Excellent little pub. Friendly staff.

This is my local pub and have been often. Used to go to the Bingo on Thursday nights. I popped in on mother day and the owner was a bit intense, fussing over us a bit too much. It was the first time I seen her in there. I wrote a review saying not sure the owner was coping with it being busy. I went back on Good Friday and the owner was upstairs, seen us sitting down and came down and starting scolding me in front of my daughter about my review. She didn't apologise, but stood over us, corrected me and she isn't a manager, but the owner and her name is above the door. My daughter was like look, your obviously upset, we've just bought a drink so just give us a refund and we'll leave. The owner refused so we had to leave. The pub is alright when she isn't there. She's ruined it.

Great venue with fresh and tasty food, projection screen for sports and outside areas. Reasonably priced with private venue hire and really friendly staff. Honestly such a well decorated and unique venue, great selection of drinks, and the owner (Ramona) is an absolute star! So professional and always remembers the regulars and greets everyone with the warmest welcome. It’s busy for a good reason, and we always come back for that reason!

Absolutely have the biggest soft spot for Oak & Pastor - have been coming here since pubs reopened during COVID times and it never disappoints. Had the pleasure of meeting Ramona, who is an absolute gem. She is always on top of everything, carefully and thoughtfully making sure everyone is having the best time. Definitely one of our regular and favourite spots in the archway area ❤️

The Irish blonde woman is not ok. She does not allow anyone any personal space, lies and is overall quite obnoxious. She clearly needs help, whatever that may be. Please be aware if you go here. Would give 0 stars but 1 star is the minimum can enter.

Had a nice evening. The pint of guinness was really nice. The ambience of the pub is lovely. Not a very big place. Food was very disappointing. We both ordered the beef burger and chips .While it was presented well , cumin was in it. It was inedible for our taste.

Been in this pub before as its local. went again on Sunday as it was mother's day and the little blond lady was either not coping because it was busy or was on something she shouldnt have been. I sat down on a stool and she came straight over to me with tissues on the floor wiping the floor with her foot while circling around me again and again telling me it is Mother's Day today (she told me the day 4 times). She was very close to me, felt pretty uncomfortable tbh. She Then took my daughters umbrella that was leaning against the table and threw it towards the entrance. I picked the umbrella back up and put it back. Not sure why she chose me when it was busy in there. Hurried to finish my drink before she came back again to tell me what day it was again!! Very strange woman

This is one of our favourite bars in Archway. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly. I've spent many an afternoon/evening there with a few drinks watching the world go by. The food is traditional pub grub, but you get a great selection to choose from. Sunday lunch is perfect. Amazing value for money and so much food. Music is good and all the drinks are reasonably priced (for London) but if you're lucky enough to see/meet the landlady, she'll make your day with her warm welcome and smile.

Blonde, Irish manager was so rude and unwelcoming upon first entry. Turned around and walked straight out. Super disappointing.

I tell ye now what a fine pub in London. You don’t find too many decent ones in London nowadays. Everything great. Except for one thing, the landlady…. She is better than great, if I could roll back the years now!

Hi, hi manager, hi a problem with the staff in oak & p Pastor I am dyslexic learning disability I get nervous when I speak. I don’t speak properly one person think I’m drunk but I’m not drunk the way I speak

Food is always amazing when we go - on this occasion it was great but….. There is a sign outside clearly stating 2 for 1 pizzas on a Monday (that’s why we went) but we were told that the 2 for 1 deal wasn’t on because “there was a new chef” - surely doing extra pizzas would give them practice ?

Missis took me here, probably the best Sunday lunch I’ve had, but of confusion with the order but the owner sorted it and was well worth it, def would come back, the quizz nights are good fun too although busy

I go every couple of weeks for their great Sunday Roast. Very generous chunky slices of good quality beef & several tasty vegetables, Yorkshire Pud & tasty gravy. All the staff are genuinely friendly!

If you like PIZZA you'll love here. Look at my images the visual speaks for itself... they taste as good as they look. Fresh ingredients, sourdough base, perfect quantity of toppings - generous without over load. We had 3 different and all the same great taste, I am salivating at the thought I can't wait to go back. Staff friendly, vibe chilled.

Fantastic pub lovely staff the landlady is excellent with kids. Absolute pleasure every time we go there cannot fault the oak at all The food is delicious and they serve the best pint of Guinness in Islington hands down 🍀

The food was super good! I had the roast from the vegan option and it was delicious. And the sauce was a vice. When I'm back in London I'll be back!

Best Sunday Roast in the area! Just moved to TP 6 months ago, been trying out a couple places but this has been the best so far. Gravy was delicious and flavoursome. Portion sizes were very very good for the price. Only slight criticism was no Sunday sides :( only got 3 roast potatoes so would have been nice to be able to order some on the side but still banging roast lovely garden and venue.

My team and I decided to have a chat and a drink at this pub managing a pub myself for the past 3 years and prior working in a pub I have learnt from my mistakes so when I saw the female manageress using negative attitude towards a female that enter the premises to use their bathroom and found every excuse to watch over this woman while pretending to go about her business was very uncomfortable to see . Why judge people even if they come into use the bathroom as one day they might become your customer. Her attitude towards this female was atrocious ,considering her responsibility and position . if she work for me I would fire her straight away . Her actions lost 8 potential customers this blond scandalmonger intellectually dumb female should stick to glass collecting

Nice pub with both a front and back garden. It’s a small pub but that adds to the atmosphere, inside is all wooden with benches and a proper bar and then the gardens are quirky and well decorated.The music is a good volume and neutral. Food is slightly expensive but where isn’t it in London, but good quality food and something for everyone. What makes this place good is the service who are really helpful and fun. Would definitely recommend

Old fashioned type of pub. No craft beer but a fair range of beers and larger. Food looked good.

Was here for the bingo with a friend. It's a lovely pub and staff were helpful and friendly. But the wine was pretty poor which is such a shame. I will not be hurrying back

Lovely place ,nice pints and a good Sunday roast

The food in this place is very good... when you actually get to taste it. We went once and loved it. Unfortunately, the general service offering is very poor. We have attempted to visit several times after, but we have not served us due to the following reasons: 1. They closed the kitchen early. 2. We went earlier, then they had not opened the kitchen that day. 3. We went on a different day and they couldn't serve us as they were fully booked. 4. We booked and they called us an hour earlier to let us know that they ran out of food. I understand that you cannot host more people than the venue allows and perhaps not to open the kitchen until late, but I really cannot understand how a place that serves food for living, chooses to do it inconsistently and in smaller quantities than required. There's a big administration problem here.

What a lovely place to go for a nice meal and a drink, I had the bangers and mash, oh my god.........it was amazing, those flavours had my tongue salivating after every mouth full. Great staff that actually interact with the customers especially the hugely accommodating landlady, great atmosphere, lovely decor and an overall excellent experience, just stop reading and go already.

They had to close last night, due to a problem in the kitchen ,I didn't have time to finish my drink,but there was no fire alarm sounding just the pubs bell all the people went to the front of the pub and at the back the 1 fire engine turned up

First visit, looked like a nice place to eat good quality food and we weren't disappointed. I had the Traditional Steak and Ale pie which I ate completely, loved the filling. We also enjoyed the Bangers and Mash and the Sirloin Steak.

Good Guinness and nice surroundings. Nice friendly staff. We went back at 10.30 on the Friday of the new kings coronation and was not allowed in as they were closing. I haven't experienced a pub in the UK closing at 19.30 pm on a Friday but this may be the pubs opening hours.

The food and the decoration are great. I had a great pork belly Sunday roast.

Want for a last minute Sunday lunch, booked 45 mins ahead and they are able to fit me in! The pub itself is extremely cool inside! There was a bit of a wait for food, but they were full and I’m sure lots of orders for the toast! The roast itself cost £17, which is on the pricier side so my expectation were high. The roast was Okay! The Yorkshire pudding was soft instead of being crispy which was a huge shame as it’s my favourite part of a roast! The vegetables were cooked nicely and roast potatoes were tasty however again not crispy at all, kind of soft. Let’s talk about the pork belly… HUGE portion! Was very happy when my plate arrived. I did find that as it was so big, it was quite dry other than the very middle (which takes a while to get too as very big piece of pork belly!). The gravy was also very good. I was looking forward to the cauliflower cheese that came with the roast however my plate had around a teaspoon of cauliflower cheese (looked like they had just scraped the scraps out of the bottom of the tray). I first though that maybe they were running out, until my friends plate came with a nice portion of cauliflower cheese (with actual pieces of cauliflower) Overall a good roast, on the pricey side but a decent bit of scran! Unsure if I would return again.

It has been so many years since I entered a pub. I am not a drinker, but I attended the Oak & Pastor on Monday to attend a wake. The landlady was very friendly and bubbly. Also, she was so very accommadating to all our needs. Very clean pub, and the food was amazing and so tasty, too. I would recommend the Oak & Pastor any day over the Lord Palmeston. Give this place a try. I would thoroughly recommend it, and so would the family of the wake.

Had a roast dinner in here the other week. Cooked by a lovely Irish lady. Food was great and very reasonable. Especially as most other places have become so poncey around here… and charge accordingly. Recommended.

Busy pub with garden. Had a selection of beer which unfortunately ran out all too soon. In there on a Sunday and there a was large food gathering

A little hidden gem in the heart of Archway, with great food and the most professional staff! Do not hesitate to pop in, you will not be disappointed!

Have been a few times now and had the Sunday roast. Tried chicken and the lamb. Both was excellent. The atmosphere is always vibrant and chilled. Staff are all polite and friendly. The owner seems to go out of her way to know her customers and has a friendly manner. We'll worth a visit.

We held a dear friends wake in this pub and the staff, manger and customers that did come up were very understanding. They supplied the food for us which was outstanding and not sandwiches which u get at a wake . I go to this pub all the time and have many gatherings in there. Many thanks for making a sad day, a great atmosphere where ppl got to meet after many years and feel loved

I love this pub but when they've run out of things for roasts, you still get charged full price. It’s a bit inconsistent.

Very cozy welcoming pub, great food, had nachos which was huge and totally stuffed us. Came back for Sunday lunch, had the veggie option which was lovely. Highly recommended.

I and my friend have ordered a medium rare steaks here. We got two Well dones, so we asked for replacement. We got two Well dones. I do not know how can you fail to make 4 steaks.

Really nice food, only negative is that they only allocate an hour for a booked table. I understand they need to get through as many tables as possible but making it an hour and a half would take the pressure off a bit, we were asked to leave 50 mins after our booking

Been coming here for a year, best pub in area whether you're after a meal or lively drinks/music later on, all the staff inc landlady are really friendly and welcoming. Sunday roast is unreal good.

Great, no-nonsense pub. You can guess that the food is very tasty and portions are very large as soon as you walk in and see all the tradies in the dining room 👷‍♂️👷‍♂️👷‍♂️ Not many things on the menu will increase your 5-a-day count though (there are hummus and falafel wrap and chicken salad).

Cosy and lovely pub where you can tell attention has been put to every detail. Sunday roast is OFF THE HOOK delicious and BIG.

Beautiful pub with amazing Christmas decorations inside. 2 pints of peroni cost £11.50 which is cheap for this area. Mulled wine was lethal. Will be back soon

Slightly different but lovely 19th century pub with an unusual decor of church pews and confessional booths. The pub has a wonderful open fire for those colder nights, and a nice selection of beers to be had.

Ate here twice diring our vacation because it was just so good! Great food and beer. Great atmosphere. Small and cozy. Be sure to check out the back garden seating area.

Lovely place - cosy candlelit ambience, friendly and welcoming staff, and they serve the best pub roast I've had in ages!

It has a really good atmosphere inside with or without patrons. Lovely decor, interesting people, service was fine, prices seemed cheap for London too. My friend went to the toilet and proclaimed they didn't smell at all which is always a good sign!

We sat in the lovely courtyard at the back of the pub for drinks and a meal. Nice chicken & bacon salad and fish & chips. Polite, friendly staff.

A traditional pub, located within a few minutes walk from Archway Station. It has an intersting decor with some books on the side, a font and a room you could hire called 'vestry'. It has a good selection of beers and offers food options that include a few vegetarian dishes as well. The pub is very good value for money especially in this area where prices can be high. We paid just £11 for fish and chips and £11 for spicy bean burger. I liked their chips in particular. On Sunday apart from a traditional roast, you can have homemade mushroom wellington , which I may try next time 😊 Customer service was excellent! I emailed them a few times in order to amend my booking and find out more information. The replies were prompt and informative. On the day, the service was friendly and efficient. They also have beer garden. The pub is within 15 - 20 minute walk from Highgate Cemetery.

Visited this place and honestly the worst experience I have ever had, I would give this a 0 if I could!!! After waiting 45 minutes for my roast dinner I was told they had no Beef so asked for my money back and asked why didn’t know this 45 minutes before, which I believe is a valid question? The Land lady got in my face I generally thought she was going to wack me one it was a really scary situation. If you looking for a roast with some good customer service this is not the place. Honestly STAY CLEAR

Decent pub, could do with something more interesting to drink than Neck Oil, but otherwise I had a happy afternoon here. Worth a visit.

Delicious roast dinner in great atmosphere- staff were knowledgeable and kind about coeliac disease and enjoyed a delicious gluten free roast dinner with gravy with friends with no fuss. Wide range of options available and everyone I was with enjoyed their food. Recommended for those with allergies and without!

I'm a regular at this pub, due to it's location. Always have a fantastic night here, staff lovely, very helpful, great atmosphere, good food - reasonably well priced for what is served. Great for families too and menu offers a fab Sunday roast. Great location short walk to Archway tube station.

Food took hours and I mean literally 2 hours from ordering to it being at the table. Even though we were a big party there was hardly anyone else in the pub ordering food. Safe to say we cancelled the following evening.

Love to be here. It is the one at my door step. Always take friends for a dirnk here. Light atmosphere, reasonable price and spacious inside and outside
