The Acorn - Commonwood in Wrexham

Food was delicious, highly recommended the burgers and salt & pepper fries- chicken burger was so juicy and beef burger very tasty. You pay for the quality you receive. Still cheaper than a pub/ restaurant meal and set in a lovely location.

Really disappointed with our experience at breakfast with Santa. Arrived at 10am was advised we’ll be over to take drinks order and take you to see Santa. Waited half an hour no server came so asked if they would take drinks order. Took order waited 40 mins for drinks again had to ask where they were. Came over at 11.20 saying food is on it way. Still no food at 11.40 kids restless hungry decided to leave and asked for partial refund this was denied feel totally robbed. No one came to take us to see Santa so made our way over had 5 minutes with him and was given a £2.50 selection box. The whole experience cost £100 for 5 adults and 3 kids I would say there was maximum 50 people so can’t blame the volume of customer. We’ve popped to another local restaurant with double the people and breakfast arrived within 15 mins.

Be prepared to be disappointed had to walk out after 1hr 40 mins no breakfast not even any communication which is worse offered to pay for drinks and Santa visit and wanted money back for food would not give it back. Sat in a ripped tent freezing too to top it off.

Came here for few days break with the children, great place very friendly, welcoming and clean. Lots of out door space for the children to run round safely. The accommodation was perfectly and pods were cosy and clean. The food was excellent , will definitely be booking again 😊
