Thaikhun in Glasgow City

Asistimos a una clase de cocina tailandesa aquí. Nos encontramos con enormes sonrisas y personal amable a la llegada. Nos llevaron a través de los pasos para hacer rollos de primavera y un curry rojo. El jefe de cocina tenía una manera relajada encantadora, nos habló a través de todo y nos mantuvo vigilados para ofrecer ayuda si es necesario. La comida estaba deliciosa (bueno, lo hicimos nosotros mismos!). Fue muy divertido y una gran experiencia, lo recomendaría a fondo.

Fuimos al Thailkhun en Silverburn para la clase magistral de cocina. El personal era amable y amable y dio muy buenas explicaciones de qué hacer. La comida era absolutamente increíble, hicimos rollitos de primavera y curry rojo tailandés. Mi novia y yo nos encantó toda la experiencia. Sin duda volveremos. Las margaritas picantes eran absolutamente increíbles también

Would leave zero but can't, the food was tasteless and cold, not spicy as stated on the menu, the staff stayed away from us even though it was empty, no-one asked how the food was and after choking on a long piece of wood my friend got a staff member who said I'm sorry, then the manager came and was laughing whilst stating it's just lemongrass, you should have asked to have it served without it, this was a piece of wood, his attitude was atrocious and I can see the place being closed in the near future. Appalling way to treat customers especially when they don't have many.

The service was very good. The food arrived promptly. We shared a pinto. It was a lot of food for two. Everything was delicious. I would recommend to anyone.

Staff paid little to no attention to us and we had to go find them to take our order as they were standing about chatting. We had a member of our party severely allergic to nuts and sesame. The staff (ben) reluctantly asked the kitchen after asking 3 times if the menu contains those allergens. Did not fill us with any confidence. When I ordered the Thai basil fried rice. It was fried with normal basil not Thai basil! Why do you even have it on your menu if it's not what is says! Asked for the remaining food to be packed to be taken away and never saw it again as they packed it in the bin Other dishes were tasty but child "street ride" had 0 veg in it which was a shame

We visited the Silverburn restaurant on 8th August - we are frequent visitors to this venue. 1. Ordered drinks and my wife’s Irn Brew, which was from a bottle, was completely flat. The staff reluctantly replaced it and the replacement drink was fine. This is something that we have experienced elsewhere recently with bottled Irn Brew and this has not reflected in our assessment above. We suggest that the restaurant refers this information to AG Barr as the manufacturer of the drink. 2. One of the main courses (my wife’s favourite) crispy chicken with cashew nuts in a roasted red chilli sauce was delivered to our table. The sauce was entirely different both in colour and taste; it resembled more of a soy sauce and was extremely salty. As a result, this dish was not finished and was a great disappointment. The manageress explained that they were “testing a new supplier” and removed the dish from our bill without being asked. That said, this experience ruined our visit and will be a major consideration in whether we visit the restaurant again. It was not an enjoyable experience.

Esta fue mi primera vez asistiendo a este restaurante, ya que había leído algunas buenas críticas y disfrutado mucho de la comida tailandesa - mi pareja y yo entramos con expectativas decentes. Desafortunadamente, nos sentimos decepcionados por la visita, el personal y la comida. Llegamos al restaurante a las 6 : 20 pm para la cena y se sentaron bastante rápido. En este punto, el restaurante estaba vacío, así que nos ofrecieron algunos asientos diferentes para sentarse dentro. Cuando nos sentamos, nos dejaron durante unos 10 minutos por la camarera antes de que tuviera que marcar a alguien para tomar nuestra bebida y comida. En esta etapa, el restaurante estaba bastante vacío, ya que éramos una o cinco o seis mesas ocupadas. Colocamos nuestras bebidas y pedido de comida alrededor de las 6 : 30 pm, con un camarero diferente. Mientras esperamos nuestras bebidas, el restaurante comenzó a estar un poco ocupado, pero de ninguna manera lleno. Vimos como otras mesas hacían sus pedidos y recibían sus bebidas. Algunos recibieron sus entrantes antes que nosotros. No fue hasta alrededor de las 7: 00 pm que nuestro entrante apareció, y en esta etapa todavía estábamos esperando nuestras bebidas, que tenía que destacar a la camarera. Todo parecía muy errático considerando que se trataba de dos refrescos y agua del grifo, y no consumían mucho tiempo para hacer bebidas como cócteles. En términos del entrante - mientras sabroso, por £ 8. 50 , el satay de pollo faltaba bastante ya que me dieron tres trozos más pequeños de pollo. A uno de ellos se le había arrancado claramente una gran sección de carne durante la preparación, lo que redujo el tamaño de la porción, lo que fue decepcionante. Después de terminar nuestro arrancador, nos dejaron (con nuestras placas de arranque) en la mesa hasta alrededor de las 7 : 30 pm - viendo otras mesas (que habían llegado después de nosotros) recibir sus platos principales. Varios miembros del personal pasaron por nuestra mesa varias veces e ignoraron las placas de inicio que se habían sentado durante la mayor parte de media hora, que habíamos apilado parcialmente para despejar un poco la mesa. En este momento, saludé a alguien y le pregunté si la red llegaría pronto como otros que habían pedido después de nosotros habían recibido la suya - la camarera dijo que hablaría con la cocina. Nuestra principal salió alrededor de las 7: 40 pm después de haber preguntado esto. Mientras que la comida estaba bien, 40 minutos para un Pad Thai de pollo y un poco de arroz no era razonable dado que el restaurante no estaba demasiado ocupado y otros estaban siendo servidos sus comidas a un ritmo más rápido. Después de terminar la cena, nos sentamos con los platos de la cena en nuestra mesa por un corto rato y notamos que otros clientes estaban subiendo a la mesa para pagar sus cuentas, ya que no estaban siendo atendidos. Hice lo mismo pidiendo la factura y se me proporcionó la máquina de tarjetas con el costo de alrededor de £ 56. 00 . Pedí un recibo de mi pedido y me di cuenta de que la propina se había añadido automáticamente a la factura, lo que era bastante preocupante. Si bien no tengo ningún problema propina para el servicio en general, esto había sido casi inexistente durante nuestra visita y la gratificación (a) no se me aconsejó al pagar la factura, y (ser) desafortunadamente no se notó hasta después de que había pagado. Muy decepcionado por la visita y no volveremos. Caro para una comida bastante promedio, combinado con un servicio pobre, errático y no atento. Además, agregar automáticamente una propina a la factura sin decir que se ha agregado, solo presentando la máquina de tarjetas con el total, es bastante cuestionable. Decepcionado por decir lo menos.

Great atmoshpere. Good selection of wine and excellent service. Always on hand to help. Great compromise and happy accomendate our allergies. Execellent overall experience. Would come back again.

The Singapore stir fry noodles were not stir fried, boiled noodles were served along with cold vegetables and tofu. The Thai green curry was on the sweeter side even though it was marked as spicy.

Amazing Place! The best thai food what we ate. We come back here very often. The food is delicious, the decor takes us to the amazing world of Thai cuisine. People working here are always nice, smiling and friendly. Really recommend this place

Having travelled in Thailand this is as close as you’ll get from a multi sited chain ! Excellent papaya salad and amazing prawn pad Thai ! Great service from lovely servers ! Highly recommend !

Takeaway portion sizes smaller than they used to be. Chicken in massaman curry far too chewy, Pad Thai tasted left over. Place used to be 5/5 but clearly nowhere near as good anymore.

First time in here, I ordered the chicken with creamy/spicy sauce with noodles. It was amazing, have never tasted anything like it. My husband ordered the pork with sticky rice. He loved it but left a lot of rice as there was no sauce to eat it with. The staff took a long time to take our order, people came in after us and were served before us. The woman who took our money just asked if it was a card payment, nothing else. I was about to leave a tip when I noticed there already was a surcharge on the bill. I would go back if I thought the staff would be more pleasant!

The restaurant was quiet but the service was still slow. We had red and green curries which were reasonably tasty but the chicken was chewy and overcooked. We won't be back.

This place never fails to deliver for me. They offer an amazing menu, everything I've eaten there so far has been absolutely delicious. The staff is very helpful and polite, but they do tend to get overwhelmed even though the restaurant might not be that busy. It's a bit of nitpicking though. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone.

Inedible sticky rice served twice that my daughter struggled to cut with a knife. Staff less than interested and didn't check in to see how replacement food was. When when asked to replace with noodles the waitress came back and dumped on the table. We are not difficult customers and hate making a fuss but hate unhelpful and rude service. Won't be back

The worst Thai food I have ever had and absolutely shocked how bad this was avoid this place at all costs ALL THE FOOD IS REHEATED , we received a drink with a plastic cap from a bottle inside the ice of the virgin cocktail The server apologised and made a new drink, the starters had been reheated spring rolls chewy, fish cakes like rubber, the chicken skewers tasted of very strong lime that over powered the taste.when the mains came the rice was served in a plastic bag and was stuck together and really hard, was told this was normal as it is cooked in a batch and reheated. I have never heard of a place reheating rice, that’s one way of getting food poisoning, I have been to lots of Thai restaurants and have never seen this. It was all hard and stuck together in one lump the red Thai Was like water, the Manager came to the table swapped it by that time he came back we just wanted to go home, if I could, I would’ve given this a zero stars I would.i will definitely be doing a review on social media about this place

A wee gem. You don't expect such good food in a shopping centre environment. Service was very good too - and a big plus - we weren't rushed.

I've been here a few times. Great selection of tasty Thai food. Although this is in Silverburn, if you are given a table at the back, it has a bit more atmosphere and less passers-bys than the other restaurants in the vicinity

Mothers day booking...Sat for nearly half hour with not even a drinks order. Told there wasn't any kids menus so would have to look online to see It. It became clear everyone around us was disappointed. Seen other families in before us with no orders taken then being told it would be up to an hour wait for food - place was half empty? Could hear numerous people saying their food they waited over an hour on was freezing and a lot of unhappy customers. Still to the point to standing up and leaving no one came to take and order or even inform us about time scale. Very disappointing especially on Mother days - and not many other options of places with availability!

It's a solid 7/10 we experience. Nice staff and no wait to get in on a Friday. Good vegan options.

Seats were hard, cold, and uncomfortable, so review marked down to 4 stars. The food was great value for money, very tasty, but could have had a bit more curry sauce on the Katso Curry to help soak up the chicken and rice, it may be that the sauce got trapped in the nice textured 'leave' plates. Defo dine here again, when its a bit warmer, and we can get a comfortable cushioned seat.

I love this restaurant at Silverburn Shopping Center. It serves authentic tasting Thai food at a reasonable price and in a lovely calm atmosphere. The staff serving us were lovely and attentive to our needs - but not in an intrusive way. The music was in the background which allowed conversation. I've only been here twice, once before Covid and again a couple of days ago and the food and quality of service has been perfect for me on both occasions. I will be returning again soon to Thaikhun to remind myself of the beautiful flavors of Thailand.

Love the food. Menu so good it's hard to choose. Staff nice and pleasant. Decor so quirky. We love to visit. Careful if you're not big on spice!

Attended a cookery class this morning, we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience, well worth it. Cannot give less than 5 stars as although cooked and ate our own food the whole experience was fantastic. Highly recommend and will return.

Hands down the best green curry I've had in the UK. amazing. Spicy and not intrusively sweet as so many faux Thai places . Will be back . Almost licked the bowl .

Love this place but they have put their prices up too much so won't be back.

Went with my partner, while there we noticed that his chicken was undercooked. We informed the waitstaff and they kindly replaced the dish with a new one free of charge. The two star review is because I also ordered chicken and it looked cooked so I ate it, however about an hour after leaving I began feeling extremely nauseous and having terrible stomach cramps, followed by vomiting and diarrhea. So two stars for good service, but minus three for giving me food poisoning. If you go here please be careful about what you eat and avoid the chicken.

Fantastic street style place to eat food is good what not to love

Very tasty food just let down by the prices. Curry is £13 + £4.50 for small bit of rice. Sharing platter is around £11 per person. Tad steep.

Amazing from start to finish. Great welcome and staff very attentive from first minute to last. Food was on point and having not long came back from Thailand the flavours were certainly authentic. Great work team!

Horrible, food, service, management. Gone downhill. Used to always come here, mostly hit and miss with what you get here, but recently it's just been awful, also manager always seems annoyed, found sharp peice of metal in my food as i was chewing it and the managers response was what do you want me to do, without even an apology, she however did offer a wee discount as a pathetic gesture.

I have always been to this place over the past few years and the food and service has been great until recently. My sister had ordered the street noodles which came super late while the rest of the food was already on the table, but the restaurant was fairly busy so we didn't mind. When the noodles first came they were completely dry and lacked flavour so my sister told the staff and they bought her some sauce on the side. My sister then kindly requested if they could cook it with more oyster sauce as the sauce they provided didn't add much flavour to the noodles and was simply a hot dipping sauce. Food came back the second time and it wasn't much different, noodles were still bland and at this point, my sister just ate a few bites and left it. In the end my sister told a senior waitress that she was disappointed with her meal, the waitress didn't want to hear it, she was so passive aggressive and kept saying "you should have told us before" my sister repeatedly explained that she had already told the other waitress and felt embarrassed asking for the food to be altered a third time. The rest of the food was great and so was the young asian girl who took our order, but the street noodles were awful and the woman who I believe was thai, I think her name was Jan was just rude. Will not be returning. Looking at the reviews below someone has posted the street noodles and I can confirm mine did not look like that. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the food but it lacked colour, flavour and was completely bland!

Thaikhun has to be our favourite restraunt in silverburn. The food tastes amazing everytime we go, the flavours are just 😍 Big hats off to the chefs. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. Service is great every time we go. If you haven’t been I would highly recommend to give this restraint a try.

We visited for our wedding anniversary which I mentioned in my booking notes. We were given a quiet table on a busy Saturday night. I was even given a complimentary mocktail. Such a lovely experience, we don’t get out much as we have a young child and they really helped to make a rare treat feel really special. The mocktails were really lovely, I tried the virgin colada and the Christmas one. Both lovely little treats as someone who doesn’t drink.

This is a very relaxing and unassuming venue. Food is great and the service was excellent. It’s hidden away in the shopping centre and we found it by accident. Been there twice now and would certainly go back.

We have visited many time previously, but this visit was the worst. In all honesty it was Understaffed, unwelcoming, food cold and portions reduced size from previous visits, Sadly it would take an awful lot to convince us to return.

Like using this restaurant when we’re visiting Silverburn so we have been in a few times and also have had deliveries as we’re quite local, really disappointed this time as prices have went up , quality of food has went down and we had to wait a while for our main meal which wasn’t very warm when it eventually arrived. Don’t mind paying extra if the standards go up aswell but deeply disappointed in this visit not to mention some of the soft drinks have changed for cheaper brands .

Wow! We stopped in for dinner on Tuesday night, not expecting too much with it being in a shopping centre. I wish I’d taken pics as I usually do, however, the company I was with hates when I do that. The food was incredibly tasty and plenty of it. We had the sharing platter and chose the beef garlic & black pepper, chicken masaman. Street noodles and rice. For £18.50pp this was a lot of food once in the plate and an opportunity to try 3 various meals. Each was as delicious as the other and I definitely recommend the street noodles. I will absolutely go back to this restaurant; the only mark down on atmosphere was due to it being a Tuesday and in a mall. Inside the restaurant is beautifully finished and we didn’t feel the staff were overbearing, in fact it did feel like a family run business.

Food taste alright, however the portion is too small given it costs you £13.5. Not reasonably priced. You can clearly see the rice can only fit a regular rice bowl. Also, the egg on the top is not big, just the rice underneath is too small. If you call this a kids portion, that's fine. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Servicewise, near to non existent. The servers chatted loudly in Mandarin. It took me quite a while to get their attention. When I asked for the bill. The bill was automatically added 10% as the service charge. I asked the server whether this is optional and she said yes. Then I said I would like to take that away. Then she argued this is a standard charge and ALL restaurants charge that. How appalling was that! They were so unprofessional and had an entitled attitude. She then asked whether I was not going to pay that and I said yes. Then she cancelled that and banged the cashier loudly. Oh, dear... Atmospherewise, perhaps that's authentic thai street food service. Well....then I'll give the that 5 stars....oh wait, perhaps not, they would like to charge you restaurant price and service.... But the banging bring me back to street service... that's a tough choice....May be I'll give it a 3 as a compromise.

Went for a birthday meal at lunchtime...have been previously and it's always a taste sensation! The food is excellent..served beautifully.. Vissy was amazing...finer details no problem...The decor is superb, makes you feel like you are in Thailand... absolutely perfect!! Will be back again there soon!

Place was fantastic, the food was beautiful and so fresh while the service was amazing. The decor of the building was something out of movie. The only reason I gave it a 4 for atmosphere was because it wasn't that busy. It's without there control and it was sad to see on a Saturday. Maybe it was the time I went or whatever but I would love to see it alot bruiser because this place is wonderful.

Good place we visit somewhat regularly for Thai food. It's not usually very busy and the food is great and prepared quickly. (though I miss the days when it was spicier)

so my frnd and i went there for lunch, order 2 street noodles and wings. they brought 1 noodle and wings. we asked for the other one and been told u ordered one😅 absolute joke. anyway we waited for 15 mins and the other plate came, which was not what i ordered, they were plan noodles, i asked the lady this is not what i asked for, she took my place away and said nothing, came back with chunk of chilli flakes and green chillis busting on top of noodles and rudely said to me next time dnt order noodles 😟😟 WOT!!!!! she was being so resist just bcz i wear hijab. she just took plate away and just ignored us, we waited 10 mins thn asked the other girl that we want to leave this is not how u guys should treat us and we have not had no meal, that manager said u need to pay for rest of stuff which was clearing just sitting on the table as never got chance to eat. The manager should look for other job rather thn customers service, change your management before hey shut this place down with terrible service !!!!!! resist , will never go again

Great food Great service, A fantastic menu with Vegetarian and Vegan options, Food was fantastic good portions and all made fresh. The Kitchen is open so you can see the food being prepared, Loved the feel of the place the decor is brilliant, staff very attentive and pleasant will definitely be back soon.

My wife & I had the pleasure of attending a cookery class at Thaikhun. Professionally presented & a lot of fun. We would recommend this to anybody interested in cooking.

My friend and I had chicken katsu and chicken chilli from there which lead to food poisoning for both. Unfortunately this was the second it had happened to her when consuming chicken here, and she took another chance thinking last last of food poisoning may have been something else. Clearly not given it has happened now to both of us, keeping us awake most of the night before a working day.

Spent 40 odd pound on a curry, some tiny chicken skewers, two rice & spring rolls. Cannot explain how disappointing it was, but I'll try. Chicken was so dry, got a tiny wee pot of satay sauce that didn't even cover the rice. Beef was inedibly chewy. Spring rolls were soggy. Got three cubes of cucumber & three slices of chilli as my 'veg' for the satay. Absolutely scandalous they get away with charging these prices.

We’ve been here a few times and the food is always really tasty but it’s now getting so expensive and they’re cutting corners that I don’t think we will be going back. Tonight my partner ordered a salad for £13 and it came on a side plate, no where near enough for the price and considering it should be a main. A lot of mains are £13-16 and that’s excluding rice. And a side of rice is £4.50 for a small, single portion. To expect people to be paying £20 for a curry and rice is just too much in my opinion.

Very bad customer service. An woman introduced herself as she is manager of this Silverburn branch but her attitude was so rude and not acceptable behaviour. She was trying to push back out from restaurant without minimum amount of customer service. It used to be good food but from few days food quality is been going down and down.

From welcome to goodbye this was a very enjoyable, entertaining, informative morning cooking Thai street food. Our host, Jan, was friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic.

Attended today for a cooking demo. Absolutely brilliant experience delivered by Jan. Brilliant introduction to Thai cooking and also the ingredients and origin of the dishes. Thank you Jan for the demo and also the professional experience and thank you Eve for organising this for me. Amazing!!

The staff were always kind and always quick with their ordering and serving. I loved the food and there was plenty of options for me as a Vegetarian. I adore the Thai Red Curry and hope to soon move to the Thai Green Curry when my spice tolerance gets better. The Plant Based Chicken was one of the best I’ve had! The atmosphere was amazing I loved the rustic design full of Thai Culture. Absolutely no problems what so ever. Also the Mango Sticky Rice is to die for.

Well, that was appalling. Its like they don't want you here. The service is non existence. The Thai lady was expressionless, like someone died. The food was good though and the place looked good.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, good service, very kind and friendly staff. We have had chicken, noddle street style, beef curry, prawns pineapple friedrice, chicken curry, and all dishes was delicious. There's lots of vegetarian options on the menu, and this place is wheelchair accessible and kids friendly.

Amazing food and atmosphere let down by their uninspiring service and broken/messy toilets. Will be back for a takeaway but not to sit in.

Was there a fortnight ago. Not worth the money. Four of us were there and only one person enjoyed their meal. Couldn't get the coconut prawns off the skewer. Think they'd been sitting for a while The noodles on the Thai Street food were a challenge, so didn't eat most of them. Chicken wasn't great. Won't go back.

We love the atmosphere here, they’ve work well at creating that street food vibe. The food and service is always excellent. What would make it even better for me, is the add thé panang curry back to the menu.
