Great pub, Leighton behind the bar is so friendly and a real asset to this great little pub. It's got a friendly local boozer feel, despite not being in the countryside. The selection of beers are great, and the opportunity to pull up a still and chat to the barman is brilliant.

We stopped for a beer after a concert *Kasabian. There we made direct contact with the barman and 2 other nice people and got into a great conversation. Unfortunately, we couldn't chat with them any longer. Maybe we'll meet again there or at the Fusion or in Dortmund! All the best!

Great little craft beer tap room. Cask beer didn’t look too exciting (I don’t know that it wasn’t, just didn’t hook me) so went for a keg beer which was truly delicious. Bar man was excellent. Bar has a great layout / proper craft bar vibe. Looked to be plentiful supply of cans to take out. The beer I had was a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for - and it was excellent beer so well worth it.

Wife and I called in for a couple of pints last weekend. Really pleasant atmosphere with some good ales on cask. I had a summer fruit flavoured stout which was very refreshing. Dog friendly is an added bonus and the knowledge of the barman (possibly landlord?) was of a high standard. Excellent customer service. The only downside was the selection on offer. As there is no craft ale shops I can find in the area, it would have been nice to have an area with a selection from different breweries (Tiny Rebel, Vocation, Turning Point etc).

Usually a great real ale pub but currently due to COVID-19 its been converted into an amazing off license full of the weird and wonderful. Expect small batch artisan brews from around the world rather than mass produced drinks, piled high and ever changing. Check out their Facebook page for new offerings each week. The nature of the beers they sell means its not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

One of my favourite places to drink, has a good selection of real beers and cider. No lager in sight except for one bottle of craft in the fridge. They always have really top quality beer, some on cask and some keg. The cheese and onion cobs are quite frankly ridiculous, so big!

It’s nice to have somewhere local where we can sit with friends that isn’t just a pub pub. There’s so many different ales and craft beers to choose from you won’t struggle to find one if you’re in to that sort of thing. My father in law only drinks lager and there’s even something for him. All bar staff are lovely and welcoming. We are so luck to have this on our doorstep.

Genuinely was surprised by how cosy and nice this little pub is. Everything on tap was interesting and tasty, none of that corporate garbage. To see honest I have to drop a start only because of how small the establishment is; it only has 3 tables. But if that doesn't bother you consider this a 5 star.

we work in the aylestone area of leicester and was so pleased when this place opened as we are real ale fans and use there other pub the blue boar which is great but sadly the alestone started very good with good beers and snacks 9am till 9pm with great chat and people then they put in larger on draught and also as time went on became a playground for a local group with kids thinking they own the place also the snacks and some nice locals deserted the place such a shame as was a special little pub i hope the owners can revamp the place back to its former self A REAL ALE PUB FOR GOOD CONVERSATION AND GOOD BEER also please stop people bringing in bags of chips etc lets have the old place and values back

I was excited when this new bar opened up round the corner from me. It shares the same internal wood facade as its sister pub " The Blue Boar". Initially this caused it to literally heat up like a sauna, but that's fixed now, and if you're in, or near Aylestone, drop in. Ever changing selection of real ales, bar snacks, decent wines. If you're by car, find a side street, any bus down the Aylestone road will drop you outside the door. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and happy to let you taste before you buy. What we with Black horse 3 minutes walk away , Aylestone is a fantastic place for a drink or 4.But let's be clear, this is a pub!

This was a surprising discovery. Never expected such authentic Indian taste. I can say this is the tastiest Pav Bhaji I had so far in US. The pakoras, cutting chai and curries are amazing. Definitely give it a try. Especially for those whose tastebuds are missing Indian food badly.

Terrible. A simple order of fried eggs was too hard for them and they came out looking obliterated. My partners food looked equally as disappointing. They advertise desserts which I guess was the sad stale looking brownie on the counter.
