Tesco Superstore in East Riding of Yorkshire

Decent sized store, we got what we needed but doesn't have lots of choice so if you're used to a bigger store, you may struggle a bit.

Barely and tills open, staff slow and overall really hated it. 1 STAR.

They need to check that the cars in the disabled parking bays have a disabled parking badge on show!. I have just seen a lady struggling to walk from a far away parking place to get to the store and there is 5 cars parked in the disabled bays not displaying a disabled badge!!! And a couple of the cars had young lads driving them!

Called into the Bridlington filling station today at 16:22 It went like this: Chose a pay at pump Registered club card at pump Pump wouldn't take the card payment (the pump was stuck on the last customer amount) The attendant saw that we were struggling and looked the other way, several times After 4th attempt I went into the kiosk for help Was told I was doing it wrong and be patient (done this literally hundreds of times) Went back to the pump, still not moving Losing patience now, motioned to the kiosk still not working Finally got one of the assistants to come and look at pump 'Oh' she said. 'We've been having problems with pay at pumps' I suggested she put a notice to that effect on the pump for future customers Chose pay in kiosk, filled up, went into kiosk, paid, went back to car and drove away Still no notice on pump Made to feel like I was a nuisance for asking for help. Not good!

Big store with good offers , Found the staff very helpful and nothing is too much trouble .. All in all a good place to do your weekly shop or just grab a few bits 👍

Most of the staff don't look like they want to be there. If you ask them something you feel like they are doing you a favour.

1 very rude member of staff in the self checkouts today. My 4 year old was trying to help me pack but we had to wait for assistance. The man came over and abruptly told my little boy to not touch it and pushed his arm away (abusive behaviour). He suffers greatly in places anyway and he just got upset and said "it was an accident Mummy". We then beeped as we were walking out as they forgot to take the tags of a piece of clothing and again he said in an abrupt manner "Do you have your receipt". This was humiliating, especially as others were also beeping when exiting. I have tried to contact the Bridlington Tesco store and have rung the Tesco customer service number but could not get through to talk to a person. This particular member of staff and their behaviour was beyond disgraceful.

Good selection of quality goods

I like this store, it's my main place for food shopping and few other things. Very friendly staff and security and lots of people I know to talk to and always a great place for social interaction with people you know and to meet people. Always love the Clubcard offers and I see how it's changed so much since the 1990s. Best Supermarket in Bridlington. 🙂

Absolutely love this Tesco. I'm always able to get what I came in for and the staff have always been nothing but kind and helpful. The shelves are always tidy and the aisles are kept immaculate. Checkouts are always accessible and the staff who work on the self checkouts are always quick to come and assist.

It's not the biggest Tesco in the world but it is the biggest Tesco in Bridlington! Nice, clean store. Well laid out with a good choice of produce. If I had to pick a negative it would be that some of the trolleys are a bit wonky. But that's about it. Has a petrol station on site. Great disabled access. Toilets in store. Oh, no cafe. A coffee shop would be nice!

Step back in time to when Tesco thought they could get away with no effort and the customers will come anyway. Times have changed and this basic shop was survived several plans for major revamp or demolition resulting in this branch of Tesco looking under invested in and cheap looking while the competition has built up around it. Ten years or more ago... Five star for convenience and location near the station, but now the atmosphere for the prices charged and the self scan often understaffed, and I'm sorry to say staff under enormous pressure don't give the best customer experience all the time anymore... Must be insulting to be having to do the same job as Aldi or Lidl and get paid less. I find myself shopping there fewer times and also walking out with little to nothing when I go. I am not sure if anything can be done with this shop now as the competition has took customers and staff. A rebuild is probably low on priority now. I still think it was wrong for M&S to shut completely and not have a small simply food shop, there is a negative to too many cheap value shops. I think if Tesco DID rebuild it should share a new build with something a little more exclusive food wise, like an M&S Foodhall or SOMETHING. Tesco owns One Stop of which there are three now which looks as if Tesco are focused on the convenience market now rather than supermarket sized shops now. Back to my essay of a review. The clothes offering is pitiful in this shop, the back where the nonfood items are looks as if better times have past with under filled shelves showing the dirt and it is obvious that the layout is on the cusp of being revamped but the area manager and Tesco HQ keep putting it off. The shop is still most convenient for the station... The shop is back to front. If the main entrance was facing the station doors with a cafe or somewhere to at least eat a meal deal sales would improve.

Always worth a visit when your requiring those household essentials.

Amanda and another lady (sorry I didn’t catch her name)last night in Bridlington Store provided me with excellent customer service and assistance. I wish all your staff were as courteous and conscientious as these 2.

Open the store at 0600 but the tobacco kiosk isn’t open til 0800? I understand the licence laws but surely as the petrol station (which opens at 0600 and sells cigarettes at opening times) is closed…… 3 months by the way…… I would of thought you would of made an exception and opened the cigarette kiosk in store at 0600, apparently not. Very poor customer service.

My wife visited today on her own and Terry on the checkout was very helpful by simply being patient while she loaded a full shop from the trolley. He also put through the items at a pace a normal human could cope with. Every time we shop here we find the staff always happy to help and it makes the mundane task of supermarket shopping much more palatable.

With Clubcard deals, prices are excellent and very competitive. Shopping is very easy and all staff are very helpful.

Everything you would expect of a Tesco superstore.

If you are buying frozen chips then be careful because I bought some today and lots of packs had obviously been left to defrost at some stage and all the chips were frozen together in a solid block with some others frozen in clumps in the bags.

I went into Tesco's last night and their was a very helpful member of staff that helped me with my shopping through the till after I walked out of Morrisons after leaving my shopping in the trolley because nobody could be bothered to put them through there till with it.

Just been in Tesco it is a dirt place the toilet s are very bad ladies thing over flowing so I wouldn't like to try the bakery. Also not friendly as the women was stressed out and couldn't manage

Very ignorant lady serving in the petrol station did not speak one word before or after my transaction even though I did try to engage with her.

Hate going in here, enjoy the wide selection but hate the fact that it's too crowded, no one social distances and the staff don't enforce it.

I go into Tesco's in Bridlington most mornings very early and I have to state the staff are absolutely superb. Extremely helpful I couldn't ask for more. The covid procedures in my opinion are excellent. For me the best run store in Bridlington

Fruit and veg always fresh, plenty of choices for meats, fìsh, cheeses, etc pleasant staff.

Yesterday myself and my Wife were told only one of us could shop, despite telling the security guard that we're carers for my Mum, who lives with us, and has Dementia. He wasn't interested in listening, and just talked loudly over me. We planned to do a very large shop, for our household of 4 adults and two dogs. Because of Covid, and because Mum lives with us, for safety, we only go to a large supermarket once a month, so just one of us would not have been able to both unload the shopping at the checkout, and pack it into the many bags, then load it into the car. Tesco need to either revise this rule, or at the very least, make sure that the security guards actually talk to, and listen to customers, rather than simply turning them away. As we left, another upset lady stopped us, and said that her Husband, who suffers with mental health and anxiety issues, was told he'd have to go into the store alone. Ridiculous! All four of us went to Morrisons, and will now continue to shop there in the future.

What a lovely supermarket! Excellent value for money with very good quality stock! Unfortunately getting into the place is a bit more difficult! I understand that restrictions need to be applied due to covid but why have a very good working traffic light system and then have security override and only allow access with their discretion! At one point the queue was stationary for 13 minutes, yes I did time it sad I know, with people leaving the store in that time! When I eventually got access the store and the tills were empty! Come on Tesco I am sure you can do a lot better!!!

I've just been refused to go in and do a shop because my friend was going in at same time we live in different house holds the woman on door said I would have to wait outside whilst she does her shop then I could go in . Also I need my friend help putting things in my trolley as I'm unable to bend down with back problems so we left and gone to morrisons absolutely disgusting the rules state one member from each household

My husband and I are retired I am partly disabled but dont look it to the eye Was told at the door only 1 was aloud in. I was stunned as can not do a big shop on my own. We told them but said more or less no chance So came away .Very upset with tesco and dont feel like shopping there again.

Just had the pleasure of being messed around by young assistants in the phone shop inside Tesco's... on arrival one assistant asked what I was looking for and I said in a clear voice and yes in English a Samsung phone sim free ,the assistant said her friend had the keys to the store cuboard and she wouldn't be long as she was dealing with a elderly lady.. in the time I was waiting she heard I was wanting a Samsung phone. 20 minutes later finally It was my turn. The assistant asked what phone i was looking for and i said a Samsung sim free to which she replied we don't have any Samsung phones in store.... well done 100%you know how to cheese people off. Then they said call again tomorrow we might have some stock then.... not good enough I want a definite answer sure a store like Tesco's knows there stock movements. So answer to this problem is easy sorry Tesco's I'm buying from elsewhere very disappointed in staff and the way this shop is managed...

Nice store, but opening times are lies at lockdown, as it closed at 8, naughty naughty

Went on Tues 7th April ar 7.00am expecting to feel safe doing my shopping. Even though all the floor markings directing customers to keep separate and use a one way system, hardly anyone kept to it. One staff member said they had given up trying. Then at the checkout a place to stand and a way to position your trolley what difference is how you place your trolley make. A very officious staff member telling everyone how to do that. I will definitely not be using Tescos again.

Only will sell you 3 of any item, well how have they no toilet roll. Not even kitchen roll. An absolute joke. I'll never shop there again.

Not a very clean store and a lot of goods cannot be accessed by the elderly or disabled from the top shelves. The staff never pull them to the front. Manager not very pleasant to approach in fact down right ignorant. The change machine in the store charges a large amount of interest on what you put in I lost £12 with £90 of change.

Absolutley love there £3 meal deals there brilliant and better than the london ones

Was on holiday in filey and had been using this store. There was an incident outside and their staff were amazing a true credit to the chain.

Bridlington's best supermarket! Very helpful friendly staff. Very easy to navigate around unlike other confusing supermarkets. Very spacious and pleasurable to walk around. Lovely feelgood household items etc section. Very competitive prices and very satisfactory range of groceries. Quick checkout.

Nice clean store with friendly staff. The size dictates the volume and variety of products but it has pretty much everything.

Absolutely shocking, the staff are unfriendly and rude, they forget take tags of clothing and when you go back to have them taken off, before even asking if you got a receipt, they accuse you of theft.. disgusting.. they even upset my 7yr old daughter with how they spoke to me.. never going to this store again and I'd highly advise anyone else not to as well...

A massive range of food...excellent deli counter... And thepleasant aroma of baked bread wafting from the instore bakery conjures up happy times from my childhood when my mum would bake... Altogether everything all under one roof and perfectly laid out

Love this friendly staff supermarket, great prices,fresh fish stall,freshly baked bread,just a nice size ,no worries about having a pound for trolly(free) large parking area always fresh fruit and vegetables displayed, clothes for young and old, no complaints well done tescos..

Helpful staff and wide range of reasonably priced products. Would have given five stars but as I couldn't find garam masala and a few other herbs and spices it gets 4*. Was most impressed with how helpful they were towards me, pushing me round in my wheel chair and selecting the items I wanted and packing them for me. Good stuff Tesco!

Nearly wore my shoes out wandering up and down the aisles which appear to have been rearranged. Fire alarm added some excitement to the visit.

Not very good, fruit and vegetables are not very good quality and the place is a bit run down.

Wouldn't go first thing on a Monday morning, absolutely no staff on the tills apart from one, only option where the self service tills, and there nothing but a pain, as nearly every time you need assistance on them, would definitely go later in the day, when there is plenty of staff on.

It's Tescos, clean, today, has everything.

Dreadful! Very little stock. No fresh bread at 11am. No photo services despite it being advertised in store and online (apparently they "used to have them" ... not helpful). No one on checkouts so had to queue for ages at self service ... two people in front were having issues and the staff totally ignored them and stood looking gormless while the queue just got bigger and bigger! Awful supermarket and it wasn't even a busy time of day.

Good branch. Sometimes busy and hard to find an open/free till but not too bad.

Good size store central to the town. Staff friendly and go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and do all they can to help with any queries. Good clothing and non-food department makes this a good place to shop
