Total farce of a place. 2 of us went to the cafe to grab a late breakfast or lunch. We got upstairs and there were 3 parties in the queue in front of us. The first one didn't get what he wanted and the next ordered a drink. The next people (there were 3 in this group) ordered coffee and cakes. We have now been in this queue for 15 minutes and just before they got served a rather stressed out young male staff member told the server at the till that we "were the last for food". Despite a young lady and her daughter joining the queue they let them stand there for 10 minutes before telling her she could only order a drink. The reason for all this? They have to "clean up the tables". There were only about 4 tables with dishes on them. When I eventually got to order, I asked how long 2 breakfast would be and was told 25-30 minutes. This would have meant we would have been there of 45 mins or more. I declined their "offer".

Absolutely Disgusting, waiting time, meals disgusting. Will not visit EVER again waste of money. One lady on the front taking orders, and one lady in the kitchen, no fault of theirs, it’s the manager.

Waited 50 minutes for food . Then they brought me the wrong food . I asked for a breakfast with meat free sausage and no bacon yet it came with bacon . So I had to wait again . The food was inedible when I finally got it . Sun standard service. Sun standard food . Shocking

Usually visit the Longton Extra branch and use the cafe on a weekly basis, but as in the Hanley area decided to try this cafe. What a mistake. Arrived at 11.50am and was finally served at 12.25pm. Then my mothers bagel was rock hard. She pointed this out to the waitress who was very nice and even offered a refund which was not accepted. The cafe was totally understaffed despite being lunch time. Will not visit again.

Visited here Thursday lunchtime as I really needed a hot and filling meal. I ended up being severely disappointed. I ordered fish and chips and after a half hour wait, I was informed by staff that they would not be comfortable serving me the fish and it had come out poorly so they asked if there was something else I would like instead. Initially I thought this was good customer service and they had excellent quality checks. I changed my order to the steak pie, another 20 minutes passed by which time I was starving and the food arrived. Disappointedly it was served with mash potato and peas, neither of which I am massive fan of and I wasn't informed that this what the pie would come with; I thought it would be chips in light of the previous order I'd made and I was really in the mood for chips. I decided not to make a fuss as I just wanted something to eat. Unfortunately the pastry on the steak pie was inedible and was completely rock hard and it took several goes with the knife to open it up. In the end I only ate the filling of the pie and it was not worth the £6.50 which I paid. I hate wasting food but it was awful.

This is pretty poor. Its OK for a coffee and a sandwich, but anything else is a mystery tour. The service is slow, the menu is dominated by chips. If you dont like chips your in the wrong place. Sainsurys across the road is better.

The cafe is upstairs at the back of the store. the food is basic. The choice is from baps to full meals. The tables are cleaned as and when. They did look short staffed and their was only one person front of house. The food was basically presented. There is a large seating area which has a frosted glass screen so you could look inside the store. All the prices were slightly overpriced especially it you have a family. Owing to the fact that all the food is sourced from the stall. the could promote special meals that could be replicated at home. thus increasing sales.

The cafe wasn't particularly busy but there was a wait for our food. Food was a high average when it arrived. The young girl who served us was pleasant although a bit disorganised.

The café wasn't busy but the staff were very disorganised. We waited about 30 minutes for a curry, small breakfast and an omelette. When my omelette came it was missing the slice of toast advertised and the omelette was impossible to cut. it seemed to have been left in a microwave for a very long time. I will never be visiting this café again!

Rude team leader served me, snappy and unpleasant and made a judgement about the quantity of food I wanted. The food was actually disgusting and I spent the next 48 hours on the toilet. Will not be going back... Ever

Stopped by for quick cuppa, used the lift to get up to cafe but there are stairs. What I like about the cafe is you can sit and look out over the whole store if you like people watching. Nice enough pot of tea in a nice teapot.

This wasnt the first time we called here for lunch and coffee while shopping, but it might be the last!!! This cafe is absolutely disgraceful. The staff don't seem to care, service is shocking. This weekend the tables were almost all covered in debris, cups plates and trays. Is it customers responsibility to clear? There are no signs saying so... One member of staff delivered out some meals, they literally step out and shout out the order!!! Maybe they don't use numbers because the staff don't know numbers yet? Anyway, this member shouted out the order, called it wrong at first, then after delivering to the table 'cursed' on the way back to the kitchen. There was a member of staff walking around with a broom and dustpan picking up bits off of the floor and ignoring the piles of stuff on the tables. Unbelievable!! Tesco should be ashamed of this place. DEFINITELY A PLACE TO AVOID!!!

I went with my son to have lunch before shopping. We both ordered lasagne. It was like slop. The garlic bread was cold and felt like it had been cooked two weeks ago and the chips were vile. My coffee was coffee less just frothy milk. Also we struggled to find a clean fork. We will not be visiting again and will be sticking to Sainsbury's cafe next time which is 100 % better.

Called for lunch before a bit of shopping. Was fairly quiet. We ordered 2 paninis some chips and a kids meal. Plus drinks. Paid and were told they would bring the food over. The drinks arrived quickly. 20 minutes later and still no food. We went back to investigate and it was clear they had forgotten our order. No apology- just told they would bring it out in 5 minutes. The paninis then arrived...but no side order of chips or kids meal.... they had still forgotten them. We then waited another 10 minutes for the rest of the order to accompany our now cold paninis. won't bother again!

We called for coffee after shopping as this cafe had previously been a good stop off. How disappointing - 10 tables were piled up with dirty plates and let over food - other were dirty, food stained and not clean. No staff behind the counter...what's gone wrong? We eventually got drinks - but we shall thin again before calling at this Tesco Cafe.

I had a lovely jacket potato with cheese, beans and salad on my last visit and my mother had ham egg and chips, all great value for money and good sized servings, ideal for midshop meals

Ordered a panini and the guy opened it and put it on the plate with his bare hands, he cooked it (after doing various jobs inbetween and touching many things) and then used his bare hands to put it back on my plate. I asked him to put a fresh one in as he hadnt washed his hands prior - the response "I always wash my hands", well, you certainly didnt before you decided to touch my food.

Visited Tesco cafe and the food and coffees reasonably priced and good. The down side they do not have enough staff on so the lady who served us, also cleared tables and wiped around. Unfortunately when me and my wife visited most of the tables had dirty dishes and were not clean. No fault of the lady who served us.

It is, what it is. A cafe in a large Supermarket. This is never going to compete with the wide variety of other local places where you can eat and drink in more comfort and with a wider choice of food.

I enjoyed a very good breakfast here on a Saturday morning, with high quality food prepared by an enthusiastic and friendly staff member. As a breakfast regular at another Tesco cafe, I was surprised to find that the exact same meal here cost 20% more than I usually paid. I shall be interested to learn if the prices of other goods and services in this store are +20% compared to other Tesco locations.

I enjoyed an excellent breakfast at this cafe, but was surprised that it was just over 20% more expensive than at my regular Tesco store. I was told that this was due to the "banding" of the store, and do not know what other prices vary on this basis within the Tesco empire or is it just the cafe prices.

The tables were not cleared. It took 15 minutes to serve a plate of soup with bread rolls (actually warm baguette halves with butter - nice)

I have driven past many times and it is always busy so I thought it must be good! I was mistaken, it must just be the only place open. The oatcakes and the cheese were completely tasteless, the bacon was only half cooked with uncooked white fat - horrible. Sausage was ok. Waste of money for me because we couldn't eat any of it and it was too far to return. Won't be going again.
