Thai Secret in Kingston upon Thames

So delicious, loved all the food there and couldn’t rate it high enough 🫶🏻

I confidently ordered a medium-sized bubble tea, but the staff suggested a large one. Despite the delicious food, I was disappointed to receive a large cup that was only half-filled with ice. It was a bad experience.

Had a lovely meal with my daughter , food was great and reasonably priced and the staff were very pleasant ,

Service is always very good, but the mushroom soup didn't have any flavour. All the other food we had was delicious.

Eaten at Thai Secret a number of times now & I have to revise my previous neutral review to GREAT! Having enjoyed a variety of dishes I can confirm the food is very good.

I have just ordered from Thai Secret on uber eats as I really fancied a realt Thai. I was dubious as I don't like to differ from where I usually go. But THIS MEAL WAS AMAZING! I ordered beef panang, pad Thai, chicken and prawn roast and Thai Crackers. The portion sizes are amazing and arrived in quicker time than advised. I was dubious as it was dear. But I am pleasantly surprised and very full! This will be my new Thai place for sure! So glad I have found this little gem!

After months of saying we should try this place out, this evening, we finally did. And what a delight! Nikki is an absolute star, she is so passionate about the food they serve, their customer service and really takes care of her customers, I would 11/10 recommend to anyone looking for authentic Thai food. Absolutely the best Thai green curry I have ever had. The sharing platter for 2 was a delight. Will definitely be returning, I think we've found our new favourite spot. Wish we'd gone sooner! Thank you again Nikki for a lovely evening, we shall see you again soon! 🙏

Lovely little restaurant. Really friendly server who provided a great service and offered recommendations. All food ordered was good quality and very tasty, the whole group was happy!

Introduced by some friends, but I had walked past several times, thinking that while the restaurant was simply decorated, it had an air of refinement about it. The menu looked interesting, though I know little of Thai food. Well, it lived fully up to expectations. The starter of scallops with chilli and lime juice, followed by a Massaman lamb shank with potato and steamed rice were utterly delicious! I enjoy spicy food so was not worried by their statement that they try to spice authentically, meaning that some dishes might be a little hotter than people might expect. These were not meant to be more than "one chilli" hot anyway - and were perfect. The chef popped out twice to check I was happy, and the waiter/barman was equally attentive. In all, it was a great first Thai meal and I shall certainly be visiting again.

This little restaurant and the lovely lady who manages it are the best. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is polite, friendly and quick. They provide vegan options not available in the Surbiton restaurant mentioned by another reviewer. It’s my go to favourite if I’m choosing.

Hmmn - in my opinion, food is nowhere near the quality of Nay Thai in Surbiton or Padbok (now closed unfortunately) in Tolworth. The service was quick and friendly, but perhaps it was too quick. Even though Nay Thai is more expensive, I would rather spend my money there.

Went early and were only customers for most of our meal. Delicious starters of soft shell crab and salt and pepper squid. Nice atmosphere and background music. Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again soon. Recommend to any Thai food lovers

Average Thai Food, nothing special

I have ordered from here many times now and cannot fault them as they our my new go to thai for the area. Super authentic and fresh food. Everything comes sealed and is clean and always untarnished when delivered. Our usual order is a mixed starter which has a great variety of classic starters. Then a pad si ew with prawns which I haven't found a better one in London and a chicken massuman curry which has super tender tasty chicken pieces that have been braised which I love. Hats off to these guys I will keep ordering again and again.

I love it here. May have been their first customer, possibly after a refurb. Lovely Thai lady who served me gave me a beautiful water jar.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Its tasty don't get me wrong but I just payed £15.95 for 3 King prowns with raw cabbage and carrots. (Tord Kratiam Prik Tai). For that price I expected main dish that would fill me up. Keep in mind to order rice or noodles additionally.

After reading so many good reviews was quite excited to try this. Very disappointed. Ribs were inedible as they were very tough and tasteless, chicken satay sauce was watery as well as a watery panang curry with tasteless prawns!

Little hidden gem just 10 minutes from Surbiton Station. Amazing Thai food ! The dishes are made specially as how the dish is suppose to be so don’t try to amend the menu to your liking. The owner is really friendly. She’s in most evenings so if you’re new to the place and don’t know what to order; just ask her advice. Highly recommend !

Really tasty food and good portion sizes. We had to wait quite a bit due to an issue with the driver but the manager was quick to react and has made it up with more that we expected. She remade our order, making sure it is fresh for us. We could not appreciate that enough.

I ordered from your restaurant ‘Secret’ yesterday and I was really disappointed. When my order was delivered it was not what I expected at all. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong soup and there were very few ingredients in it. The prawn crackers smelt horrible and were really inedible and not at all fresh. I paid £14 for the Weeping Tiger and at this price I would have expected there to be rice or noodles with it. If you order the same dish you need to remember to order rice to go with it. The food is not worth the money. The only positive was the lovely man who delivered it!

Not very good. Maybe it was an off-day. It was not fresh in the truest sense. More "freshly reheated". Everything tasted very strongly of lemon. And less lemongrass than jif lemon. Starter was inedibly sweet. So we left it and weren't asked why. Probably the poorest Thai I've had in London over the years. Very disappointed.

Great traditional Thai food. Gaeng Phed, Gaeng Panang, Tom Kha, Som Tum extra spicy. All my favourite foods. Really well priced. Check the menu on the internet. Friendly staff. Quaint little venue. Try it out.

Went for a family dinner and everyone was genuinely impressed. It's a small family run restaurant and I think it mist have been the owner who was very friendly and suggested some really decent dishes when she could see we were struggling. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

The food was horrendous Inordered chilli Prawn stir fry, there was no chilli in it and the king prawns were all shrivelled up. When rang to complain she was extremely rude and dindt care one jot. I would not eat there again if you paid me

Another perennial favourite. Love the corn cakes, and the drinks are served with presentation that’s almost flower arrangement rather than beverage. Always good, and can get quite busy by 8pm so call first.

Intimate restaurant, with a mostly typical Thai menu. House specialties are well worth a try. Not many tables, so consider booking on busy nights.

I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food or service here. I can't help thinking that some of the reviews...one in particular, that mentions "microwaved food" provably comes from someone with an alterier motive!

Microwave foods. The lady owner has really really really bad behavior with her staff. Really poor delivery system. Food quality same as every other normal Thai restaurant just higher and unfair prices. Never gonna go there or recommend. Waste of time and money.

Thai Secret is undoubtedly one of the best Thai restaurants in the Surbiton/Kingston area. The food is delicious, the portions are generous and the service is friendly (you can even practice your Thai should you wish, but the staff are all fluent in English of course). Starter wise, the soups can be a little mild occasionally but if you ask then they are happy to make the heat more authentic for you. The other starters are mostly the usual that you'd expect to find, but the Tuna Carpaccio deserves a mention, being extremely tasty and a break from the norm. Mains are again what you'd expect to find, but are executed really well. The Pad Kra Pao is always good and, like the other stir fries, is available containing a good choice of meats and veg. A nice touch is that you can have most dishes with pork (which I find is often the best for Thai food) and even with minced pork, which I'm informed is even more like traditional cuisine. The Pad See Ew noodles are also exceptionally tasty, with the noodles and vegetables cooked slightly al dente. I haven't tried the Pad Thai noodles but they look very good indeed. The restaurant is more "smart" than the average Thai restaurant, as they often tend to be either sparse or a wooden clad affair. Thai Secret is tiled in dark colours and mood lighting and has a sophisticated feel to it. There is a good selection of wines too. I'm really glad I tried the place on a whim some time ago. It has certainly become my Thai restaurant of choice in the area. Highly recommended!
