Firstly, food was excellent, we had chicken and veg. Service left a lot to be desired.... Waitress had no knowledge of alcohol free beers, my wife nearly got served a half of Guinness in an Irish coffee glass and I was charged for two halves of beer instead of a pint ( 2 halves being more expensive than a pint). Needless to say , we didn't pay the service charge. The manager sorted out the issues and said he would have words .

It took too long to be seated - we hadn't booked and there was quite a slow check in of asking our names and email address when we'd just wandered in for lunch (why?). We left the young woman to it before any more questions and computer navigation was needed. Part of the main and one of the desserts came out five minutes after the other food, though the food we had was tasty. I ordered a side of fries because when I asked the waitress if the fish stew came with potatoes, she said no, it was just a mixture of fish. Actually it came with new potatoes, tenderstem and just salmon pieces, si side order not needed. It's quite pricey - £42 for an 8oz steak, £32 for braised beef shin, and a whopping £17 for a leaf salad with a few almonds, though the set menu is good value. It was very quiet in there. Had I have paid the bill I would certainly have deducted the 12% or so automatic service charge. I think maybe they were short staffed today.

Lovely food, great staff, but prepare to starve. The portions looks like starters for the price you pay. £28 for two potatoes cut in half and a small, very small piece of fish. It's a shame because it was beautiful cooked and very taste. That's the reason for 3 stars.

A slightly frustrating experience, although we (2 persons) were relaxed and forgiving. First sign was that a simple request for a jug of water took too long to arrive. The Thai main did not have any rice; the staff explained that it came with potatoes, but even that did not materialise, it came with cubed veggies. The greens were overcooked. We could not eat the lovely sauce with just a knife and fork. We ordered chips, which were good, but not great to absorb the sauce. My partners beef long cooked cut was good but not intense, as long cooked meet can be. The side salad was dressed in a sweet vinegrette, which was surprising. The kitchen is open plan, and they seemed to be making a lot of smoke, frying beef cuts, I guess. There is a piece missing to the jigsaw here. A lot of investment has gone into this restaurant, but they need someone to come in and tell them the details that are wrong. No rice in a Thai curry, oddly fluted water glasses, the wine glasses left on the table even after we said we were not ordering wine, oddly distracted staff who at the same time seem to be doing a great job. So it's a high rating, hoping that they sort out the details on final delivery.

Situated within another building, the Corn Market, it is a clean looking, well set out restaurant. We booked for 6 people for lunch. Parking on street available. We were welcomed and shown by a pleasant lady to our seats. The service was efficient and performed in a friendly manner. All our party used the smaller menu of the day which was good, well cooked food at reasonable prices. We would use here again

The service was slow even though there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. The food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the soup and I have a strong suspicion that it was premade store bought. The risotto was a wonderful texture but the only flavor that was discernible was the incredibly overpowering blue cheese, which I normally love. The Eaton mess was also made with caned peaches and fruit compote, again leaving us disappointed. My dining companion ordered the pork chop and enjoyed it, though it was overly charred. Overall not a great time and I left with a stomach ache. For the price, the food should have been better in my opinion.

We spoke to the waiter/waitress we had 2 or 3 look after us. Although very pleasant, no one came back to us to acknowledge our issues with the food. I’d avoid. Steak was ordered medium rare and was well done and not very flavourful. Staff was aloof and inattentive. They didn’t check in to see if we wanted anything (my girlfriend wanted mayonnaise for her chips). And didn’t look when we tried to get their attention. One let a dog jump all over her and grabbed and pet it. Then went to the kitchen, handled food and drink all night and never washed her hands. Disgusting, honestly. The view is a fluorescent mall. There are a wealth of better places nearby that I’d recommend over here.

Came here for lunch. The food I had was good, but it took ages. 30 mins for a burger from a place that markets itself as a bistro/brasserie is not what I expect. All in all I was there for 45 mins and only had time for one course, which was a pity as the desserts looked good. There weren’t enough wait staff, and several tables around me were complaining of waiting too long too, or getting the wrong orders. Most customers were also wearing jackets and hats, as it was chilly inside. I pointed the wait out to the manager when I left, I got a dismissive sorry/not sorry excuse that ‘yes 30 mins is long for a burger, but it’s fresh, no pre-prep, and btw we have 10 other servings before you(!)’. He basically said it was my fault for expecting a certain standard, and not appreciating the work that goes into it… clearly, they know how to make customers feel valued! To top it, he said he hoped I’d come back when I had more time! Not likely, there’s plenty of better, nicer and warmer places in Cirencester. A pity, as I like to support local businesses, but this isn’t it.

Unfortunately the experience was let down by very poor service, waitress kept us waiting to take orders , had to chase , no follow up and mixed up orders , it wasn't busy and even the bill was very slow coming and I found the 15% fixed service charge a bit much as probably would not have tipped the waitress's. Our visit here was very hit and miss. We had dinner here two consecutive nights as we stayed at the attached hotel. The food was excellent...once you get it. Service was slow, we waited 20 mins just to order drinks and the waitress kept saying she'd be with us in a minute.....there was only 3 other tables of people so not busy. We ordered 2 cokes both got diet cokes. When we asked for water for the table we were given a bittle of sparkling water that had gone flat (you can kind of taste it!). On both nights we visited half of the menu was not available. On our last night there I nearly broke my tooth when finding a small piece of shot in the duck I was eating. Like I said, food was amazing but everything else was a bit shoddy. This place has potential but I wouldn't go back.

Good starters, but indifferent main courses made this a disappointing experience, especially at nearly £100 for two with no desserts, though 2 glasses of wine. First course mussels were very good, but main course pork was underseasoned and tough, the saucing frankly weird, while one main ingredient in the fish main was completely absent, and we had not been informed of this when ordering. A very small discount didn't really compensate for the disppointment. Service (friendly and informal) is included, so I was more than a little surprised to be asked if I wanted my change.

I don’t like complaining but sadly this was our second visit to this restaurant (the first visit was amazing so we came back) and it was so disappointing! The staff were friendly but literally abandoned us after our main course. It took over 2 hours to get a starter, main and dessert bearing in mind we sometimes actually had to grab their attention as we had been sat for over half an hour at one point. Really frustrating as it ate into our evening (no pun intended). Me and my partner went for a valentines meal and last year we got a special menu, free heart cookies etc. Of course it’s fine they didn’t do it this year but it was really nice. The food and drink came to a crazy price as well, I’ve never paid as much as we have for what we had and the service charge was awful, considering they abandoned us after we had the main. Sadly probably won’t be coming back here again, despite recommending it to everyone after the first great experience. Sorry.

Front of house staff are good. Zero buzz from the open kitchen, which explains the very slow appearance of our food. It took 30 minutes to receive our nibbles, a trio of deep fried oysters. These were supposed to come with yuzu mayo but it was actually Ponzu mayo and sesame oil. (My wife is Japanese and she knows the difference.) Another 35 minutes wait for the mains. The fish stew was good but overpriced for the portion size, for instance there was only one prawn in it. My burger came with a cold bun. I sent it back. It came back with a hot bun and lukewarm pattie. I refused it and went hungry. Also, the pattie was ready-made. I saw them unwrapping it in the open kitchen. My creamed spinach was massively over seasoned. I sent it back. The replacement was fine but hardly a meal. I appreciate that the hospitality industry has had a bad three years and it's going on, however the way to get customers back is not to skimp on quality. This was the first day of their new menu. They blew it. Very disappointing, we won't be back.

After a long drive from London and visiting the Cotswolds (from New York City) for the first time - MBB Brasserie did not kick off my trip in a pleasant way - mainly because of the service. I'm not sure if there was a recent change in management but it was not cozy and the staff all seemed scattered. No one was aligned. 1) 30 min wait time for carrot soup 2) My server didn't check in on me to see if I wanted to order more even though I had mentioned that I would want more than carrot soup - I had to follow up with her 3) Everyone around me received a bottle of tap water, I was not offered this - I had to ask for it - I was given a glass of water 3) I asked her to clarify what the mussels main dish was and she said fries were included (I didn't know "mussels main" meant "large size" - maybe it's a language barrier or I'm tired from the drive - but it would have been helpful if she clarified what's included (small vs large) instead of rushing thru it. I don't know her name but she had glasses. They adjusted the bill and the fries were good. But I'm giving it 2 stars because the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

We had been on our feet for hours and would of been willing to sit at a table and wait with a drink, although the offer was not made. I found the staff member very rude and short. The food itself is fairly average and we thought that some dishes like the various tapas style dishes we tried didn't taste great and were dissapointing. So i got really excited for everything else, and thats when it all went downhill... the calamari was easily the worst i have ever tasted, plain, oily and frankly had no flavour except for grease. Much like the salad it came with. The steak was better but not by much. The dessert was a pleasant experience not the best i have ever had but you could do worse. Overall it comes down to "would i recommend this place?" And the answer is no. But if you MUST go... just order the mussels and the Panacota and dont expect much from anything else.

Despite there being more staff than customers no one came over to check everything was ok. After ordering desserts the chef placed them on the side but it took five minutes for any serving staff to bring them to our table. The biggest shock though was the bill. I cannot believe that one large glass of white wine (which wasn’t even very cold) can cost over £11.00 a glass. The calamari was perfectly prepared but there was very little in the plate. 5 pieces of calamari was not enough in my view when it is meant to be the main ingredient in the plate. I ordered a side dish of buttered greens which was nicely prepared. on the other hand friends ordered the honey roast ham /egg/salad/chips. the portionwas generous, but i did not find the ham as amazing as the name suggested. i did not try the seafood stew, It looked genuine, like a French Bouillabaisse. Had a lovely meal here for my wife's birthday. Keira, our waitress was a real gem and an asset to the business. Food was delicious and staff super friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again when I'm back in the area

Stopped in for lunch today at this buzzing brasserie. We had a table for two by the window, looking out to the covered mall which was a great spot for people watching. I ordered the mushroom and truffle ravioli, whilst my partner ordered the wagu burger. My ravioli was, by far, the tastiest I've eaten. The glowing morsels were coated in a perfectly buttery sauce, grated parmesan and rocket. The juicy burger was served in a brioche bun with all the trimmings and a little pot of chips. We were left with enough room for a velvety chocolate and passion fruit tart, served with blood orange sorbet. My other half had a steaming apple and berry crumble with vanilla ice cream. Our accompanying wine was just right, served in chunky goblets, our food served on rustic ceramic and a wooden board. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We'd go back!

Service poor - took 15 mins to get glass of wine and not busy. Was told to wait for table service - nothing happened . Went to bar and ordered . Staff dismissive. Will not return.

We visited jacks 2 days ago actually, impressed when they gave me a separate Free From menu (I’m lactose tolerant). Food came quickly, staff friendly. Really enjoyed it. Went back today and had a completely different experience sadly. We ordered similar meals but one was from the Free From menu minus hollandaise sauce. Guess what? Both came WITH hollandaise sauce. Foreign waitress clearly didn’t understand. Plate eventually removed and had to wait another 10 minutes while hubby started his food. Not impressed as he specifically said one from Dairy Free menu! They were clearly having a bad day as one couple left without having their coffees and they got another food order wrong.

Can’t fault the surroundings and helpful receptionist. Restaurant wise it was far from what we expected, inattentive and food was mediocre. You could do so much better than this with good management, I echo a lot of these reviews.

Our regular pub/bar/restaurant in Cirencester. We live locally and love a visit to The Fleece. Great service- table only. Food is of high quality and consistent. We love coming here and seeing the waiting staff who make it so enjoyable. A particular mention for my favourites; Fran, George, Tonia, Andre, Zee.
