Cassiel Bar & Kitchen in East Riding of Yorkshire

Worst service ever, didn’t even get to taste the food. Take my advice and avoid this place altogether as their attitude is shocking.

First time visit 4/10/23 11.30 am and wow what a lovely atmospheric bar we ordered our drinks then studied menu we both opted for the fish and chips and we was not let down the food was absolutley cooked to perfection and presented very well on our plate and tasted beautiful thanks the the young lady Milley who served us she was first class and qe will be back soon

Good service, good food nice atmosphere. Visited on a Saturday night and enjoyed the experience. We had four tapas items which was more than enough for two people. We ordered the potato bravas and we thought they were a bit too spicy (just us bring wimpy!) Mentioned it to the waitress, a guy came over straight away and said sorry and offered a replacement with no fuss at all. Now that is service.

Visited earlier in the week for my daughters birthday with family. 5 different meals between 6 of us. Gammons, chippie burger, chilli and Mediterranean pasta all lovely. Peppered steak stir fry with honey mustard glaze was killed with either mustard, pepper or both! Top of it was lovely but all the sauce was sinking to the bottom of the bowl. Did mention to new staff but wasn’t acknowledged. Not a deal breaker but would ask if the chef is in a good or bad mood before ordering again lol

Disappointing. The place is nice enough looking but the food wasn’t good. The burger wasn’t very nice and the onion rings were hard and inedible. It seems over priced and the staff seem very inexperienced. The beer even tasted old like the pipes needed cleaning. The area upstairs looked dirty and the toilets were dirty.

Delivious burgers as always - 1 meat, 1 halloumi. Homemade chips & onion rings are so good. Excellent value for burger & a drink deal on a Monday. Service fantastic - 2 really friendly & helpful young girls served us. Eaten here lots now & will continue to do so.

Visited on a Tuesday evening with a group of family and friends and was blown away by the standard of service from the two young ladies on duty that evening. They couldn't have been more hospitable and every member of our group (3 different generations) thought they were amazing, and very genuine too! This was our first visit but certainly won't be the last. The food was also very nice, we had a mixture of tapas and main meals which were delicious, hot and well-presented.

We visited here today after having several previous enjoyable visits. We had been recommended by a friend to try the tapas. I was informed by the waitress that the tapas was only served Sunday-Thursday. There was a message on the menu saying Sunday-Thursday. I apologised for not reading the small print and mentioned my friend had eaten it last Friday and Saturday. I was again told it was not served and we ordered something else. As I looked around, I noticed several other’s eating the tapas. Thinking they may have pre-ordered, I didn’t think anything of it until another waitress came and took the order from the next table…for tapas!!! Nobody came to check if our meal was ok, it was not busy. What could have been a lovely visit was just average due to not being able to order what we had visited for.

My wife and I found this place when visiting Cottingham. What a delightful find. We opted for the Tapas . It was delicious! Very tasty and the waitress was very attentive. We certainly will be back to savour some more of their excellent dishes. Great value. Well recommended.

1 am not normally one to leave a bad review but the first time in my life I felt that uncomfortable and frustrated with the staff I couldn't let it slide, if you have a new born or a child for that matter don't go to this place our baby was a little bit upset with him self making abit of noise and a male and female who worked their was making the same noises he was to each other what an absolute disgrace We will never be returning to this restaurant and suggest parents in the same boat don't either.(they have also blocked me after the review I have left with no explanation or reason or apology clearly in the wrong) as I’m true to my self the food and price was spot on but like I have said the experience was just not worth it.

Great selection of food and drinks. The lovely lady serving gave me an option of making a mocktail instead of having alcohol. Portions are very generous! Will visit again!

Having eaten here before and had a great experience, I have to say that we were disappointed on this occasion. I ordered the 'chippy tea' burger and my partner had the chicken stroganoff. The stroganoff had plenty of chicken but was bland and needed more flavour. The 'chippy tea burger' wasn't what I expected from something described as a burger. It was a bread bun, with a large piece of battered fish in it with 2 onion rings on top. They forgot to bring the mushy peas but there was a generous portion of chunky chips. I ended up just eating the fish (which was lovely), mushy peas and chips so really we could have saved a few £'s by just ordering the fish and chips off the menu.

Had the steak stroganoff, portion was more than I could manage, that's a good thing. Service spot on. Surroundings are very pleasant and modern too. Couldn't fault it.
