Had a end of holiday meal here, the food was superb, possibly the best curry I have eaten, the staff were super nice and is definitely worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed

Tharik was on duty and made my wife and i very welcome. The food was absolutely fabulous, I had a hot Balti my wife had a chicken Tika Balti Korma, she doesn't like the hot stuff. Both dishes were delightful, the service was excellent even though they were very busy.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy the food tonight. The food was not particularly hot. There was a lack of meat in the mixed tikka starter. The biryani did not come with the vegetable curry sauce and the chicken in the chicken kohrahi was a little over cooked and there was a lack of peppers. Such a shame as the food is usually of a much higher standard.

A surprise visit from my sons and their ladies, to celebrate a big birthday of mine. Decided to order a takeaway and collect. Collection time was on cue. Various dishes, chicken Korma's, Byriani's, Tikka Massalas, Poppadoms, assorted naan's, rices, Sagaloos, onion Bhajis. Everyone was very happy with the excellent quality and quality of their dishes. As per previous meals here in the past, very good as always.

Would be useful if they answered the phone.

Very tasty food Chicken in the Balti was tender and full of flavour, the Balti sauce was also full of flavour, Chicken tikka was the same, couldn't fault it. staff are friendly and helpful aswell Definitely recommend.

Food was bland to say the least and the decor was dated, menus sticky and when going to the toilet it appears there is a room that is just used for junk and looks untidy. We hadn't even got our starters when a group of around 15 people (mostly late teens/early twenties) came in after having a skilful elsewhere. (It was a Friday and people are entitled to have fun!) However we had met as a family who don't see eachother often and it was impossible to hear the person next to you or across from you when trying to chqt due to the sheer volume of the other table. When one of our party shared when we paid that it was an unpleasant experience, we were told that easyjet wouldn't give us a refund on a flight to magaluf with a stag party.... pretty sure easyjet wouldn't have let them on in the first place, well, a few or them at least! To make it even worse, one of the women at the table when asked to keep the noise down shared more than once that this was why they requested that they were upstairs, not down with everyone else! Absolutely won't be back. Poor customer service, unpleasant atmosphere. At least they tried to tell them to be quiet!

My favourite indian restaurant when visiting Tavistock 😋 I've always booked a table in advance and my friend regularly has takeaways from here. Cannot fault the service and the food is top notch- plenty of it too! Highly recommend!

Disappointed. I thought this was the best in Tavistock. Ordered recently but all dishes were too sweet. Even the kids complained their korma was very sweet. Dishes were very watery, not the thick sauces. Naan was coconut instead of garlic and very sweet. Waited 45 mins. Very disappointing.

Friendly staff and great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Had a range of food between us all and everything wonderful.

Food was fine, service and prices as well. Sál and pepper in the little white containers was very sticky, probably from previous customers.

Did not disappoint, We were recommended to take a visit for food. We are on holiday and travelled just under 12 miles to collect our take away, it was full of flavour, hot & well worth the the trip all round. ☺️

Having experienced the fine food here, via collections previously. Thought we'd seek a delivery. Very easy online system, order delivered around an hour later, by a nice fella, with our meals in well insulated containers. Poppadoms, various naans, Korma's, Biryani's, Sag Paneer, Sag Aloo, Mushroom Bhaji, rices, were all excellent, still hot. A very good experience and the family thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

We have always had great food here. Today we had a takeaway of prawn Dhansak, chicken Dhansak, onion baji, bhindi baji and rice. All were excellent.

Ordered a set meal for two. It was inedible. Chutney very hot. Onion barges so overcooked they were hard. Chicken tikka starter tough. As for the two main courses. Lamb jalfrasi inedible. The meat was so tough we couldn’t even cut it. The chicken tikka masala was tough just meat in a sauce. The sag aloo looked OK However the potato was undercooked and hard. A total disaster. A total waste of money.

Three strikes and you out!! Made an order tonight set menu for two it was disgusting, the lamb tikka masala don't know where the lamb came from it was like boot leather, the chicken tikka masala wasn't sweet and creamy as you would expect a tikka masala to be, the rice was dry, the potato and spinach dish was wet and watery, the onion bhaji were over cooked, the only good things were the nan bread and the poppadoms oh yeah some yoghurt and mint sauce would have been good instead of just mango, so for just short of £30 with delivery charge and card processing free I won't be ordering again anytime soon in the future. I would like to say it's the first bad experience but as the headline says this is the third time, bad yo Aladdin's in Plymouth it is for a quality takeaway.

If you are looking for authentic Indian food then this is the place for you. Delicious tandoori dishes as well as a huge selection of traditional Indian dishes. Our greeting and service were friendly and welcoming. The service was unrushed and the quality of the food was brilliant. This is obviously a very popular restaurant for phone services/pick-ups. Yes, the constant phone ringing was a little distracting, but it just goes to show how popular this place is. We don't often get to visit Tavistock, but when we do, we will always make a Bee-line for this place. Thanks for being welcoming and the food was tasty beyond belief. See you next time. Amazing experience here at Thariks. From the word go Enamel looked after us and ensured we had a good evening. The food was exceptional and flavour was on point. For a table of 6 we were catered for in every aspect. Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Will certainly visit again.

Very good Indian with all the usual dishes in the menu. Deshi Naga Chicken certainly lived up to the description “very hot”, as I like it. Service was excellent.

Our first visit and food was excellent. We asked for our meals to be spicy and they were but also delicious, both starters and mains. We live in Devon but about 40 minutes away, but we will definitely be returning. Service also great. I’m Asian so very fussy but this restaurant did not disappoint.

Always liked the people at thariks, very friendly, but after paying nearly £50 for a delivery at the weekend the food was awful and all the sauces looked the same base gravy, absolute rubbish, cannot wait for a proper Bangladeshi chef to turn up in town, all we got for our money was painful tummy's and multiple visits to the bathroom, won't be going there again

Wasn’t the best I had poppadoms that you could bend and they sprung back in shape, soggy nan breads, soggy chips overall I won’t be going back..

Takeaway - we phoned up at 5 asking what delivery times are like and got told 6 when the food finally arrived it was 7.25 and I had gone to bed by then due to taking certain medications, my husband ate his and the food was Luke warm and he had to heat it up in the microwave! There was hardly any sauce and it was dry and just about edible. Won’t be ordering from here again, was majorly disappointed.

We booked a table at Tharik's whilst staying in Tavistock and working on Dartmoor. Really friendly, welcoming team, and the food was excellent. Mixed Kebab starters, Lamb Tikka Masala, Lamb Jalfrezi and a Chicken Tikka Chilli Balti. Nans all round. Superb! And the large spoonful of Naga Chilli Paste to "spice up" my mains was volcanic. Will definitely go back when we return.

We usually have a take away, but this time as family were visiting, we decided to eat in and were not disappointed. The food, as always very tasty and the service very good. This is always on our recommend list of places to eat and it will still be on our list. Ps they will amend dishes to suit your taste, hotter, less spicy, less sweeter, just tell them at the time of ordering they are more than happy to accommodate.

Paid £5 delivery fee to get delivered 5 mins up the road, but for convenience thought fine. Then waited an hour and a half for it to turn up cold... Did it sit there for 30 mins before delivery? I'm literally 5 mins away. Forgot the pickled onions for the poppadoms, instead gave me 2 chutneys which had so much vinger in it, you got whiplash after 1 bite. I've also never seen mint sauce so watery before either. Chips were an absolute soggy mess, and inedible. Chicken tikka masala was bland and watery, chicken in it was so over cooked it was like bullets. The meats in the tandoori mixed grill were so dry you needed a drink after every bite. Even the breads were disgusting. 1 of which was a plain nan, but a store bought one is nicer...how do you mess up a plain nan? It just tasted weird and was severely undercooked. £35 in the bin. Never again.

Takeaway - a few items on the order were not given to us and two dishes were incorrect. Found this out when we returned home, 10 miles later. Phoned, was told they’d refund it and took my account details. Advised it would be credited Monday. It never arrived. Would not recommend.

We generally have take aways from here. But either way, if you eat in or out the food is always delicious. The flavours make your taste buds sing. Well worth a visit if you want great food and friendly service.

A family meal, my Vegetable Dansak contained Potatoes, although potatoes aren’t needed with rice. I couldn’t see, or taste any vegetables, I did ask what Vegetables were supposed to be in the meal and was told potatoes also some other veg which I didn’t appear...

Ottimo ristorante indiano, anche se il locale era stranamente vuoto. I piatti piccanti sono molto piccanti, però i camerieri vi avvisano. Porzioni piccole, ma il sapore è sempre buono e nel complesso ogni piatto è molto soddisfacente. Prezzi un po' alti per la quantità di cibo.

We went to Tharick’s on a suggestion from a fellow American traveler. We got multiple dishes for takeaway and found it quite delicious. A special mention to the garlic dahl, OMG! I especially liked n°51, the Dhansak: a hot, sweet and sour delight! Unfortunately, the packaging was not biodegradable.

On this occasion just a take away. Whether you eat in with excellent service and a nice atmosphere the food experience is just as amazing. Great menu choice and you won't be disappointed. Best Indian restaurant in town! 👍

We visited for Valentines night. They don't usually open on Mondays so we were really pleased they made the acception. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was lovely. They also made an effort to decorate the restaurant with all things Valentines....we loved it.

We compared the menu in the window to a curry house closer to where we were staying and it was more detailed with important factors such as ingredients (allergies) and ratings of spiciest. We certainly weren’t disappointed as food delicious and service superb.

While the curries were average at best, there is no forgiving the state in which they arrived. All crammed in one small bag, two of the curries had split open and contaminated the other food. Disgusting. Could of easily been avoided by packing them correctly in two bags or putting them in a box.

Not the best Indian restaurant experience for me. House special byriani was anything but special, the vegetable curry tasted more like a bland korma. The server upsold us 2 poppadoms with standard tray of pickles (even insisted that we needed 4 poppadoms but we declined) and neglected to mention they were chargeable (complimentary everywhere else I've eaten) and they appeared on the bill @ £5.10! When queried the patron snatched the bill from my hand 😶 and returned with the amount deducted - apparently it was my fault for not reading the menu properly 🥴 - he did calm down once I'd politely put my point across but I still felt disturbed by his previous unnecessarily offensive attitude. I won't be back. 👎

We live near okehampton and went to tavistock for a dog walk, followed by a meal in an Indian restaurant, we are so happy we chose this restaurant the food was excellent as what's the service, I was particularly impressed when the owner pointed out I needn't order a vegetable side dish as my partner was having a biriyani and one came with her meal I give this restaurant 10 out of 10

Really lovely Sunday night curry for 4. Delicious and succulent chicken curries, poppadoms and naan with service above and beyond. Had left a jumper in there and on our walk back to our car down the high street we see a member of staff driving around looking for us to give it back! Had a very lovely evening and would definitely recommend it to anyone in Tavistock

Refuse to go here any more as a matter of principle after spotting their delivery vehicle speeding at 60mph+ through local villages, overtaking others adhering to the 30mph limit. Here's a tip, if you're going to drive in an utterly moronic and downright dangerous manner, don't do it in a fully sign written vehicle that's easily identifiable.
