Good service, clean restrooms, delicious food but small portions

Very nice authentic Thai food. Lovely atmosphere in Thai decorated interior. Food was excellent. I had Thom Kha and other half had Thom Yam soup to start. I had Phad Thai and he had green curry. Very nice food.

Although it is on the sweet side, it is very consistent with authentic Thai cuisine and is a must-try for those with Asian stomachs.

The food was great and the portions were certainly sufficient. We went for dinner and had the Chilli option which comes with a bunch of starters and with about 3 mains and a fried rice. The service was slow as there were only three waiters and the restaurant was packed. We had a reservation at 08.30 but had to wait for about 20 mins to get a table and there was no possibility of sitting till a table for prepared or vacant.

Great food, but very rushed. We were in and out in less than an hour, which would be ok if this was a cheap noodle bar, but for a restaurant where we wanted to chat and spend an evening it was poor.

Went here for my girlfriend birthday and food was OK but the service was terrible! The waiters did not smile once and did not talk to us until it was time to pay, then they was acting like our best friends! Maybe for a tip. Plus when serving the food to my table the 2 women waiters was banging the cutlery and plates on the table. One thing they did which I hate when eating out is the waiter came and took my plate away which I was eating from away when I still had food in my mouth and didn't even ask if I had finished!

We ordered a takeaway, so disappointed. Everything was precooked, coagulated and not good at all. We were a group of 7, celebrating my husbands birthday. The rice was awful, curries runny and generally poor. It used to be good but will not be going back.

The Thai emerald is everything you want in a Thai restaurant. Great food, authentic music, helpful and lovely staff and great decor. This is one of my go to places in Cirencester for food. Best place to park is in sheep street as it is only a short walk to the restaurant.

Delicious food, quick service, beautiful restaurant! Shared the banquet 'Favourite' spread between 3, a great mixture of dishes n pretty presentation. The chicken satay was gorrrrgeous on the starter, the roast duck on the main is still making my mouth water to just reminisce. Apt prices!

I cannot recommend this place enough!! The food is so delicious. We had chicken pad Thai and massaman curry. I love Thai food and this is one of the best places I have eaten. The staff are also so lovely and the service was fantastic.

We were struggling to book a table as the phone lines were busy, when we arrived the owner apologised for being so rushed as they were running on half staff, you really couldn't tell! Amazing service and fantastic food!

I eat here often and it's friendly with excellent food. Closed Mondays but good for any other day of the week.

Service was fine, but the food was quite bland. I got the 105 (Crispy Tofu and Aubergine) and it just tasted like it was covered in syrup which was quite unpleasant. Also said it was slightly spicy but all I could taste was sugar. The Tom kha kai soup was reasonably good and definitely did taste like lemongrass/lime etc.

The food here is incredible and the waiters are really friendly. We had a young child with us and they made her feel very welcome. The food comes out quickly and stays warm on the table. Lots of choice and clear options for vegans/veggies.

Overall great food, especially the curries - some of the best I've had in England. Quick and good service.

The panang curry was amazing! The jasmine rice was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed several cups of hot tea.

Food is very good, but prices have shot up. It will have to be a treat now, not a regular night out. Plus, they have put a service charge on top of the bill.

Lovely atmosphere, staff were attentive and professional., not pushy happy to help if required. The food WELL that was just delicious couldn’t ask for better, wonderful flavours, noodles were cooked to perfection. Looking forward to my next visit.

I can only comment about the service as we left before sitting down. We were not acknowledged when we entered (two employees looked and both looked away), and then we were treated as if they were doing us a favour by serving us. The attitude was awful. Unfriendly, curt and unpleasant. We were shown to a table but decided we wanted to spend our money elsewhere rather than be treated poorly. We left before sitting down. The waiter did not seem to understand when I told him why he had upset us. Too arrogant, I suspect.

A group of us went out to the Thai restaurant on Friday night. Staff were amazing. They accommodated an extra four people in a group. Food was incredible. Can’t wait to go back again

Came here for our anniversary ( which we advised about when booking ) although the food was not bad and plentiful - we felt very rushed in and out within an hour not really how we wanted to spend an anniversary meal - the service was not great we was trying to speak to our waitress who just nodded each time but surprisingly when it came to the bill she was able to tell us service was not included!! But rude !! A bit disappointed - as wanted to make this a bit special - (they did not ) it’s fine if you want to be in an out quickly though. And we did leave a tip!’

Well presented and authentic restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and had efficient service throughout. Good wine (Sauvignon blanc). We were spoiled for choice with what we wanted to order but settled on duck and shiitake mushroom spring rolls and honey sesame prawns to start; both delicious. We had beef Penang, sweet and sour chicken, pad Thai (excellent) and rice. Very full but very delicious !

The food itself was quite tasty – the chicken cooked with Thai basil and fresh chillies was delicious and the green curry was fragrant with coconut milk and fresh Thai basil. However, the service completely soured what should have been an enjoyable dinner. Our waiters were shockingly grumpy throughout the evening. They slammed plates down on the table without a word. When we asked questions about the menu or made modifications to our order, they seemed annoyed. Worst of all, they made several mistakes with our order but refused to apologize or even crack a smile when we pointed out the incorrect dishes. The wrong items just sat there getting cold while we waited and waited for replacements. When we asked one waitress for some chilli oil, she said they’d run out. Guessing she was just being lazy, we asked another who brought it, albeit without any enthusiasm whatsoever. No matter how we approached them politely, they remained miserable. It's truly too bad because the food at this Thai restaurant is quite good. However, I cannot recommend it due to the unacceptable service. The owners need to do some training with the wait staff on basic etiquette and customer satisfaction. Until major changes are made, I'll be taking my Thai food cravings elsewhere.

Speed of service left us uneasy. Food was ok but nothing special. Service very friendly and efficient. Parking 100yds away. All in all not bad but we've had far better Thai meals.

Family meal (Cirencester) we were very much looking forward too and the food was very disappointing and below expected standard for the price. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and I will not return unless they improve the cooking. The Pad Thai was covered in sugary sauce in soggy noodles and the green curry had tasteless chicken with minimal veg. We told staff the food was not as good as it was in the nicest way we could but according to a member of staff no one else had complained that evening so it was shrugged off. We paid our bill in full but I strongly believe that was not handled in a professional way. You have lost our custom, a really shame it was an amazing place to eat.

A little dissapointing given reputation for best Thai in Wiltshire, felt starters tasted very bland, mains were nice, but service was not great ( wrong drink delivered and when we questioned the expression was a little confused and when replaced the comment was " this should be right" ) all in all a little underwhelming - but very busy so you need to book.

Takeaway was awful and the curry I ordered was like water. Guy who took our order was abrupt and was really rude. Would not recommend this place if your visiting from London. It’s not authentic thai food!

What an amazing place. The decor is stunning and the food is excellent. It centrally located so it is perfect for a night out out!!! I was with my partner who is veggie and there was a good selection which tastes great. For the meat eaters out there the selection was amazing. They have a large menu so be prepared to spend ages choosing your dishes 🤣 For 2 it was £60 and that included starter, main and drinks. They catered for small groups like our (4) and we saw bigger groups too. It still had an intimate feel and I can't imagine roudy tables being tolerated for too long!! Would definitely recommend

Thai home style cooking and super fast service. Very impressed with quality of dishes.

Food was absolutely delicious, some of the best we've had. The menu had great variety, and prizes were good. Portions are a bit small but this does mean one can try as many dishes as possible (starters, mains, sides, etc). Service was very quick as we managed to sit, order, eat, finish and pay in about 30 mins. Place was very clean and staff very friendly. Highly recommend!

Visited on a Saturday night with some friends and had an amazing time. The food was fantastic, as a vegetarian there were enough options which all sounded amazing. The decor is great, with wood carvings and marble sink in the toilet as well. Service as very attentive, no complaints what so ever. Highly recommend Thai Emerald for a good night out with great food.

Ornate carvings throughout the restaurant which sets it apart from so many other Thai restaurants - beautiful setting and excellent service. Delicious food with a good range of banquet menus to choose from. Always great when food 'looks' good - pleasing to the eye - and doesn't disappoint the taste buds either! Also had 0% beer - which is a plus for those who would like the taste of the drink without the after effects!

Good menu with sufficient vegetarian and vegan options. Service could have been improved with food and drinks taking a while to arrive, but when it did the food was good. We had a reservation too, however didn't appear that we'd have a problem in being seated even if we hadn't.

From the lavish wood carvings that cover every surface to the fantastic food, dining at the Thai Emerald was a memorable experience. Plus the service was very efficient and courteous. Probably the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to.

Visited this restaurant with a young child and we were made fantastically welcome from the get go. The interior itself makes it worth a visit (closest you’ll get to Thailand without going to Heathrow), but coupled with the top service and food, this place is a compulsory stop for anyone in town. There is an extensive menu, serving consistently great food. The staff are efficient and friendly- a kind man gifted my son a little airplane toy to keep him amused throughout. 10/10

We are a family of five visiting from Los Angeles where we have many good Thai restaurants. We decided to give this one a try, and it did not disappoint.

I ordered a take away pad Thai and beef massaman. To be honest, after eating a lot of Thai food… probably the worst pad Thai I have had in a long time maybe ever. On top of that the box it came in was literally half full. The massaman was also very average with chewy thin beef and watery sauce. The place looks cool and the staff seemed nice.

I went there with my family and we were compelled to leave as the staff was very rude. One of us only wanted few sides as a main and apparantely that wasn’t allowed. One of us asked if it was ok to add tofu to a vegan dish and that made the waiter very annoyed. Besides that, we weren’t also allowed to choose only a main, you had to order a side with it as well. But the worse was that the waiter seemed to think she should choose the dishes we would eat. No need to say that we had to leave.

We walked Cirencester looking for a Thai restaurant so was really please to finally find this one and it didn't disappoint. Firstly, the Decor is incredible in this please, it really is a credit to the theme of it all. the chairs were solid wook and must have weighed a tonne, had a job to slide then lol. Food was fantastic, great food good wine great location fab night out. Thoroughly recommend this one ten times over!!
