with a pot of tea. He enjoyed the roll but the tea was "tea?". Not sure what he was expecting? 😂 Pricing is a little on the expensive side for what you get but not overly so. I will definitely be going back as I enjoyed the whole experience.

Called in after work, on the way to see friends to organise a weekend away. I had the Yankee Doodle Dandy with eggs, bacon, has browns and 3 pancakes with syrup. OH had surf n turf burger. Simon was out server and was really helpful and pleasant to us throughout our visit. He couldn't have been more helpful and was willing to have a chat while he served. Lovely guy and the food is always good here. Thanks Simon.

Appalling that you have to put your car details into a machine inside the diner to avoid a £100 fine.

OK diner. More thank ok! Thought we’d give the OK Diner near Hartlepool a go after our holiday. Wednesday is any burger for £7.95 when purchasing a drink, which we thought was a bargain considering most of the burgers are around £15 Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly waiting staff who took us to our table. The layout and authenticity of the diner is excellent, going for that American diner chic! Good selection of American style food. We both settled for burgers. Mine was BBQ and partners was cheeseburger. Both came well presented with plenty of skin on fries. Burgers stayed together well in the buns. Taste of burgers very good although texture wise I would have preferred slightly thinner (although that is my own preference). Staff were very friendly throughout. Two drinks and two burger meals came £24. Can’t complain at that 👌 Will be coming back to try the range of desserts and pancakes as they sound amazing !

Do not waste your money! Bought a milkshake for over a fiver and it was just melted ice cream in a cup :(

Onion ring tower could have done with a couple of minutes more, bit soggy. Chicken and fries better than earlier last week. Last time there was hardly any chicken on it. We'll be back..Service was excellent.

Hgv Driver, stopped for fuel and felt hungry. Saw the OK Diner and thought I would go in and see if I could get something to go. Walked in and was approached by a young friendly lady immediately and I asked if I could get take away as I'm pushed for time. What fantastic staff. Very approachable and always smiling. Young lady gave me my coffee personally as I sat in lobby. Didn't want to disturb other customers. Didn't wait too long and the friendly young gentleman who was the chef gave me my meal personally. Wonderful place, need more places like this. Can't wait to drive in with the family when we venture south from Scotland. Meal was great. Best Burger I've tasted in years.

‘OK’ diner is ironically the best way to describe it. It looks great with the themed style, the service wasn’t bad, but when it comes to value for money…that’s a whole other story. We called in for breakfast, ordered the short stack pancakes each and I added streaky bacon to mine as I had always been curious to try the combination of syrup and bacon. Unfortunately the small single slice of streaky bacon I got for the extra £1.65 to go between 4 pancakes sadly left me not really experiencing the syrup/bacon combo. The American themed diner sadly seems to stop at decor and background music, the renowned large American portions definitely needs a lot of work to match up. And to top off the disappointing experience, we noticed on the way out we could have gotten 15% discount if in the ok diner club, we are in the club but didn’t realise the discount and it wasn’t mentioned at point of payment.

Expensive for what is offered. The place Especially for the decorum. You really think you're in an American diner from the 50s. The Burger was nothing more. The fries are very good, very crispy. The cheesecake is not tasty with the base that decomposes.

Not a bad place at all with reasonable prices. Quite surprised for a little motorway Cafe / Diner. Relatively good service too. They would have scored higher if the coffee machine wasn't broken. It needs fixing ASAP....

Food was just ok wouldn’t hurry back. On the plus side it was very American and looked like a full on 1950s diner’s picture that you see online. There was wee on the floor in the toilets. It’s like it’s name ok diner. Love to spot diners on the A1 so I wanted to try it. It wasn’t what I expected. Very overpriced as well.

Steak was beautiful just what I needed after a 3 hour drive friendly staff , thumbs up

The breakfast was absolutely shocking , we got the pancake stack with bacon , when it came we received 4 pancakes that felt like rubber and straight out the freezer additionally it came with ONE piece of bacon which was awful. We also got a coffee which tasted like dirty dishwater - unclear if i ordered tea or coffee based off its terrible terrible taste. The service was okay i guess but they didn’t even take our drinks when we sat down which is necessary. Outside of the diner is a sign which states ‘kids eat free’ - THEY DO NOT £7 for a kids meal , if your going to say it make it true!! Overall i will most DEFINITELY NOT BE COMING BACK!

Fabulous dining experience, the waiter, Simon was superb with my son and had excellent banter.

Sad to say our last visit here wasn't great - dirty glasses & cutlery - food wasn't executed as well as previous visits and service was good staff were very polite - but had they paid attention to detail I may not have been drinking from a glass full of grease and crumbs .. this venue has the opportunity to be somewhere exceptional and it's sad - toilets were not clean to a suitable standard on all occasions...

Really great diner with some incredible desserts! Theres a "kids eat free" option which means it can be a little busy and noisy, but that just adds to the character of the place. Good 50 music too!

Went for the first time after many years of wanting to go but never getting round to it. Very happy and wish I went years ago. Food was fantastic, décor and staff where also fantastic. My daughter's meal which should of been £7 odd for kids main, drink, and desert(cheap for what you where getting anyway) was free because I got a meal Unlimited refills on the drinks, staff where round frequently checking if you needed a refill and getting you a fresh drink. With the theme and how close it was to the A19, felt like a real route 66 kind of experience. Will be back.

Terrible ,they gave us water with dish soap because we complained the orange juice was was expired ,terrible service food was rotten I got sick from it do not go here not recommend.😡😠

My first ever Smores Sandwich! Great place, comfortable seating, good menu, well cooked & presented dishes and FAB staff. A really unusual treat (for me...) ~~~o0o~~~ It's been a while (due to health) but I picked up my new car, then picked up a couple of friends and went to celebrate with an American milkshake/malt. Just knew it was a perfect venue for a quick meet-up & natter. A cheap treat and posher that chips at the beach (warmer too)...

Very friendly staff. Choice on menu ok. I had the bigger breakfast (£10-50). It was good. Coffee (£2-95) with free refills (in a smaller cup) was good value Well worth a visit if you're travelling the A19.

Alright but food was "alright" and please don't judge me for having a burger and chips.
