The best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand! So often Thai food in the UK is disappointing. It's overpriced, the portions are too small and the quality is not quite there; not so with Thai Esarn! The portions are generous, the prices are good and the food is amazing. With their diverse menu and reliable service, this little takeaway really brings the authentic taste of Thailand to your door.

Heard a lot about this place so we ordered take away with friends. The food was AMAZING!!! So fresh, tasty and flavoursome. 3 starters and 3 Currys were ordered and all tasted amazing. All 3 mains tasted very different. In a good way. An explosion of flavours.

Went again recently not having been for about 6 months. The place has been smartened up considerably. Staff are pleasant and efficient and my Penang Thai Curry with Coconut rice was excellent. Just been again and superb again.

First time I used the place last night , I love in the other side of Leicester and it was worth the drive! They give you a 1-5 spice menu so you decide how spicy you want it , red curry, the pork rice was amazing, and 2 other lovely dishes, will be back very soon.

It's a shame cos I absolutely love the place but they just can't seem to understand what 'medium' spiced means. I am able to handle a bit if spice but a medium is just really hot and a mild is just too mild! The time I ever used this place I was delighted but ever since they over do the spice. I'm not sure what I have to say to get a medium spice level. Otherwise I love the food from here!

I have ordered from here for the last almost 2 years every Friday the same order, every week delivery is £32.50 to my door, tonight I rang, I was told it was up to 90 minute wait for delivery, no problem I said id collect - for my same order that Ive done EVERY FRIDAY I was being charged £33.50 to collect it myself, I asked if their prices have gone up since last week he said no, I cant understand why places treat loyal customers like this, wont be ordering again! The guy that took my order has clearly tried to purposely over charge me.

Fantastic food and very friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. A taxi driver who lives in the area recommended Esarn, and so glad he did - everything is delicious. The tamarind duck is wonderful, and the red curry is really good too - you can specify the spice level, 1-5: I had a 3 and it was pretty hot, which I don't mind, but if you're used to chain so-called Thai restaurants, you might prefer a 2 :-) Oh - and the prawn crackers are fantastic and actually taste of prawns!

This is a great place! Perfect hospitality and finally someone who knows how to make your food extra spicy! We've been struggling to get barely noticeable heat at so many "authentic" Thai restaurants. These guys don't joke around!! It was proper Thai spicy! They even added extra soup to our take away container so that we wouldn't suffer as much anymore :) All that at no extra charge even though it was clearly our fault for overestimating ourselves. If we ever go to Leicester on a trip again, we would definitely be back.

Absolutely the best Thai food you could hope to buy 100% authentic tasty clean and good. Very good staff so helpful and cooked to order not the usual mash you get in some Leicester Thai Takeaway. As well as takeaway they have a couple of tables for some informal dining !

Fantastic food, would recommend, and would order again! Decided to get a takeaway dinner having had my hair done opposite. The green curry, spice level 2 was delicious and fresh, with many freshly cooked vegetables. The noodles number 31 were also prepared with fresh vegetables and tasted great on a cold winter's night. The meal was reasonably priced and was prepared in under 10 min. Thank you for delivering a true taste of Thailand in Leicester!

Highly recommend the food is so tasty, Pad Thai was incredible, spring rolls, BBQ pork (Yaang) all were so nice. We also ordered one of box meals spice level 2 and it was so spicy and I’m used to spice but overall the best Thai I’ve had, the delivery driver was really friendly and nice as well and the food came piping hot, couldn’t have asked for more.

Oh my gosh this thai place is amazing. I have autism so i don’t like to try new food, but their post of facebook have buddhist monks bless it sold it to me as i am buddhist. Let me just say, very authentic thai! Quite spicy so i’d recommend a 1-2 on spice level. So so good, pad thai was 10/10

Amazing thai soups are great. Small portions but that'd thai food I guess. Very good massamam. The yellow curry is meh. Pad thai was excellent. Got it at 4 spiciness which was too hot. For the curries but the Tom Kha was super at this heat. Really good food

Food here is fantastic we had seafood as not halal. Very fresh and veg was perfect crunchy. Anyone who likes Thai food will appreciate this takeaway.

First visit for a while, nice food but portions are getting smaller and beef in a massaman curry should not be tough! Nicely spiced to customers taste as always. To order 3 starters, 2 mains, noodles and rice between 2 of us and not feel really full, reflects on the portion sizes and Thai food is not cheap.

This was the 2nd time I tried here after just randomly googling thai food. I can say I have not been disappointed on either occasion. Food is tasty and they ask you what level of spice u require. I went for 'local 4' hot and it was lovely and spicy. The flavours in the curry were good and the spring rolls were also decent. I was not a huge fan of the Noodles but overall it was a lovely meal.

Phenomenal curry. My wife who has visited Thailand said it was the closest to authentic Thai food she has tasted in the UK.

Me and my partner just ordered here first time tonight and the food came really quickly after ordering and the food was out standing the Thai green chicken curry and the special noodle dish with prawns,prawn toast,santan chicken, was all amazing will be definitely be ordering from here again 😍

Never experienced such bad service from marla, no appologies given for the wrong order apart from o well not my fault don't come back. Being a manager my self never would I ever treat any customers in such a way. Unfortunately I will bot be returning.

One of the best Thai meals I've ever had. Fresh, tasty, everything cooked spot on. The menu is a little limited, but I'd prefer that with everything done well, rather than a bloated menu of mediocrity. The portion sizes aren't the largest, but two mains, one rice, and three starters was the perfect amount for two people, and at £27.50 the price is very reasonable. Choosing "Mouth warming" for the level of spiciness did exactly what it said on the tin. A noticeable level of warmth that wasn't uncomfortable and went perfectly with the coconut rice. I'll be ordering from here again in the near future to try some more of the menu items.

Delicious! Had food from here for the first time on Saturday and everything about it was great. Person on phone who took our order was really nice, helpful and took great care to make sure our order was exactly right. Food came really quickly and seemed very fresh. I can't handle much spice so had spice level 1 and it was definitely the limit of what I can deal with! However, I do think it was the best use of spice I've ever tasted - often spicy things taste of nothing but spice to me whereas with this food, I really got how the spice complemented the other flavours. It actually made me understand why people like spicy things more! My husband is pretty good with spice usually and went for spice level 2 and did say that it was a bit too hot and he'd go 1 next time so be warned: they are not messing around when it comes to spice! Definitely recommend!

I have eaten from here twice. The first time was exceptional. Probably the best Thai I have had in the world (better than Thailand). The second time, still good, BUT we asked for chilli level 2 /5 and it was so spicy it made us all cry, literally. Probably the spiciest thing I have ever eaten despite being Indian. I think they must have got it mixed up, a pity as it spoiled the meal. So suggest just testing the food when you pick it up. The flavours here though are amazing, so as long as you can taste the food - its beautiful.

Delicious and authentic Thai food. Only complaint is that the curries do come in varying intensity. The chicken green curry was green but the tofu ones were not green at all.

Do not order from this place. They made an error on my order and I repeatedly requested chicken pad Thai noodles and when I called then to say that the incorrect items had come. I got the blame as he miss heard me. I said chicken pad Thai multiple times. The food was cold.

I have ordered from here several times before I became vegan. I was blown away by their unfamiliar authentic dishes and particularly loved their Larb, which I have since learned to make. Today my girlfriend and I ordered a bean curd Massaman curry (spice level 2) and bean curd Pad Kra Pow (spice level 3). Note: you can choose a spice level from 1-5. They call level 5 “native”. I love spicy food, believe me this a new level. Level 3 is about my mark, 4 if I’m feeling like intense heat. Both dishes were absolutely stunning. The eating experience is quite heady such is the explosion of flavours. My girlfriend tried it for the first time and found it delicious and loved how distinct the dishes were. She loves spicy food and found the level 2 about right. This is super authentic and incredible value for money. Amongst the best takeaways you’ll find anywhere in the country.

Great food and reasonably priced. But be careful of the spice levels (3/5 is hot), this is coming from someone that likes spicy food.

First time we have Thai food since we moved to Leicester 9 months ago. Tonight was our 11th anniversary and we chose SOO WELL! Food was unbelievable! We both work in hospitality and are notoriously difficult to please. I would not charge a thing about our food. Absolutely Fabulous! And we had 9 dishes. Never had Thai food before and very pleasantly surprised. Food was hot, spicy and tasty. we ordered a 3 on the 1-5 spice scale and it had us sweating. The springs rolls were God tier and portions felt just right and speedy delivery. The driver was polite too. Definitely will order again!

We’ve had a couple of takeaways and both times the food has been so tasty, we’ve loved it and been very impressed. There are not many places that wow us but the food here has done. Be mindful of what level of spice you go for, 2 was hot enough for us,anything more than that would be very hot. The service was excellent too and delivery took less time than expected. We would definitely recommend this Thai. We’re looking forward to the next take away.

This place is fantastic! Friendly staff, prompt delivery and outstanding food. The menu is wide and the food is authentically Thai, fresh, vivacious and full of flavour. It's not the cheapest, but I feel that it's good value, far better value than many other Thai places. The best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand! Strongly recommended.

Ordered tonight and we're blown away. The quality and authenticity of the food is bay far the best I have had in Leicester and could easily compete with places I have eaten at in Thailand itself. Probably the best in Leicester if not Midlands. Food tastes as good as I have eaten in Koh Samui. In my opinion the portions do not justify the prices.

5 stars for the food when the order is correct. Knocked one star off because they often make mistakes with the orders.

This thai takeaway took 2 hours to deliver food 2 hours!!!!! An absolute disgrace and offered no discount, so I refused to pay and sent them away.

The first surprise here was picking up the takeaway container and noticing that it seemed skimpy. When I got it home and opened the package there was only about half a container. As it turned out however, that wasn't even the biggest issue. The biggest problem was that the dish I ordered, Pad Prik Pow was unbelievably hot (spicy hot) So hot as to be inedible. It reminded me of those chile eating contests where people are taken to hospital after trying to eat super hot peppers. They asked how hot I wanted the dish 1 out of 5 on the hotness scale. I am used to eating hot spicy food, so I said three. Three should be 'medium hot' not 'so hot that it kills you' spicy I tried to make it better by adding more rice, but it was still like eating fire so I had to give up. This restaurant is primarily takeway. But you can eat in at the restaurant. However there are signs at the counter saying -- strangely --- that if there are a lot of people waiting, then the people eating at tables may be asked to leave because takeaway customers have priority! I wonder if this has ever happened to anyone? I've been here three or four times, twice I ate at one of the two tables on site. The dishes I've had were good. It was a nice local experience. However the service was pretty pathetic.

Really authentic Thai food by Thai people. It's my favourite place for food in Leicester. Believe people in the other posts who say it's one of the best in the UK. Spicy means really spicy so opt for the mildest level if you can't decide between two options.

Ordered coconut rice they gave egg fried rice ! Complained and they said cook the rice yourself. Awful customer service. Rude staff, won’t be ordering from here again.

We get take aways from here and it is so good. There is a spice scale of 1-5, we can handle 3 but sometimes it's super hot! Everything we have ordered so far has been good. The soups are excellent as are the curries.

I ordered beancurd tofu noodles and the tofu was very old and very very hard. I was hardly able to chew it. And the taste was so bad my whole noodles were wasted.

Ok so this is the best thai food in the UK. it has no business being a tiny little shop in leicester. Mind and body blowing especially if you order the level 5 spicy. Takeaway as the shop is small and only two tables. Go

A hidden gem of a restaurant. We have used this place at least 20 times and the food is consistently amazing. Food has an authentic flavour and made freshly in front of you. Pad Thai, masaman and red curry are highly recommended. The prawns are cleaned and prepared propably , which you don't see in other places. They will cook it to how spicy you like it, no 1 spice , increasing to no 5! No 1 is more than enough for most. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

No where on the website does it clearly state that your order must be above £15 for delivery. What am i supposed to do when i'm at home and hungry for some Beef pad Thai and i can't even have it delivered to my front door because the order doesn't come to more than 15 pounds. I'd be willing to contribute an extra couple pounds for delivery if Thai Esarn asked for it.

Excellent Issan food and Thai. This place is legit and some of the best in the UK. It's a takeaway, cheap cutlery, no service, zero decor. ...the real deal. You don't want it any other way.

Tasty Thai food! We had pad Thai and chicken satay. It was well done.

Food is beautiful, great flavours and quick delivery. Only downside is that you can't order the food online as it's a cash-only business, but that's really only an inconvenience and does not take away from the lovely food - hence 5 stars.

Our second take away from Thai Esarm. Really tasty , delivered promptly, heat rating is great , 2 was very spicy for some of us, but 3 suited our main curry head! Quality, well prepared food. Cannot recommend highly enough.
