TGI Fridays - Telford in Telford and Wrekin

I recently visited TGI Friday's in Telford with my two kids, and we had a lovely time! The food was good. While it was a bit quiet since we went early in the evening, the service was excellent, especially when it came to accommodating the kids

Slow service. No peas for child, with no substitute offered. 3 guests served, while 4th waited an extra 15 minutes - for a burger! Sugar overload on child's dessert, while adult sundae was inedible (removed from bill, thank you). Fortunately, the ribs were delicious, or this would be 2 star rating. You are struggling, tgif. Only 1/3 full on a busy Saturday lunch time. Get a grip.

Food was amazing, drinks were fab and Eli our server was the absolute best. Nothing was too much for them. 100% 5 stars!!!

Luke with the brown hair was great, quick and efficient service would defo come again if i was guaranteed to be served by him!

Horrendous service. Only 6 tables being served in the whole restaurant took us 10 minutes to be seated then another 20 mins to get one out of three drinks. Ended up paying for the one drink and leaving before even ordering food. Terrible customer service.

Good but not great. First time visiting a TGI’s in about 10 years. No peas, no mozzarella sticks, no strawberries, no banana no berries. So didn’t massively affect what we ate but did have to change children’s order. Were there for a birthday which was mentioned on booking but nothing was done that was special so I didn’t know if I missed something. Staff were friendly and patient and there was a good deal on 2 for 1 cocktails!

First time visiting a TGI and it wasn't a great first impression. It was fairly quiet when we arrived and taken to our table maybe 8 other tables filled, 10 minutes later a server appeared to take drink and by this point food orders. Almost £30 for a sirloin steak, and upgrading to the surf n turf for an additional £5 gets you three shrimp added to your meal. The food is nice dont get me wrong but its nothing spectacular. Even with how hard inflation is hitting businesses this neal out still felt overpriced at nearly £100 for two people The staff are all polite.

We had three of the smash burgers and they were borderline inedible, the fries were good but the burger was burnt and extremely salty. I only ate half before giving up, we were quite hungry so we gave them a go but it was really disappointing. We weren’t checked on till we were finished despite being one of only two tables in the restaurant, so we just tried to get on with it. We are not ones to complain but mentioned the saltiness and there wasn’t really any effort to apologise so we just paid and left to have a drink elsewhere. With the heating being broken, I don’t even know why they bothered staying open

Unbelievably overpriced food, much better value from some places close by. Service is good and friendly staff here but starters all going on £10 each for maybe 3 items on the plate and burgers all almost £20 each. Dear night out nowadays for a known chain

Extremely expensive hamburger, so-so prices are sky high It's so cold inside that you have to stay in jackets, the only word is crap!

I recently had a disappointing experience at your restaurant last week, due to the service provided by a waiter named Sarah. From the moment we were seated, Sarah was extremely pushy. She rushed us through our orders, constantly suggesting more expensive items, and seemed impatient when we needed more time to decide. This aggressive approach made our dining experience uncomfortable and unenjoyable. I hope management can address this issue to ensure better service in the future.

Caitlin was very friendly, efficient, attentive and welcoming. We unanimously agreed (a party of 7) that we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We would all return here again!

We dropped in to this restaurant on an off chance after doing some Christmas shopping Telford shopping centre - all other restaurants near by were full but we were able to get a table at TGI’s without problem! We were greeted and shown to our table by some of the very nice and friendly waiting staff. Our starters came quickly, they were ok but served cold. Our main meal came, my wife had the steak (£28) and I had the chicken burger (£20). On the side of both meals was some very thin & salty fries. My wife’s steak was a very thin minute steak, which she ordered medium-rare (it came well done) and was tough and chewy (this was £28). I had the chicken burger, I cut it in half and it was clear to see that it was very under cooked and not far off raw in the middle (this was £20) - I called the waitress over and she agreed that it wasn’t cooked, and it was duly sent back. By the time it had come back my wife had eaten half of her meal and left the rest due to poor quality of steak and side salad. On checking out my returned meal I could see that my chicken had been sliced in half and re-cooked, and this time it was over cooked. The bill came and before I could complain the waitress had said that she would remove the burger off the bill, which I was relatively pleased with - final bill was still over £80. Overall not a pleasant experience at TGIs and regret walking in to this place - and also worth adding is that it was very cold in the restaurant as well, which made it uncomfortable to be in there, didn’t remove our jackets - I now know why we was able to walk in and get a table straight away! I have been in other TGIs up & down the UK and they have been a really good experience, however my review of the Telford TGI’s is the complete opposite, I will never go to this restaurant again, this has to be one of the worst meals we have ever experienced eating out - the only saving grace was how friendly and helpful the young lady (waitress) was who server us!

Great place to have a meal with friends or family and definitely both at the same time.

I recently visited TGI Fridays Telford, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. First, We ordered two burgers, and both came with burned meat, which was a real letdown. I also requested a Coke refill twice, but despite the restaurant not being busy at all—there were plenty of empty tables—I never received it. To make matters worse, they still tried to charge me for the refills, which felt frustrating and inconsiderate. Additionally, the temperature was uncomfortably cold inside, making it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. Considering how empty the place was, it was surprising that the service and ambience didn't meet expectations. Overall, it was a lacklustre visit, and I was left disappointed by both the food and service.

The service we received from Samara was exceptional. Whenever we needed a top of of drinks they were brought to the table without even asking! Food was top notch. Never eaten so much chicken was just amazing and every plate was so full as well! Would come back 100%

Luke was a gracious and welcoming host. The drinks were plentiful and delicious, the chicken strips tender and crisp. A thoroughly successful bottomless brunch, we recommend it but only if Luke is on shift <3

Food was good enough, bit spenny though. Atmosphere was alright for half 2 on a Saturday. My left sock had more charisma than our server. I'm surprised he knew how to breath without having to ask someone.

Visited on a Wednesday evening. Quiet atmosphere but very attentive staff. Especially Caitlin our waitress. Good was impeccable. Refillable soft drinks. Couldn’t fault it.

Should've gone to maccies! Same amount of food and quality for half the price! First and last time I'll go to a tgi Fridays. The chicken strips were ok, but for £20 the fries were cold and hard, and get more at mc Donald's. Honestly disappointed with the quality of the food for the amount I paid!

Has gone downhill from when it opened which is a shame as we love TGI'S

Very good customer service considering we turned up with a table of 13 people without prior booking. We were made welcome and given the option to order on the app so that we could split our bill easier - this was fab for the size of the group but did mean our food came out at different times to eachother. The table we were at was big enough for all of us to be able to chat to eachother without disturbing other tables and we thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. Thank you to the staff who looked after us on Sunday 27/10/24.

We ordered for delivery TGI Fridays for lunch today. It was awful. Couldn't eat it. The food was burnt and the hot dogs were old and hard to bite. Disgusting!!!!

Very expensive not much food for the cost

Came here for food and had Caitlin as our waitress. Food was really nice, all staff were friendly but caitlin was great, every restaurant needs a waitress like caitlin we will definitely be coming back again if she is working she really made our night!

The girl who served us (Caitlin I believe) was incredibly polite. Her service felt very accommodating, and it completed the experience overall.

Staff were pleasant enough but service quite slow and wasn't that busy. The price for food is way above what it should be. I had a glazed chicken burger which was ok but the fries were way to salty. Couldn't eat them all. When asked why so much salt. Was informed it was seasoning. No it was too much salt. Will not go back again.

Edit: Dropping to 2 stars! 2-for-1 cocktails is an absolute joke when they charge you £16 for 1 cocktail!! This place is just a rip off. Save your money and eat somewhere else. --- Never been to a TGI Friday before so was looking forward to trying it. It was OK. Food was nice enough but nothing special. Seemed to have a long wait for everything (including the bill at the end of the meal) even though it was fairly quiet. Seemed quite expensive too. Will probably go again, but not overly fussed about it.

Ok food Great service Little pricey for what it is

Not one for reviews but credit where it's due. Visited on Friday and was served by Steve. We received efficient, friendly and helpful service. All staff were proactive and made us feel welcome. I ordered sesame chicken which was delicious. Portion was large for me (and I have a good appetite). They catered for our daughter's allergies very well. They even adapted a dessert she wanted so that she could enjoy a 'proper pudding' - most restaurants nearby don't accommodate her dietary needs, so she was over the moon. Will definitely be visiting again, thank you!

I recently visited TGI Fridays and had a great time! The food was amazing as always. Special thanks to Jack, our server, who was fantastic. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Jack’s excellent service definitely made the visit more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

My meal was horrible was cold and chicken was full of oil I did have 10% discount but think I should have had a full refund I left most of it

Went here with my mom yesterday and food was lukewarm at best her burger was covered in grease and tasted funny Not a great experience at all Really disappointing as we went to the same restaurant last year and it was great Waiter knocked 10% off the bill when we complained We normally have pudding after aswell but we didn’t bother

Lovely food and drink. We were served by Jordan M who checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Atmosphere, as always, chill and relaxed. Very lovely evening.

Very basic menu. Nothing jumped out as something I would choose to it. The sesame chicken I chose was nice and fries, coleslaw and dip were very tasty. Quite pricey for what it was and service was really slow. Took a while to take our order for both drinks and food. We almost left but did not wait long for food to arrive after our order was taken. Staff were friendly

We went as a last minute decision to TGI’s telford because we were in the area for my son’s birthday. The staff were absolutely amazing and because my son had told the lady it was his birthday when he walked in, they all surprised him with a slice of birthday cake and signing 🥳 They made him feel that bit more special and it was very much appreciated! Thank you to the staff working the lunch time shift on 07/09/2024! Fab team 🫶🏻

Went here for mother in laws birthday! Food was fantastic and Carl couldn't do enough for us and was very attentive and very friendly! Would defo come back here again in a heartbeat!

Tuesday nite was dead but its Tuesday nite and kids go back to school so Early nite.

Carl was amazing and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, give Carl a raise!! The food was amazing and the service made the atmosphere entirely welcoming!

The food was really nice, the service was not. We had a starter then waited and waited for the main, maybe half hour passes still nothing. The first waiter that took our order, trying to be cocky and acting effeminate more than doing his job never put the main through Waiting to order more drinks he just kept waking past. I was going to walk out. My gf spoke to another waiter who was super helpful and got our dinner and more drinks. His customer service was outstanding We go to TGI each time we're in Telford but never again now

The best cocktails and the best milkshakes!!!

Overpriced and underwelming food. Chicken dry, salad very expensive for a few leaves. Just go for a drink and eat elsewhere.

TIP: you must ask for the special menus as it is clear having visited occasionally over the last few years that it's a deliberate policy from all staff to only give you the full priced menus. It's an awful attitude and must be called out. Service was mixed. Greeted fine on arrival but had to call over a lady to take our order - 20 mins after being seated and ignored. Order mixed up but they sorted. Got over charged for the wrong drink - again we had to raise it to sort it. Took forever to get the right bill. Food is OK but overpriced if paying full menu pricing. Been visiting occasionally over the years and there is always something that doesn't go right here - it's doing well to remain operational as you don't feel an urge to recommend it or return.

Awful service. Waited for over an hour for a salad and burger then had to leave before it arrived.

Walked in. We were seated ok, although at a dirty table. We were given menus and then just left. We tried to get the waitresses' attention, but after 15 minutes of waiting to be served, we got up and walked out.

Staff were much more interested in attaching balloons to a balloon arch (at peak Saturday lunchtime). Ordering took a long time - we had to grab the attention of a waitress walking past, as otherwise we'd have been waiting even longer. Food took a very long time to arrive. We were seated near the entrance and it was uncomfortably cold and drafty because both entrance doors were propped open. The atmosphere was lacking - not helped by a balloon blowing machine being switched on periodically, which was about as loud as a vacuum cleaner. (Perhaps they could sort out balloons before they open if they are so important? 🙄) The food was completely mediocre. Prices were disproportionate to the overall experience (mains start at approx £20).

Food is way over priced, all from the freezer to microwave people who like TGI’s have no taste buds. Over priced and service was very slow. Miller around the corner has better food, service and done by an actual chef. Amazing how they are still open

Here we go....table booked for 7.30pm for family of four ...8pm and still waiting...the rest of our friends were seated within 2 minutes of coming but they seemed to struggle to find a table for us or perhaps were a bit slow....anyhow after 8pm we took the matter into our own hands and put two tables together got some drinks and ordered food which was about 25-30 minutes waiting but it was good especially missus loaded chilli 🍟🍟🍟I opted for vegan tacos which were satisfyingly sufficient and ok price wise💪...would I come back again? No....but the decor and decorations are truly U.S.A. in every detail so nice one folks👍

Amazong service here today, me and my wife had the bottomless chicken! Carl was top class! before I even finished my plate a fresh one was there ready to go! Same with the drink refils.. all the staff were excellent and the food was amazing!! Be coming again for sure..

I had a lovely meal today at Telford Fridays. Carl our server was lovely. Food, drinks and service was fast. Food was delicious. All the staff were friendly. I would highly recommend. Thankyou to all the staff today especially Carl :)

We ordered both sharing platters, and well half the chicken was not edible dry, burnt, the mozzarella sticks were cooked that much there was nothing left inside! Chips cold and mac and cheese was dry no sauce and cold!!! Serving staff were amazing !

The staff went out of their way to help us despite there only being 2 of them covering the tables and the bar. Our daughter has intolerances and quite often has to miss out on things but they went above and beyond creating a special drink for her while her brothers had milkshakes. She felt really special and really loved it.

They were very polite especially the lovely lady Caitlin.

This is a nice TGI's branch compared to others I've seen . It's unbelievable how expensive it is , but I guess that's just 2024 for you. Nice food and good service, shout out to Samara for swapping out our sons Garlic bread which had come out burnt even though the kitchen had no other food to cook 🤷. Other than the price , this was a good experience.

The food wasn’t too bad, it’s the same whichever TGI you go to let’s be honest. Didn’t order anything too extravagant so it wasn’t possible to mess up anyway. The only thing that stood out here was the poor service from staff. Seems like they just hire kids that aren’t at all interested. As soon as we entered we waited by the bit you’re meant to wait at to be seated, I’m not even exaggerating we stood there 15 minutes before being seated, it wasn’t even that busy and staff 100% knew we were there. No excuses. The only reason we stayed is because we were so hungry. Also slow to bring drinks, probably to stop you having as many free refills even though you’re actually paying for them, and slow to bring the bill. Shame really, it’s a nice building, nice interior, nice branding and a good menu. The NYC taxi outside is a nice touch too. Maybe if I’m in Telford again I’ll try once more, hopefully you can redeem yourselves.

Lovely restaurant. The decoration and atmosphere are great. Love the theme. Slightly expensive but nice as a treat out.
