Best pub in the area, service is outstanding! Best at any pub. Atmosphere always great! Food great on point, not the normal pub menu. When poutine on the menu, highly recommend

Excellent food, pub menu but with many restaurant dishes with veg options. The meat pie is excellent. The cocktails are good, they also have delicious hot cocktails!

Typical hipster joint with terrible selection of beer. Dizzy barmaid accused me of being a Fosters drinker even though I wanted a draught bitter. Probably wouldn't know the difference between a keg and a cask anyway. Definitely not returning. Now, after being mistaken for a Fosters drinker, the manager has mistaken me for someone being disrespectful. My friend apologised for his own behaviour not mine. Get your facts right

Organised to see some friends for my leaving do before I go travelling for 6 months. It was a perfect evening with great vibes and excellent food.

The Alpaca is one of my favorite pubs in London. The staff are super friendly and efficient, the cosy vibes is perfect for Christmas, and the roasts are really good (especially the lamb), would definitely recommend! We had a table booking for 18 people and they accommodated us really well, letting us pay as we go for drinks along the way to avoid a huge long bill at the end, and the food came promptly and was warm when served. Our waitress was a star. Thank you!

Great staff and lovely pub. However we had to pay £160 to reserve a space which we were advised would offer us two food platters for 30 people - we received enough food for more like 8, and the space we had only seated 16. Would definitely not advise paying to reserve a space - we should have just turned up and commandeered some tables instead!

Went here for our team christmas lunch. Could not fault anything at all, the food the service and the atmosphere was all absolutely spot on. All the staff were amazing and it was so easy or organise but big thanks goes to Louis and Kevin who were with us all day and couldn't do more. Even added to our party vibe! Thank you. We will be back.

Had a thanksgiving event in the private room. Service was amazing, turkey was probably the best turkey I have ever had. Sometimes with big set meals the food is a bit of a poor showing but not at the Alpaca. All 3 courses were really Tataya and had generous portions. Great time had by all, thanks so much

Absolutely loved it. Staff were terrific - even though I messed them around with the booking - food was excellent. Service outstanding - big thanks to Mandy/Mandie and the chap with the long hair whose name I didn't catch but was superb. Definitely will be back. Cannot think of one single negative. Thank you!

Ashley was the best server I have ever had she outdid everyone she deserves a raise

Okay, the good: our waiter was phenomenal – super attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, that's about as far as it goes. The wines we had (Chardonnay and Riesling) weren't great. The bar ran out of Neck Oil IPA, but instead of telling us, they just put a cheap lager in a Beavertown glass and tried to serve it to us. Super sketchy. The food wasn't great, either. Some of the snacks were okay (but overpriced for their size), but the burgers we had were so bad they were almost inedible – far too much salt and a badly burned burger patty. Pretty poor for £17. It was also much too loud, so we could barely hear each other over the table. We've been to The Alpaca before for Sunday roasts, which were GREAT, but this was an extremely disappointing experience for us.

We were not expecting to have the most wonderful time when we stumbled into The Alpaca out of desperation, really. We were hungry, cold, and on the verge of panic as to whether we'd find somewhere decent for lunch that could also accommodate our large buggy. The staff were *chef's kiss*. Agatha was like a magical fairy sprinkling happy dust on all of us, including on our not-easily-impressed babies. She kept us warm and cosy by the fire and even took a couple Polaroids. There were alpaca teddy rides. The bathroom was so clean for changing my baby. I mean I still can't believe it all went down. We'll be back a million times more ❤️

Delicious Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding. Staff were amazing - in particular Agatha who lavished attention on our baby daughter which made our day!

Didn't expect such a big and nice pub there.

Wow. Came in with high expectations from friends about their burger. Somebody in the kitchen did not know their grams from their mg. Uyuni Salt plain. That is the only way to describe my mouth. Something happened in the mix. Surely not the only dry sole here tonight.

Booked the night before for a Sunday roast. Food came very quickly after ordering and was probably one of the best pub roasts I’ve had. We had the lamb and pork belly. Well presented and initially looked like a small portion, but was very filling and plenty. My bug bear is Yorkshire’s with no flavour, but these were great. Staff were attentive, the pub was cosy and lively without being hectic. A mixture of families, all age groups and types of people. We got the two roasts, plus a bottle of wine for £80.

Lovely traditional style pub in the heart of London. Good selection of beers on tap and nice to be offered the choice of a jug or a straight glass!

Went for a Sunday roast yesterday. Great tender beef, plenty of sides and most importantly good potatoes. While I couldn't have the Yorkshire Pudding (being gluten free) my other half enjoyed his (they are big). Good selection of wine and a good bloody mary - not too spicy but not underspiced. The latter being the most important part of starting a Sunday Roast.

Llegamos un jueves por la tarde, el lugar era muy tranquilo. En el bar pedí una pinta y media de cerveza Moretti y pregunté si hacían comida. Sí - dice el chico del bar '¿quieres montar una pestaña - voy a traer las bebidas y los menús '. La comida era buena. Fui a pagar al bar mientras mi amigo visitaba el baño. No habrían añadido las bebidas a la comida si no se lo hubiera recordado. Parecía un poco caro y mirando el recibo me di cuenta de que habían añadido 12. 5% de servicio a todo por traer dos hamburguesas y dos copas a 3 m del bar. No quería discutir delante de mi amigo que había elegido el lugar. Esto equivale a una pinta en £ 7. 54 - cosas descaradas, y no estoy acostumbrado a esto entrar en un pub para un par de bebidas y un par de hamburguesas que fácilmente podríamos haber pedido en el bar.

Great pub in a great location. Love sitting outside as it’s a really great sun spot late afternoon/evening drink. Internally the decor is great, friendly service and great food.

I've visited the alpaca twice now, once for a roast in August and this weekend for large group booking. The roast was excellent, I am usually dubious of any pub roasts but this was excellent!! Every element was cooked well. The starters and desserts were also very good. We sat in the courtyard and we really appreciated Lola who served us who we got on really well with. I booked again for this weekend for a group of friends to have drinks and some food. From when we arrived till left everyone who worked there was fantastic. We had some nice chats with a few of them when it was quieter and they very really attentive throughout. The food was again excellent, everyone enjoyed their food who got any. We got the fish and chips and it was the best curry sauce I've ever had!! My partner also said the pardon peppers were best he ever had too. Thank you to the alpaca team

This public house is the perfect place to spend hours relaxing in one of their comfy spaces, enjoying drinks and good food. We spent a great part of our Saturday afternoon here, and it was a very soothing and enjoyable moment. The staff is very nice and friendly, and makes you feel like home. Thanks Update : we had beef Sunday roast and it was delicious, the meat was perfect ! Definitely one of our best pub in Islington

Had been here on a Friday evening in early August and had quite a nice evening, so booked it for dinner on Saturday just gone. Food was fine, service was decent (and friendly), but the loud music made it nigh on impossible to talk, which is something I generally like to do over dinner. If you want to be a place that has a DJ and thumping tunes on a Saturday night, fine, no problem - that's up to you. But maybe don't take dinner bookings?

The food was ok, but the party and the people are great here!

Stumbled across this pub last night. Bit of a shame that the terrace was closed, but the service and food were great! When I asked for a quieter spot I was pointed to the back which was much better for us. Great spot for a bite and a pint :)

I had my handbag stolen from here, staff did little to help. Most expensive trip to the pub.

Best burger in forever, washed down with a great pint ,SUPERB !

Leon was the Best. He was super attentive and nice. He even recommended some dishes and you must try their squid it was soo nice !!!!

A fantastic local, the team are always welcoming & friendly which really makes a difference. I've been coming here for years and never been disappointed in service or atmosphere. Keep doing what you're doing guys, it doesn't go unnoticed.

Recently had my wedding here and can't recommend it enough. Ags was very responsive throughout the whole process and her and her team were flawless during the event. A very friendly.

The staff were absolutely incredible! From confirming our booking to the end of our meal, everyone was so kind and helpful (even on a night as busy as the Euro finals). We love The Alpaca and will be back very soon!

Warm atmosphere, fast service, friendly staff. It's also a good spot to watch football games. We tried the food called “homemade flatbread, onion hummus, onion jam, vegan feta, black olives, piquillo pepper, beetroot balsamic” and it tasted guite delicious. Definetely recommended.

Great pub however the service is quite slow. Also the sharing roast plate is probably only big enough for 2 adult men.

I have always loved this pub. Food is nice, service impeccable and there is always a very nice buzz around the place. Recently they have started running table service for the outside tables and I must say it worked great for us yesterday. Pints kept coming very quickly and they were super attentive.

Excellent pub for a Sunday roast. Very thankful to the staff who were patient with two jet-lagged kiddos. Even offered some coloring materials and stickers.

Its a charming pub, but the Sunday roast didn’t live up to my standards. The beef one was good, but the chicken one - oh boi, it was dry and bland, but you would think that the dryness was due to the crispy skin, but no! Drinks were good, staff is excellent, super friendly, so we will come again, but not for the food though🙈

The alpaca is fantastic. However, what makes a truly good pub experience for me, was Tom’s service. They are all great there.

Had a wonderful evening at the Alpaca catching up with good friends. We all enjoyed our meals, great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive We thought we'd be there a few hours and stayed 4!!!

Very limited bar snacks on offer. Drinks were great and service was slightly compromised due to a busy football night, but otherwise a great experience.

If you’re looking for a pub to spend a legendary night with the lads, look no further. Come to Alpaca, down a few brews, and thank me later. Months later, the lads and I still reminisce on the night we spent at this fine Islington establishment. The foxes we encountered on our way home were no match for us after experiencing Alpaca. P.S.: while not strictly necessary, I highly recommend getting a post-Alpaca kebab. Really rounds out the night 👌🏻.

I walked past the Alpaca on my birthday last week and got chased down the road and screamed at by two people (presumably working there). They kept shouting “are you going to pay then” or something like that, which was extremely weird and aggressive. We told them they must be confusing us for someone else and they didn’t apologise, just said “Oh” and turned around and walked back to the pub without apologising or explaining. Really strange and bad vibes from an otherwise lovely pub

Amazing place, a lot of spaces, decent food and a lot of choices of tap beer. Friendly staff and bubbly atmosphere. Another gem discovered. A+++

The service in the Alpaca is always great But I must say that the beef has gone down hill , thin slices tasteless, the potatoes are also very plain , crumble for dessert, with apple, and gooseberries, fruit was nice but crumble was a very thin layer , watery Shame as this pub is great with fantastic staff

I went here a couple of days ago. The food was very good and the atmosphere was lovely. That night there was a little concert, but it wasn't at all too loud. Overall I had a very nice experience.

Living in Islington been going there for years this afternoon got told when having a private conversation with a friend a member of staff asked us to keep our opinions to ourselves and was backed up by management why would bar staff listen to conversation any way if you value your opinion and would like to have freedom of speech steer clear of the alpaca lots of locals do nuff said

It's great to do something different and fun, and not to take things too seriously. I enjoyed it.

Lovely, lively pub. Food is OK (I went for Sunday roast), the portions could be more generous. They have outdoor seats and quiz nights.

Good food, good beer, friendly and efficient staff. Cosy, intimate ambience. The music was at the perfect level( which for me means I can hear it, but Shazam can’t pick it up). Primary reason for going was to enjoy a nice dinner and we weren’t disappointed. I had the fish of the week, which was panfried cod and my son had the pie of the day. We succumbed to the sticky toffee pudding which was also good. I would definitely go again - the fish and chips looked promising!

Hosted drinks for my birthday here and the Alpaca 🦙 really made it extra perfect great food amazing selection of food, beer and wine (ever beers from trying brewery) and we where well looked after by staff.

Rude waitress and slimy battered fish with undercooked chips. I came here two months ago and it was amazing, but this time the chef messed it up and the fish was completely undercooked. Even though we hardly touched it the waitress said she couldn’t take it off the bill because the fresh fish was expensive for them to buy and was usually brilliant. In the end she took it off the bill and was very arrogant/angry. Won’t be coming back.

Everyone who works here, every time I've been, is incredibly kind and helpful, best pub staff in London. Food and cocktails are consistently delicious, well presented, with inventive options alongside the classics. The only negative thing I have to say about the Alpaca is that it's pretty loud and can be hard to carry on a conversation sometimes, but I guess that's a testament to the crowd here having a good time...

Too noisy and too crowded. We booked a table for dinner and in the room there was also a big birthday party, we should have been informed before. The table was small, we could hardly fit into it. We were put close to the emergency door which was constantly being opened by peopeple going in and out, making us feel very cold. After the beginning of the dinner, the waiter disappeared and left us alone all the time. When I was in need of extra drinks or food I had to stand up and queue at the bar for ages. Worst service. One positive note, the food, very delicious!!

Had a roast in the Alpaca yesterday. Our first visit. Really enjoyed the experience. Stunning looking pub. Millie really looked after us.

While it's not quite as fun as The New Rose was, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. Also amazing that it's one of the few pubs in Angel that doesn't inexplicably have a queue outside it on a Friday night. Perhaps I'm just getting old.

Had a fantastic Lamb roast at the Alpaca, very tender meat and lots of gravy. My partner had the gammon which was also very soft. Our waiter Craig was very attentive and friendly. He gave us a great wine recommendation and was very accommodating and suggestive to support our dietary needs. Would highly recommend coming to the Alpaca.

When I was 16 I had my first savoury pie experience. That day I felt I had become a fully grown human being, with all his senses in tune. Ever since then, I have been chasing Puff the Pastry Dragon. Today, I feel I have finally caught up to that dragon. TLDR: The veggie pie is banging.

We came in and had the Sunday roast but was disappointed… the gravy was watery, potatoes were super hard everything kind of tasted as if it was just heated up.

Beautiful pub with some tvs up to watch whatever sport that’s on. Friends and I went for a roast dinner. We thought it was kind of average unfortunately.

Great location, fun vibes - always a good time

This was a wonderful experience. I turned up half way through my lovely friend’s evening and the vibes were running off the charts off the scale away from me. Jessica was explicitly amazing , and particularly accommodating for my friend Leon’s needs.

Good menu Lighting was too dark for me to read the menu. Acoustics was not great to catch up with old friends at peak lunch/ dinner time. OK for outside of these times.

Booked a table for 6 yesterday evening and have to say service was very polite and helpful. Food delicious and drinks good as well. It got a little noisy by about 9.30pm but not surprising as drinks being consumed and the place was full. Would definitely return this is a little gem!
