Tabys Cafe & Restaurant in Leicester

Nigerian family run cafe with western and African foods. I’ve tried the egusi soup previously and last night I tried the okra soup. It was delicious. They add some Ogbono to the soup for that magical draw effect and taste. Highly recommend when you want home food whilst away from home

The residents of Hamilton in Leicester should be proud of this place and do everything to support it. My work brought me from Blackpool to Hamilton, Leicester and how lucky was I to discover Tabys Cafe. I ate in and had the breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection. The hash browns had a crisp outer and the most delicious, fluffy inside. The cafe was clean and modern with quirky African ornaments dotted around. Hopefully, I will be lucky enough to be back in locality so that I can sample the Nigerian dishes . This place really is a hidden gem and the locals should do everything to share this treasure .

Honesty love the down to earth, homely feel about this place, It's menu and their staff. It all makes me come back constantly.

Arrived at the restaurant, waited at least ten minutes, never got spoken to or served. Left without ordering anything 😔

Great food,definitely fresh to order. Music could help improve atmosphere but great local gem.

Really Great food, local gem. Cakes are amazing. We went at lunch, and it was a little quiet. Music being played could enhance the experience.

This place is a real hidden Gem, the food is beautiful and fresh, the service and friendly atmosphere is better than some seemingly upmarket eateries. I highly recommend this place that is just off the beaten track, it's a must visit if in Leicester or local area. Thank you Taby's

I have eaten in this cafe several times and have been happy. N9w my daughter and her 4year old child went today and as my grandaughter was desperate to use the toilet I kindly asked the woman if we could use the toilet first, she said NO so I asked if she could ask her manager, this woman decided to take her time and as my 4 year old was getting upset and distressed and desperate I couldn't wait so walked to the bathroom, within a minute or so the so called woman turned the electric off putting the whole bathroom into complete darkness,this made my grandaughter scream and panic and due.to this she wet herself A 4 year old then had to walk a further 20 minutes upset and distressed with wet clothes. I am appalled at the behaviour of a grown woman and how she would treat a 4 year old child . Refusing her to use the toilets. I will never set foot in this cafe ever AGAIN . Absolutely disgusted and when I get the chance I will speak to the manager/owner as her staffs customer care is VILE and how we were treated is shameful.

Horrible services and the woman who is the server is rude refusing a 4 year old girl to use the bathroom. Due to my daughter desperately needing to go to the toilets .. she then proceeded to go and ask her manager but as she was taking her time my daughter became very distressed and desperate began to cry. I walked into the toilets and the woman behind the counter turned off the bathroom lights. This absolutely scared my child who was traumatised by being plunged into complete darkness screamed and wet herself. Absolutely horrified by the behaviour of a grown woman refusing a child to use the bathroom and causing her distress in such a way. I will no longer eat in this establishment ever again.

I used to go at least once a week in tabys, the food are excellent with a lot of savoury flavours. The owner is always very welcoming and happy, very high standard customer service. If you want to teaste a little bit of Africa is the place to go.

ANYTIME I come here I eat the wraps. THE FOOD IS AMAZING . I came here to eat a chicken wrap it was amazing the wraps are 100/10 better than KFC.

I have been coming here for the past 5 months and the food recipe has always been top notch💯 even my family has all eaten from here and they loved the food. I will continue to be coming here. I will also recommend for friends and family

Ordered for our office so around 10 meals. The lady was so attentive on the phone and I collected in 30 minutes. Food was beautiful we all had the Crispy and jerk wraps. All of my colleagues were loving it! Something different from fast food and you can tell it was all freshly made. Would 100% recommend

The food looked brilliant and it still was tasty but was stone cold. Nothing to do with tabys food and more to do with the shocking delivery service just eat give. Would definitely eat again but maybe collect

This place is an absolute gem! Lovely fresh food that is simply delicious. Staff there are wonderful and you can tell there is a lot of passion and care that goes into the food. Would highly recommend coming here!

I bumped into this restaurant by chance because I was looking for where to charge my electric car and found Tabys just in front of the electric car charging place (fast charging). I had meat pie, chicken pie and Zobo (nice drink) while charging my car. The reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was the pies, could have had more chicken and meat in the pies. Other than this, the pies were delicious. Friendly staff, nice music in the background, they have toilet as well. Nice cafe and restaurant in Hamilton. Spacious as well. Hamilton is slowly becoming a commercial hub. :) Will definitely come again. Femi

Went here for the first time with my parents, and it was good enough for me to come a second time! Went here again with my sisters, the customer service is very friendly and inviting. Enjoyed my time here and the food is very nice.

Found this gem whilst out with the kids today. Service 11/10 food 10/10. The service was really good and the food was lovely. massive portions too even managed to take some food away with us. Kids loved it. Make us feel so comfortable.

Our first time. Had a Spiral Borek ( filled with spinach and cheese) and a latte. Fantastic. Freshly made. Warm and friendly service. Lovely atmosphere. We will return. Highly recommend.

I went with a friend and I ordered 5 spicy wings with a side of jollof rice and peri fries and my friend ordered a 1/4 chicken with a side of plantain and jollof rice. Rating of my meal: Wings:7/10 ( I got medium flavour) Fries:6/10 Jollof Rice:7.5/10 My only criticism would be the medium seasoning wasn’t very spicy. Therefore I would opt for hot next time. Friends meal: 1/4 chicken:6/10 Plantain:5.5/10 Jollof Rice:7/10 Her only criticisms were the plantain wasn’t that sweet however it was fried the way she likes it and additionally her chicken was quite dry. Would definitely go again and recommend to a friend!!

I ordered a few months ago and it wasn't the greatest. For starters the restaurant always has a horrible smell (in the nicest way possible) and the prices are unbelievably high! I understand that you are a small business but honestly never again! My food came room temperature ,the food was quite nice I can't lie and I love the fact you have halal options but it wasn't busy at all on the day yet it still took you abit of time to make and to be fair milkshakes are not the best either honestly I prefer never to latte but I cabts lie the decoration of the room and the quality of the decor is fabulous it's just the food that needs work. What I couldn't believe the most is when my cousin came in to use the restroom and you proceeded to say customers only which is reasonable but then you had a great idea to afterwards LIE and say there out of order! I understand you've been here for a small amount of time but this needs work.

I had Jerk chicken wrap, jollof rice, sweet potato fries and carrot cake. Nice decor. Good service. Reasonable price and portion size. Delicious food. But, I could not taste any jerk seasoning.

I can’t comment on the food, but the lack of knowledge of coffee is woeful. I sought a decaf cappuccino it being the afternoon… their first genuine dumbfounding question was ‘what is decaf again?’ Then when they understood the concept I was offered instant coffee. There was no point sticking around, so one star is all I can realistically give.

Nice food, great portion and nice customer service! I love my African food and had a chance to have both Egusi and efo riro with poundo yam and it was sooo delicious. The portions were large and food was really tasty, and felt like home.

Tabys is a very beautiful homely cafe & restaurant. Flo the owner cooks her food with so much love and pride. Her children are absolutely amazing just like her. Not only is the food finger licking good but the warmth and the service has won my heart. Keep it up!

I had their vegan burger and plantain both of which were incredible. The waitress was especially charming. Couldn’t recommend more!

Shocking service and food. Was made to wait over 30 minutes for a chicken burger, then was served it burnt! Disgusting! Instead of removing the charge they had audacity to not remove the meal cost. She tried to say that she saw it was burnt b it thought that’s how customers like it?!! Not a great experience with food or service. The oil is dirty. Do not recommend this place at all. Save yourself money and time.

Tabys is absolutely quality! English breakfast are to die for! Especially along side a reeces milkshake! Very friendly staff and incredible food sizes! This place is so underrated and deserves more notice! Don’t hesitate to come here, otherwise you will miss out all the goodness they give ⭐️

The Food did come on time and I wasn’t happy with the The size of the portion of the food it was small then last time I ordered and the food was not feeling at all for what I paid last time It was not worth it this time completely ridiculous food portion and what I paid it’s not what I got so I’m not happy with the food service at all Please be careful on the portion of the food and what you give next time

Great service and great food! I love their grilled chicken and wraps, and their coleslaw is so good!! I always get the sweet potato fries too which are perfect and some of the extra sauce that they do! I always feel very welcome when I go too :)

Absolutely nasty. Food wasnt even cooked chips are all un cooked all hard in the middle. Chicken pue was cold not worth 25 pound of my money

First time ordering from here and it definitely won't be the last. I had the Jerk chicken and jollof rice. Everything was delicious, nicely seasoned and cooked well. Staff are very friendly too I've heard the pepper soup is the one to try and I'm looking forward to my next visit to give it a go.

We would highly recommend this family run cafe. It was our 2nd visit. The staff are so helpful, cheery and friendly. We are vegan and although the choices are limited, there are still enough to enjoy. The food is freshly made and we especially loved the freshly fried plantain crisps. We will definitely be returning and supporting our local eatery.

Shocking 20 minutes for a bacon on toast was the only 1 in there poor quality ingredients and way over priced not very welcoming staff either

Just had the goat soup with rice and tried out the 3 pies. The food is fantastic! Goat soup was extremely peppery which I love and had great flavour. The pies were all amazing apart from the fish pie as I felt it didn’t have as much filling compared to the others and was noticeably drier. Other than that however, great food! Will be trying out the other options.

Just got the jerk chicken and rice on the opening day! It was really good and staff are friendly. Will definitely be going back for more.
