We escaped the pretentious crass atmosphere of the Bister Village to this heavenly oasis of a pub, The Acorn. We had the fish and chips, the food arrived quickly and the portions were big, OMG !!! this was the Best fish and chips I have ever had, and I have had fish and chips all over the country, from Scotland to Rick Stein's restaurant in Cornwall, and this was better than Rick's, it was so tasty and cooked to perfection. Made the long trip from London worth it. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and cosy. I will definitely be recommending The Acorn to everyone and will most certainly be back with friends and family.

Had dinner there when I was down on my holiday with my family and I enjoyed it so much I had fish and chips best fish I had in ages

Absolutely fantastic, we had great service from both staff who served us - very friendly and talkative, smiling which I always like to see as hate going in somewhere and they are miserable and rude, these members of the team were awesome - we were welcomed straight the way and nothing was too much trouble - had teas and need loads of sugar (as we all know sachets are only half sugar) and was given more than enough, bec was fantastic from the get go and made sure we were comfortable and everything was ok…. **note I couldn’t see the table number as wasn’t on the table - number is on the side of the wooden menu holder … bec knew exactly which table we were just by us pointing, lovely we will be back xxx

Amazing find right opposite Bicester Village Today was sunny and car park empty so a cheeky fish finger ciabatta and chips in the garden soaking up the rays . Very helpful and pleasant staff And as long as you are a customer - register your car - 4hrs free parking - bargain as if you are going shopping food will be needed at some point 😉 Thanks team for making me feel very welcome , solo for lunch

In search of a bit of sun, my partner and I visited the garden for a drink. Getting hungry, we decided to eat in. Good choice....delicious food, service with a smile, and of course the sunshine, which of course The Acorn can't take credit for lol

We visited just after the gold cup weekend so I can understand why they had very little of the menu available. There was a coach of other patrons that had obviously pre ordered whilst we were there, so having 1 member of staff to serve drinks, take orders and take meals out is poor planning. Fair play to the guy he did his best.

Molly was really helpful and friendly. Food was good, arrived quickly, nice family evening.

What a lovely pub with brilliant and friendly staff! We visited The Acorn as a family, my Partner and I shared the Nachos as a Starter (the crisps looked homemade), I then had the Katsu Curry Chicken and my Partner had the Steak which was cooked to her perfection. All the food was homemade and very reasonably priced! We sat outside as the weather was gorgeous, the waiter and bar tender was extremely friendly and polite! Must say that this pub is dog friendly inside and out! Will be visiting again!!!

I come to the Acorn once a week with my friend Mr Bevan he also visits with his family I find it so welcoming the food is spot on freshly cooked and the staff are very helpful and kind I must mention Rebecca she is such a nice person always friendly and looks after us she is a credit to your pub always welcoming we look forward to our next visit

We have been to this pub on quite a few occasions, the food never fails always delicious great portion sizes and great prices. Atmosphere is always excellent and staff are always friendly and helpful. We will keep returning 👌👍

**Terrible experience!** The food was awful and completely disappointing. The burgers were inedible—burnt and dry. The chicken in barbecue sauce had a strange, unpleasant taste, and the salad was far from fresh. Definitely not a place I would recommend or visit again. We spent 45£ for this awful food

Amazing food. We started with the platter of camemberet for sharing. Friggin heck, that was amazing. Then moved onto their specials for the main. Stunning. Added to that they say they are dog friendly as many places do, but how many have a dog menu? 10 out 10

I came by on Monday mid-afternoon because I was waiting for an appointment nearby. The staff were just so wonderful and accomodating. They could have been rude about me just asking for some water and not getting anything to eat, but instead they offered a top up and were so friendly. Very highly recommend!

Pleasantly surprised at just how good the food is here!. Thought it would be a pretty mundane pub lunch, but turned out to be a far better experience. The nachos in particular had one of the best salsas I have tasted and the sharing platter was substantial. Pork belly…..wow, just fantastic. The staff were genuine and friendly too. All in all a really good experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend…👊

I decided to host my work leaving party at this location as it’s perfectly located next to bicester village. Around 25 people turned up, & from start to finish it was the smoothest event that I’ve ever hosted - all thanks to the attentive staff and calm atmosphere. The food was a complete hit, anything from main courses - the sides of gorgeous rosemary salted chips, it was honestly perfect and I can’t sing their praises enough! The tables were all spotless and had fresh red roses in dainty glasses which was a lovely touch. Thank you to all the team at the Acorn, you are all stars!

After deciding to stay an extra night in Bicester we thought we would dine at The Acorn before heading back to our hotel . The member of staff that was chatting away with us had such a wonderful warm personality. She also recommended the pie option which we went for & it was very nice . As for the older member of staff with the constant annoying whistle. Firstly he needs to be educated in pint measures. Both our pints were under measured. Secondly he needs to taught basic Personality skills. He was soo rude . When we were leaving we went to his till to pay to avoid missing our bus. He just ignored us forcing us to go to another till. We ended up missing our bus . Don’t think we will be frequenting The Acorn anytime soon.

The staff members are really friendly, Mark and the other young guy , lovely conversations and great atmosphere.

My name is NOT Danielle Carvery menu was not great 1 piece of broccoli no gammon for the option had to buy that seperately was not with the carvery menu, yorkshires looked absolutely amazing but tasted bland desserts not much better Not many options ,not much on the plate Turkey just put me off the rest of the plate due to being very watery. Obviously this wasn't the plan it was a back up due to other restaurants being fully booked . Others with me was not impressed cauliflower and gravy in a metal tin taking up half the plate could've got more veggies with it instead I would've preferred personally .

Exceeded expectations Ordered food at 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and were warned that there might be quite a wait. Food arrived in 20 minutes and was just as expected. Good hearty steak and ale pie.

Great value while they have the winter menu options! The barman Ian is always smiley, pleasent and chilled. We go twice a month to eat and very rearly have any issues.

the place has horrible “employees” rude and disrespectful one of them accused us for a mess we clearly hadn’t made then proceeded to be disrespectful while cleaning it meanwhile we were sitting and it or whatever that human thing was walked away leaving us with a dirty table.. nobody came to clean or ask if we were ready to order and the food was highly priced for its horrible quality i don’t know why people are lying in the reviews

This was my first visit, and I have to say, my husband was right—this place is fantastic! He had told me how great it was, and it certainly lived up to the praise. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was absolutely perfect—crispy batter, tender fish, and full of flavor. My husband had the gammon, which he really enjoyed, and we both finished our meal with the cheesecake. It was rich, creamy, and the perfect way to end a lovely meal. The staff were brilliant—polite, professional, and attentive throughout, which made the experience even better. For a first visit, I couldn’t have asked for more—delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. 5 stars all the way! I can’t wait to come back.

Our 1st visit, first impressions on passing by it looked inviting and suited our visit and budget. On entry there was no welcome greeting dispite there only being a handful of other guests already seated. We approached the bar and entered our car reg and thought we would let someone know we were there for our reservation. There was the chef out the front trying to help an older gentleman with the till or booking computer I wasn't sure but it seemed like we were intruding. I don't feel the chef should be out front helping. We were instructed we could Pick were we wanted to sit seem as it was almost empty which was my initial concern a pub and restaurant in a prime location next to Bicester village. But we decided to stay. We took our drinks and picked a table then that was the end of what ever customer service there was we picked our choices went to find someone to take our order. Again the till proved to be the sticking point. Food came quickly. To be fair the food was OK a typical chain pub meal nothing fancy or to write home about. Very little interaction, untill we went to pay when I think it was the owner was then behind the bar he made it feel less clinical and more welcoming on leaving the restaurant. Shame there was no atmosphere.

This is an unusual review in that we did not dine here on this occasion. But this was due to excellent customer service. When we arrived we spoke with James at the bar who was welcoming and personable. He explained to us that a full coach load of 45 visitors to the shopping village had just arrived and that might put some pressure on the kitchen so we might expect a delay. He went into the kitchen to enquire knowing full well we might not stay and indeed the projected wait was not within our time scale so we chose elsewhere. He could have just accepted our custom and said nothing. We will definitely dine here next time.

Fast friendly service, varied menu, with us opting for the Sunday roast 😋. My only grip is that Green King advertised discounts for blue light staff, but you need to get a code before visiting, no discounts

Popped in here for a meal before our journey south. Staff were so attentive and friendly, even got a rendition of an Elvis song from a very tuneful barman. Food was hot and delicious 😋

Came here with two friends after a day shopping at bicester village. We ordered drinks at the bar and were served by a very rude dark haired woman, for reference she had a nose piercing. My friend has a dairy allergy so while at the bar I requested either a dairy free or vegan menu for her. The woman behind the bar laughed in my face at this request before turning to her colleague and continuing to gossip about me, whilst I was stood right in front of me! We then ordered our food and waited for at least 45 mins before it arrived with no remorse from staff. Staff acted as if they didnt want us there, not responding when we said thank you. Food was very mediocre. Will not be returning.

An excellent Chicken & Pulled Ham pie at a very reasonable price. Swift and friendly service. Genuinely dog friendly as opposed to dog tolerant! We were made to feel very welcome.

Started off realy well staff were friendly and helpful. Just a shame about the food what was unedible and it tasted deap fried. Chicken nugets where unedible and the pie would be good as a door stop.

As soon as we stepped into the establishment, we were greeted with Ian. He was absolutely brilliant with the boys and keeping them entertained and very helpful when we asked for something. The food was average but you get what you pay for, it filled a hole and bonus the kids cleared there plates so winner winner. You have certainly dropped lucky to have Ian as front of house his wit along with friendly approach is something you can't seem find these days. Keep smiling Ian your one of a kind!

After a day of being dragged around over the road, the welcome from the cheerful chap was very much appreciated. Service was excellent. The food was good. Will use again if in the area.
