Although the food was of its usual standard, the wait time was ridiculous. We were seated at 7:10pm and didn’t get our food until 8:20pm. Our drink order wasn’t even taken until 7:20pm. They were clearly understaffed and had a big party booking but this is still an unacceptable wait time. I love the food at TGI but this will affect my business there. All the staff seemed very stressed and I felt so sorry for them.

I've never seen a portion of fries so small, especially as I just paid £7 for them. They tasted great, but not worth that price. Also you can have refillable drinks unless you want a full fat coke then your not allowed, what an odd rule to have in place.

Wow. What can I say about the team at TGI Fridays West Quay. I had such a wonderful experience at this branch after just completing a 6 month cruise around Europe. Let’s start at the beginning. We were seated by a lovely ginger curly haired girl, by the name of Lauren. She explained to us that they had recently updated their menu, and asked us if we had any questions. We had a few, so she listened carefully and answered every one with a great enthusiasm. We were sat for a moment glancing over the menu, when our server approached us and asked us if we wanted any beverages. Our server, Ellie, was able to give us some fantastic recommendations for cocktails, as she explained she also doubles up as a bartender, not just a waitress! Wow! We opted for the raspberry ripple, as this was Ellies personal favourite, and we were not disappointed! We ended up having 3 each! My wife and I both decided on the new cheese donuts for a starter (another one of Ellie’s fabulous recommendations) which hit the spot! And then we both had the sesame chicken strips with loaded fries. I have always been more partial to a burger, though Ellie explained with a dazzling smile that the chicken strips were their most popular dish, and who are we to say no to that! I devoured every last morsel on the plate, and even joked with Ellie about needing seconds! Ha Ha! Overall I would love to say a great big thank you to Ellie and Lauren, and the lovely girl working on the bar, her name escapes me now, but great job on the cocktails - they were delectable! We will most definitely be returning, for the buzzing atmosphere, great tunes, great food and even better service! Do yourself a favour, and visit this branch! Thanks a bunch guys!

The place is falling to pieces. Ceiling had half the tiles missing exposing the dirty black vents. Half the lights either weren't working or had no light bowl like the others. Food is ridiculously expensive for what it is and what you get. Food tastes nice but not worth £20+

My first time dining at TGI Fridays, and I won't be returning! My kids wanted milkshakes, but we were only offered the £7 ones, not the cheaper options on the kids' menu that we later found out about. The milkshakes were served warm and looked nothing like the pictures. The food itself was poor and overpriced. We also were never told drinks were included with the kids meal deal. I was extremely disappointed to have spent over £80 on two adult meals, two kids' meals (one was free), and four drinks, none of which were worth the hefty price! Especially when you do not eat out that often, when you do its a treat and to be disappointed with the quality of food. Wish we went to McDonald’s!! Tried to find an official email address for customer service/head office in the uk but to no avail!!

Awful service, Food overpriced, Portions too small, Incorrectly labeled menu, Booking changed on our behalf, Toilets a biohazard, We visited your west quay restaurant on Sunday at 1:15 for my daughter's birthday.....where to start. I mentioned the birthday celebration when I booked however there was no mention of this when we arrived so why it's an option on your website when you book I'm not sure. We booked for 13.30 and got a confirmation email. Then I got another email moving my booking without asking just informing me of my new time 15 mins earlier, this was an issue as we were traveling from Dorset. We rushed to get there to find the restaurant relatively quiet so not sure why we were bumped? We then ordered food, my daughter has zero tolerance for spicy foods, I told her avoid anything with the spicy symbol. She chose sesame chicken no spicy symbol great. However these were unbearable as they have chilli flakes on them? Why no spicy symbol!!! We ordered the soft drinks with free refills, the first drinks must have taken at least 10mins to arrive, not cocktails-cokes! Then when we were half way through our meal we managed to order some refills and these turned up about 3 mins before the bill. Me and my wife both had the cheese burger. This was average at best and we got about 15 chips. You market yourselves as American dining and we got barely a handful of chips, has anyone in portion control ever been to the states???? Then we went to use the toilets. One of the men's cubicles had the door lock smashed of so it was in able to lock, and the other cubicle had feces down the front of the toilet, but that's not the best bit, my wife and daughter+friend informed me there was a toilet in the females that was full of fecesunable to flush and some wonderful person had, for want of a better word shit on the wall behind the toilet and it was all over the floor. Why would you not close this toilet? So to summarize, Awful service, Food overpriced, Portions too small, Incorrectly labeled menu, Booking changed on our behalf, Toilets a biohazard, If I could leave 0 stars I would. With so many places to choose from tgi's is failing and I urge you to go elsewhere..

Oliwia was the absolute meaning of Front of House perfection for us this evening. It was my birthday today and at first we had no plans to go out for dinner but unfortunately our plans for the evening had falling apart so my girlfriend decided to treat me to a birthday meal at TGI's. We were greeted by Oliwia and shown to our table, the restaurant at this point was it completely empty so we were given her complete undivided attention which didn't change later in the evening when a lot of other people started to show up to the restaurant. One thing that she had perfected that not many other people that work front of house have perfected even after many years of service is the amount of time she left us between ordering our drinks and our food and how much time she gave us to decide what we wanted if we were undecided. Silly as it sounds I am someone that suffers from severe Adult ADHD and Autism, this of course made my evening. Our food was brilliant, I had the gigantic mixed grill and my only complaint would be the chicken that was on the plate, it was so full of pepper I almost choked when I took the first bite, but I won't allow that small part to speak for the male as every other part of the meal was absolutely brilliant all the meat was cooked perfectly to how I asked it done. One thing that I will complain about but not allowed to change your star rating is the price one is expected to pay for your meals now I understand that TGI Fridays is not a High Street pub and is to be considered higher quality and thus higher price than most of you will find on the High Street. Fortunately we were able to take part in a promotion that restaurant was taking part in and that was for us to receive 20% off if we had valid cinema tickets from that day which we did. However even thinking that I would have been paying nearly £40 for what I would consider a medium to large sized mixed grill would be considered daylight robbery in some places. Same goes for your drinks, I am unable to drink diet drink such as diet coke or diet Pepsi due to that being a chemical called aspartame in there, I was upset to find that you only offer diet drinks or sugar-free drinks (which 99% of the time contain aspartame) on refills. Despite all of this I had the most incredible dining experience at TGI Friday's thanks to the exceptional service provided by Oliwia. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and genuine care for customers made her the best server I've encountered in Southampton. From the moment we arrived, Oliwia's warm welcome and knowledgeable recommendations set the tone for a fantastic evening. Her ability to anticipate our needs and provide impeccable service throughout our meal was truly impressive. I've never felt so well taken care of at a restaurant. Oliwia's outstanding service made our dining experience at TGI Friday's truly memorable. If you're looking for a top-notch server in Southampton, I highly recommend seeking out Oliwia.

Customer service was great and the food came out quickly. However, I ordered two sides instead of a main meal and the food I received was not great. I order Mac n cheese and the cheese was hard which I had to cut through to be able to eat. It was also very dry and seemed like it had been left out of the side and heated up. The chips I ordered were loaded and the portion size was great however the cheese was the same as the mac n cheese and was hard. It was peeling off the side of the bowl like plastic. 😪 so sad 💔

I went to TGI Fridays over the weekend for a meal, and at first, everything was going great. The service was solid, and the food was good too. But things went downhill toward the end of the night. One of the managers, a tall guy with dark hair and a beard, started shouting at the staff. And it wasn’t just once—I noticed him doing it a lot. It was really uncomfortable to watch, especially since most of the staff looked really young, like 16-19 years old. I felt bad for them because they were clearly working hard and didn’t deserve to be treated like that. It definitely put a damper on what had been a nice evening up until that point.

A truly terrible experience from the moment we were seated to the moment we left. At sitting, we were never told which items from the menu were not available. We were never asked what drinks we wanted to order. After 15 minutes of waiting I asked the waitress if she could take our drinks and food order and she told me “I will be there in two ticks”. Five minutes later she was aimlessly walking around so I called her over and asked again for our order to be taken. This time the waitress told me another lady is on her way over to our table. This lady was never seen. So, after another couple of minutes I called across the empty room for someone to take our order. A gentleman slowly approached. When taking our order, we asked for a child’s hot dog, to be told they don’t have that available. We ordered another child’s meal with peas, but of course there were no peas available. I asked why on earth we were not told what wasn’t available when being seated and he replied with “misinformation”. I explained it can’t be misinformation when there was zero information given. I was told we weren’t the only guests! You’ll see by my photos that apart from one other table, we were indeed the only other guests there. These photos are taken from both downstairs and upstairs. Food arrived and it was delicious - although my onion rings never came so I had to ask for them. The waitress checked the menu to see if I was right in asking for them. My wife and her best friends meal were cold to luke warm. The waitress was happy to warm them up but they had waited so long for the food they just wanted to eat it as it was and be gone. When paying the bill, I asked the waitress, Rebecca, what the gentleman’s name was and she said she wasn’t happy giving out names. I called him over and asked him his name and if he was the manager, he said his name is Josh and that he is the manager. I looked at Rebecca and said aren’t you supposed to give the managers name when a customer asks? She said she wasn’t comfortable doing it. An absolute joke from start to finish.

Where to start. Not explained what was missing from the menu waited 15 minutes at the table before asking staff to take our order. Then was told the items my son wanted were not available. Only have 3 family’s in so not busy. Waiters were rude and not very welcoming. Don’t know why we wasn’t told what’s not available. Food only warm not fresh kids meals were wrong and the steak was missing items. Tables from previous customers were left no one cleaning or re playing tables. No one there to take responsibility. I have 10 years management experience in the catering business so Really poor experience overall. Needs the manager to step up and take responsibility and support there staff?

All started well with a warm welcome from a manager and a trainee. Rebecca served us and took our drinks order quickly and they were very quickly at the table, food took a bit longer but was alright. We tried the sesame chicken and the large grill dish, everything was great however the steak was quite tasteless, maybe seasoning missing?? The real downside of our experience was the rude table next to us that unfortunately was next to us... they were being rude to our waitress and even to the manager just because what they wished was not available we heard most of what they said as they were loud, I've worked in hospitality myself and people like that should not be in a restaurant. We heard them being rude to our waitress and even to the manager because of something they couldn't do. They even started taking pictures of the tables that left to leave a bad review which is shameful when they could clearly see their waitress was busy. We were uncomfortable in this situation and felt really bad for the staff Service was great, thank you Rebecca x

6 years I have been working in food and hospitality and this has possibly the worse service I have ever seen! It started off strong, we were quickly seated and had our order taken. Once we received 2/3 of our meals, we assumed that the 3rd one for my toddler would arrive shortly after. After waiting around 15 minutes, we notice it would never arrive. Had a chat with the waiter after being walked past a couple times, seemed like our daughters meal forgot to get cooked! No sorry unfortunately, even substitute one of the sides without asking, just got told it would be with us in a couple of minutes. At this point my daughter didn’t want to eat anymore because she was exhausted. One point is that the food was bang on average even though it has a high price point in my opinion. Once we finished one of the waiters came to pick up our plates and this was the first time we asked for the bill. In the space of half a hour, we asked 3 times and the 4th time lucky we finally got it. This was part of the service which was so poor. It seem like they would rather stand there and ignore customers (even the tables around us got upset, one woman saying “can we finally get served?” jokingly).

Such a poor experience at this resturant today. The service staff seemed very stressed and somewhat rude if I'm honest. We were asked if we had a booking, and told 'we are only accepting bookings', so I went online with my phone, and as there were spaces I booked a table. Well, the server was furious, you would think they didn't want customers, she really kicked off to her colleagues, then made us wait for ages before coming over. The food took over 1 hour to arrive, it was cold, very poor quality, small and just NOT worth the money. I ordered the NY Strip (medium) with the Surf and Turf option, it cost me over £42 for a dry, small, and very overcooked steak, three prawns!! and some (handfull) of cold fries. I'll not be going back here again. Or to any other TGIs given my experience here. You would think somewhere so central and a chain such as this would be better. There are many other places to eat in the area, my advice, go somewhere else.

Wow, I had the most incredible experience at TGI Fridays thanks to the amazing waitress, Ellie! From the moment I sat down, Ellie went above and beyond to make my dining experience exceptional. She was not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, helping me choose the most delicious dishes. While savouring My meal, Ellie decides to showcase her hidden talent for napkin origami. She transforms her ordinary napkin into a miniature hat, complete with a quirky design. I found myself wearing this napkin hat throughout the meal, attracting amused glances from other diners. Ellie's unexpected napkin artistry added a touch of whimsy to your dining experience, making it a memorable and laughter-filled visit to TGI Fridays! People left standing at the entrance unsure whether to seat themselves. Staff at the back of the restaurant watching them for a few minutes before greeting them. Not busy, maybe 15 or so people already in the restaurant. We picked a round table but had to ask if it had been cleaned as it was visibly dirty. The waitress told us it had been cleaned and not to worry about those bits as they were stuck/dried on! The plate with the cutlery was bonded to the table to the point the knifes and forks went flying just trying to move the plate out of the way for the mains..... If it's like this out the front what state is the kitchen in?? I won't be risking rapid weight loss here again

Went on a hot summer Thursday evening and had pre booked an hour before to guarantee a spot. Good I did reserve a table as it was otherwise a 30 minute wait for a table, however there was a lady with an older lady in a wheelchair waiting Infront of us for at least 15 minutes, no visual indication of how long a table would be for walk ins. We saw people in Nandos next door being given a table immediately. While waiting, there was 3 waitresses to approx 40 tables downstairs, no manager in sight and two people in the kitchen, one bartender. We had pre-booked so we're immediately offered a table however at least 10 tables while we were waiting still had drinks, plates and dirty crockery still on them waiting to be cleared. When we did sit down (finally) we were sat next to a group of 6 teenagers and a family of 5, who were seated just after us but managed to get service 10 minutes faster than me and my partner. We mentioned a milk allergy and were guided to a QR code on the menu, however it was confusing and the only real dairy free options were salads, so I accepted my fate and got something with dairy cheese with the intention not to touch it. We were told that a manager would come and take our order, but she never turned up and had our order taken by a waitress with supposedly no idea of the serious dietary requirement on our table and didn't ask before we ordered to make sure, also guessing their was no note made on the system? My partner had the mozzarella dippers. I had a applejack cooler (cocktail) supposedly having lemonade in it, however there was no taste of it. just apple juice and rum in alot of ice. the marinara sauce with the dippers was just oil on the top, however the dippers were lovely and had an amazing cheese pull. our drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive from when they were ordered, and it was mostly water as mixer instead of apple juice and supposedly lemonade when it arrived as it took so long to be delivered to the table. Mains were ordered with the starter. The BBQ beef fajitas, the waitress had no idea they were even on the menu but when they came out had 4 small, cold tortillas with tiny pots of very spicy salsa (advertised as normal salsa), sour cream (which tasted rancid and acidic), some salad which was mostly onion and some cheese, which was plasticy, neon yellow and looked barely edible. Myself and my friend both noticed the meat not with it, so enquired and the waitress looked at them like they were retarded, rolled her eyes and said 'it comes seperately', so we waited another 5-10 minutes, to which it was a pile of raw red onion with green and red pepper on a extremely hot hot stone and about a cup and a half of mostly fatty and very chewy BBQ beef, however the bits that weren't fat was very tender and delicious. Alot of the meat in it was still bright red (like the inside of a steak cooked blue) and left me feeling very suspicious of how cooked it was and I walked away from the restaurant feeling very ill at the 'cooked' meat, later causing me to throw it back up when I got to the train station and still feeling ill all evening. the stone it came on was spitting as it arrived and you could have very easily have been burnt on it. After setting my fork on it for 30 seconds even 15-20 minutes after food arrived, the stone was still so red hot that I couldn't pick up my fork without burning myself. My friends burger looked okay, however had a very large gherkin in it and a very small portion of chips. when the waitress (or what was left of the 3 of them) finally took our plates, she rolled her eyes at my friend's half eaten burger and my untouched pepper and onion. The family next to us had a much better service and experience, however without discount were billed £200 and complained to the manager, who finally turned up. When we did get our bill, it was difficult to get the NHS discount. We paid £60 overall but I was shocked to find out that my 'cocktail' was £16 on its own with its price never being advertised. Paid and left and both of us walked away feeling ill.

The boneless hot wings had no sauce on them. The sesame strips have gone up from £15 to £20 in the last year. Portions are also smaller. Our waiter left before the end of the meal but no one took over so we sat their for half an hour waiting to get the bill. In the end I had to approach them. The increase in prices was the main issue without desserts a family of 4 we spent £120 plus which the year prior we could of had dessert also for that price. I understand prices rise but £5 for a small portion of fries. We won't be returning

Worst trip ever, we came in for dinner for my partners birthday, starter was okay apart from the chicken wings all completely stuck together, weve then had the ultimate ribs which were burnt and dry, and the cheese dipper burger which was dry and the bun was soggy, server didnt check on us at all during our meal which was disappointing, we wont be going back again

Avoid at all cost ! Abby ? Tgi’s is this your manager ? Working on the industry myself for several years I was shocked with the service provided at this restaurant. I feel really bad for the staff member that was working literally by herself earlier this week. Luckily we realised the struggles that she was facing and asked her for her managers name. It was not even food or drinks related, it was the negligence from the team that ruined the whole experience. Whilst you could see the only staff member clearly overwhelmed and doing her best under the circumstances, meanwhile the other completely idle. It’s things like this that ruin a restaurant. The service was very slow, and it was clear the staff member was stretched too thin to provide the quality service we expected. Definitely not returning to this restaurant again !

This used to be a 5 star review but sadly I'm amending it! I ate at this restaurant back at the beginning of May and the service was rubbish and the food was awful! What makes it worse is that I spent over £100 on food here and I'm still waiting on a reply from their customer service that isn't a complete insult. They offered me £15 voucher. We sat for 20mins before anyone took a drinks order and the food was so slow to come out and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. When the food did come out my sons burger was cold and my steak had been over cooked and over seasoned. I want my money back! We've been regular TGI customers for almost 25 years and I don't want to go back again after the way I have been treated by this company. I'm now just being ignored! Don't bother wasting your money!

We came away feeling quite disappointed after a lunch meal at TGIs. Food portion was abysmal, my toddler had a better portion size than myself and husband did. Both went for the sticky chicken, mine wasn’t coated, had about a half portion size of chips, sad looking salad. Astounded that a starter is £10, quality of food does not match the price. We were supposed to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday, choosing this place was the worst decision of my life. Perhaps the mistake was that we thought the place would be like in America, but it is not, the menu and quality are light years behind. Customer service is not existing. From the first minute I wanted to turn around and leave the place, but I was like oh just wait a bit, it's the famous TGI Friday's, everything is gonna be fine. Well, it didn't get any better, but worse. We sat down, 6 of us barely fit at the big table. The table was sticky, yaki ketchup bottle rolled under the table. Cutlery stained and found food prices on it and placed on the table without napkins. Asked for complete replacement and this poisoned the whole event. When the drinks were served, one cup flipped over, there was Dr pepper everywhere and then after 5 minutes the waitress thrown a few napkins for us to soak it up and clean the table, which clearly wasn't enough. She was expecting us to clean it, instead of offering another tablet with a lot's of apologies. No, we didn't get that! So this was the beginning. All the food was awful, asked for well done burger and well done stake, all came out raw, asked for another one and the manager said it will be taken off of the bill, it's fine, but I'll we stayed hungry with that. French fries was cold and made from frozen. They had no mashed potatoes! Awful place! Never going there again and will tell everyone not to go!! Avoid this place people!!😭

Booked for 3.45pm on a Saturday. Expecting it to be a little busy as there was a big concert in town. We got to our table straight away which was perfect. We were seated at a table with no cutlery. Another couple came and got seated behind us, only for them to get served first! And when we gave our order we waited 45 minutes for our drinks! No one actually came over to the table. We had to hunt down someone to ask where the drinks were. Then our food came which was nice. We also had to hunt someone down for our bill In the end we walked over to the waitress area to pay. Because we would of been sat there for ages.

Started off so well with a friendly on the ball waitress and ended in utter disaster. Nearly an hour wait for our ordered food to be told certain items out of stock. Kids meals arrived cold. Side portions of peas and beans served in sauce containers no bigger than a shot glass. No cutlery or napkins in sight, even asking repeatedly. The macaroni and cheese sides were some kind of horrendous abomination served in some strange green garlic bechamal sauce and absolutely nothing like the menu, no cheese in sight. Told sorry we run out of macaroni and clearly cheese as well. Manager extremely sheepish but seemingly able to work the till as most of our food was removed from the bill thankfully. AVOID at all cost 2/6 meals were as expected

3 hours we were stuck there. Slow slow slow service. Food quality very very poor, over cooked, and delivered to our party in dribs and drabs, so some nearly finished while others still waiting. One of our party had the steak for £26.80, it was like the sole of a shoe with a handful of fries. fast food would be better. Something woeful going on in the kitchen. Chicken strips over cooked, hard, lukewarm. And grossly overpriced. cocktails just a glass full of slush and ice. Which also took nearly 45 minutes to be served. And it wasn’t as if the place was busy. And appallingly loud piped music in the background, could hardly hear yourself think. Appalling, frankly one of the worst dining experiences you could have. Don’t go!!!!

Horrendous. Service was very very slow. When we did get food, it didn't get any better. What we got was cold! Some of the order was wrong so had to wait again for a new burger to be cooked. Had to ask for the sides. As for the cajun chicken....... what I received was boiled pasta with chopped peppers on topped with a sliced chicken breast. Absolutely not the normal service from TGI, we will never be returning to the southampton restaurant.

Absolutely horrific experience and really ruined date night. We turned up there, excited to try somewhere new for us. The service from start to end was so slow. It felt like we were ruining an afternoon gossip between the 4 young ladies serving. Between finishing our food and the plates being taken away was over 20mins and they were not busy. We had to ask for the bill 3 times. When we finally got the bill and card machine we went through 4 machines because there was some technical issue. Although my partner paid and it had gone out of the account they said it had declined and wanted us to pay again. Not explaining the situation very well and they were rude. Don't start me on the quality of food, we left hungry as the food was not edible. It was just a horrible experience and we felt like they were constantly looking at us and judging. We are part of the LGBT+ community.

Bit pricey if I'm totally honest... i expect a fuller plate for the price of the steak meal... maybe more fries?! But the food is amazing! Best steak I've had in a while. The brownie with ice cream for desert damn. Overall very tasty. Ellie, the waitress with the cool tatts was very lovely & attentive. Always noticed she kneeled down next to the tables when taking orders, which for some reason I liked. Maybe it just feels more engaging. I'm not sure really. Anyways 5 stars for service! 5 stars for food quality & taste 4 stars for quantity on the sides

Llegué aquí alrededor de las 9 pm el jueves 8 de agosto. Solo tomé una copa de vino y esperé a que mi teléfono se cargara. Estaba muy cansado después de 8 horas en coche. Fui a tomar otra copa, solo para que me dijeran que no me podían servir ya que estaba cansado y me dormía, absolutamente ridículo. El chico que me sirvió fue grosero y se levantó. Me gustaría ver cómo está este chico después de 8 horas en coche con niños. No lo recomiende, en vez de eso, me fui a la carretera y me sirvieron una copa. Muchos otros bares en la zona. Este bar perdió mi negocio. Creo que el chico que me atendió necesita trabajar en sus habilidades personales, solo que es muy extraño no salvarse por estar demasiado cansado. Estaba bastante avergonzado por él. Y el ambiente era tranquilo y plano, debe haber habido otras dos personas allí. No lo recomiendo. Ve a otro lugar para comer y beber donde el personal realmente quiere tu negocio.

burger is watery and the bun is soggy. don’t ever order from here as i rang up as i didn’t get enough change by £10 i noticed as i was walking with my food in my hand and the driver had basically ran away. i rang up the next day as i didn’t know i had to ring them bcs i paid with cash and not just eat. he told me that it wasn’t their problem and told me to come in to the shop to ‘talk’ but i wouldn’t get my money back. absolute tramps

The entire start to finish was a great experience with friendly staff, really clean and tidy restaurant. Will come definitely again. The Cajun chicken sharing pizza was so tasty, lots of flavours and a bit of spice, so nice, best pizza I’ve tasted. The salad bar was so fresh and crunchy.

I would like to write a glowing review about Fresh Shawarma, hands down the best place to get shawarma in all of Shirley. Despite being temporarily closed, Fresh Shawarma always provides a quality service, at a reasonable price, with friendly staff. There is free complimentary tea, a nice seating area, and extremely good food that is packed full of things that will make you more than full and satisfied. Overall, I would recommend, and I eagerly await the reopening.
