Thakers in Hounslow

This place has seriously gone downhill. Most of all the staff are RUDE RUDE RUDE. There’s so much more options now. People of Hounslow take a walk along Stains Road new place Chaat & Go is good. Staff amazing and great service. It’s a small take-away only place but I prefer it head over heels over Thakkers.

Arrogant and egoistic owner who is against equality. He organized a diwali evening party and says rules need to be followed by queuing for buffet, but does not follow the queue rule for his friends and family. Also, does not replace items missing in the buffet. Some got, many did not get all the food. Thakers is gone downhill due to this owner. Do not bother going there unless the owner is humbled and he has learnt his lesson.

Omg to the waiter was she so rud e told me to be quick quick. Omg 26 sep at 1.13. Awful. Food is amazing but serve nope Usually it’s fine

Just came back from Thakers. Food and service was excellent! Definitely visit again 🙂 There is no parking but can park in Asda

This Indian restaurant is my favourite and I always visit it whenever I am shopping around in Hounslow Shopping Centre.This is only vegetarian restaurant. It’s small nice and clean but above all the food is not highly spicy but moderately spicy and really tasty and that’s mine main priority. So far at my every visit I never felt disappointed.Actually there is a good selection of restaurants in the area but this is my favourite. The prices are average so nothing to complain about.

The worst Panipuri I’ve ever had… the filling was pea sized with very little chutney… not recommended

Good quality and choice of Indian vegetarian food from snacks to main meals, without the over use of oil or grease. They could do with being more environmental conscious and not use so much plastic with no recycling options. Disappointing on this front!

Good food. Lunchtime thali. Tasty, hot, flavoursome. Delicious. Good range of vegetarian choices. Small seating area inside.

It was great experience, clean and tidy , great customer services , delicious food and chatney , Tables with glasses and ancient pictures beneath , it look like history of some people or some incidents , defiantly ask with staff next time , highly recommended and average priced .

Really unhappy with the customer service. They got my order wrong and was told this would be rectified to only find out that they will not get the correct order to me. Telling me that they gave me what I requested when it clearly wasn’t ( it’s like telling someone they gave you coffee when you got tea) they proceeded to tell me that I should order something else next time as if it’s my fault that the chef got my order wrong. Won’t be back again as this is not the first time this has happened.

We ordered a Thali and paneer roll. Both dishes were bland and tasteless, We particularly asked for tarla daal to be made bit hotter, but instead received so mild with some chopped green chillies added on the top. Not the same food as before even a couple sitting next to us were not happy with their food. Shame to see standard has gone down...

Recently visited Thakers and ordered several items to take away. The lady serving looked like she didn't want to be there and was quite rude. We waited over 30 mins for the food with at least 5 other customers getting their food before us. When asked as to the reason for the delay, we were given ridiculous excuses and brushed off as causing a nuisance. Lessons learned. Stay away if you're expecting good service.

This place has an amazing cholle bhature & mango lassi . My daughter loves cholle bhature at this place and she is a great fan of Masala chai . We live nearby so it’s an excellent place to visit for lazy Sunday b’fast 😀.

the best Indian street food ever! gives the likes of Dishoom a run for it’s money. would 10/10 recommend, partial to the thali and the dhaibatata puri !

Ordered dahi puri take away and when reached home came with only yoghurt no chutney or sauces, 6 small puris empty with hardly any stuffing some 1 to 2 pomegranate seeds for £4.50. Too expensive quality not worth.😂 Never would recommend to anyone nor visit again.

Dont bother as it is company policy only Masala tea with sugar take it or leave it.AS for their aloo parantha dont waste your money poor quality atta and parantha with no taste basically they should stick to Maharashtrian food and let the North Indians do the cooking.Even the chai wallah on the street asks with or without sugar.

We've been visiting Thakers ever since it opened and it's become one of our favourite treats in the town centre, even catering for our cravings during lockdown via delivery. From the moment you enter you can feel the love that is missing in so many larger restaurants; Thakers is casual, friendly and emblematic of the blend of British and Indian culture that is one of Hounslow's strong points. Other diners often talk to you because of the casual seating arrangement and there are so many tasty vegetarian options that you'll want to come back and try more. My personal favourite is the dahi puri; it puts a smile on my face every time. It's worth taking the time to find the shop down its side street because while there's a lot of competition in Hounslow, Thakers still stands out as a real gem years after we first walked through their doors.

Really Tasty and amazing food. Lovely and efficient service. My regular “go to” for Indian food. The masala tea is soothing and makes you feel happy. Thank you so much.

Honestly divine food... we shared samosa chaat, pav bhaji and chole bhature and masala fries.. loved every dish!!! Gutted we couldn't eat in, but will look forward to that after covid restrictions are lifted. Definitely vegetarian food for the soul..! My carnivorous husband certainly didn't miss meat in the food. Its outstanding and can't wait to go back.

Fantastic food ! Lifted up my Sunday morning ! Chole bhature is recommended for sure and so is Puri bhaji .

Been twice in the last couple of weeks. The service is good and they are maintaining the cleaning required. The food was delicious and outstanding. Enjoyed both meals.

I bought the paneer wrap with a mango lassi. Shocking food. Portions sizes are very small, and the filling inside was tasteless. In addition to that the mango lassi was the best thing about the whole meal however in 3 sips it was over.

I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. I went with high ambition. This is the first time I have wasted money on food. It has made me want to be a meat eater again. I would rather lick a rock. I got the paneer grill wrap it was Sabzi in roti. I want back. I hope i didn’t offend anyone but I’m really upset and effected my mental health.

This has become my favorite place for Indian food now. I come here very often. The food is just amazing and there's wide range of different items. Everything I have ever tried here is just delicious.

The chilli cheese paratha was very tasty. Masala tea is the best. The staff is very helpful. Been here lots of times with friends,family,business,solo.and couples. Everybody loved the food. Have recommended lots fo people to visit. Jaswant

Always Excellent and quality food and best tea. Very good and friendly staff. My wife and I come here whenever in Hounslow. Simple and pleasent decoration. Neat and tidy. Love their tables imbedded with family history. Will return again soon.

Typical Gujarati joint with normal Gujju snacks etc. Nothing we tried was anything to write home about. Very basic stuff and a lot of the snacks fried from frozen. Not my choice at all!

Good Indian veg food. Fast service, tasty Gujerati veg food. The Bombay sandwich thatI had was tasty. The aloo paratha was good as well. The masala tea was excellent. The staff were friendly & helpful. The food was not too spicy. Which was to my taste. This place is worth a visit.

Female server (with glasses) is a real let down here.Ordering food is a mission for her.You only get half your order.No napkins - have to request them.No people skills whatsoever and just down right rude.In fact, I’ve stopped going there because of her.Thakkers you need to train her or get rid. She’s not doing you any favours whatsoever!

Tiny cafe, spotlessly clean. All good and a lovely informal feel to this teeny place tucked just off the high street.AND the food is WOW!Delicate crisp breads, incredible samosas, mouthwatering Dahls and so so much more (try the little traditional puri do). Thali and anything you could possibly want at really, even fresh lime drinks made to order perfect on a hot day to rehydrate. Great prices, simplicity at it's best..and served with a smile and obvious care.Fed-up with Chicken korma and Rogan Josh? Thnis is THE place. I dare you

I order on Uber and visit this place as often as I can. The food is always tasty and customer service is amazing .

Straight to the point, the tea was amazing! Although, the prices seem to be more on the higher side, based on the quality of food, cleanliness, service and delivery time, I'd say it's completely worth it. It is in the center of Hounslow high Street, behind Paddy power. Completely vegetarian; not even egg! I'd say you would find it pleasant.

This little gem is a hidden gold mine for Vegans. Most of the menu dishes can be made Vegan and they are displayed on the menu. The service was friendly. Anthony guided me through the various food choices.

The chaat and dahi puri were both too sweet, nimbu paani lukewarm, the waiter was very unhelpful and rude, refused to exchange the dahi puri without any masala. Used to be a nice place...not anymore

I regularly buy tea from Thakers. Lately the quality and taste of the tea has dropped drastically. Very disappointed and I doubt I’ll make a visit especially to buy tea from this place.

I've been coming here a number of times now having tried all the other vegetarian Indian restaurants in Hounslow.

What is there to say, your menu is perfect, food quality is amazing, tasty delicious authentic and home made flavours. Thankful for your partnership with Deliveroo. Shame you aren’t a proper eat in restaurant which offers a buffet, however keep doing what you’re doing.

Of all vegetarian places to eat in Hounslow, Thakers is the best , all food at reasonable price and so flavoursome.I really enjoyed pav bhaji and my wife has so much choice. Limu paani is like you get in India. I love the fact it it’s alway clean and fresh .

I love Thakers, it is genuinely my favourite restaurant. We have been coming for several years now. Quality of the food is always fantastic, with consistent flavour and presentation.

We had tried pretty much all dosa shop in Hounslow and I can confirmed that Thakers got the best Aloo Puri in town! The other things you must try when you at this restaurant is " Chilli Chip/ Masala Chip" so so good.

Well the title says it all, the breaks in between was the licking of the fingers, yes the food is that good, compared to the myriad Indian food places strewn along Hounslow. The thing that made my day was the order taker at the counter, who genuinely has a bubbly feel to her and who loves her job to the core(forgot to get her name). The second thing that stood out was the food delivery lift, something out of a tomb raider pulley system. All in all a clean, hygienic and an awesome place with music blaring out loud(tone down the music a bit).

Having ’vegology’ in hounslow and loving it, decided to try their sister place ‘ thakers’ for lunch. So much of the food looked enticing . opted for the samosa chaat (4.50). Vibrant and full of flavour , see my photo

It was after a gap of year we visited recently couple of times. Taste has improved a lot and service is good. We had Thali which is very tastey and there is a good choice of Lassi, Limbu Pani (Lemon water). It reasonable clean. Accessibility is a bit of issue, wheel chair users have to negotiate one step. There is no ramp available with restaurant. recent visit we saw two wheel chair users visited and had to take help from others to get in to restaurant. It will be great place if management can arrange a ramp making it more inclusive and friendly.

The new additions to the menu is excellent. The quality and the service is brilliant. The logo and the crispy bhajia were great. The sag and maki ki roti is a good addition. I only wish that the sag was not that chilli hot. The masala tea to finish the meal was what was needed.

Good quality food, quick service, hygenic place. Does the job a takeway place is expected of. We had ordered pitta pizza, chaat, and chilli paneer.

The food is very bland and tasteless. The magic is the sauce, once again the Tamarind! the red tangy homemade Tamarind Sauce is what makes this restaurant work. The Tamarind sauce invention is the magical, without it the food is very bland indeed.

Very clean and good veg food. Place is small but beautiful. Their Aloo Paratha is very delicious. Good options available for lunch.

Have tried many restaurants in London but this seems to be a Vegetarian paradise where food is tasty and presentation is also good. But comparing to its peers nearby it is a bit on expensive side.

quite a new experience for indian fast food- wait for free seating and make an order. polystyrene dishes so you can dispose them when finished. ultimately the food is good, authentic tasting if anything toned down somewhat regarding chilli and spices. the thali is good, roti is thin and lovely, cheese and chilli toastie is nice, and masala chips were plentiful.

I'm here all the time! Just love your food and the atmosphere. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm always raving about Thakers to friends and family. I was born and brought up in Hounslow and Thakers is my favourite restaurant in the whole of London! I'm not veggie, but I might as well be. Spot on - food, price, music & the cool vibe. I went there for brunch with family !! This place is very clean and relaxing. There is self service and they provide food in disposables.

We went to Thakers after an airport drop off for a quick dinner, We're not familiar with the area so found the restaurant to be a bit out of the way and would not have found it if we didn't have google maps. We visited just after 8pm and found it empty except one other customer. The venue is well decorated with painted murals of British (London) and Indian scenes on the walls. The tables had covers made up of old family pics and memorabilia from the 70's and 80's(amazing how much of these I could relate too) was a great and welcoming touch.

If you street food lover this is the one of the best restaurants in Hounslow high street. We had Mouthwatering Dahi Sev puri and Cholee batoore in a quality restaurant. Thank you again Thakers❤️❤️😍😍

Firstly I’m not a vegetarian, I love meat.. but this is one place where I could eat and not worry as the food is amazing. My favourite dishes are the mogo, chilli paneer, samosa chaart, masala chips and the homemade pizza. Very clean, good staff and lot of variety. Owners are humble and they care about the community

Having Masala Tea and aloo paratha every weeekend is amazing experience here. Thali is also too tasty. Its great place for Food and spending time with Friends over Cup of Tea.

Simple vegetarian fare served with a lot of love. This was one of the first veg restaurants that we visited in London and not disappointed

I travel alot and eat out almost everyday, however when I come to Thakers, I am not eating out... it feels like I am at home... real food by real people.... home from home. Thank you 😘

We are regular customers and we visit this café every weekend. Sometimes in the week too. The menu is a bit limited when you have it all the time. The prices are not cheap but reasonable. The place is definitely clean and the food is reliable.

Ordered from here, Absolute joke, food’s a shambles! Disappointing tasteless food, portions are a disgrace ~ but wouldn’t want more just to bin it! If you have a choice go elsewhere! The Thali is defo not a Thali it does not come with a sweet, small portions, puris fried in cold oil, therefore retaining oil. NEEL THAKAR ~ The smarter guy takes criticism on board, but I guess that’s not you. Yes, you’ll be open tomorrow and yes you’ll serve customers tomorrow but before long you’ll find they’ll go elsewhere. Because once bitten twice as shy! Remember, the customers will vote with their pockets, we’ve voted to walk away! The food was ordered for delivery for my mum and her friend, both real foodies! There’s plenty of places in Hounslow and surrounding areas to eat! This place needs to sort itself out before it starts losing more customers!

Whenever we are in Hounslow, we love to try food at Thakers. Our favourites are Vada Pav, Pani Puri, Thali, Chilli Cheese Sandwich, Pav Bhaji......the list will go on.

Most food items are good as you can not have everything best from one restaurant. Worth enough to visit to have good food.

Its a nice small place for getting nice vegetarian food in the midst of Hounslow High street. We had ordered chole bhature and paneer chilli. Chole bhature were too delicious and freshly made. However paneer chilli was not so good. Paneer was stale and had rubbery texture. I would definitely recommend ppl to try this place( just stay away from paneer chilli ;))

I just took a take away which when I opened it was just a small amount of dry food over which you had to add the youghurt mix

It's a credit to management of this fast food, freshly made. With daily menu variations, that punters are still coming in. Their location was prime when they started. Quality, freshness, authenticity of food. The softness of chapatis, variety on offer that covers vegetarian ONLY cuisine from various parts of India deserves full appreciation. Seating is very basic but very clean, Indian music played adds to the Ambience. If you want nice Indian vegetarian food, this is the place especially if you are not in the burger league. If you need water, please ask for it politely and you will get. A plastic cupful. I am particularly fond of full thali.And finally let me reiterate, it may be a wee bit dearer , but you are getting consistently fresh, hot food.

This place lives up to its expectations. Been told about this place by friends and family. Pleasantly surprised by the quick service and quality of food. Would recommend the Kenyan style chips & chaat dishes. Clean, friendly service & more importantly reasonably priced! Looking forward to sampling more dishes on the menu!!

This vegetatian restaurant provides some good authentic tasting food. Reasonably priced. It sometimes takes a little time for food to come diwn but it is worth the wait. Definitely worth visiting.

I have visited Thakers a fair few times prior to this just for a quick snack and have always found the service super speedy and the food tasty too.

I looove Thakers! I discovered it a couple of years ago and it was like a portal to Mumbai. The food is amazing, so authentic and the staff is really nice and fast.

If you walking in in Hounslow and fancy a cheap, tasty and hearty meal this is the place to be. Decorated benches and an ample menu with all sorts of choices for the young and old. Its a vegetarian place but trust me they variety and tantalising food will take your stomach and taste buds to heaven. Its very reasonably priced.

Amazing food is served here and heard wonderful reviews previously from family who have eaten at this restaurant. We had a delicious platter of naan bread, a mix of curries, a side and raita. Passion fruit juice was also lovely. Wonderful flavours and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thakers always serves great tasty food . It’s my Go To eatery after a working day , the Chai is sweet and warming , the daily Thali is superb . All credit to Chefs and guys at the counter .

Beautiful cafe type little place Like a fast food McDonald’s but Indian Amazingly well decorated and really clean Masala chai yum Food is very reasonable Try we were very impressed Remember limited tables but people eat and leave so worth waiting

We been there for Potato n puri,puri were nice but potato curry was disgusting,we have this couple of time but this time it was poor in taste,Hope owner will pay attention on it will keep check on it's quality.

THAKERS ROCKS! Cafe style with fabulous flavours at great prices. Love the daily thali, but lots of other great choices. The decor is awesome and unique to the place, cannot be replicated. The Place to Be!!!!! YES. Oh & did I forget to mention, it's vegetarian. Just watch out for the occasional rude family who think their kids can eat their chicken nuggets from Mac D, whilst the adults chomp on their munch of deliciousness. Next time I'm not going to be able to stop myself saying something!

I don’t experience a lot of Punjabi food to be honest so I can only say as I find.

Have been here twice now, the food is yummy and good value for money! Would recommend if you want some Indian food with a home cooked feel!

Second visit to this restaurant/café and was not disappointed. Food was excellent place is clean bright. Both times I was with my 89 year old Mother who also enjoyed the food.

Very good authentic Indian Street Food albeit little pricey, good quality food and service, nice seating area both inside as well as outside. Dependent on what's ordered at times there is significant wait time, cooking is done upstairs and then food is shuttled down in a lift.

The food was cold it was bland zero taste or spice to it .The pasta dish was undercooked and it was £6 for it and no good at all .Cholay was cold and tiny portion .£1.50 for a small can of thumbs up coke It was a Sunday afternoon not even busy. no excuse at all Utter rip off never going again ...

I pass by this place sometimes and I can say it serves great food in a comfourtable environment. Also great that it works for a bit longer than most places if you want to have a snack after most of the high street is already closed. Whole atmosphere is really fit for all cultures. Feels modern and well organised. Shout-out Aneeta for great service in the evening!
