Always been brilliant, fresh, tasty good service, the best Thai for 10 miles!!!

Loved the food but alas it was closed until further notice when I went today. Sad loss in Coulsdon

Place is a dump. Food is made from frozen stuff, nothing fresh. Coke given was out of date by 6 months and flat. Had food poisoning due to bad food. I do not recommend this place for eating in or take away. Hygiene in the kitchen is 1 star given twice by Croydon council in the past.

We ALWAYS order with Thai venue. Never had a problem, food always very tasty and super friendly service. And unlike other restaurants, you get lots of meat in your dish and not just onions. Ordered again just now, thank you!

Delicious Thai takeaway. Recommend the tamarind duck and the jungle curry. Delivery was quick and everything was reasonably priced. All of the food was very fresh and tasty!

Il be totally honest, it’s not the best Thai food Iv eaten. The flavours aren’t to bad but could do with improvement. The beef massaman would have been nice if better quality beef it was more like donor meat, the potatoes are tinned or processed, so overall not very nice at all. Such a shame as I love Thai food!

We dined in as a group of 10 friends and thoroughly enjoyed the evening with an extensive menu, good food and wine. The atmosphere and decor are pleasant and relaxed yet modern. The service was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was well prevented, hot on arrival and tasty. We enjoyed all 3 varieties of hot, hors d’oeuvres, including vegetarian options for two guests, tamarind duck, red, Thai, curry, pad Thai noodles, sticky rice, honey pork, and a steak special. Prawn crackers also get a mention as they were yummy. Wine was nicely chilled and iced tap water regularly topped up. Can definitely recommend for dining in and will be back!

Food tasted nice portions were extremely small. Ordered a Phanaeng prawn curry, coconut rice and pad Thai noodles. Curry had 4 pieces of prawns and rice barely fed one person. Pad Thai noodles overcooked.

Chicken was over cooked, food was bland and barely warm. The curry sauce was like water, not sure who cooked this but they don’t know what they are doing. It was disgusting. Sorry but not sure I could possibly say anything positive.

I’m not quite sure what all the negative reviews are for, we’ve eaten in and had delivery over the years for different occasions and it’s always been 10/10 for us.

Worst take away ever!. Two hours late, half of order missing food so poor we threw out for the foxes. Shocking that this place is allowed to severe food- extremely poor.

Delivery took slightly longer than expected. Vegetable pad Thai was cold and not nice at all, vegetable tempura also cold and bland. Chicken with coconut rice however was lovely. Won’t risk ordering here again.

it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, the house fried rice or whatever it was called was extremely soft and had the consistency of a risotto. it’s like feeding a dog! the chicken and prawn pad thai was also soft and sweet, and the prawns came with the shell on? would give 0 stars if i could, don’t recommend at all. save your money !

Ordered a take away, it took over 2 hours to arrive and wasn’t worth the wait, a mass produced supermarket take away would have had more flavour. The Pad Thai was almost a single solid lump, the Red Curry was very watery, the whole meal was very poor indeed.

Genuinely surprised to see so many negative reviews. My wife and I had a great experience. We arrived on a Tuesday evening and it was us and one other couple in the restaurant, so unsurprising the service was very quick. Waitress was very friendly and we were catered for as vegans, we ordered the vegetarian set menu and it was delicious. Highlights were the vegetables with cashew sauce. Would definitely come again.

Disgusting food - recovering from Covid fancied a takeaway. This was the worse take away I’ve ever had. Ordered via deliveroo. Took ages to come and the food it’s self looked old and stale. Took one mouth full and the rest in the in £40 down the drain. I called them and complained. Wasn’t even offered a refund. I very rarely do this and write such a bad review but don’t waste your money. It was gross 🤮

Delicious sea bass - both steamed chilli and garlic fried with pepper, steamed dumplings, chilli beef, river prawns - the best and nice presentation. A group of us 12 booked a table before Christmas and we had a fantastic time. The owner couldn't do enough for us. We took our own music and he even pre-cleared the back of the restaurant for us to have a 'dance floor'. - the perfect private party - and he patiently waited until we went home...!

I should have listened to the previous reviews. Ordered food. Took an hour and 45mins to get here. Called 3 times to get an update. Food came cold. Congealed together. The mixed starters were over fried and soggy with oil. Nothing was offered as an apology only that we were 14mins away and it was too far....??!! Avoid avoid avoid

I tried this on Deliveroo the food that I ordered was absolutely fresh and delicious I even called to say how superb it was spoke to lovely girl I'm ordering again tonight for me to do that says lot I don't get the chance to order takeaway enough because I'm always cooking. Hate leaving negative reviews but I also rely on honest reviews to decide where to eat… Food delivery took 2 hours to arrive and food was cold. Ordered the chicken pad Thai which was inedible and I threw it away. It was smothered in sweet chilli sauce and tasted nothing like authentic Thai food. Spring rolls were soggy. Won’t be returning

Worst Thai food I've ever had. Pad Thai & Chicken Satay were inedible and the rest had no flavour whatsoever. If they don't get their act together there'll be another empty shop in the high street.

Pleasantly surprised by this thai food. The flavours in the dishes were amazing! I ordered satay chicken, pad thai, beef spicy salad (this was very hot!) red curry with chicken, rice and sticky rice, all were excellent! Thank you Thai Venue. I will definitely order again👍😍

We ordered a takeaway for my birthday treat and were not disappointed. Please try the rib starters...amazing melt in your mouth. Duck pad Thai with tamarind duck and a musaman curry. All beautifully cooked, generous helpings, quick delivery ! Our favourite Thai restaurant! Thank you

We ordered take away. The noodle dish was stodgy, sticky with no sauce and bits of beef which did not taste fresh. The jungle curry was awful. Watery see through gravy with no flavour just spicy and chicken tasted old. Both were inedible. Its not nice to do a bad review but honestly they need to step up otherwise they won't be around for long.

Lovely staff and quick service. Delicious selection of Thai food and owner says he uses halal chicken and beef (but double check if you're not sure) I ordered a lunch takeaway and was ready in 15 minutes! Recommend the tempura vegetables, sweet and sour fish and soup

Absolutely disgusting food and horrendous response when I complained. I offered to send photos of the inedible food they delivered, even photos of it in my kitchen sink waiting to go down the waste disposal unit but they wanted us to take the food back in order to get a refund 😡😡😡😡😡 I won’t let this go even if I have to go to the small claims court. It’s a matter of principle!

I had a bad experience here a year ago but gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried ordering a takeaway recently. The food was ordered at 6:45pm and I rang up at 9pm to cancel and just at that point the driver arrived I was reassured that the food was freshly cooked even though it had taken 2hrs 15mins!! I knew it would be, surprise surprise it was stone cold and ready for the bin.It is so frustrating that this is the only Thai restaurant local to Coulsdon it's such a let down!

It was so revolting that I don’t think I can even compare it to anything I have ever eaten before :-(. Greasy, empty prawn toast, mushy, squishy weird tasting pad Thai.I have no idea what this was? (see pic) but it definitely was not a prawn Thai green curry, which is what I ordered and paid for. £7.50 for Oliver Twist’s dinner! Couldn’t even get the order right and I only ordered 5 dishes.Don’t order a take away. Save your money.

First time we ordered was brilliant so thought we would try again but totally regretted it as we found bits of shattered glass in the starters and mains. Called the restaurant and they said sorry they’ll refund our money. Contacted Deliveroo and they wanted pictures etc and said someone would pick the food up to investigate, waited a day or two but chucked it away as didn’t want rotting food in my house. Definitely need a visit from the health and food standards agency.

Firstly we equities for an hour and 20 mins then when it arrived the food was greasy and inedible. The rice was a block that could not be eaten. Tempura batter was thick and disgusting, corn cakes so much grease you couldn’t taste anything but that. Pad Thai sauce tasted awful and noodles overcooked. Very very disappointing. Ended up eating toast for dinner. Hardly ever buy takeaway. Won’t be doing it again for a long while.

Ordered 2 Pad Thais for lunch for two us. Basically inedible garbage. No effort made to make a simple traditional Thai dish tasty and enjoyable. It was just sloppy greasy overly sweetened noodles with very low quality ingredients. Not sure why it was pink (?) but irrespective of that both dishes ended up in the bin. Don’t bother.

We ordered food on last Wednesday night at 6:15pm, it took 2 hours to arrive and 1 starter were missing, I called them to make a complaint, the girl who answered the phone said the boss will call me back and it’s been two days, they didn’t call. I paid by credit card on just eat so can’t even get my starter money back! Bad and avoid!

Home Delivery: Prawn green curry, chicken Pad Thai and spring rolls. Excellent service, delivered on time and everything was delicious!

I have been eating here for 4 years now roughly once a month sometimes more. I come with either my partner, my partner and child or any friends and extended family who come to visit I bring here. Not one person I have brought here has had a more authentic, tasty Thai experience. I almost order the same thing every time but sometimes deviate... my favourite main is the beef dry curry, with the Thai venue fried rice with pork. Ashlea normally goes for the Pad Thai or Cashew chicken... there are so many amazing starters on offer, Garlic chicken wings my personal favourite, with the Honey Roast pork (my daughters favourite) and the Thai toast and duck spring rolls as well. The weeping Tiger special is also a must try! I’m not a massive fish person but my friend says the steamed sea bass/bream is fantastic and he is a picky sod. My cousin and his partner found this to be their best experience of a Thai restaurant in London and have previously lived in south east Asia for years so what a testament to the food. The owner Ko and his family, his chefs and workers are all the friendliest of people always happy to have a chat and a joke. The interior of the restaurant may need a lick of paint but I go for the amazingly tasty food. We always sit in as is only a ten minute walk away and we like the chilled atmosphere. It was because of Ko and his love of his country that we went to both Thailand in November just gone and experienced his culture first hand. Absolutely love this place and last thing is it’s really affordable.

Food left a lot to be desired. Asked for a Pad Thai with no nuts (allergic) Got home, covered in peanuts. Won't be risking that again.

Unfortunately, not an enjoyable meal.We should’ve realised when we arrived that the food wouldn’t be up to much given that the restaurant interior was pretty shabby. Not a pleasant environment to eat it and the toilets were a danger. Torn carpet, patches of different colour paint all etc. Definitely in need of a face lift. The food was also unenjoyable. We had a selection of starters (Hors D’oeuvres) and they were the worst we’ve ever had. Very thick batters making the deep fried items quite hard to distinguish from each other with an overriding taste of oil. The prawn toast and prawn wontons contained what I can only describe as a prawn glue. It was mashed up to beyond any recognition of prawn, losing all prawn flavour but gaining a glue like texture. The best part were the dips, they were delicious. The mains were OK, nothing special, nothing terrible. Beef was quite tough, we had to leave this. The red Thai curry was OK and steamed veg in oyster sauces was yummy.Service I’m afraid was quite bad. Very slow to clear plates and take orders, despite that the restaurant was only a quarter full. Choice of plates was very strange too, very cheap plastic plates, definitely not restaurants quality. I also had a piece of hard plastic in my coke. It was very small and on the rim of the glass so didn’t cause me any issues but needless to say it wasn’t nice when I found it stuck to my mouth after taking a sip.Sadly, we won’t be back.

Bought the King prawn dish which is not what it says. The sauce was watery not rich as it states and there was no bed of spring greens. Just prawns & watery sauce. The weeping tiger was dry with no sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant. I called to complain & the guy said that there was a bed of spring greens!!!!

I've been here a few times and it is a great restaurant. Although it could definitely do with a lick of paint, everything else is wonderful, especially the prices. The food comes quickly and tastes great.

Food arrived with a very sweet driver. Still hot and the starters were nice and crispy, vegetables in the curry colourful and al dente. Food made with care. Very tasty. Will order again.

As we’re new to the area we are trying local takeaway options. The food was delivered on time, hot and well packaged. The food tasted fresh, wholesome and very tasty. We will be ordering again!

Thai family run restaurant with great authentic food.

There were only 2 other people eating in the restaurant when we went and so it was very quiet. I had chicken spring rolls for the starter which were ok and then chicken thai green curry for the main. The Thai green curry was very good. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant would be so much better if they made it more cosy. Maybe a few candles, some more pictures on the walls and some relaxing music. I felt it lacked atmosphere and so didn't make us want to stay for long.

About a year ago, when we moved in to the area, the curry /specifically red/ was much nicer. these days is very liquidy, not much of the thick coconut milk. waiting for improvements...

Simply awful in every way, waited an hour and 15 minutes for so called Pad Thai, tasted like noodles with ketchup on and that's being lenient, called to comment but staff really not intrested, poor service, poor food, poor timing and a waste of money!!!!

Food is super tasty, good sized portions, reasonably priced and a warm set of staff. They do a prompt delivery service and take away portions are good sizes and we’ll packed. Never had a spillage! Highly recommended!

Have eaten here, and would do more if we could get out or get our kids to eat Thai 😂 it’s our fav local takeaway! Need say no more really - try it

We visited here one Monday evening. My family and another man were the only customers. The food was lovely! I had the crispy wan ton for starter and the mussamun curry with sticky rice for my main. The portion sizes were good and the food was flavoursome! The sticky rice was very sticky which was a nice change to regular boiled rice.

Came here on an empty Monday night, only people and had the Kings meal for 4. Fabulous selection of food, we were absolutely full up by the end and it was really tasty - would thoroughly recommend it. Total bill including beers, crackers x2, starters and lots of selection if main course, 35gbp including service charge.

For a fairly nondescript restaurant in Coulsdon, the level of service provided by the two staff far exceeded my expectations. They were professional, polite and knowledgeable. The food was not so great, with the Pad Thai suffering from sauce overload and the jungle curry too spicy and too watery.

Me and some work colleagues often give ourselves a Friday lunctime treat - either eating in or takeaway. Very nice

What an absolute shower ...multiple customers have walked out due to wait...takeaway orders mucked up and left sitting going cold...it appears the team here couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery...first and last time I will becoming here... Shame it's not possible to give a negative star review... serious need to revamp their business plan .

Very nice food, friendly waters and good service

Arrived early evening. Order taken after 20 minutes. Others arrived later but were served long before us. Tackled waiter who hadn't noticed our long wait. Eventually first of three courses arrived BUT subsequent courses late because precedence given to takeaway customers -RESULT nearly 3 hours to eat diner.

Been using Thai venue for a decade now and its always the best quality, fresh food like this is light rather than a chinese.The standard of produce and quality of delivered food is unrivaled.

Great food and very well priced. Perhaps a little dark inside and unfortunately no window seats due to the layout. But still highly recommended. Excellent lunchtime menu, the vegetable tempura and red curry being my favourites. Staff very friendly and always happy to help with any particular requirements like kids dishes.

The best Thai I’ve had! Everything was cooked perfectly - the Thai Green curry was bursting with flavour! You can have vegetarian or meat options and can ask for your level of spice, moreover the staff are just so lovely! Delivery or eat in - both great. Will definitely come again.

A certain Saturday... which was a surprise as the food was delicious.... toilets up some very steep stairs.. not really disabled friendly. From scallops to steak.... the menu choice has all the favourites covered.... splendid value for money too.

We had the mixed starter which was really tasty and had lots of variety - duck spring rolls, crab claws, prawn fill pastries, satay chicken, Thai crab cakes. Main courses were average Thai red prawn curry was really food. Honey roasted pork was tasty but a bit fatty and the seafood combo was just a bit strange with not huge amounts of seafood. Probably rate just above 3/stars but not enough for four.

I ordered a takeaway for my wife's birthday. I prepaid for 4 meals over the phone. We only received 2 normal size mains, 1 tiny amount of chicken in a plastic container which looked like a side dish which I paid nearly 8 pounds for and the 4th meal which was supposed to be a jungle curry was not delivered at all. Instead we were given 4 tiny spring rolls to make up for the main dish, and no apology at all. I had to phone up especially to enquire what was going on. I find it terrible customer service to just replace a main dish with a cheap starter which we did not order without informing the customer and to not refund anything at all. I was told that the "manager" would refund me some of the meal which was not delivered and unsatisfactory but have not received anything from them after 2 days and phoning up twice. I have never left a negative review but felt that it should be shared as this place does not serve authentic Thai food (it tastes more chinese than thai) and neither has good customer service.

My partner ordered us a Thai from this place and for some reason he didn’t look at reviews before ordering.

Went on Saturday night for dinner with my husband and 16 year old son. Fabulous service and the food was hot and delicious. We had mixed starters and a couple of extras to begin with followed by red and green chicken thai currys, rice, pad thai noodles and mixed chicken and vegs. It was really lovely and the place was almost full and buzzing, with nice background music. We had been here before and it was just ok to be honest, but they've certainly upped their game. Can't wait to go back and would highly recommend now.

Had a take away this evening that is now in the bin, over priced unedable.The food was luke warm, weaping tiger steak was chewy, rice was awful almost plastic, spring rolls got spat out and the Thai green curry was disgusting. It's not that imposing as you walk in, most of the trade seems to be made from deliveries, and the tables are a touch basic. The quality of the food however is surprisingly good and the staff are efficient. The Thai fish cakes were excellent and the chicken pad Thai as good as anything I've had uptown

I came here for dinner tonight with my wife and daughter looking for something different and thought we'd give Thai Venue a go. As soon as we walked in I had concerns - there is no music, just silence; the floors are sticky and the tables give the impression of a cafe instead of a restaurant.
